La playa era bonita
Todo estuvo ok
My 8 and 5 year olds had an awesome time at Dreams Summer Camp. They made friends, swam, crafted, played games, and ate well. I felt completely comfortable leaving them in the capable hands of the instructors: Daniela, Beny, Ayla, Gaby y Melissa. Gracias!
We planned a very special dinner at Portofino to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. When we arrived at the resort, we were specifically encouraged to use the Dreams app to plan our stay and see which restaurants would be open each day. We did exactly that. On our first day, we reviewed the restaurant schedule in the app and planned our dinners accordingly. Portofino showed that it would be open on the night we wanted to celebrate, so we planned everything around it. We followed the dress code, got dressed in formal attire, and even arranged a babysitter for my nephew because children under 13 are not allowed. This was the only night we had available to celebrate as a family, and we made all of these arrangements specifically based on the schedule Dreams provided in their own app. When we got downstairs, fully dressed and ready for our celebration, we were suddenly told that Portofino and the other scheduled restaurants were closed and that the resort had changed the itinerary for the day. Instead, they were offering an outdoor buffet on one of the hottest days of our stay. There was no advance notice whatsoever. If guests are specifically told to use the app to plan their stay, what is the point of having an app or publishing a daily itinerary if the information isn't reliable? We understand that occasionally changes may be necessary, but guests should be notified—especially when the resort is encouraging them to make plans based on that schedule. It felt as though the resort simply changed its operations based on whatever worked best for them that day, without considering how those last-minute changes affected their guests. What made this even more disappointing was management’s response. When we explained that this was my father’s 70th birthday, that we had arranged childcare, followed the dress code, and planned the evening based on their own app, we were simply told that restaurant schedules are “subject to change.” No sincere apology, no attempt to accommodate us, and no effort to make the situation right. Our family spent well over $6,000 for four nights expecting the level of service advertised by a high-end resort. Plans can change, but luxury hospitality is about communication, reliability, and how you take care of guests when something does change. We chose Dreams expecting first-class service for an important family celebration. Unfortunately, the way this was handled was anything but first class. For the amount this resort charges, we expected considerably better communication, customer service, and consideration for its guests. This is our second time staying at a Hyatt Inclusive property, and both experiences were equally horrible between this location and its sister property. They are both terribly managed and many of the employees are miserable and very unfriendly. We won't be staying at a Hyatt Inclusive property every again
A very enjoyable family stay – wonderful staff, great food and an excellent spa We had a very enjoyable family stay at Dreams Huatulco. One of the hotel’s greatest strengths is undoubtedly its staff. Throughout our stay, we were impressed by the kindness, professionalism and genuine attention shown by the teams. A special mention goes to Deni, who served us at the World Café lunch buffet almost every day. He was incredibly attentive and always one step ahead — refilling drinks and anticipating what we needed before we even had to ask. That kind of thoughtful service makes a real difference on a family trip. Thank you, Deni ! On the beach, the water sports team — we sadly didn’t catch their names — was fantastic: dynamic, flexible, helpful and genuinely friendly. They were always willing to accommodate us and find solutions, and their positive attitude really stood out. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The food was also among the highlights. Overall, we ate very well throughout the resort, both at the buffet and in the restaurants. The spa is genuinely excellent and well worth making time for. A real highlight of the resort. A couple of things kept us from giving 5 stars. The mattresses have seen better days and were visibly sagging in places — several of us ended up waking with backaches. Service can also become slow at peak times: we waited quite a while for pasta at the buffet on more than one occasion, and waits for some restaurants could be long during busy periods. The resort itself is aging — we have been coming here since around 2009/2010, and the rooms remain largely unchanged — but it is clearly well maintained. A thoughtful refresh of the rooms and some of the restaurant décor would bring the property more in line with current standards without losing its character. Overall, however, we had a very pleasant family holiday. Dreams Huatulco continues to offer a beautiful setting, very good food, an excellent spa and, above all, a genuinely caring team. The staff are undoubtedly one of the main reasons this resort remains such an enjoyable place to return to.
La limpieza , era un nivel buenísimo jamás vi cosas sucias
Waiters were fantastic. I remember specifically Brenda and Jesus in world café being very kind and attentive. It was our last night, and it was great. I will say, I didn't appreciate the early pack up of the food one night. The food was packed up 30 mins before closing, leaving us hungry. And 8pm curfew for the pools is sorta silly. Amazing servers tho. Would love to see absinthe, pisco, hennesy, and Lalo added to the drink menu.
me gusto mucho la comida del restaurant de mariscos
View from resort was truly spectacular! Resort is limited on entertainment and food is low quality. Poolside seating is inadequate.
If you are looking for a wonderful resort and spa to take your family and friends to, look no further than Dreams Huatulco Resort and Spa. We could not have had a better holiday. From all the activities like: 1.) Yoga/stretch class 2.) Archery 3.) Aquatics 4.) Zumba 5.) Pickle Ball 6.) Spanish Lessons 7.) Dance Lessons, Salsa and more The list goes on. Something for everyone. They have 6 pools, 3 or 4 Family pools. 2 Adults pools, 3 are infinite pools that overlook the most amazing rock formations and beautiful waves that are mesmerizing. There are palapas on the beach that are wonderful. Now let me talk about the HUGE selection of restaurants. Oriental, Mexican, Seafood, international and more. They set up for Mexican and International events and the work that goes into putting on these event is all due to the amazing staff, truly an unbelievable night of singing and dancing and delicious food, something for everyone. Now the staff, endless smiles and total dedication to their jobs. Always gracious and polite. They are there to make your holiday the best it can be. For thirty years we have been coming to Mexico and it is because of the lovely Mexican people. So much pride in what they do. Thanks-you. Thank-you to all the waiters, servers in all the restaurants, the bartenders who make the best drinks 🍷, the Activity team that do a little bit of everything. Also all the welcoming committee to the guest services. The cleaning staff who work so hard to keep the resort sparkling clean. They also have a kids club and a great gym for the fitness buffs. A beautiful spa to enjoy with a great selection of services. It I have forgotten anyone, thank-you all. 🥰 It was one of the best holidays because of #DreamsHuatulcoresortandspa
Clean room,friendly staff, good food
Great diner, Alexander was very hospitable and provided great service
We were getting food with Alex and he was serving us frequently and it was the best service I ever had and he’s the only reason I’d ever come back again
AMAZING I love the server Alex
We stayed for one week in a preferred room with an outdoor tub, and a very big balcony overlooking the ocean, it was a big room and having the extra space on the balcony felt very luxurious (and nice to be able to spread out our wet, bathing suits and towels, etc….There is a clothesline in the shower too.) We really enjoyed the amenities that were in the room, you will find shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the bathroom. We also had a Nespresso machine with cups and saucers. Bathrobes were a nice touch, we didn’t use the slippers. The mini bar isn’t huge, two different snacks and a variety of pop, a few small bottles of beer, lots of bottled water everywhere you go. We enjoyed the preferred lounge, it’s quite small, but they have a nice fresh variety of juices, coffee, snacks and a bar. It was located close to our room, so it made it easy. Other reviews have said they didn’t use it because it was far from where the room was and if you don’t go, I don’t think you’ll miss it. We loved the main buffet, we enjoyed all of the choices and making our own plates! We enjoyed sitting outside for all of our meals. Lots of people have already reviewed the ‘chair game’ so I will just say this, if you intend to spend the entire day by the pool, you will struggle to get your preferred spot. We didn’t want all day at the pool, and preferred an afternoon swim, we easily found chairs around 3pm. There are a few pools to choose from and each seemed like they had a different vibe. Make sure you go to the Mezcal tasting bar, it was very interesting and fun to taste different ones! The coffee shop has great coffee and tea, to note, the smoothie menu that shows up on your app (which you will download when you get there) is incorrect, they didn’t have any of the smoothies listed on that menu, I guess it was outdated. The app is super useful to doublecheck times when restaurants were open, see what the evening entertainment was, and to contact housekeeping for any other amenities that you need. There are a few shops across the street, so if you forget anything from home, you can buy everything from bathing suits, pharmacy, or little gifts. It’s not a big area of shopping, but a nice little walk from the hotel. Heading downtown to shop around the Town Square is incredibly easy by taxi, the area felt very safe. Concierge will make sure that the taxi heads to the right area, and you will easily find taxis to head back to the hotel. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort, very relaxing, the big standout was definitely the staff. Everybody was incredibly lovely and definitely made this trip incredible!
I had a fabulous week-long restful vacation with my 6 year old son. The location is stunning, staff is friendly and helpful, and the amenities were excellent. The hotel itself is dated but its clean. It is a great place to go if you have family. Shout out to the activities staff who were so kind to my son and played games with him, specifically Luis who is a master at the the spinning top toy! Thank you to Dreams Huatulco - I hope to be back!
Alexander was wonderful! Very attentive, Pleasant, friendly Thank You!!
Alexander was very, very good. We had a special supper with friends, and the service was extraordinary . Recommend for anyone.
We spent 14 days in paradise. This hotel was fantastic!!The staff were amazing!!The food was good. The room service was fantastic.our room Service Team ..Sergio, Nero, Judith, Alejandra and Patricia ..we thank you very much for your kindness and professionalism during our stay. You went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations. We will return to this hotel again in the future
Pros: The beach was beautiful, the pools were nice. The kids club was a lifesaver. The spa was a nice break and very relaxing. Cons: the facility could use some updates. Peeling paint, broken elevator button and uncomfortable beds and pillows.
The dreams, all inclusive met our expectations and then some. The staff was amazing. The food was good, and if something needed to be fixed always taken care of quickly. The resort has been there for some time, but there’s always someone working to clean fix Repair or just freshen up the building. You have to remember it is a beach resort, fights, weather, and thousands of thousands of tours every year. The beach in the ocean in front is a paradise with amazing snorkeling right at your foot. We went with our daughter and son-in-law into grandchildren, and do not regret our choice and plan to revisit this destination in the near future❤️😎 we also did two private tours through Toni Lopez Lopez, and neither disappointed with a waterfall tour privately for two of us and then all six of us for a snorkeling seven Bay tour. Our driver went out of his way to bring us to a pot of dolphins, which was an amazing experience for they recommend using them👍🏼😉
My wife and I recently travelled to the Dreams Resort in Huatulco for this first time this March and had the most amazing time there. The resort sits on one of the most beautiful bays we’ve ever seen. The rugged and unfettered landscape is beautiful and we never tired of taking in the wonderful vistas. Our experience here exceeded our expectations and this was largely due to the phenomenal team members at the resort who must be mentioned by name because they deserve all the credit for making our stay here so wonderful. The tireless efforts each day of the Entertainment Team assured that everyone at the resort had fun, were entertained and they kept the vibe positive and friendly! Neftali, Luis, Fernando, Nadxielii and Chris are unbelievable human beings and it was a privilege to get to know each of them during our stay. We will miss them very much. Around the pool and beach area we were very well taken care of by the wonderful friends we made Sandy, Alvaro, Eric and Imanol who always made sure we had an umbrella to shelter us from the sunshine and fresh beach towels each day. Sandy and Alvaro were extremely kind, caring and considerate and always stopped by throughout the day to chat with us and make sure we had everything we needed. We are truly grateful to have met them and to be able to share our stories with one another. We will miss seeing you every day and thank you so much for showing us such kindness we will never forget you! Restaurants and Bars We received wonderful treatment at all the Restaurants and bars, our hostesses always made us feel welcome, particularly Jael who patiently tried to teach us some Spanish each day as she showed us to our table. No matter which restaurant we dined in we received amazing service from Cecelia, Mario, Alejandra, Leonel, Antonio (Himitsu), Jesus, Alfonso, Nancy, Ricardo, Renata, Berna, Libni, Fernando, Ana and Legna. Our bartenders Guillermo, Maxinino, Alexis and Leticia knew exactly how we liked our beverages made each time we placed our order and spared a few moments of their time to teach us a little Spanish too! Our Room was always made up with beautiful flowers and petals on the bed, the lovely lady that took care of our room was Ysabel; so too was so sweet and kind to us during our stay! Thank you for making our room look so amazing. It was refreshing to come back to a newly refreshed room after a day on the beach or at the pool! The Front Desk Experience was also a pleasure especially when speaking with Alexis, Leonel and Alejandro. Shoutout to Alejandro who helped me organize a little surprise for my wife early one morning! We agree, based on the people alone, we would comeback to this resort in a heartbeat. There are so many other staff members that also work tirelessly to provide the guests with the best possible vacation and the aforementioned people are the ones that did that for us. Thank you!!! Robert and Candace
Our second visit and the only all inclusive I’ve ever re-visited. The best aspects of the resort continue to be its gorgeous beach location and the high level of service. Employees take pride in the resort and some have worked there many years. Shout out to seaside grill/oceana staff they are wonderful. The rooms are adequate but have some wear and tear. For example our balcony door didn’t function well and the furniture is showing age. The food is mostly good, I love that the package we booked allowed for unlimited à la carte dinners without having to make reservations. And no wristbands! There was minimal waiting for a table and sometimes not at all. Resort layout is great. It’s pretty low key in the evening. A show at 8 pm in the theatre or plaza (a bit too early, 830 would be better) and musicians in the lobby bar after that. There could be more shade structures at the pool and beach. You do need to be up very early to get the best spots. However, watching the sun come up over Tangolunda is a peaceful and beautiful experience so I personally did not mind having to get up early. Thank you Dreams staff for a wonderful vacation!
We stayed at the Dreams Huatulco during our recent trip to Mexico for spring break. It was a mixed experience and I will try to highlight both the positives and negatives. First, the check-in experience was good - staff were welcoming, helpful, and friendly. We arrived around 3:30PM and our room was not available for another hour so we found a snack and explored a little around the resort. This was a bit annoying as we didn't have access to our swim gear or a change of clothes. It wasn't immediately clear why our room wasn't available, but we later found out that the previous occupants had negotiated a late checkout. Again, this was annoying and the communication could have been better - not the greatest first impression. Once we got to the room (an oceanfront Preferred Club room), we found it to be clean but well worn. The beds are very springy, i.e. when one of us rolled over, the other was sure to feel it. Overall, everything worked well in the room, but I had to reconnect the cable to the TV to pick up any channels. We found the food to be hit and miss - the buffet options were honestly not great. We found the options in the buffet were often lukewarm and the variety pretty limited. The service in the buffet venues was quite good, and they did make my son french fries when there was nothing else he would eat. The a la carte dining options were better (we tried both the Seaside Grill and Himitsu) - food quality was improved with similar service experiences. Bar service was generally quite good with limited line ups, friendly bartenders. My son especially enjoyed the ice cream and pretzels available at the Coco Cafe. Poolside experience was good, but I will highlight that the pool chair game is in full swing with many folks getting up as early as 5AM to claim pool chairs for the day. We were always able to find one (because we only needed one), but if you need more than one be prepared to wake early and rush to the pool to stake your claim. Lots of folks were complaining amongst themselves about this - we decided to join the game instead. My son enjoyed the poolside oversized chess board, which was surprisingly well used. The beach was absolutely beautiful and the location on Tangolunda Bay is the highlight of this resort. Snorkeling right off the shore is available and the resort has a number of water activities available including kayaks, paddleboards, sailing lessons, etc. My son really enjoyed the school of fish that live next to the rocks right at the shore, as well as the lizards that live in the rocks at the end of the beach. Nightlife was honestly too noisy for our liking. Our room directly fronted the plaza where live music and various theme nights are held. The noise generally shut down right around 10PM, but that's a little late when you're traveling with a kid who likes to rise early. What surprised me is how few people were attending these theme nights (aside from the ones that replaced the World Cafe as a dining option, i.e. Oaxacan Night, Caribbean Night). We found ourselves wondering why the resort would negatively impact the stay of the clear majority for the benefit of the 25 people who were actually attending these live music events. Did it ruin our stay? No, but it was a definite annoyance. In short, will we return to Huatulco? Absolutely, but I think we'll try a different resort next time around.
Great location, beach, pool and service! Muy bueno!
Thank you for your Hospitality Dreams Hautulco Resort & Spa. The accommodations were spotless and comfortable. We enjoyed the many theme nights, the friendly staff and the amazing menus each day. There's something for every age group. You will feel like family at Dreams Hautulco!
This was our second visit here, first time 16 years ago. Would highly recommend and we would like to go back. Staff amazing, resort stunning, food and amenities all fantastic. Love the proximity to the beach.
We had a great trip at Dreams Huatulco! The views & pools were amazing with plenty of activities. Our daughter loved all of the activities she was able to do with the Explorers Club! There was something to do all day long & you can tell a lot of thought was put into creating a fun experience for the kids. Daniela, Beni, Gaby & Melissa were so kind & welcoming.
Great location but becoming over priced. You really can’t beat the laid back beautiful location but the hotel needs some up grades and the food quality has gone downhill and the option are becoming limited.
what a beautiful part of Mexico! Huatulco is like old Mexico with a quiet charm where you feel very safe and the pace is slow and the sun is hot given how close you are to the equator. We were fortunate to hook up with a local guide named Oscar from top tours. Huatulco definitely recommend you visit the magic waterfall and do the turtle release if You have never done it before. This property seems to have an abundance of happy and pleasant staff, which means you never really have to wait in line for anything. The only downfall would be the glaring lack of beach chairs. I was very surprised that I had to get up as early as 5:30 in the morning to put personal items on the chairs. Otherwise, you wouldn’t get anything all day. The Staff are great about trying to help locate chairs, but it’s frustrating that it feels almost like the panic of the pandemic where everyone rushes out to save a chair for the day when the sun has not yet risen. This property also boasts Six pools of which two are adult only. There’s one that’s definitely geared more towards little people and then another one located across from the Japanese restaurant that I would call the cocoon pool filled with Lots of super seniors and a very quiet vibe if that’s what you’re looking for. So many options and variety. There are three large pools that overlook the ocean and each one has a different vibe, including music at one. We really liked that this property did not make you wear wristbands and restaurants were first come first serve with buzzer if you had to wait. definitely loved the vibe in huatulco and was pleased with our choice of properties.
It was amazing Banley was amazing service and helping is out !!!
Both myself and my wife loved this resort ! From the breathtaking views while sitting in one of the three oceanfront infinity pools to walking along the wonderful beaches it was absolutely amazing! We tried each one of the restaurants and never once had a bad meal, and every morning enjoyed a coffee that Fernando made us in the Coco cafe! Have to shout out to Leonel A. And Fidel at reception they both were so kind and welcoming all 10 days ! Eddie and the crew working the pool side drink service were phenomenal, the mango Mescalitos just kept coming !!!! To the housekeepers you all went above and beyond to ensure the room was always clean and the turndown service was extra special ! Thank you to all the staff at Dreams Huatulco you made our stay memorable we will definitely be back again !
Just got back from holiday at Dreams, and sad to say I will never go back. Its a 3 star experience. Those 3 stars are for the wonderful staff, beach, pools and entertainment. The hotel is very old and outdated, but clean, and the food is horrible. However, shout out to the Italian restaurant, very good food and service, we ate there twice. I ended up having an upset stomach for 4 of my 7 days. Watched a staff member in the Seaside Grill take dirty glasses off of a table, swirl some water in them and use a napkin to wipe off the rim of glass and put it back out on a table! As well, went to the gym every morning, no AC, it was cooler outside. I did really enjoy the daily water aerobics, staff made it really fun. We did really enjoyed the beautiful beach and loved the International and Mexican night entertainment, they were excellent and beautiful costumes.
Received exceptional service in the Preferred Lounge from Fabian, Graciela, Jorge, and Patricia. Thank you all.
We had a great time at Dreams! We thoroughly enjoyed the ocean view from our room. The rooms were all you needed and kept clean and stocked throughout our stay. The service was exceptional throughout the stay (Brenda, Cecilia, Abigail, Fernando) all were so friendly and attentive. Everyone at the resort was very friendly! It was quiet, and a smaller resort but with enough food options for everyone along with amenities. The multiple pools were great to have so you could pick and choose where you wanted to stay. We did one tour with Julio to the waterfalls and that was definitely a highlight! Our one suggestion would be to have a better system with getting your chairs out by the pool in the morning. Many times we had to reserve early in the morning as everyone else was out earlier than us to reserve with their towels. Thank you for a great stay!
Great hotel, friendly and helpful staff. The chair game is horrendous to sit by the ocean side pools. If you aren’t out there by 5am, you aren’t getting a spot. You can ask for a chair and umbrella and they will bring them to you however I saw. Food was really good. Lots of options. The temperature of the food was mostly like warm but flavours and presentation were really well done! Will be going again for sure!
Location is Great, Beach is great, Really good snorkeling at the southern edge of the beach by the rocks. Rooms so so. Beds terrible. Not nearly enough pool chairs and who wants to get up at 5 AM while on vacation to save one? That is what you will have to do if you book this resort. My wife and I went with two other couples and all of us got some sort of stomach ailment. Pool missing hundreds of tiles which results in sharp areas and cut feet. Safe food handling techniques need to be taught and enforced. I watched gill cooks put raw chicken on the grill and then immediately serve food with the same tongs. Very limited activities during the day. Average age of the guests is in their seventies.
We have travelled to Huatulco, Mexico since 1994, more than 12 times. We have stayed at the Dream Huatulco hotel when it was formerly run by Royal Maeva, Royal Gala and then when it was rebranded to Dreams by AM Resorts and have never had an issue getting sick. But, now the Hyatt Dreams Huatulco Resort and Spa is running the hotel the past 2 years. And while it is nice to see fresh floral arrangements and a few improvements to the hotel....the food, drinks and other areas have declined. Our current stay at Hyatt Dreams Huatulco was from February 24 to March 3, 2026. We travelled with 2 other couples. These friends booked the Dreams Huatulco hotel because I promoted the previously high standards in location, cleanliness, 7 pools, beachfront, lounge chairs, towel service and very good food served at 5 restaurants on site. Two of us in our party got terribly sick, among at least several more guests we spoke to during our week there. More than likely from the poor food handling and preparation. The staff, especially at buffet and some restaurants DO NOT practice proper hygiene in providing clean glasses, cutlery, utensils etc. Rarely did we see food servers, especially at the buffet area, washing hands while preparing foods, like eggs or omelets or serving foods. Food was not always hot, when it should be and lukewarm when it should be cold. Staff clean table after table with the same dish clothes. We actually saw servers return glasses, while another helper rinsed them in water only and gave the glasses back to be put back on a table. We spent several days, in our rooms trying to overcome nausea, diarrhea and stomach cramps. My friend was so ill, that thankfully the hotel had a Doctor available. It cost them $16,000 peso (approximately $1200 Cdn). The Dr. provided the necessary medications to help our friend and others get better in 2 to 3 days. The hotel did provide steamed rice and a plate of steamed vegetables, to our rooms, to compensate our dietary restriction. This is important to note: My party of 6, was informed by two managers on our last day at the hotel that our concerns regarding food preparation and food areas, are taken seriously. IDK!!! He said, food safety is a fundamental pillar for them and they have a third party quality standards that is suppose to guarantee the quality of their products. Our suggestion....get another third party company with much higher food safety standards and staff training on food preparation and handling. Get more dish washers! Rooms are dated but everything worked well in the room. Our balcony had a hot tub, but I would not get into that thing. Prior to Hyatt takeover, the bathrooms had a tray of beautiful and fragrant products; shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body cream, sunscreen, as well as soap bar. Now it is cheap soaps, conditioner in dispensers and a tiny bar of soap. The hotel is easy to get around, especially for older clients, except getting down to the beach area...that would be challenging. Lots of pools, but if you want a lounge chair, pool front, you better get there way before 7 am and stay in the chair. If you go back to your room, other guests will have hotel staff remove your towels and personal belongings, which you will find in lost and find area. If you choose to come down later in the morning, you may not get a lounge chair pool side, or they may not have any more towels (because some folks that have ¨Privileges not only get orange towels, but will have extra set of brown towels too. If you are lucky to get a lounge chair, then they may not have an umbrella, so be sure to bring lots of sunscreen 50 with you. Preferred guests also have a whole section of beachfront that seems to have lots of beachfront chairs and loungers, so they do not need to reserve, but we saw them also have poolside chairs....unattended and that is not right. Maybe the hotel should reinstate towel card system...how about computerized tracking, instead of paper and pencil tracking. Dreams Huatulco needs LOTS more palapas and lounge chairs on the beach to accommodate clients who prefer to be on the beach. This hotel holds some wonderful memories and times spent over 12 years for my family, but we feel Hyatt management as cut so many corners and not focused on cleanliness, good food and its preparation and handling that we will still come to Huatulco, but try Barcelo next time. Not sure I would recommend this hotel any longer and nor do I feel it is a 4 or 5 star. What you will like about this hotel: The staff is very nice! Super nice Try breakfast from Oceana Seaside restaurant, outside with a beautiful view. The Japanese restaurant also very good Nightly entertainment on some evenings is good but short. Usually done by 9:30 pm The Smoothie and Espresso bar is great. They serve ice cream there too. Our favourite entertainer: Ben Indi (@benindimusic ) at poolside from 4 pm to 5 pm twice a week. He is awesome! Infinity pools overlooking Tongalunda Bay....beautiful. I am sorry to say, I wish I had a more favourable review.
The 6 Floor accommodations are excellent!
Fantastic vacation. The hotel was super clean and well kept. Food was fresh and always lots of it! A big shout out to Yadira at the Seaside breakfast restaurant, thank you for making us feel so welcome! (love your eyeshadow!) Definitely will stay at Dreams Huatulco again.
Great service and great smile from our server Ivan!! Restaurant world Cafe.
Resort was beautiful. Grounds were immaculate. Staff were fabulous and went above and beyond. Special thanks to Sandy , Alberto at prefers club beach. Eddy at the bar and Julio. Janet room maid. Meals were excellent.
The team at El Patio restaurant were the most charming and friendly we’ve ever met. This was authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest, and by far the best food of the six restaurants at this luxurious resort. They hosted an Oaxaca night with the specialties of the region, and had two amazing live music and dancing shows. Bravo team El Patio!
Another great vacation at the Dreams Huatulco. Nancy and Eduardo took excellent care of us . Staff is extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy.
One of the best hotels that we have had our holiday in, wonderful location, wonderful staff, great food , beautiful room , very clean , good amenities, beautiful beaches. The only suggestion i like to make is that to change the sun beds in the premier section and also the umbrellas since most of them broke and to widen the section so is not to crowded .
We absolutely have fallen in love with Huatulco and the team at Sea Side is incredible! Angel went above and beyond for our family multiple times and made us feel so welcome! Aaron, Daniel, Sergio, Jesus, Alfonzo, Gonzalo, Jarion, & Rodrigo make the best team! Thank you for treating our family so well! This is our second time at Dreams and we cannot wait to come back!
A preview for our 50th anniversary next year.so just my Wife and I. Check in was the best we have experienced in the resort world. Great room, Clean , comfortable and every thing functioned as was the whole resort. Beach was beautiful a little steeper than preferred but still great swimming and snorkeling while we were there. Food I would class as good plus. Portofino was excellent. Staff were a 10 across the board . Looking to returning with our whole family next year for our 50th if we can negotiate a fair price :) "Missed the every night shows" of the resorts in the big resort towns but if the laid back atmosphere of Huatulco is the cost so worth it. .
Very pleasant experience and courtesy staff. One thing would like to change is the availability of ice cream in cafe. Concierge was very helpful with our room. Rooms could use a refresh, but was very clean.
Great location, atmosphere, food and cleanliness .entertainment and water sports was my highlight
Fabulous location. My husband had to seek medical care while we were there and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of care he received. Dr. Andres is awesome! Such a kind and caring doctor. His communication is very good.
The staff made this destination memorable for sure. Sandy at the Preferred Beach went above and beyond to take good care of us. This resort is remarkable clean. The beach and aquatic wild life are entertaining. Jeri, our yoga instructor added a lot to our stay. We will be back!!!
Every thing at the resort was wonderful. Room, pool and drink service was perfect. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. That said the food was terrible. Both buffet and al la carte food was questionable, food that should be hot was cool and food that should be cold was warm. The last straw was going to the Italian restaurant and my surf and turf came out with a hot plate and cold steak and two sad little shrimp. The first time in my life that I’ve not eaten a restaurant meal that I’ve been brought. They didn’t even bother to microwave the precooked steak before putting it on the warmed plate.
Great location on a beautiful bay. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. They put in a lot of effort for evening entertainment.
Excellent service, friendly and attentive Alejandra and Nahomi were fantastic . It was a pleasure having there serve us at World’s Cafe Dreams hotel. Well done!! Muchos gracias!
Cena año nuevo
Habitaciones viejas , instalaciones descuidadas , camastros i suficientes , personal en recepcion anti empaticos , área en 6to piso de preferred para la basura
Best vacation ever!! We’ll be back. Just the right amount of activities and relaxation. Lots of places to cool off when the heat is too much. Room air conditioning was excellent. Very clean. Good food. Awesome staff, they remember your name and your drink, great service on the beach and just genuinely nice people.
Always friendly staff, clean tidy rooms , quiet, Nice atmosphere food was great all staff very helpful when in need felt safe there at all times
Wonderful experience! Staff is very friendly! Renata at the seaside grill always had a smile! Nef at activities was fun and very helpful! The water aerobics instructors deserve a shout out as well! We love Huatulco and can’t wait to come back! Thank you very much!!
Beautiful resort. Small which made access to the pools, beach, and our room very easy. Didn't seem too busy, we always were able to access chairs beside a pool or on the beach. We found something we liked at each meal as there was lots of variety at the main buffet. The drinks were excellent and the poolside services was spot on. Rooms were clean and bright, and our king mattress was very comfortable! It is a smaller resort which has it's advantages, but that limits the activities onsite. However, access to activities outside the resort were extremely easy and it was a $10 cab ride into town. This was safe and easy.
Wonderful service, food and facilities but the best was the staff. Always helpful, always polite, always serving with pleasure. Brenda and Noe at the World cafe were fantastic!
We stayed here for the first 2 weeks of December. Check-in went well and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The room was fine but some of the floor tiles were a bit loose and clicked when stepped on. The locking mechanism on the sliding door to the balcony had been pried with tools to the point of being completely useless so there was no way of locking that door! Of the two elevators nearest our room, only one was in service with no indication of why the 2nd one was not in service. The floor in the one that was working was a bit "spongy" and the floor tiles were severely cracked which gave us a bit of an uncomfortable feeling, wondering if the floor was rotten?? There is no excuse for that and the floor needs to be fixed! The room was clean and quiet. Again, the staff were all very good at their jobs. The fitness center was on the ground floor but there was no rowing machine and I have one at home so that's typically the only machine I use so we did not frequent that facility. The pools were all well kept but finding a chaise in the shade was a challenge. People go out in the early morning and reserve their chaise lounges for the day. We had 14 days of hot sun and felt that this place needs much more shade shelter. We found a palapa on the beach one day but the ground was sloping badly and the plastic chaise lounges were in very poor (garbage dump) condition. They need replacement badly so we found a shady spot under some trees at the pool out back and that's where we stayed most days. We did not pay for a 4.5 star property to sit in a broken chaise lounge on a slope! Knock off 2 stars on that count. There were no poolside activities at the pool out back except Archery at 10 am daily so we missed out on the various organized activities that went on at the oceanside pools because we needed the shade. We often read hotel reviews in which someone complains about the food or the bed, etc. so we frequently write them off as being too fussy but in conversation with others at this hotel, they often and willingly volunteered that the food here is poor. A sentiment that I shared whole heartedly but it was always others that brought the matter up (so I was not alone in my thinking). Having said that, there were a few meals that we had in the specialty restaurants that were actually quite good but more often than not, meals (lunch and supper) in the buffet (World Cafe) were disappointing. In fairness, the morning egg chefs at both the World Cafe and the Seaside Grill were both excellent. The food here was my biggest complaint and after hearing similar comments from others, I would suggest that this property is far from the 4.5 stars that it is rated at and is quite over-priced for the food quality that was presented. We both had a bout with stomach problems. I don't know if that was a result of the food, the water, the ice in the drinks, etc.?? We always travel with our own meds so we were able to clear it up quickly. Bar drinks were hit and miss. When we got there, they had Ballantine's scotch on the shelf but they ran out and did not replace it. When we ordered Kahlua with cream, we got a cheap, coffee liqueur substitute which really surprised me because that product is made in Mexico. Aside from my "belly aching", the location is great with a lovely, sandy beach, warm ocean and warm pools for a relaxing vacation.
Beautiful location, great staff. Hotel is showing its age. We experienced no hot water and toilet problem. Not a 5 -star hotel. More like 3 and one-half.
We had a wonderful 7 night stay at dreams Huatulco! We spent majority of our day in the infinity pool which was lovely. Make sure you reserve your chairs early as by 9 AM most chairs are reserved. Great food and great service, we will definitely be back!
We had a great time! Eddie aka Porky, Daniel and Guillermo made our stay so much better than we could have ever expected!! All the staff at dreams wer excellent but those 3 really went above and beyond!
This was our fifth visit to Dreams Huatulco. It has the best infinity pools of any Dreams we have visited. The beach area was excellent as well. We could snorkel right off the shore. Beds were comfortable. Not much to offer preferred guests. Staff was very friendly.
Great location, weather was unbelievable and the staff was very friendly. My family had a great time. There were not many food options like the other Dreams hotels.
Fernando and Alna were amazing entertainment staff. SO fun! Fernando does an awesome line dance to Cotton Eye Joe and Alna really worked my arms in water aerobics. We had a great stay. 10/10
Alna and fernando were amazing entertainment staff, they always had a smile and something positive to say! Definitely made music trivia so much more engaging! Thank you! Merry Christmas
It is a beautiful place. The resort is very cozy. It has 6 swimming pools. We were there in December, 2025. They were fully occupied but it did not feel crowded. The food was great. The staff was genuinely caring and friendly. The beach was easily accessible and beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We went to a town. It was very safe.
Do not go here if you are looking for peaceful and quiet. Food is good, bedrooms are loud with people whistling and talking at all hours walking down the halls. No respect for anybody that wants to sleep. Gym is small and mediocre, drinks are delicious.
This was our fifth visit to Dreams Huatulco so obviously we like it . Beautiful setting on Tangolunda Bay. Excellent service from a wonderful staff, especially Sandy and Alvaro at the beach/ Graziela in the lounge and Luis in the Mezcal bar. Also The food has much improved since the pandemic and is back to the excellent standards of previous years. The room had a fantastic view of the Bay. Very Clean and quiet. Good value too.
We have been to Dreams Huatalco many times and never been disappointed. The staff are excellent and always so friendly. Everyone goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great vacation. The hotel and rooms are very comfortable and always clean, they seem to work constantly to keep everything running smoothly. The pools are beautiful as is the beach once again pristine. Drinks and food are great. We especially like the Italian (Portofino) and Asian ( Himitsu) We love Huatalco and its unspoiled environment. We are happy to always return to Dreams.
We stayed at the Dreams from Nov29-Dec8. What a beautiful, well laid out resort. I love that the infinity pools were so close to the ocean and beach. Hot weather every day and the food was delicious! All the staff were friendly from the porters , the cleaning staff, and the waiters and waitresses to the managers of the restaurants. I wish I could remember Everyone’s name. Eddie and Primi were the best servers at the pools. Always timely, great service! The managers, Diego at the Himitsu restaurant, and Rogilio at the Buffett made sure to provide that little extra that made our time there so special. Julio , the manager at the Portofino went above and beyond to provide a special meal for the 8 of us. One extra thing that the Dreams does, is provide a program for Harris Hawks and their handler to patrol the resort to scare away all the little black birds that try to come eat your food, and contaminate towels and loungers. All in all, a wonderful trip. We will definitely go back!
We have an amazing week on the beach at Dream Huataluco with the family. My 79-year-old mother-in-law was able to enjoy the resort and beach, and experience travel comfortably. The food was great, and the mescal drinks were a great way to experience the local treasures.
Everyone from Fernando, Julio,Aaron at the seaside grill, sous chef Rogelio at Portofini restaurant the entire pool activity team to the cook who made us awesome omelettes every morning, Tavo and his trusty Harris Hawk keeping the Crackles under control Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas and an awesome New Year Hope to see you all soon John and Wilma
The weather is great, food is delicious, resort is comfortable and well laid out but it is the people that make the Dreams fantastic. We have been coming to the Dreams for many years and continue to see lots of familiar friendly faces. The people that work here obviously enjoy their jobs and it shows. We celebrated our 40th Anniversary while at the Dreams and Julio the Manager at the Portofino arranged a wonderful private meal for us and our friends. We were so happy with the meal and the celebration that we wanted to also thank the Chef. Julio brought out Rogelio the Dreams Sous Chef and we were able to thank him personally for the wonderful meal he prepared. Our favorite restaurant is the Italian (Portofino’s) due to the quality of the food, the atmosphere and the Spanish coffee to finish the meal off. The show that Julio puts on when he makes the Spanish coffee is spectacular and must be seen to be believed. The Himitsu is their Japanese restaurant and the food is very good with lots of selection. The manager Diego is very professional and goes above and beyond to ensure that you are taken care of and that all of your needs are met. Daniel and Neftali were frequently coming by to check on us and top off our wine. Every day we had breakfast at the World Café and always ate more than we should. Lazara has been making the omelets for many years and is a master at getting the eggs cooked to perfection. Rogelio Manages a great cast of servers including Feliciano, Carmelo, Lucia, Arturo, Oliva, Cecilia and Mario. Rogelio stopped to talk to us every day to see how we were doing and see if there was anything we needed or wanted. The infinity pools are so refreshing with great views of the ocean. Drink service around the pool starts between 10:00 and 10:30 and if you are lucky you will get Primi or Eddie as your server as they work so hard in the hot Huatulco sun. Even though they are busy they are happy to talk to you and make sure you have everything you need. Many of the resorts in Mexico have an issue with blackbirds flying around the restaurants contaminating the food. The Dreams Resort have brought in the service of Corsarios to deal with this issue. Tavo and his Harris Hawk Eagon patrol the grounds and scare away the unwanted blackbirds. It is fascinating to watch them at work. We have been to Huatulco numerous times but we come back to the Dreams because of all the wonderful people.
We spent a week at Dreams Huatulco and enjoyed our time at this resort. Staff are amazing and resort is very well maintained as it is a bit older. Rooms were very clean and cleaning staff does a wonderful job. We chose the Preferred Club package and to be honest would not do that next time as we did not see as much value. We ate at the Italian restaurant Portofino most evenings and a special Thanks to the Maitre D'. Beach area and location are spectacular and you cannot ask for better weather, sunny and warm everyday.
Phenomenal resort with excellent food, no wrist bands, no need for dinner reservations - honestly, it was excellent! The staff beads over backwards to make the stay easy and most enjoyable. Variety of entertainment. Location exceptional. Beautiful clear water. 5 swimming pools and beach within a few steps. Great rooms, fantastic experiences! Loved our vacation!
The most friendly and helpful staff I’ve experienced. Ivory question and request was answered quickly and with a smile. Be sure to vist my guys Galdino and Gabino at the Rendevous Bar!
Great location. Beautiful beach on the bay. Clean and comfortable beds. Easy access to all activities and restaurants.
The weather was great the whole time there. Lots of chairs at the various pools and everything within easy walking distance. The after dinner theatre show was surprisingly good - and was Christmas themed! We also lucked out as some sea turtles hatched and were released on a night we were there.
We have been visiting this resort for over 11 years and we will continue to visit because of all the kind and caring people we have met that take such good care of us while we visit. Checking in with Fernando's warm welcoming smile at the concierge desk is always a great way to begin our stay. Everyday we have amazing service at the 6th floor lounge where Christina and Gresela always take great care of us. Ready with cold beers our morning Coffee and Mimosas! Heading out to the pool Sandy was so sweet and made sure we had all the accommodations we needed for the day. Big Thank you to Genaro from room service bringing us out bottle of champagne for the sunset each night. And of course the we can never thank Julio enough. He always goes above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Dinners were outstanding! Food was delicious all our favorite seafood dishes were on the table each night (thank you Julio) and also thank you to Jorge the restaurant manager. Special thank you to chef Rogelio preparing the food so deliciously and of course the great service from all the waiters throughout the week such as Felipe and Angel. The people and service we receive will continue to bring us back to our family at Dreams. Thank you for making it our home away from home.
This is our second time back to Dreams and everything was like we left it the first time. Relaxing, great accommodation, beautiful staff and amenities.
We have been here many times and always enjoy it. We had a trip with family and all three rooms were kept up and very clean. We like this resort because of the of the close proximity of the pools to the beach. Easy to do both! The staff were very friendly throughout the resort and the poolside/beach service was excellent as usual. Special thanks to Gadiel for always making sure we were looked after! We'll be back.
Food incredible. Diego and his Himitsu team treated us like royalty. Portofino, El Patio and Oceana food and service were outstanding (thanks to Aldo, Jesus). Rendezvous bar provided excellent service. Our housekeeper, Orelia was awesome. The hotel is kept beautifully clean. Beach is wonderful - nice to have a lifeguard on duty. Entertainment, particularly the dance group, was great.
Our experience was overall okay. We were mostly disappointed about not being to try the different restaurants for dinner. The Italian one was closed two days in a row, and then it was the seafood restaurant that was closed. Really irregular schedules; make sure you ask about that the day you arrive, so you can plan accordingly. One day, we found ourselves with no choice but to go to the Mexican restaurant, which was truly AWFUL. Most nights we ate at the Asian restaurant, which, thankfully, was delicious. Otherwise, I would be leaving fewer stars here. Noel, Giovanni, Antonio, and a few others (can't recall more names) were extremely attentive and pleasant. The service of the waiters at the pools was also excellent, even if they did take a while to bring back drinks for so many people. Our opinion is that it's worth it to pay a little more and stay at Secrets, Dreams' sister hotel in Huatulco, if you don't have kids with you. Secrets is always a great choice, especially if you're going for the gastronomy.
beach wonderful, excursions great, pools great, service wonderful. Food leaves something to be desired. Very safe location, town has excellent food, people are tremendous.
Loved the experience so much. Would return in a heartbeat, and although the hotel is on the older side, the hospitality and love we received was top notch.
Great getaway in paradise. Food was better than expected. Loved not having to make reservations. Lots of pools, nice beach. No trouble getting chairs. The grounds and setting are lovely. Room was ok. Very clean. Nice view. The staff really make this resort special. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and competent. We took taxis into town a few times to explore, shop and catch a local meal. We’re surprised that most guests we talked to thought us adventurous to do so. Folks Huatulco is safe and locals are nice.
Overall hotel seems to be getting run down. No music at pools. Hardly any activities. No entertainment crew. Staff that were there were very friendly Drink service at pools was great Second time we were there. Not likely going back
This resort at Dreams, Huatulco has become one of our favourite vacation spots. The beach is very easy to access for swimming and all the pools overlooking the ocean are beautiful. Rooms are comfortable with good mattresses The staff are extremely attentive to your every need or request. The food quality is very good and have we have enjoyed every meal. One, in particular, was on our last evening, we were treated to a beautiful meal at a private table. We had outstanding service. We’d like to acknowledge some of the staff who made our holiday so special: Food and Beverage manager, Julio and his team: Angel, Sergio, Antonio, Jesus, Sharen, Reyna, Renata just to name a few. Sad to leave but already planning our next visit.
Resort is older, good service, it's ok. Room clean, no coffee maker in the room. Very expensive for what you get. Noise level is good. Spa is $200USD per massage. Nice Spa facility. Only one main buffet restaurant. The best food was off the resort across the street.
All of the staff were pleasant and eager to be of assistance. In particular, Sandy, the beach concierge, was outstanding. She did a great job managing the loungers at the Preferred Beach, always with a happy smile on her face. It’s a difficult job dealing with some of the guests and she did it very well! Also Romualdo, the drink server, was great. So pleasant and always remembered our names. Both Sandy and Romualdo are excellent at what they do and are also studying English to do an even better job. Well done Sandy and Romualdo!
In Preferred Club: Cristina, Graciela and Judith are always so wonderful. No matter how many guests are in there, they make everyone feel at home. They make sure you have everything you need and then some. They are all so pleasant and professional. They truly care about what they do, and it shows. Guests who have been coming there for years absolutely love them. Genaro and Sergio made sure to bring us our late afternoon snacks promptly and with so much care. They made sure we had everything we needed and asked for. We miss Genaro in the Preferred Club. He was also so wonderful when he worked there. Julio always made sure we had all we needed at dinner. He along with the rest of the staff run things so smoothly and with such delight. They make our dinners extra special. We all love the show that comes with delicious coffee at the end. Our stay is always amazing and so hard to leave and go home. Can't wait to come back!!
Nice Resort, Nice Staff, Sandy at the Preferred Beach area is amazing and very attentive. Everthing is very close, lots of pools. The only negative is I thought the quality of the food could be better, I’ve been to a Dreams resort in the Maya Rivera and it’s much better.
Dreams is the most accurate name this place could have because it felt like I was living in a dream. There is so much to do from the moment you wake up. Swimming at the beach, playing games or painting by the pool. volleyball, dancing to live music at night, partying at the club in the late hours... And everywhere you go is someone ready to get you a drink. It's small enough that you start to make friends. The people you party with late at night will be the people you play volleyball with on the beach the next day, or dancing to live music. You might even find yourself at the same table during a special performance. Also, the romantic dinner on the beach is worth every penny, it was the cutest most romantic experience of my life. I really think it was the best 5 days of my life, and while I wish I could stay longer, it was so fun that even 5 days felt satisfying enough. Time passed slowly in the best way there. Like the whole world stopped for that time. Truly a magical experience.
4th time in Huatulco, 2nd time at Dreams. Staff is very attentive and helpful. A heartfelt thanks to Alvaro to help with our special (mobility) needs. We will return again. JnM Gross
We attended a friends wedding in November 2025 and were very much looking forward to the quality that we would expect from at Hyatt resort. The resort is on a lovely beach and close to town and the airport. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Sadly the food was underwhelming overall. We tried both the buffet restaurants as well as one of the à la carte restaurants. Both were unsatisfactory so we opted to go out for 5/7 dinners while we were there. The rooms were clean and offered everything we needed however they are dated and need some refurbishment.
Our very first visit to Mexico was memorable because of Dreams in Huatulco! The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The amenities were amazing we will definitely be back!
