Was very clean and the staff were lovely
The only problem was we booked this thinking we would have an area in our room to at least make breakfast. None of the facilities in the room were actually in the room that the website said there was. Which was disappointing as we had to spend more money eating out.
Quiet and easy walk to restaurants and shops
Convenient and comfortable
No tea spoons or wine glasses in room
Location Very nice breakfast
Have an electric blanket on the ved
Proximity to venue I needed to get to.
Dated. Not suitable for solo wheelchair traveller due to heavy entrance doors making for tricky access.
Space , view , cleanliness
Bed is extremely springy
Great situation on the Monaco inlet
Worst hotel iv ever stayed in, like a ghost town. No one working at reception took an hour to find someone to check in
Location. Architecture.
Everything was beautiful from reception at check-in to helping when I had to stay extra night very good
All was good
The age, the style, and the wood. The ironing board behind the mirror.
Some of the decor was a bit dated. No wardrobe to hang clothes.
Sky close to airport
Bed fridge noises no staff after 6
on arrival, the hotel looked nice from the outisde and reception was good
we were appalled by the dirty bedsheets, several hairs and stain. Raplacements arrived in a black bin liner - not good laundry process
Location
Small rooms narrow stair case to rooms front desk not attended had to message dated look
Location was great. Plenty of of street parking.
location - and price, there
was no help getting bags upto room, and their is no lift, even when i asked for help as had an injured shoulder, the manager just walked off and said he couldn't help, maybe he had a sore back LOL
Lovely relaxing place to stay. Units face the sun so nice and warm. The restaurant on the end isn't very friendly but not affiliated with hotel. The Honest Lawyer pub over the road is the place to dine. Also the bike tracks all go past down on corner. Lovely walk out to end of peninsula
Nothing
The location was perfect sea views,
Herbal tea options
Proximity and setting
Mouldy shower cubicle and totally blocked shower drain. Smelly drain. Uncomfortable bed.
Lovely location for walks and the great Honest Lawyer across the road is amazing for food and beverages .
Nothing beautifully maintained
Just put of tiwn enough...close tk mufic venue we attended
Impetsonnel but that was ok for us
Nice & quiet. Room was clean
Nothing
The room was very comfortable. Great shower. Good sized bed.
The bathroom floor was a bit sticky like the floor detergent had not been mopped off. The curtains on the window were quite thin. They need to be heavier to keep out the light at night. There was no herbal tea, being a bit picky, I know!!!
Location was great for our stay. The cafe next door was brilliant.
Very hard to communicate with staff no one on reception for chk in or chk out, went asked about the cafe adjacent to the accommodation we were told basically they didn't know anything about it!
Wonderful position, friendly staff
Quiet. Good location
Good Location and very clean rooms
Bed was comfortable. and linen was good.
Bedroom facilities were very poor. Bathroom extra small. Nowhere to put any cosmetics or bathroom items. Tea making facilities were also very poor. All on top of small fridge. Nowhere to plug in kettle. Had to move across room to plug in. The milk was a carton that you buy with a straw in it. No opening. Had to cut open and then it spilled everywhere. The kitchen facility was not much better. There was a toaster, but when I cooked toast there were no plates to put it on. All in all not very good.
Location and old world charm
Unfortunately I didn’t get much time in Nelson, and was stopping over for just one night. Late check in and very early check out meant I was only at the Grand Arden for about 9 hours. However, the staff I communicated with prior to my late arrival were very friendly and helpful, and made sure that once I had got there, all of the instructions were clear to allow easy check in. The room was very clean and comfortable.
N/A Didn’t stay long enough to find anything I didn’t like, and everything I encountered was really lovely. Wish I could’ve stayed longer!
Every thing was fine
No Hot water the next morning - had a cold shower
Charming building in the style of old English manor. More of an Air BB than a hotel
Location, comfortable bed, cleanness
Location was ok for 1 night stop over for our next journey
We arrived 50 minutes after check-in in time and was told our room wasn't ready and could we come back in 20 minutes. After travelling from Wellington. No was the answer. They gave us a room which hadn't been cleaned. The floor was filthy with coffee grounds everywhere. The room was just filthy. It's advertised with use if the pool, but its only for residents of the resort. I would avoid this place and look for something closer to town
The beds springs were damaged bed was very uncomfortable.
Location was good. It was nice and quiet. Rooms was made every day.
Suffered a power cut to the room around 8am Wasn't able to boil the jug Came back on about an hr later
Location
Tiny room. No dining facilities. No ideas as to where to find a drink or a restaurant. No lounge or community facility. No breakfast. Dated decor. Reception in huge room was strange when Reception cubby holes not functional.
Location is great and quaint setting
Receptionist not exactly friendly or accommodating
A large room with a good view, watching the sunset over the water was stunning
Reception hours were limited, the on-siite restaurant was closed (luckily the hotel across the road was open and the food was great) Dark and gloomy common areas, felt like the place was deserted.
Nice old building
Somehow they don’t take care as they should - eg cleaning the rooms was done with rooms open. As a guest you don’t need that.
We had a great staff at this character accommodation. It was well located for the event we were attending nearby. There was a couple of eateries nearby as well.
Very comfortable bed, good shower pressure.
No bike stand on property, surprising when on a cycle route and there's an adjacent eatery. Honest Lawyer has many. Receptionist gave key to my travel companion when he used the booking name. No confirmation of identity or thought for further security of booking or room. Clearly didn't recognise the name as feminine.
Nice big room, very comfortable.
There was strange noises coming from the atticm sounded like mice or something. Scurrying noises most of the evening but never during the day but then I was out most of the day.
Charming building
Very small bathroom
Room size
Over charged on first stay
Emplacement
Petit dej le dimanche à 9ou 10h (trop tard)
Nice views, handy location
Bed was uncomfortable and the “full room” shower takes itself a bit too literally.
Beautiful
Stairs
Location
There was a persistent buzzing noise from nearby electric motor
The manager was very helpful and lovely to deal with. Nice bathroom.
The whole place is run down. Stains on the carpet, little fridge standing on the carpet but not in a unit like an after thought. View out over a stagnant pond, tatty curtains. Clean but yellowing linen and over $200.00 per night. Generally disappointing, would never go back.
Bed was good and linen clean Bathroom was clean Location was quite good Towels changed daily Room size was ok
Cracked lampshade Windows didn't close properly Carpet quite stained Cracked tiles in the bathroom Handbasin quite crazed Towels in the bathroom could have been bigger and thicker - I am small, they barely went around me and were thin Dust quite thick on the skirting boards around the fridge - very visible Milk in the fridge could be improved by having a small bottle instead of a carton that had a straw Throw on the bed was very stained on the underside Gorgeous pool was advertised on the website but not available to Hotel people The pool was the reason I booked here as it is summer - very disappointed when I learned I couldn't have access
Cozy and comfortable
I don't like the fact that the duvet did not have any cover and that there's only one clean sheet to separate it from the bed. The pillows are thin.
Good position
Needs updating
Beautiful building and surroundings area but that was it.
Definitely not a hotel. Basically a room with a bed and en suite. The pool isn't available for hotel guest and no room service or restaurant available on site. We ask for room to bed made up when we were out. Came back to bed beein very badly made up and pillows thrown where ever on the bed. . Extremely overpriced for what you get . Would definitely not recommend.
A delightful property with fantastic location.
Great views over the estuary. Lovely and quiet at night. Nice spot to relax.
The place looks amazing and very unique style
Not many food options available, the restaurant next door was good but other eateries were far away
Comfortable, spacious room. On arrival, the guy was very helpful. The rooms were big and beds very comfortable.
Hard to find staff after we had checked in. Even when I rang reception, no one was around. The restaurant next door is close but the breakfast was not good.
Comfortable and clean, despite being next to the airport we hardly heard any planes. The Brick Eatery next door was excellent, would highly recommend! Facilities were good and there were laundry facilities in the complex you could pay to use. We were able to walk to the airport easily along the cycle track.
It was odd that reception was only open for certain hours 9-7pm and if you arrived late/needed assistance you had to pay $50 call out charge. Not what I’d expect from a hotel selling itself as ‘luxury’. You could walk into Stoke in 20 minutes but would need a taxi to get into the centre of town.
We had asked for ground floor and was granted this but on arrival we were told no ground floor available. The good thing is that the staff carried our cases upstairs for us.
Old charm
No reception and no breakfast
Easy check-in /checkout,. Classic exterior, near airport Small refrigerator, hot water kettle.
Small room on 1st floor, needing to go through multiple doors to access room. No table. No closet. No microwave.
Nice location overlooking Monaco estuary. Very comfortable bed and spacious room.
The guy who checked us in was helpful but after that we found it hard to find staff later. Reception often unmanned. No answer when I phoned the front desk with a question. No one there when we checked out at 10 a.m.
It was quaint place, the room was clean, was surprised to see a bidet in the bathroom :) The bed was too hard for us but some people like that. Once you collect the key you are left to do your own thing. The view out the window was lovely.
The room was smaller than we thought. Walls are a bit thin so could hear the neighbours TV. We managed to beat the final check-in time of 5pm.
Beautiful building and nice Room
I was so scared and felt Unsafe due to another hotel stayer screaming: arguing for over an hour. I reported it to the reception who did act on that . However it continued and I really felt scared for her/ as didn’t know if there was violence aswell
Great location and view. Nice grounds.
I called twice just before check-in time, but no answer. Unacceptably poor service. Turned up 10 minutes before check-in and desk not manned, there was a sign saying text this number if no-one around, which I did. Nothing happened. Went looking for staff, no-one around. Eventually rang the cell phone number I had texted and someone answered and showed up. Totally unacceptable to have the desk unmanned at check-in time. Coffee table in the reception had a layer of dust visible from across the room. Staff were dressed informally, they need to be instantly recognisable as staff. Room had a noise outside like a woodpecker banging on something all night randomly. Next morning I was in the carpark and another guest approached me and asked if I had seen any staff as the desk was unmanned... Shame this fine property has gone downhill, needs some attention to detail. Doors open to laundry/staff access, this should all be invisible to guests.
The setting is great ,comfortable quote
Mooi kamers
Helaas geen ontbijt mogelijk
Lovely building and outlook
The linen (towels) could do with an upgrade
