Dined at the restaurant. Exquisite food in a lovely dining room. Attentive friendly table service by Alexa on a quiet Sunday night.
The hotel staff was courteous and friendly. The room was clean and spacious. I needed to have a lightbulb changed and it was promptly addressed by maintenance. The parking lot was secure. The library was a lovely place to find some quiet.
Restaurant and Bar were closed. Went for our anniversary, we wanted to toast. Pool was not open either
Wonderful on all counts
The grounds were beautiful, the room was lovely. Clise to everything. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. Lots of free parking. Beautiful place.
Excellent boutique Inn with a spa. Set aside from the main strip the property is beautiful with lovely gardens. The rooms are clean and modern. The breakfast was fantastic. Second time staying here and will return.
Donna at the front desk was excellent
Beautiful location next to the lake and close to town
We had friends visiting us for a week and decided to end our visit with a stay at the beautiful Oban Inn. Location and premises are perfect. We began our stay with beverages in the beautiful garden and enjoyed a delicious dinner in their dining room. Our friends stayed in the main building, we were in a second building. Rooms were a good size with a comfortable bed. We had to leave early to get our friends to the airport and the staff made sure our breakfast was served quickly. Sorry our stay was so short. Hope to come back again soon.
I like the comfort, the quietness and the urbanity of the staff. I didn't like the lack of place to hang wet towels.
The pool and hot tub were not in service. For the amount I paid to stay there, I was expecting to use the advertised amenities.
We were only there for a night. Staff very friendly and the room was lovely. We’d go back.
The property has gorgeous landscaping and is very walkable to the golf course and shops and restaurants. The spa was fairly priced for a wonderful treatment.
Great place to stay for visiting area wineries.
The Oban Inn has always been one of our favorite stays.
Pool closed by health Dept. Food terrible. Kitchen poorly run.. A disgrace! Hotel no one in charge. I got a full refund. Never will stay there again. Not safe. Looks like amateur cooking. Should have Health and Fire inspections. Owner dont care.
We stayed at Niagara on the Lake for one night and loved our stay at the Oban Inn. Lovely and clean room, peaceful and nice bathroom.
Outstanding experience. Hadn’t eaten here for about three years. Delighted to report restaurant superb. Ambiance, food and service high class throughout. Jimmy our server was great and helped to make a memorable evening. Wouldn’t hesitate to either return or recommend. Keep up the great work.
Breakfast was slow…40 minutes No fan in the bathroom
The Oban Inn is looking run-down, and is in need of some maintenance. Stayed 4 Nights in June. The restaurant food was excellent ( I recommend it), and the rooms were very clean, but the staff’s attention to detail is poor and the condition of the Inn itself is in need of maintenance. Multiple windows (in rooms and in the restaurant dining room) have had their seals broken leaving unsightly condensation stains for guests to look at while they eat (see photos). Regarding the staff’s attention to detail - the restaurant menu provided in the rooms is not current – the actual restaurant menu was different, so don’t get set on your order hopes up before you arrive, and the in-room coffee machines have not been descaled in years. Additionally, paint is peeling all around the outside of the building, and the entrance to the Inn is covered in old spider webs in the corners that simply needed to be swept away.
The hotel made a great first impression on arrival—it’s in a stunning location with lots of potential. However, we were disappointed by how poorly maintained the exterior was. Several areas, especially around the gym, were covered in spider webs, and our outdoor patio had broken decking and mildew, making it feel neglected. The inn does have a pool, which is a nice bonus, but it’s quite small and unfortunately offers no parasols or shaded areas, which made relaxing there difficult in the heat. The food, however, was very good and definitely a highlight of our stay. Sadly, our friends’ room was unimpressive and left them disappointed. With a bit of TLC and attention to detail, this place could be truly fantastic.
Nice and friendly staff. Quiet and convenient location. Really close to the lake. Enjoyed our stay.
Extremely friendly staff. Hazel made you feel like you were the most important guest staying there. Will return for sure.
We stayed here for 1 night in a balcony room. The room was of the traditional style and quite small however the balcony was a nice addition. There was ample parking and beautiful gardens. The staff were excellent. We didn't try the restaurant.
Amazing bed and pillow. Very comfortable.
The Oban Inn is charming. A quiet getaway from the hussel and bussel of the downtown and yet an easy walk from all the action.

So clean and nice.
The property is beautiful and love the history of the Inn.
I booked this solo trip to celebrate a milestone birthday. It was everything I wanted. Quiet, relaxing and peaceful. The building is beautiful, the spa was amazing. Im hoping to plan another visit in the future.
Spent 3 wonderful days visiting and staying at the Oban Inn. Extremely friendly staff. Rebecca our wait staff for breakfast was amazing. Room was lovely and the grounds were beautiful. Dinner there one night was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
The room was very cozy on a rainy afternoon
We have stayed in Niagara On The Lake many times, this was our 1st time at the Oban Inn & we were pleasantly surprised.
A two night get away to see a play, golf, bike and visit a winery. Great location and wonderful staff, especially Hazel!
Only complaint was getting on to the internet with I pads. Have not had any issue with that in any previous stays when in a wedding garden suite. We were on the 2nd floor this time. Staff were able to get us connected. Thanks!
Great room ... great greeting at registration
We had a comfortable and quiet stay. Friendly staff. Area very walkable….
Library was interesting? Need better selection of games, loved the mangolia trees, would like to come back in the summer to enjoy the pool.
Terrific hospitality. Room amenities were very nice. It was off-season and snowy or I would’ve spent more time out on the little patio deck. Very charming!
This place is beautiful
Amazing building
Easy check in: delightful and helpful staff, outstanding room
Very nice lounges over looking the lake, small spa, very friendly and on the ball Staff. Room is good, all room views are great, but furniture needs upgrade.
Fantastic restaurant.
Amazing hotel in a fantastic location.
Always love the Oban Inn. Lovely place to stay, very welcoming and close to all attractions in NotL
It was nice.
View
Staff was great. Water in shower was a bit cold
Such a lovely place and outstanding staff. Highly recommended
The hotel is well-located, making it easy to walk to Queen Street shopping and restaurants, or to stroll down by Lake Ontario. The staff was friendly, and the room was very clean. However, the room temperature was a big issue. It was too hot, and there was no way to adjust the temperature, which made it a bit uncomfortable for sleeping. Additionally, the bar closed early at 9:30 pm (this was on a Friday/Saturday), which was a bit of a letdown for those who wanted to relax later in the evening. Overall, a decent stay, but a few improvements could make a big difference.
The Oban Inn is lovely and quaint. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were pleasant. On a downside, our bathroom drain was plugged, and was never dealt with.
We have stayed her a few times and are never dissatisfied! Great value and amazing service and staff
Beautiful room with a very comfortable king bed. Cosy Inn with 28 rooms and a good restaurant with a good selection of breakfast and dinner choices. Excellent attentive service in the dining room.
Beautiful old property. Food was incredible. We could only get breakfast becase it was January. Lots of great food and sharound. Spa was great.
Quiet and close to lake
Loved everything
Beautiful location near the lake and downtown. Hotel is well maintained, comfortable and very quaint. We loved our 3 night stay.
It was all good 😊
Always a pleasure to come to this fantastic property.
Absolutely love this property. See you next Christmas, if not sooner.
Charming, old fashioned with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We were upgraded to a King bedroom with a fireplace and view over the lake. The room had plenty of drawer space but nowhere to hang anything except a tiny, creaky old wardrobe with very little room. There was no proper desk, so you had to do your computing on a chest with no leg room.
Overall a nice stay. Check in was easy and quick. The room was nice. It wasn’t the quietest room, a few noises in the night from the small fridge and the plumbing, but nothing to keep me up. We would come back here again.
The room, the property & the dining area were all very very nice.
Our room was comfortable and spacious, however we were not impressed with breakfast. It took over one hour to get served and when we got the order it was cold and a few dishes were incorrect. The servers were friendly and we felt sorry for them, as it was out of their hands.
We had a unique room with direct access outside. In better weather, the little porch would be a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee while overlooking the lake.
ROOMSS WERE LOVEL Y DISAPPOINTED THE DINNING ROOM WAS NOT OPEN MIISSED THE GREAT TASTY DINNERS VOLUME ON TV WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY
Central yet a quiet part of town. Walk to the old town.
Staff was cold in comparison to how they treated other guests. Not the best place for younger people.
lovely place. felt special. great service, food, and location.
Different than the norm
This was our fifth time staying utilizing the meal package. Our stay was excellent. Room 15, small but cozy, small points. As it is a small room, remove some of the furniture to open up the space. Mount a larger TV on the wall, and add some places to plug in a USB phone charger. Replace the shower head as it is past life expectancy. Clean room, great towels and nice bath robes. Parking was great. Meal was 5 out of 5. Perfect meal, great service and the crab cakes, Caesar salad and steak are to die for. The front desk desk mentioned that the fitness center opened @ 0900 hrs, unusual as I have asked them to open for me in the past around 0600 am. I wish to use the tread early, and before breakfast. Breakfast was also very well done, eggs Benedict and coffee excellent Love the location and the dinner staff have been around for a few years, staff that stick around normally are invested and care. We will be back in the spring, great job Oban !!!! Read less
This was my first stay and I’ll be back! The room was spacious and clean. The restaurant was superb. The spa was heavenly!
Our 2nd visit, a little disappointed with the state of the room. Not quite the same as our first visit.
Love the area surrounding the hotel. Very peaceful.
A great little town
There was a safe in the room. They knew it was broke. We put our passports and jewelry in the safe, put the code in and locked it. They said we shouldn’t have used it. They had to try to find a key and if they couldn’t find a key. They have to find a locksmith, but they eventually did find the key and got our passports out, they said we shouldn’t have used it. Well, no one told us not to use it and there should be a sign there not to use it or remove the safe completely from the room room was also dusty and small for the price that we were charged to stay there I would not be going back again.
nice big room and bathroom but the mattress and pillows were not comfortable
If you need to unwind from the world this is the place. Every aspect of the Oban Inn guides you to a more relaxed and serene space. Originally built in 1824 the modernized boutique Inn has 28 guestrooms and is nestled in an English garden setting. Conveniently located right across the street from Canada's oldest golf course with a great view of Lake Ontario (don't forget to pre-book your tee time!) Our room came with a wonderful little hideaway balcony which we were able to sneak out in our house coats every morning to enjoy our coffee. I highly recommend to take advantage of their package deals. Our stay included room, spa treatments, 3 course dinner, breakfast, & a "welcome" bottle of wine upon arrival! We began our stay with the spa treatments - a perfect way to launch into a weekend of extreme relaxation. Although I think my body scrub was more relaxing than my husbands bruise inducing sports massage! (he was happy so who am I to judge) The restaurant is worth the stay alone. It was impossible to choose from the perfectly designed menu - but I have to say that I will be craving that Duck Confit for years to come!
Everything was great for our anniversary getaway. Highly recommend the Spa!
Oban Inn was a perfect location to enjoy our two day stay in Niagara on the Lake. My one regret was accidentally booking on Expedia instead of the inns website because I believe we would have really preferred our room to be in the inn instead of one of the rooms with an outside entrance by the pool. My bad - but the room was fine and we really liked everything about the Oban Inn. Easy walk into the main street and nice to be not right on the main busier street. We ate our second night in the Inn's restaurant and it was excellent. We highly recommend you book your visit to Niagara on the Lake at the Oban Inn.
Short walk to the centre of Niagara on the Lake, The building and grounds are lovely and well kept. The 'library' at the end of the second floor is a beautiful room where you can read or scroll through your phone or computer, surrounded by built-in bookshelves, wainscotting and good books.
Listed as dog friendly bit should state that you must advise in advance. Need to phone them
Rooms were tiny and filled with useless heavy black furniture very depressing. Sink in bathroom drained very slowly. The bar was awful again dark cumbersome furniture with no warmth or enticement to spend time there. The lobby was set up like a shop for spa products complete with “spa music”. Very overpriced for what they provided. I would not recommend it.
Lovely inn!
Did not realize we were booked into Oban House, annex. Staff took us to room did nor show or tell us about lobby space, restaurant or grounds. Felt like second class citizens and not cheep!
We travel with our 85-lb. dog, so many hotels don't want us at all. Oban Inn welcomed us warmly into 306 with our own private porch and semi-private backyard with LOTS of squirrels to drive our four-legged angel crazy. The inn is 200 years old but our accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit!
Great location, grounds were excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive.
This Inn offers a comfortable base for exploring Niagara on the Lake but misses on small points. The entry is overly focused on a spa experience and misses the welcome to a boutique Inn. Our experience found staff efficient but not very welcoming. The room was comfortable but tired and the dining option was overshadowed with price gouging (a somewhat common theme in the area). Overall the Oban Inn was comfortable but not remarkable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Oban Inn. The gardens were beautiful, the staff was friendly and the location was both scenic and convenient.
Always an excellent experience here.
This is the 4th time I’ve been to this property and it never disappoints. Staff is very friendly, clean and comfortable rooms. Quite. Recommend to anyone looking for a great place in Niagara on the lake.
The rooms are very small. Nowhere to sit and put on makeup and the lighting in the bathroom was very poor.
Great stay, but we were not told what time was the breakfast, so we ended up missing it.
Xxx
Fantastic Inn. Close to town and beautiful grounds and rooms
Beautiful surroundings
Very enjoyable two-night stay. Took advantage of the couples massage offer, a very nice experience. Area provided safe and pleasant walks to a wide selection of shops and eateries. Views at parks and waterfront areas proved pleasant and relaxing. Oban Inn facility was clean, quiet and comfortable, staff was friendly, attentive, welcoming and professional. Highly recommend a visit to the Oban for a fun and relaxing break.
We were disappointed that there was no spa or a pool located on this property as advertised. This is an older property and outdated and decor, etc. Many of the pictures include the spa and pool that is no longer used. This can be deceiving for those looking for services like that.
great staff
