Great little hotel and an amazing find in my opinion! walking distance to all the shops restaurants and sites in NOTL. we had a great weekend with another couple.
Our stay at the Shaw Hotel was outstanding. The accommodations were comfortable and clean and the staff was so friendly. Not to mention the location to the Theaters and dining was perfect!! Would definitely go again and again!
The Shaw Club is a great hotel in NOTL, right across from the theatre, but a short walk to the main part of downtown without all the congestion. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The Shaw Club is a beautiful hotel which is convenient located across from the Shaw Festival Theatre, perfect walking distance from the theatre, restaurants and many lovely shops. As you step into the beautiful foyer, the staff are always warm and welcoming! The rooms are bright, clean and comfortable with everything you could need. Don’t hesitate to book your next stay at the Shaw Club, and be sure to try the Zee Grill great atmosphere and delicious food, truly a wonderful hotel!
A really nice boutique hotel with food options right on site and friendly, helpful staff. I absolutely loved that you could "adopt a fish" for your stay, I wish we had done that, such a good idea to have animal company while away from home. The hotel is situated in a prime spot, walkign distance to pretty much everywhere in town including restuarants, bars, spas, and shops.
We were celebrating our 55th anniversary at the Shaw. We have been to the shop numerous times because it is the best! From the moment you still in know that you were going to be welcome and treat it with professionalism and friendliness. The show is elegant and spotlessly makes you feel like a princess and prince. The restaurant is outstanding with the very best staff possible. The food is a delight. The Shaw provides the best of everything.
The Shaw Club Hotel was excellent! The staff is very attentive and friendly, the accommodations are top of the line. We stay in Niagara on the Lake often, but this was our first time at the Shaw Club. We will certainly be back! Highly recommend.
The Shaw Club is conveniently located across the street from the Shaw Theatre. We booked this room to stay overnight after a Sunday matinee performance. The room was very clean and nice. Beds comfortable and staff were first rate. They have a shuttle service to take you around the town that is a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again.
Just back from a leadership retreat in Niagara-on-the-Lake - we stayed and worked at the Shaw Club Hotel. Service was excellent - felt more like a B&B than a hotel. Food was excellent and we also tried a couple of their sister restaurants which were also great. Very comfortable lounge for a small group to enjoy before or after dinner drinks. Location is perfect for the Shaw Festival or walking the downtown.
We’ve been coming to the Shaw Club for the last 6-7 years, for a brief holiday. Niagara on the Lake is almost always a great place to visit …..except when it’s in full tourist mode….and the Shaw is where we prefer to stay. It’s pleasant, clean, comfortable and the staff is always cheerful and welcoming. The restaurant is a treat as well. We prefer going during the border to high season as that’s when a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub are especially appreciated. We were there in mid -November and are planning to return early next year. We highly recommend it to friends and family…..and even to anyone who would ask our opinion.
I highly recommend staying at the Shaw Club. The price for the stay was fair compared to other hotels in the area. The staff is very friendly and provides excellent service. The Shaw club’s rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. Lastly, the location is excellent as it is walking distance from the main street. I have stayed here multiple times and would not hesitate to return again for future stays.
We booked a Deluxe king with jetted tub for 2 nights for our 30th anniversary. We really enjoyed the location of the hotel (walkable to the shops, restaurants) and parking (which is otherwise $ downtown). The staff are very warm, welcoming and helpful at both the desk and the restaurant. The included breakfast in the Zee restaurant with the "Harvest package" was fantastic. Were given 2 macaroon on checkin which I thought was a cute touch. We did find the room extremely small, and closed in feeling. We were given a room at the back of the building facing the parking lot with a very small window which contributed to the feeling of smallness (very unlike the stock photos on the website of large windows with 2 chairs in front, we only had 1 tiny chair in the corner. The bathroom was quite nice with a separate shower and a large beautiful jetted tub (we had issues with the jets but quickly resolved by staff). Though we enjoyed our stay and really liked the location might try another property next time. It did not feel luxurious for the price (though I do realize this is a tourist area, higher price point that I am accustomed to) and I feel the room did not match the website photos. Carpet is older and wallpaper peeling in a few areas. But the staff really was fantastic. Though positives are fantastic staff and location, I would just ensure you request/book a room at the front of the building.
Yes
Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location.
We have stayed at the Shaw Club Hotel for many years and will continue for hopefully many more years. The staff is so welcoming it feels like coming home. The dining room is exceptional in delicious choices for breakfasts and dinners. The rooms are perfect and every amenity is available.
The Shaw Club is a lovely hotel. The room was gorgeous and comfortable. We had dinner in their restaurant (Zee's) and the food was of a very high quality. I will definitely go back.to this hotel
Nice room, god location
We had a great stay at the Shaw Club Hotel. The staff was very kind and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
Great place to stay right in the heart of Niagara on the lake!
Our first time to Niagara on the Lake and Shaw Club Hotel - Fabulous food, hospitality and service... We will be returning.
Wonderful location, pleasant staff, spotlessly clean
We have been going for our Anniversary every year in September. Never disappointed, very clean, the restaurant and service was amazing. See you next year!!!
Upon greeting at the lobby we were handed over the keys from a young lady like it was a motel 8. No friendliness or info about the hotel or the amenities. The washroom was untouched from likely the 90's, old toilet, shower didn't even drain properly and room looked dated, tired and dark. Not worth the premium rate charge.
Check-in was easy and the staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel lobby was very pleasant and well decorated. Our room was in an annexe building attached to the hotel. The entrance was through a door from the car park, and we then had to negotiate a steep flight of stairs with our luggage, which was quite a feat. The room was pleasant enough, but strangely had a quite dated looking jacuzzi in the corner of the bedroom. The bathroom, with shower and toilet, was quite small, and needed some updating. Maybe more space could be utilised, by losing the jacuzzi and making the bathroom a little larger. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and we slept very well. The hotel is situated in a very convenient location, with a large car park at the rear, next to the centre of the beautiful, picturesque town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, where there are lots of restaurants, bars and independent stores Would we stay here again? Yes, definitely in NOTL, but, sadly, not in this hotel. I think in it’s day, this property would have been ideal, but maybe it is living on it’s past reputation, rather than investing in more modern facilities for it’s guests. Just an opinion.
The Shaw Hotel is tasteful, private and offered a quality experience. It is in a perfect location to access the best of Niagara-on-the-Lake. All the boutique shops and eateries are in walking distance, the wineries a short, scenic drive. My room felt like home straight away and it had a clawfoot tub in its spotless and spacious bathroom that gave me that added sense of luxury. I loved soaking in it and the shower was equally state of the art. The restaurant and bar area is inviting and felt private, offering pleasant open air views that looks out to the charming surrounds. The breakfast package was so worth it as both the food and service was excellent for such a small add-on in cost . The staff are courteous and resourceful. It is an intimate hotel that has a real sweetness and personability. Everything is spick and span. The bathroom was palatial and my room felt like home. I would recommend this hotel for atmosphere and value. I am so happy I treated myself to stay in a setting where I could relax and get the true Niagara-on-the-Lake experience. It was a bonus to have a private parking area on the premises.
Couldn’t ask for a better location for the Festival. Very accommodating staff and z’s is a hidden treasure!

I would love to give the Shaw Club 5 stars but there were two things that made our stay less than ideal: There was a drip in our shower and because the shower head is in the ceiling, it had a long way to go to reach the shower floor and made a very loud noise that disturbed our sleep. Also, I found the bed a little uncomfortable. I know those are minor concerns so, otherwise, I would rate it 5 stars. The staff was really amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Overall, it's very clean and well kept. We very much appreciated that the hotel has its own parking and the location is walkable to a variety of shops and a beautiful and quaint strip. The food in the hotel restaurant is really amazing. I would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to others.
A lovely place to stay and we would stay there again. Onsite parking is a bonus. Everything within walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff.
Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Great location
Excellent stay. Staff went out of their way to arrange a shuttle as I was in treatment for prostate cancer. Also overcame a credit card issue. Breakfast and lunch were excellent. Wait staff very kind and friendly
I would stay in the main building next time - looked more inviting.
Tell people about the STAIRS
Room featured a strong and unpleasant odour we eventually attributed to air conditioning unit. Went to the bar / restaurant for a drink at 5pm and without any prompting from us were told “we can’t serve you food” (this despite a nearby table being served a meal). Went for breakfast the next morning and were told we’d “better hurry”. Never again. Awful place with unfounded pretensions.
Staff were so friendly, room & property was beautiful
Great location and the rooms are so cute. Very quiet and clean. Staff were great also.
Rooms need a remake. Wall paper pealing.
We've stayed here each year for the past 6 years. Great room and location. Excellent, friendly, efficient staff. Highly recommended.
Property location and parking is excellent. Rooms need a face lift and better cleaning for the price. I would choose a different place next time
Flower gardens were lovely and the food in the attached restaurant was great! Check in was easy, but no perks or extras were offered to us even though it was ou
Second stay here very nice and walkable to everything Super friendly staff
This place was absolutely gorgeous, right in the middle of things, and the people were wonderful.
Zees is fabulous. Staff are helpful. Room is run down and needs a makeover. Room was dusty and the bartroom needed a cleaning.
Luxurious bedding, spacious room, extremely clean, attentive staff and great location. You really need the valet parking as parking can be tricky in downtown Montréal.
Very lovely place. Max in the dining room was great.
We stayed here for 2 nights. Staff extremely friendly & helpful, place very clean & room was comfortable. Room was very quiet to outside noise but room air conditioner was noisy. Had breakfast at their restaurant was very good. Great location & right on the old section main road.
An excellent hotel with attentive and welcoming staff.
The Shaw Club Hotel is the best place to stay in Niagara on the Lake; right across the street from the theater and a nice walk to shops, etc. The rooms are very comfortable and the attached restaurant, Zee's offers great food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff are lovely and accommodating. Always our first choice.
Room was very ordinary. Internet did not work. Could not reach tech support. Pillows were poor. Towels and shower condiments were poor , relative to hotel price.
Walked to the Shaw theater, shops and restaurants. Wine tasting tour picked us up right outside the door. Great place and great staff.
Beautiful, quiet, clean and convenient. Close to easy bike path.
We had planned to stay a night in Niagara-on-the-lake to experience the town better than the usual rushed itineraries that included the Falls & NOTL in a single day. I wanted it to be a very good experience for my daughter & had booked the Shaw Club having read very good reviews about it. I have mixed feelings - certain excellent aspects that I really appreciated but others were a big letdown which I felt took away some of the experience & certainly felt that it was not worth the cost (even accounting for the fact that NOTL is likely to be more expensive). The site is central, but not right in there allowing some peace & quiet. The hotel is very pretty, and just opposite the theatre. Reception was excellent; we had arrived quite early and hadn’t expected to get a room, but the desk very kindly held our luggage for us. We sat in the lounge to get ourselves sorted for a short while - very good seating (excellent books including a copy of all of Shaw prefaces - not sure if it was accidental or due to the Club). It’s quite rare to see books in a lounge and I was looking forward to the experience. Free coffee & cold water in the lounge. We also got complimentary macaroons which were delectable (though not Ladurée). The hallways & the room were very old fashioned, there was a nail on the floor which pricked my foot (that’s a NO at any level). A/C was old, noisy and ineffective. There was a sauna in the room, really? The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows; the only disturbing aspect was the noisy A/c that we couldn’t turn off as it was quite warm. The bathroom was tastefully done and modern (unlike the room), but alas the water was like warm not hot like one would want after 8-10 miles of walking. All in all, a let down as I had really high expectations. Potential is there, but the management needs to up their ante regarding the state of the rooms. I would not pay the price for the rooms we got. The stay in the village was very good & we may come back, possible looking at alternative accommodation.
Found the hotel reasonably close to downtown, easily walkable. the restaurant on site was very good with good options. Rooms were very quiet and comfortable.
Beautiful hotel. Near downtown Niagara on the Lake.
A good hotel is one where if you have an issue, the hotel makes good. In this case, the hotel did react to our concerns -- that our room had a smoking smell and the Jacuzzi jets in our tub weren't working. That said, our Club room had a Jacuzzi, an impressive feature, and the room was huge. What really impresses at this hotel is the staff! Very responsible, friendly, exceptional.
Location
Very nice property. Easy walk to main shopping and dining area. Free off-street parking. Would stay here again.
Pretty from far but far from pretty. We were in a club room and when you’re paying ~$400/night, there is an expectation for cleanliness and the quality of the property. There was something peeling behind the vanity, I don’t think they’ve ever cleaned between the vanity and the wall (which has a 3” gap). The bedside table had a lower shelf that I could draw in the dust. The location is great, the off street parking is a huge plus, but don’t think it’s worth the price.
easy walking distance to theaters
Kind, friendly staff and lovely rooms. Great location!
Excellent location! The hotel lobby property was nice. Our room was in a separate building in the back of the main hotel. There is no elevator in this building and the rooms are all on the second floor. Fine for us, and we were aware when booking. Our room was quite dated, and while clean, needed some updating. The staff we encountered were very nice and helpful. We would stay again.
Great experience for our first time staying here. Clean, modern room. Nice restaurant on site, great staff at the desk, in the restaurant and bar. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
Great location. Comfortable room. Helpful staff. Electric car charger available
Great location
Old and sad
What a charming and quaint hotel-5 Star from the beautiful grounds, comfy rooms, Zees restaurant and bar was fabulous, hospitality from Jennifer and staff top notch. The location can’t be beat- steps away from the theatre and shops on Queen St. Will be back!
We had a wonderful stay at this charming and beautiful hotel. Our room was very comfortable, clean and in close proximity to both the lake and downtown area. Will definitely be back!
the hotel was clean comfortable and centrally located.
Dark room, not as shown on pictures
Very clean. Close to theater. Easy parking. The only negative thing was that our room was in the extension part of hotel which you needed to go up stairs to get into room. Not good for people that have mobility issues. But we were fine.
good location to shaw festival
The Shaw Club is well located but it needs a little update. Our room was in the annex and it seems that they need to update the plumbing and A/C (very noisy). The staff was not very helpful. However we had a great time at their restaurant. Food and service were great!
Back for our second time and the Shaw Club was just as nice as before.
Beautiful, quiet and clean hotel in the perfect location in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Have stayed here a couple of times now but will have to reconsider going forward. I feel this hotel falls short on some of the basics - no HD tv - loud air conditioner- the window blinds were not working properly and about 1/3 of the window to our room was exposed.
Was a beautiful little hotel
Nice hotel but some constructive criticism. We were not told that our room on the 2nd floor had no elevator access. My 72 year old arthritic knees were not happy. There was a note in our room indicating that the water would be shut off at 10am. Check out time is 11am. Couldn't they wait until then ? The jacuzzi in the room has no grab bar. If you slip getting in or out....good luck ! There's nothing to hold on to. Would be nice to have a small coffee table for drinks etc. Fireplace not working. Small bathroom has a large floor shelving unit which impedes access to the shower. Lots of wall space to put up shelving, allowing more floor space. No ice machine in our building. Have to walk over to the main building on second floor.
Excellent place to stay with easy parking behind the building, very friendly staff. Restaurant right on the premises with excellent seating options. I would definitely go back to this place again in a heartbeat.
Beautiful hotel and great location. We had breakfast and it was very reasonably priced and delicious. Every staff member we interacted with were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. We will definitely return.
Lovely place with efficient service. Whatever we requested was delivered promptly. Would recommend this hotel to others.
We unfortunately cannot rate our stay at The Shaw Club as we were transferred to a sister house following a mistake on their part even though we had confirmation of our reservation there.
Contemporary styling, clean and friendly
We had a fantastic anniversary weekend at the Shaw club. The property is immaculate, rooms, lovely, very clean, and very walkable! The restaurant was delicious both times we ate there with our server, Sandro being a highlight. We loved the lavender and other flowers alongside the exterior of the building as well. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again during our next visit!
Location for our needs was good. Food at restaurant was good. Parking for free. Needs floor upgrades.
Staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The hotel is central and walking distance to great restaurants, spas and shopping! We'll be back for sure!
The staff are very professional but approachable and personable. The lounge in the lobby was excellent, with Keurig coffeemaker, water, comfortable seating and library! The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Really like the pillows! The spa bath is amazing, as is the huge shower with a rain shower and handheld nozzle. Parking available and hotel is located right across the street from the Shaw Theater. Share bikes available as well.
Loved it. Would highly recommend.
Next time I would stay in main building.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, everything is walkable and the service was great too.
We had a great stay at the hotel. Very friendly welcome at check in. We were in one of the rooms that was in the annexe. It is a really steep stair, and wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The room was exceptional, great bathroom, comfy bed and a jetted bath in the bedroom. It was in a great location, close to everything. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but we did have some cocktails in the bar. The staff were super friendly.
Clean, great service!
Our stay was amazing. The Staff was wonderful and the room was very clean and ready for us upon arrival.
A small, quaint, well located hotel in the heart of Niagara on the Lake. The only way to be closer to the Shaw Festival theatre is to be in the show!
The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small.
I wouldn’t stay anywhere else
Some rooms such as mine had stairs which were quite precarious
We loved our stay at The Shaw Club, had a lovely visit and enjoyed walking all over town from the hotel. Great location and the restaurant was very good as well, including the Thai restaurant next door. We will definitely stay again in the future!
Outstanding and attentive customer service - front desk, housekeeping and Zees restaurant. Great property all around - love the free parking and easy access. So convenient to be right across the street from the Festival Theatre. Super comfy beds. Bathroom is a bit small but not problematic. Awesome being on the ground floor and having a little patio to sit on and enjoy a glass of Niagara vino!
Bed and the stairs to the room
Loved everything about the place. Very nice little restaurant right at the hotel.
