Beautiful location with lots restaurants around lots of choices to eat from Asian, Italian, Indian etc. Malls within walking distance Undercover garage
location, cleanliness, price
Great staff and value for money
Poor insulation for sound - on the busiest street with bars and pubs so people screaming on the street and revving cars and honking at 3am. Drapes were falling off the rails with the tall ceilings, and overall I'm sure it was charming for its days but now quite tired.
The building and rooms are grand Victorian style - high ceilings, 3-piece sitting area. If you are a fan of older architecture, you will love this place. The hotel sits a terrif location putting everything within easy walking distance.
Parking at the Hotel is a genuine nightmare. Spaces are small and surrounded by concrete pillars blocking direct access. Small cars or the ability to handle 50-point turns are a must.
The restaurant downstairs was incredible
Hard bed
Location and the price. Room although dated (very old but original ) was spacious...very clean and the beds were e tremely comfortable. Bathroom was huge and had a shower over the bath.
Toilet was very low....no Sky TV option....(would have paid extra ) Scary car park 🤣
Ideal for us in every way
Nothing
The location was topnotch, everything within walking distance especially the venue that we came to visit just being minutes by foot. Not noisy at all considering we had a room close to the busy road.
The musty smell in the hallway when you got out of the lift was just so overpowering, couldn't be ignored I'm sad to say. The same again in the room but appeared to be masked by some scented room spray that I didn't enjoy inhaling so put the air-conditioning on that took awhile to navigate as the temperature on the remote didn't match the temperature displayed on the unit but finally got a suitable setting The toilet was very low, ideal for children though and the cistern top had a crack that was covered by tape. To step up into and out of the bathtub was a little difficult and felt unsafe but managed with care When closing a window noticed a hole and crack just under the windowsill, had crumbled onto the floor. If you were looking for something cheap and nasty, this is your place. You got what you paid for. Liked the character of the building and possibly back in it's prime may have been a beauty but noted lack of maintenance, look tired and unloved. The pictures on booking site was not a true indication of the actual state of this place, can't trust a photo! I'm sorry to say I wouldn't stay again and I wouldn't recommend to stay either especially if you have kids or a female on your own!
I like the location that's all.
Not friendly staff and no apologies from staff after double charging my card. Bought and paid the parking and then sold to somebody else.I ended up came back with no parking at night. Very disappointed. Look like the staff not interested in working.
central location, parking
Unprofessional and unresponsive staff who just didn't care The hotel is in a state of disrepair. We were locked out of the bathroom due to the faulty door; the staff were initially unresponsive to our requests to get a maintenance person in to repair the door.
Everything you need at affordable price in good location
Shower over the bath, perhaps a hand rail would be good
Convenient, nice staff
Parking, black marks on bedding, key card didn’t always work
Service long term
Nothing all was good
Everything
Staff were polite. The bed was comfy. Room had a fridge which was a bonus. Room and bathroom was clean.
If you get a room next or close to the lift. When the lift is operational it make a loud noise. The hotel is near a lot of bars so was quite noisy at night.
Location
Smelly room, service, being charged twice
Rooms are very spacious n clean n t price is very good
The tv in t 3 or 4 rooms we’ve stayed in don’t work
Check in and parking were nice and easy - the man in reception when we checked in was great and had a great sense of humour
No fan on bathroom and the place smells musty also carpark is awful
I liked how helpful the staff were and how clean and comfortable the room was. Also, the central location meant it was easy to walk to the theatre and cafes.
The facility is a bit tired but it's a grand old hotel.
Location
Staff and dirty. Room was clean tho.

Old
I had a great experience at hotel. The high ceilings make the room feel very spacious, bright, and comfortable. The atmosphere was relaxing, and everything was clean and well maintained. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend Chotel to others!
Parking
clean linen
The location was not good, there were some issues with the car park, lighting, toilet block, and no telephone. There was also no water in the jar for coffee, and the car park was difficult to access at night.
There is no microwave & toaster in the room Very poor TV
Large room with high ceilings made you feel like you had lots of space. The decor may be faded but the beds were nice, clean and fresh. The bathroom was equally large with pure white towels supplied, shampoo and body wash. Parking was good, but you really need a small or medium car to easily maneuver, my big Isuzu was a little difficult to both park and get out of the parking building. We had wine and cheese on the balcony that was available to all guests and that was just special.
Ahhh.... there was this insanely loud groan in the pipes when you ran the shower. It was so loud that it had to wake everyone in the 10 surrounding rooms (it was truly spectacular). There was no remote control for the heat pump and being set at 20 was a little warm for me but I only discovered that at 11pm and that was well after the reception had closed. Other stuff was small cleaning stuff and aged beauty so lets not be picky, it was comfortable clean, spacious, fantastic location and had some parking.
Location and accommodation cost, very comfortable beds.
We are getting older and would prefer not to have a shower over the bath. Accessibility into bath not easy. One day out of 4 our room did not get serviced.
The space of the room great, beds comfy
No carparks available, back entrance quite scary
Veey good accommodation and they also provide car park which is additional safety. Overall was very good clean room...
Было чисто
Нас разместили в номере где очень шумно с двух сторон очень шумели вытяжки, но были места и нас любезно переместили в другое крыло отеля
This is the fifth time we have stayed. Good location and price
All staff were extremely helpful and polite and calm and confident. Check-in was a breeze. Location perfect! But curry across the road was yuk. So close to subway restaurant meant I could eat healthy on the cheap.
The checkout staff was a bit blunt or confused with the refund process.
The location was excellent, centrally positioned, and our planned destination was only a three‑minute walk
The room looked quite different from the photos of the one we thought we booked. We understand that rooms can vary, but this one felt quite cold, dark, and there was a noticeable gap around the bathroom window and frame caused a strong draft
I booked based on location & price. Then I read the sad reviews, I was concerned. However, the facilities exceeded my expectations. Room 109 was fabulous, clean & tidy. Comfort: the big bed, the two arm chairs, the big bath, plush large towels. Beverages. Large wall pump bottles beautiful hand soap & hand & body moisturiser, shampoo & conditioner. There's more the balcony to enjoy a drink & watch the world go by. It is definitely not your everyday hotel and why not try something different, which it is. A Grand hotel from a bygone area. The whirling noisey warming itself up bathroom fan 🤣, the fabulous high ceiling, 24/7 room service. 🫶🏾
The bed was really comfortable, shower in the room was ok, cleaness of the whole place could be better!
Black long hair in the shower, it was so gross, the toilet seat was broken, and i nearly fell off lol Dirty rugs on entering lift, and a really dodgy lift. Windows where filthy. Cleaness of the whole place could be better!! You get what you pay for!!
The location was good. I felt secure in my room
Very old and run down. Torn curtains, rusted window frames that don’t close (my stay was mid winter), hole in shower curtain and what looked like nail polish on the white duvet. A social gathering/ party on my floor was near my door and went until 5am. The empty bottles left on the stairs for 2 days
Location- close to hospital Clean
Casino
Communication . Couldn't understand . Couldn't speak English properly
room was comfortable bed was ok bath was excellent
1. no one serviced our room during the Saturday 2. someone knocked on my door 4 times in the space of 5 minutes no one there when i answered was asked my name as they had no idea who was staying there problem with their system. 3. Allowing other guests to disrupt the sleep of other guests by loud talking outside their room at 4am slamming the door shut 4. being charged and refunded and extra night with no notification. 5. when i enquired about point 3 was told that is the past and should have done something earlier there was nothing motioned about there being someone during the night 6. if that is how u treat yr guests i won't be staying there again i will stay somewhere that is more professional with the people that pay their wages the most important person in their company 7; being charged for my room within 2 days of booking shouldn't have been charged until I arrived when i mentioned this the excuse was training new staff and they didn't know what they were doing. totally unprofessional this was sorted
Perfect location 👌 so handy for everything like restaurants, bars and city center 👌 😋
Beds need upgraded and zink for tea/coffee and washing dishes. Iron wasn't working
Retro vibes. Huge rooms with tall ceilings
Poor soundproofing. Seems like a bit of a druggy vibe with some pretty dodgy characters roaming around the place, but this is probably because of the low price and location right in town
Location and well maintained
did not get to stay longer
Comfortable bed TV okay Roomy Bath
Dirty in places no cooking facilities, no bath robes or toiletries Noisy with pipes and children running around slamming doors in the early morning.
The location and price are the only good things
Blood on spare blanket, door to balcony jams up on warm days, toilet seat falling off, zero water pressure, elevator is a health and safety hazard and rude staff on arrival (rest of the staff was okay just not the lady)
We had booked for my partners 65th birthday celebrations through Booking.Com unfortunately there was not enough credit in account so booking was cancelled. However the lovely gentleman at the desk on 1st August upgraded us to a room that was amazing, it was huge.
The smell of curry throughtout. Ordered toasted sandwich room service .... unfortunately it tasted like a curry toasted sandwich.
Central to the city and great value for money
Rooms were very dated
Huge rooms,
Outdated but very clean
Great stay, good feeling! Atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. People are friendly
Not enough towels
Everything
Nothing
The area itself is lively, I had good access to people watch, the room itself was nicely done, close to the casino and other bars.
The parking was terrible, if you have a large ute or SUV the parking garage isn't at all helpful and you need alot of patience to even get close to parking safely.
Location, affordable, clean
Tv signal poor, a bit outdated
The smell in the place was so strong from the resturant below maybe .It needs alot of love and attention.
very good service and very friendly environment. and close to shopping's, restaurant and transpiration. Staff is very fast give a room service.
Very convenient and affordable
Location and ease of booking
It’s soo old and desperately needs refurbished
Great location, comfy bed. Stayed here before and no doubt will again
Very noisy air conditioner. Toilet handle needs maintenance.
Good location, originally a good price!
Wanted me to pay $150 bond I originally parked in the Farmers park. It would have cost $13 overnight through ParkMate! But I left, which then cost me $6. Then when I parked at the hotel that was another $20.
They canceled on me
They cancelled one me
Location
Rather tired looking
