Located just next to the airport, you can watch plane take off and landing, but this doesn't bother your stay. Hotel is nicely done.
Room with the street view: there is no really a view but the room is super loud. You can hear music from bars at night and some drivers that need to show their ego with super loud cars. Really annoying. There is a light coming to the room from the hotels corridor through the gap between the doors and the frame. If you want to sleep in, you can't because from 9am onwards all you can hear is "housekeeping, housekeeping ".
La ambientación, el cuidado del hotel
Furniture and finishings were up to date and very nice.
Everything, I fcuking hated it. The location is terrible. Impossible to sleep with traffic and party noise. The staff are awful. My bag was delivered late by the airline. Instead of bringing it to me or calling, they put it in a storeroom. They refused to provide an invoice until I behaved like a goon. The food and Bev is terrible value for money. How can you serve a $22 club sandwich without bacon? There is NO WAY that this horse stable can be charging $250 a night. Avoid this property, even a tent would be better. Never, ever and ever again.

Gracias a todos por la amabilidad de su atención el lugar es excelente en ubicación y comodidad. Una experiencia única destacó la atención del personal de Voco surfside Aruba

Good location and property
The staff is un-organized during our 5-day stay our room was cleaned once after putting the sign on door and asking front desk to clean. When we took the issue to the manager instead of apologizing he pulled out a spreadsheet to go over cleaning. Very unprofessional.
Hotel looks fresh and modern, rooms are perfect also the common areas
I feel a little bit scammed because I booked a reservation for three people that clearly included breakfast, but I was still asked to pay again for breakfast for one of the guests. This doesn't match what was stated in my reservation.
For my first visit to Voco Surfside Aruba we like to THANK YOU for making our stay a relaxable one. As soon as we checked in, we were recognize as an IHG member. The agent and the MOD Lysa Vreeswijk were there with a smiling face and a warm welcome greeting. Thank you ladies. The staff of Nook and the bar as well. Thank you Luis, Jorge, all the ladies during breakfast, Yuru and the rest THANK YOU so much. Its because of you, we will be back. The housekeeping department did a good job in keeping the room neat and clean, Thank you ladies. Night auditor: a friendly lady, always with a smile, greets me every morning when I bring my son to work. Overall experience: Good job all, you exceed our expections. We will looking forward for my next stay.
This is my second time staying in this hotel and this visit was even better than the last. The service was amazing, the amenities look incredible (specially the pool ans bar), rooms are spacious and clean, and the location is ideal. Also having the beach so close made it so that we had everything we needed close by.
Beach access is unparalleled with only a 3 min walk. Hotel amenities are very new and elegant. Service was great and we had an amazing time!!
voco Surfside Aruba was a deligtful experience. The hotel is newly renovated and the attention was amazing. I have been going to Aruba for the past 20 years with family and friends and had not found a more homey hotel. It is just across the street from the beach and even if you don't want to goo that far the pool was amazing. I loved the breakfast offering and the drinks by the pool bar. The rooms were very comfortable and clean.
Great pool area and close to the beach
Incredible hotel, very good facility and staff. 100% recommend
An exceptional stay at voco Aruba! The hotel’s recent remodel looks absolutely stunning, bringing a fresh, contemporary vibe to the entire property. The rooms are beautifully updated, the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing, and the service remains outstanding. Highly recommended!"Excelent
Truly Magnificent - the attention to everything big and small was apparent at every turn, supported by a world-class staff that was genuinely happy to have you as a guest.
I have been an IHG member for many years and this was by far one of the most frustrating experiences I have had with a hotel. The issue was not simply the reservation structure, but the way the situation was handled. Due to two consecutive reservations arranged by my agency, my room key expired and I was unable to access my room late in the evening while my belongings and medication were inside. What disappointed me most was the complete lack of proactive communication and guest care. The hotel had my phone number and email, collected again at check-in, yet nobody contacted me at any stage. It then took months of emails, follow-ups, LinkedIn messages and escalation through IHG channels before I finally received proper responses and documentation. Management repeatedly focused on procedures and policies instead of acknowledging the actual guest experience and the stress caused. The property itself is decent, but the handling of customer issues and communication was extremely disappointing and not what I would expect from an IHG-branded hotel.
The Voco Surfside Aruba was a delightful surprise in the heart of Oranjestad Aruba. This newly renovated property was airy, clean, and island elegant. It truly is a hidden gem and reminds me of the old Aruba low rise hotels. This property is truly a boutique style hotel. The common areas are open to maximize Aruba climate and all the decor is tasteful. The small footprint makes it is super accessible and really was a great place to spend a week with the family. This hotel is minutes from the airport so it is super convenient for a quick visit to the island. The pool was clean and had multi-levels and seating. It was small but located in the main central courtyard of the building. It had two jetted tubs, they were not hot but had great jets. We used the pool every single day of our visit because it was never crowded. The seating surrounding the pool was varied and quite lovely for lounging. There was astroturfing throughout the property which was a nice touch. There was an outdoor shower although if you were not looking for it, it was hard to find because it was located behind the pool away from the lobby. The hotel has a bar with a nice bar menu, nice outdoor seating options and a lovely restaurant that served a daily breakfast Buffett. Our room rate included breakfast but, that typically is an extra charge not automatic. The breakfast was varied although not extensive, we loved it. I don’t need an exotic spread each day. Made to order omelets and fruit, cereal, yogurt, cheese, breads and bagels plus, varying breakfast meats and potato or yucca. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We rented a car and had free parking and always got a prime parking spot. Plus overflow would be across the street. Now the street is a busy road but there is a crosswalk and a small beach and tons of food kiosks and a couple of restaurants directly in front of the property. The best part of our stay was the room, a short walk from the pool and restaurant and we were in our one bedroom one floor suite. We absolutely loved it. The room was large, bright, and clean. It did not have formal closets but it had plenty of storage space for two adults and one child. There was a pull out bed from the sofa in the main living area. Two televisions and a king sized bed in the bedroom. The bathroom was compact but tastefully decorated and very clean. The shower had great water pressure and overall the room exceeded our expectations due to the size. It also had a kitchenette and a dining table with two chairs. Also, there were two refillable glass water bottles and a filling station a few doors down. Our room also had a lovely private patio off the main bedroom that had additional seating and privacy. Our room was not too noisy since we had an interior room with a pool view. Although we always kept the curtains closed for privacy reasons. The air conditioner worked well and had a remote control feature which was a nice touch. Overall this hotel gets a solid four stars for being a hidden gem with phenomenal customer service and being super clean and quaint. I would stay again and recommend it for families.
Celebrating my 50th birthday in Aruba was truly unforgettable. Aruba, you truly embody the language, values, and ethics the world needs more of. Life has a way of testing us, stretching us through challenges we never expect, but every so often, it gently leads us somewhere that feels like home. This was one of those rare places; where every welcome felt sincere, every gesture carried kindness, and every moment was filled with genuine care. What made this experience truly unforgettable was my stay at VOCO by ING a place where warmth wasn’t just offered, it was felt in every moment; where care went beyond expectation, and genuine hospitality transformed a beautiful trip into a lasting memory. Along the way, I was fortunate to meet incredible souls; the VOCO team; Nilo, Yuru , and Francisca each leaving a meaningful imprint on my heart..
This hotel is close to the airport. I am top-tier for IHG so I spend a lot of time in their hotels. This is top-notch. It’s The pool is beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the shower is amazing. I can’t say enough about the staff meant most of them speak English. They’re very helpful and very accommodating. Somebody complained about the billing. I think that’s unreasonable and does not reflect this hotel.
Stayed one night at VOCO Aruba and had a very disappointing billing experience. I booked through Hopper and paid in full at the time of booking. At check-in, the hotel took my card for incidentals, which is standard. However, they later charged that same card for the full cost of the stay, despite the reservation already being prepaid. I was told the charge was “pending” and would fall off. It did not. After waiting two weeks, I followed up: • The hotel did not resolve the issue • IHG Rewards customer service said the hotel would contact me — they never did I even disputed the charge with my bank, but without proper cooperation from the hotel, it was denied. To be clear: • The original booking was paid with a Mastercard through Hopper • The hotel charged a separate Visa for the same stay This is a clear duplicate charge, and it’s extremely frustrating to be left chasing a resolution with no accountability. Until this is resolved, I would strongly caution others when booking here—especially through third-party platforms.
We booked very last minute for one night because we had to change our incoming flights due to a snow storm. We honestly were just happy to have somewhere safe to sleep that night but we were so surprised with this super cute hotel! It was just renovated and is very clean and modern. I felt like I was at a small boutique hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Pool and lounge are was wonderful. I loved being able to walk right out of our room to the pool. There were some great restaurant options in the area. Staff was very kind. We would come here again.
Pool And outside view
The rooms were mediocre but for the price they were ok.
Staff was great and accommodating
Accommodating
Very family friendly place. Most of the staff are amazing especially Marc from front desk always putting a smile on our faces and not to forget the lovely cleaners and of course the super friendly ladies from the bar. Overall a very nice place.
From the moment I arrived, this hotel delivered nothing short of excellence. The room was immaculate—beautifully designed, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens luxurious, and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. Every detail, from the lighting to the elegant decor, created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made it feel like a home away from home. The staff were the true highlight of my stay. Every team member I encountered—from the front desk to housekeeping—was genuinely friendly, professional, and eager to assist. They went out of their way to ensure my comfort, always greeting me with a smile and anticipating needs I didn’t even realize I had. As for the service, it was flawless. Check-in and check-out were quick and seamless. Room service was prompt and the food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. Any request I made was met with immediate attention and delivered with a personal touch that showed a deep commitment to guest satisfaction. The amenities were world-class. The pool area was serene and well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The fitness center was fully equipped and spotless. I also enjoyed the on-site spa—an indulgent treat that left me feeling completely rejuvenated. And the hotel restaurant? A culinary gem with a menu that balances innovation and comfort, using fresh, high-quality ingredients. In summary, this hotel doesn't just meet expectations—it exceeds them in every way. - Peter Magr
Housekeeping was great, very clean and tidy. Shower and bathroom was also great. Hotel location is perfect, lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance.
Wifi didn’t work in my room at all. Most of front desk staff was fantastic, except one day we almost missed dinner reservation because our taxi took very long time. Front desk staff said it always takes long on Fridays and she didn’t know when the car would come.
Had a greet time
It’s good but a little bit old.
Very nice place
The area around the hotel is not according with it
Having a small coffee maker with cream and sugar would have been nice instead of going out of our room in the morning. Dining room opened too late for early risers. Our room was clean and housekeeping was great.
Great location near the airport. Stayed two nights and enjoyed the hotel and the area
The beach infront of hotel is excelent.
We liked the pool, the clean areas, calm ambiance. We didn’t like that the lady who had the car and rentals information was off for the weekend (sat and Sunday), and on Monday when we asked for her she was going to be late also, but we got help later that day though!
Great staff Great location
Love everything about this place!
Rooms are nice beachfront just walk about five minutes from the hotel across from the hotel. There is a bar and a lot of noise motorcycle a lot of noise up to 12 3 o’clock in the morning.
Pictures on site is not accurate. Hotel needs improvement, which is currently receiving while I stayed there. Great just to lay your head and stay out all day as what I did with my mate our 3 nights.
Wonderful Hotel and the staff is amzing
I enjoyed my stay . Beach was close . I wish they could have a things to do iteniary.
For one night it will do. The pool area is nice, the shower was warm, the room was cool, and the bed was comfortable. The staff are rude and don’t communicate. They just stare and wait for you to speak to them. The front desk woman didn’t greet/welcome me, she just asked for my passport. She don’t tell me anything about the hotel, where anything was in the area or anything. The rooms need major updating for the price. The sofa was dingy and stained. The toliet was broken but operable. There were no wash rags, just two dingy towels. The area is very close to restaurants and the beach across the street, but it’s full of locals and stray dogs. It doesn’t look too safe after dark. Definitely I’m leasing pictures. If you just need a place to sleep and won’t be in your room or the area it will get the job done.
The people and service was great, the breakfast price could be a little lower but it was also great. The property just needs to be updated majorly.
Great location and hotel
Close to airport. Bit ol the fashion Aruba beach vibe. A Few amazing restaurants right on the water Watch the sundown, amazimg fresh food , great folks , and friendly Luved it.
Close to airport. Walkable to beach and some restaurants Staff was friendly
Room smelled musty
The room smelled bad. The bed skirt, the bed decor, and the walls were filthy dirty! We visited a week which included Easter weekend. The beaches were packed with the locals camping and partying on most of the beaches. The bar directly across from the hotel is where huge parties took place every night. Also, this hotel is on the main drag so it was very noisy! The hotel definately needs some upkeep repairs. The saving grace was that the food was good and the employees were very nice. We were very disappointed in Expedia's description of the place and didnt know why they would offer a stay here.
There is a great beach across the road, staff were great, it was really nice to have the pool. For the most part we had a nice 21 days there. Not the Hotels fault but the extremely annoying and loud bikes that show up at the bars / park across the street every Friday / Saturday / Sunday night till very very late at night revving their engines and doing burnouts. Not good for the Hotels business.
It was in a great location and a few minutes walk to beach
Really close to the airport. Was convenient to get around and the staff were really friendly
All good
Old property and the lady at the check in was very rude.
There was only breakfast provided and the beach was across the street, but the pictures made it seem it was at the hotel. It is an okay hotel but it’s needs updates.
Great hotel with good amenities, big pool with chairs and limited breakfast included. Staff is super helpful and nice. Good location 5 min to the airport and across the street from the beach and bars, walking distance 20 min to downtown area with shops.
It was a great experience i would recommend
We enjoyed our stay at talk of the town. Liz at the front desk was excellent, super helpful she gave us all the information for excursions and got us booked. The beach is across the street with a lot of dining options and great views and there is a marketplace a short walk down the road
We had plumbing problems. The toilet had a hard time flushing on numerous occasions they were good to come in and plunge it for us when I asked. The mattresses were horrible, very uncomfortable and I woke up sore and hurting every morning. The pillows weren’t the best either our phone never worked and the TV system is horrible. We appreciated having a breakfast every morning, but it got very monotonous as the food was very tasteless and flavorless. Not used to having imitation milk and eggs. We would’ve liked to have more fruit and some butter. The hot tubs were never even warm let alone hot!
We enjoyed our stay
Convenience, close to the airport, beaches . Easy access to the public transportation. The restaurants are walking distance.
Bathrooms need to upgrade, breakfast also need different variety of food
Terribly noisy. Unfortunately, the hotel location stands on a noisy road, with locals parked across the road chatting through the night and listening to very loud music from their car's speakers (especially at weekends). We had booked a superior room that despite the space had no real superior feeling - pretty basic tbh. Sometimes we were handed out tired beach towels, faded colours, not fluffy. It is fair to say the hotel needs a revamp from top to bottom. Staff are nice and genuinely do what they can. The pool area is okay, a bit small so at busy periods it could be crowded and perhaps even not enough loungers for everyone (ps it was not the case for us as we travelled outside peak times).
Nice swimming pool
The hotel is small and easy to navigate. The best part of the trip were the 2 ladies in the bar area. Very friendly and service oriented. The downfall was housekeeping and management in general. Our entire stay we had do not disturb on our room door, yet, housekeeping entered our room to put towels in the bathroom. Nothing else done, just the towels. When i brought it to management, he was helpful but only said he would let housekeeping know about it. You want to know your secure when out of the room. It just raised a red flag. The in hotel convenience store listed hours of 8am-8pm but was rarely ever open and always closed by 5pm.They also had many interns working the front desk without supervision and not muck knowledge or know where to look for an answer. I can let that slide because we've all been at that point in our lives. When you book a hotel of this class, you really do get what you paid for. Atleast Aruba is checked from our bucket list.
The hotel is very nice and well located. The room is very spacious. The pool is very beautiful. I really enjoyed this hotel..
no late check out available.
Close to the airport
It was my fault I ended up booking the wrong night 1 month in advance and they still would not refund me anything or offer a discount even though I booked another night!
good
Relaxing atmosphere, with very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, beach and city centre was in walking distance. Swimming pool was great to cool off and relax after a hot day exploring the island and breakfast in the morning was delicious.
Propety needs a bit of TLC.
I booked for 4 days and left after the 1st night. The room looked like a dingy roadside motel. Staff was rude and cold to "us", however i watched how they dealt with other races and it was like night and day. I would never ever consider going back even it was for free.
Too noisy in the back property until 1am on Friday.
It was good
If you enjoy loud music and motorcycles revving their engines in competition with each other (rev-off) from Thursday - Sunday night (9pm-midnight) from the parking lot across the street, this hotel is perfect for you; terrible for me, and all those I spoke to, for those 4 nights out of 7. Sadly, I was told this is the norm and there is nothing that can be done about it. I wish I knew. I asked to change rooms away from the street but my request was refused? although the hotel did not seem to be full at all. Bad customer service. Unfortunately, although the hotel is across the street from a fantastic beach, good food, and close to port/city centre (15 min. walk) and airport, the evening noise across the street in the parking lot ruined what was otherwise a fantastic and beautiful island trip. Highly recommend Aruba!! Suggestion: call the hotel and ask about the noise from Thursday to Sunday evenings to see if this has changed before you commit! If it wasn’t for the noise, I would not be writing this review.
Great place to stay
Very nice and helpful front desk, restaurant, cleaning, and maintenance staff. Loud music and motorcycles revving engines from parking lot across street was a problem on weekend evenings ...
The staff was very helpful and nice. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The hotel is walkable to several restaurants and downtown Aruba.
Location to the airport and downtown Oranjestad.
A little noisy on the weekend because of traffic and beach bars.
A nice place. Easy to mingle with other guests.
Spending time with my family and enjoying the carnival
HOTEL ROOM AND SITUATED
BREAKFAST
The staff was very guest friendly
The hotel is very well located. Close to the airport, the surfside beach, the education centre. The hotel is large, has a pool. Located next to main road which is really noisy, although we knew that. Noise from the rooms is also very audible. Breakfast is good, although not varied. Even though I indicated my food sensitivities in advance, the reception did not pass them on to the kitchen. But it was sorted out when I did. We were during Carnival so the location was excellent. The city is a 15 minute walk, there are several car rental options within a 10 minute walk. Parking is available.
quite a decent hotel for that kind of money. good breakfasts, polite staff. Although 7 minutes from the airport, it was not noisy. 6 minutes walk to the beach. but we were not at the hotel from morning until evening, we rented a car and drove around all the beaches and attractions of this island.
Property is located across from a beautiful beach. Hotel is located near airport which we enjoyed the planes flying over. We are at restaurant located in TOTT and enjoyed it. Convenience store lots of options for drinks and snacks. Restaurants across the street were really great. We would definitely come back and stay here.
Great location! Yes, it's right on main thoroughfare and there is street noise. Pay to upgrade to superior room, problem solved. Still cheaper and closer to beach than some resorts. Rooms were very clean (housekeeping every day.) Beds are comfortable. Showers great! Breakfast 7:30-10am. Front desk abysmal. Convenience store hit or miss with their hours. Overall great stay!

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.5/10Multiple reviews repeatedly note rooms and facilities as 'súper limpio', 'erg schoon en netjes', and 'clean' — housekeeping generally praised.
Service
7.8/10Service is often highlighted positively ('Excelente atención', 'vriendelijk', staff praised), but there are a few strong negative experiences (rude/standoffish staff, billing dispute) that lower the score slightly.
Location
8.2/10Location is consistently praised for proximity to airport, beach and restaurants ('buena ubicación', 'next to the airport'), but several guests report significant nighttime/street noise which reduces the score.
Room Quality
8.1/10Rooms described as comfortable, modern and well finished ('súper cómoda', 'Furniture and finishings up to date', 'rooms are perfect'), though some rooms suffer from noise and light bleed from corridors.
Amenities
8/10Pool, gym and restaurant receive positive mentions ('piscina me encantó', 'Academia bem equipada', 'instalações novas'), overall amenities are good for the hotel tier.
Value for Money
6.2/10Several guests complain about extra/duplicated charges, expensive food/drink pricing and unexpected breakfast fees — value is a clear weak point in reviews.
Food and Beverage
7.8/10Food quality gets mixed-to-positive notes ('comida súper rica', 'restaurante espectacular', 'excellent restaurant'), but complaints about pricing/portioning and billing issues temper the rating.
Overall Experience
7.8/10Most guests describe a pleasant or wonderful stay and would return, though a minority report very negative experiences (noise, service/billing issues) — overall aligns with the target rating.
