Lovely welcoming Guest House. We arrived very late and our hosts were very accommodating in saying that if we needed to be later we simply needed to call. The breakfast was also exceptional, so well cooked and presented, I just should have ordered slightly less as the portions were very generous.
My only negative would be that for us the mattress was too hard. This would clearly suit some very well, but it is not what we are used to, but this is only a very small point in what was overall a really lovely stay.
What a nice, family run hotel. Reminded me how nice it is to stay in a business that is owned by the people who run it. It’s not an all mod cons place, but it’s comfortable, clean and has everything you need in a lovely old fashioned building. If you want to stay in a nice place, run by humans, who are friendly without being intrusive then recommend this place!
Nothing.
Splendid breakfast, well organised and clean hotel.
Excellent breakfast and well cooked

Lovely accommodation and the staff sorted me a downstairs room for mum who uses a wheelchair and put ramp out at doorway. The bathroom had a walk in shower and high toilet seat so perfect for mum.The breakfast was included in price and was excellent
Nothing not to like just wish I'd known the bar was in dining room would have had a drink.Prob put a sign to show bar in entrance.
Lovely big room and a four poster bed with superb views over the town and countryside. Excellent and generous breakfast. Perfect for a stopover en-route south.
More attention should be given to cleaning the bedrooms....ours, while lovely and big, was quite dusty and tired looking. There was a dead wasp on the floor and it looked as though the room hadn't had a good dust or vacuum for months. A good clean would make a huge difference to how the room feels.
A peaceful stay. I slept well and enjoyed breakfast with view out over trees. Short walk into town
Great breakfast and friendly & helpful hosts
nothing
Great grand old house, food was good and friendly staff. Good place to park the bike away from the road and obviously on site.
Nothing of any real note.
The very cheerful couple who ran and owned The Glen
Breakfast was excellent
Would have liked a change of towels.
Friendly and very helpful staff Easy communication Excellent breakfast in beautiful surroundings
Breakfast was great, bed huge and comfy
We were 2 people, but only had towels for 1 person
Full of character and charm, original features, dog friendly, traditional decor, 15 minute stroll into town, big bedrooms, good breakfast
A few cobwebs needing attention and perhaps some areas were a little “tired” but it wouldn’t stop me from returning again
I had a lovely stay at The Glen Guesthouse. The property was welcoming, comfortable and full of character, and everything was clean and well maintained. The atmosphere was peaceful, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
Not much, I stay in a lot of hotels across Scotland with my work on a weekly basis . This one is really comfortable and homely
Rasy access Nice room Nice bathroom Nice breakfast
Room was cold Reception on arrival was not very friendly but lady at breakfast was lovely
Liked the feel of the place - old-style house but not lacking in modern amenities. Host was excellent and the evening meal was superb Appreciated the room upgrade and will definitely stay again.
Fantastic guest house with exceptional rooms. Breakfast was superb. Staff couldn't do enough for you
Nothing
Beautiful setting. Wonderful location. Room extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Fantastic breakfast. Would highly recommend.
We had such a relaxing evening, breaking up two very long drives. The room was clean and large, with plenty of space for all our end-of-trip bags - and the bed was so comfortable. Excellent cooked breakfast in the morning to set us off for the final stretch of our journey. We were there on a weekend when dinner isn't served, but it's a quick walk into Selkirk where we easily found somewhere to eat. There was a bit of noise in the early evening, as our room was above the bar area, but it all went quiet as soon as the bar closed so no complaints here - good to hear people having a laugh. Great views from the huge window.
Not about the guesthouse at all, just a heads up that if your sat nav suggests approaching from the west (Buccleuch Road or coming over the Selkirk Bridge), be prepared for a tight turn into the drive. We had to reverse out and try again - not impossible, just a bit tricky if there's traffic. If you have a larger vehicle, drive down Yarrow Road from the town centre to make it easier.
Breakfast was excellent and evening meal very good and great value for money
The Glen is a charming guesthouse. Our bedroom had gorgeous views. There was a delightful riverside walk which we explored after dinner.
The owners were so kind and went the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable, including offering us the night's meal even though we hadn't booked in advance.
Nothing
Location was good. Got a family room so very spacious for two people.
Bedding was clean but the room was full of dust, especially around the walls, ceiling and top of curtains. Shower room was very small and window had been left open so there were a lot of insects in it when we arrived.
Excellent breakfast
A little cold as the window wasn't well fitting .although to be fair there was an oil heater in the wardrobe we could have used
Home cooked food provided was very good . Bed vwas very comfortable. Lovely old building.
Lovely property, room was massive and had everything I needed
早餐特别赞,问我们几点用餐,是一对老夫妻特别做的早餐,品种不多,但很美味,特别喜欢这个小镇,很安静,不远处还有一个城堡,去玩了一圈。
The staff were welcoming and the room was clean and comfortable. Although we didn't take the evening meal, it was nice that the guesthouse offered this.
The fact that the breakfast had to be ordered and confirmed the previous day was not what I expected. Obviously it works for the guesthouse, but very often my wife and I don't decide what we want till we wake up.
Beautiful building, nice walk into town for meals, comfortable room
Other guests were very noisy until very late at night - have had quieter stays in busy pubs - not the properties fault I understand
Very comfortable and clean, had a huge bed in our room and a very nice en- suite shower with lovely large bath towels. Loved the fact it was dog friendly. The breakfast was plentiful and very good quality, especially the sausages and bacon. Plenty of parking too. We will very likely use The Glen again as a stopover to North Scotland- or maybe just as a base to explore the Borders

Comfy bed , good breakfast and easy parking
Host was really friendly and helpful. The beds were comfy. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We were just there one night passing on to another destination but I can recommend staying here.
Nothing
Breakfast was excellent Location very picturesque
Beautiful building and great service
Only one thing the mattress was a little on the hard side for my liking
Everything! Our short stay was excellent.
A family- run period house, typical of The Borders conveniently situated off the main road into Selkirk. The views over the hills or into the secluded garden and my bright, spacious room made my stay restorative. The cooked breakfast was exceptional. (Unless you have a large appetite you might want to specify a small portion!) The hosts were genuinely friendly and made helpful recommendations - notably to see The Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galshiels.
Location was great, breakfast was great

Excellent
Very comfortable bed with lovely bedding. Easy parking. Spacious, well equipped bedroom. Lovely grounds. Excellent breakfast which would be even better if some fresh fruit were available.
The shower head was so big and the cubicle so small that you have water constantly running on your head when it is switched on. Shower caps are provided but there is nowhere to move to!!
The breakfast was brilliant anything you needed and hot
Good location, easy with bike, big room
The breakfast was excellent.
could do with an electric power point for shaving.
Beautiful building, well kept and comfortable
The shower was faulty but that's a minor issue
Very well organised

The evening meal was superb, salmon cooked to perfection with a creamy tomato butter bean sauce and then an indulgent apple crumble with ice cream! The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. My room was lovely and cool, the sheets and towels smelled fresh and clean and the room and shower were also very clean. Had a very peaceful night's sleep. Bonus double bed even though I'd booked a single room, was a nice surprise. Perfect poached eggs in the morning and proper mushrooms (not the tasteless tinned ones you sometimes get). Great value for money, thank you so much.

Huge room,nice locatation
Drains were blocked so had to have a quick shower or the water would overfill
Clean and well appointed, great food

The staff accommodated lots of inquiries and special requests. The location facilitates exploration of the borders area.

We stayed at the Glen as a group of six cyclists on a coast to coast trip. The hotel itself is an impressive old building. Our rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable. Staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to hose our bikes down before storing them in a secure garage. Breakfast was absolutely excellent, setting us up perfectly for another day of riding. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Nothing. A fantastic stay at an extremely reasonable price.
A very comfortable bedroom, friendly and accommodating staff, lovely breakfast room, all in a peaceful and beautiful location.
It’s proximity for a dog walk. Ordering breakfast the night before is a good idea.
Hardly any shower gel or hand wash.
A very friendly family run establishment. We were made to feel very welcome.
Nothing
It was a beautiful arts and crafts house. The owner was very helpful. The breakfast was great.
Location good parking Great breakfast
Climbing stairs to room for someone with mobility issues
Lovely place in a great location. Staff seemed lovely.
There were quite a few cobwebs on the windows
Owner & staff were friendly, helpful but unintrusive. Breakfast was fantastic!!!
We were three men in a three bedded room. One of the singles was a bit "wobbly". Probably ok for someone smaller, or a child which to be fair, would be the usual for this kind of room
The gracious style
Longish walk into town centre
Spotlessly clean. Welcoming host. Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere. Good porridge.
Location convenient and easy parking. Breakfast was wonderful! Drinks reasonable.
Bathroom small, shower tiny
Everything.

Warm welcome, great that some rooms are dedicated not for pets, really helps allergy sufferers. Room was fabulous, making breakfast choices the night before is such a good idea to reduce waste. Really enjoyed our stay here.
Nothing - top marks
Great location, characterful property.
All good for me.
Staff very helpful Produce an excellent sausage sandwich breakfast to go

It’s absolutely gorgeous outside, and nicely modernised whilst retaining character. The breakfast was SO GOOD and the filter coffee was the perfect match.
Nothing!
Really lovely rooms and setting for the Glen. Grrat breakfast and very friendly staff.
The room was well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent both in quality and service
It fully met our expectations and needs
Breakfast was lovely
Large single beds. Spacious room. Walk in shower. Breakfast was great. Beautiful old, atmospheric house. Plenty of teas and coffee.
No sockets by the bed. Only 2 accessible sockets in the room.
Very welcoming and very comfortable room with a lovely en suite. Excellent breakfast.
Beautiful arts and crafts house. Very good breakfast.
Nothing. Only slight reservation is the distance uphill to get into town for pubs/restaurants although hotel does offer an early evening meal.
Great location
Absolutely nothing
Neat old guesthouse, clean, well upkept, good breakfasts, at edge town and borders . As expected
Nothing
Clean, spacious, comfortable. Great breakfast, ideal on Birders Abbeys way
Convenient for our trip. Good sized room, comfy beds, good shower.
It was clean and had everything we needed Comfortable beds Great breakfast
The only things was-the place itself was a bit gloomy. No accessible plug for hairdryer at table in the bedroom Being 75 I had to move the table out from the wall to access the plug. Not great There was a sitting room but only had two arm chairs. Having 9 rooms in the premises definitely not enough seating so really had to sit in our room
Really friendly and helpful people, great food
The guesthouse is beautiful as are the rooms! The welcome was warm and the gentleman who greeted me kindly made sure I'd have some breakfast before my very early checkout. I'd brought my own cereal but he left me some milk, juice and a yoghurt outside my door before setting off for my half marathon - I bet my last time by 10 mins so those Rice Krispies must've helped.
Nothing to note, I'd be nit picking to find something I didn't like. It was as expected and everything was fine.
The owner looked after us and was terrific. We chose to have the table d’hôte dinner which was absolutely delicious. A pleasure to sit and have a drink before dinner. The garden was lovely. The bathroom so roomy and pleasant.
Nothing. The house is really appealing
Beautiful location
Staff attentive. Food very good. Location very good
Mattress well used. However still had a comfortable nights sleep
