The location to Silverstone was fantastic. Need to publish the parking location as it was impossible to find. (End of the Waitrose car park)
There were a few items left from previous guests and an empty shower gel bottle left in the bathroom. Blinds didn't work either.
Super friendly staff
clean, well appointed, comfortable. Nice bar and local amenities very good.
breakfast arrangements weren't great- cold option only during the week and only available after 8.00am
Really enjoyed my stay at Crown Brackley. The overall experience was very good and comfortable. Everything went smoothly, and I’d be happy to stay here again.
Clean, warm, comfy, parking, friendly staff, well located.
I liked everything.
Well located hotel, very friendly staff with an excellent continental breakfast
Parking was difficult and the shower in the room was not working well.
Location
The window was a glass door onto a dilapidated balcony; the only way I could ventilate was to leave this open. There was no catch.I felt insecure. The floors were not horizontal, neither were the surfaces of the furniture. Noise from the adjacent room' s bathroom was seriously loud.
Good location & comfortable bed
Everything
Had a really lovely stay at the Crown. The room was comfortable, everything was clean and tidy, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I really enjoyed my time here and would definitely stay again. Highly recommended!
Comfortable
Nothing
Dirty , smelly linen, very tired. We refused to stay and made booking elswhere. Building in very poor repair.
The staff were really friendly
Friendly staff, comfortable rooms
A great find Friendly staff, excellent service, big clean and comfortable room. Great nights sleep
In places looked old,and past it's best But still had a certain charm
the crown hotel brackley is situated in the center of brackley market place. a very nice hotel the staff was very friendly and welcoming they have nice little bar that has a lovely pint of Guinness
nothing
Had a really good stay at Crown Hotel Brackley. The room was comfortable, everything was nice and straightforward, and I had a pleasant experience overall. I’d definitely be happy to stay here again in the future.
Excellent staff friendly very accommodating highly recommend
Nothing excellent
Clean and comfortable room, nicely presented. Arrived late evening and Nadim went out of his way to help us find parking. Pleasant bar area with lots of car memorabilia.
All good
Excellent
Comfortable and liked the old construction
I liked it.
The staff were really helpful and the room large enough and comfortable. Although the place is a little tired in places, we expected this in view of its age, we couldn't fault its cleanliness. Parking was challenging - free, but we had to move the car from place to place a couple of times during the day because of restrictions in the adjacent car parks.
Room and location
Central location
Bathroom was very dated and tired.
Woman working downstairs was very friendly. Shower was good pressure and clean. Beds were fairly comfortable
Both bathroom and bedroom (particularly the bathroom) absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. It must have been coming through a vent all night as it got worse as the night went on. Some parts of room could have done with a better clean. Door joining to next room did not block any sound from other people staying at the hotel. The whole thing just needs doing up to be honest and was not worth over £100 for one night
Good location good value for money.
No hot water in room 2 but too late to tell staff by notified and left early in morning to tell at check out.. uncomfy mattresses- had to make comfier using bedding.
Location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bedroom was spacious and furniture was good , tastefully decorated.
The cups had not been washed from early morning cuppa. Very noisy with street noise as no double glazing to lessen the noise
Great location - people were helpful and the place sas spotlessly clean
Nothing
Location to Silverstone Very friendly staff and great service
A old coaching Inn, full of character and charm Staff helpful and friendly, nothing to much trouble The room we had was big and bright, the bed was very comfy, and clean fresh and crisp linen The bar has a good choice for what we wanted. Excellent stay
Nothing not to dislike Great hotel
Location.
Not clean .shower very poor
Not much
Not enough plugs had to boil kettle on the floor. One bed was leaning because sloping floor, had a shower which gained a puddle in the middle of the floor and water was very slow pressure.
Room was relatively clean, good shower pressure and an abundance of tea and coffee.
Bathroom every time the shower was used completely flooded. Then had to use the towels provided to mop up said water. Staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there at all
Friendly and helpful staff, good service and a lovely court yard.
Our room was dusty especially behind the bathroom door and the shower cubicle needs a good scrub!
It was a nice reception and bar area
The room was not cleaned, bed not made, the towels not changed, coffee cups not cleaned or changed and coffee, sugar and milk not replenished. Poor, unless I was just unlucky
Location great for Silverstone
Needs a dam good clean and dust. Spelling mistake on breakfast menu pretty much sums up the eye for details(chess pieces anyone?). Not a bad hotel just needs updating, cleaning and more customer focus
Old coaching inn in the centre of town that has retained any original features. The bed was comfy and en-suite was clean. Staff were polite and friendly. We had dinner and a continental breakfast and both were good. Also it’s dog friendly!
It’s not really a dislike, more of an observation, but as with many old properties, The Crown needs a little of money spent on it to bring the interior decoration up to scratch. It’s important though that this is fine sensitively and in keeping with its age.
The property is full of character and history given its age. However the room we occupied room 18 was at the top of the building, the view from the window overlooking the square was great. However it was extremely noisy with youngsters out shouting and generally enjoying themselves until about 2am which did not help as we were tired. The room itself was cramped with nowhere to hang any clothing, just a double bed made up for winter and not summer, there was no fan to cool the room down baring in mind we are in the attic area and it was bloody hot. What made it worse was the fact we had no bottles of water in the room which would have been a nice touch. There was a kettle and tea making facility in the room. The feel of the bedding was dated and we were worried about bed bugs, sorry but this is our impression because the room felt dirty. The shower and loo are was like being in a cupboard. The shower tray was dirty along with the shower, but have to say the water pressure was fantastic. We paid £150.00 which included booking fee and insurance cancellation. Compared to the hotel we left to go to this one we paid exactly the same amount and got a room with all the facilities that this one was lacking. It needs a major rethink and makeover to even give this hotel a one star rating.
I liked the property because of its character and age, it’s like stepping back in time but it need major work done to it. I have to say the staff and I mean all of them I met where friendly, polite and made us feel very welcome, I’m only sorry I had to give an honest feedback with regards to our accommodation. Going down for breakfast and seeing set up just for the two of us was a nice touch for £15 we had or I should say we could have a Continental or full English, we both chose to have a full English but we could not eat it as everything was either burnt or over cooked and it was a real greasy spoon, not good at all we both left our breakfast. But the people who served us were very polite and did their best to look after us. Again I’m sorry for giving a poor review on the breakfast.
Location
The shower
Lovely location, bar have a vintage look which we loved. Staff were attentive and helped with everything we asked. Beer garden out the back was just like being abroad.
Nothing.
Staff Excellent and very helpful f
Food was frozen in the middle and not great
The bed was comfortable
It really was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I asked to speak to the manager sunday morning but you were unavailable. Your members of staff speak barely any english so conversation about issues fell on deaf ears. We stayed in room 4. The curtains were a pair for each window so the light came in each side. No bin by tea facilities. One bath towel between two of us!! The icing on the cake was the hairdryer in the drawer. No plug so i had to drag the whole draw across the room !!!! Farcical. Breakfast - where do i start!!!!! Nothing set up, no crockery or cutlery still at 8.20. Cartons of juice like school children! Milk in huge containers and no jugs. No spoons for yogurts or fruit. Pre packed pastries. Burnt sausage, bacon like a frisbee , brown fried bread and greasy egg. No communication on what you wanted for breakfast just put in front of you. Everyone there was laughing at the pure incompetence of the situation for £30 a couple? disgusting. I suggest they look at your policies and procedures and send in a mystery shopper as your hotel makes fawlty towers look like the ritz!
Lovely area great location friendly staff and management always happy to help
Location was fair due to the event (F1) Staff on check in friendly
The price was obviously inflated due to demand at Silverstone which is to some what understandable given the F1 weekend. What was ridiculous, was the rooms were all very far away, the cleanliness was not great in the bathroom particularly. The bed and room was fine, though no TV remote. Other rooms were very hot and similar cleanliness. The hallways very dusty. Breakfast was a tesco/waitrose spread of continental but just branded cheap packets on the table. One poor member of staff doing it alone. Overall we had no choice but to stay here but we paid £1600 for 3 very sub par rooms and I would not stay again.
De ligging. Aan het marktplein midden in het centrum.
Geen echte tegenvallers. Typisch oud Engels; trappetje op, trappetje af.
Excellent value for money loved the food and breakfast
Nice hotel and excellent service
Excellent
Nothing, no response at all to my contact
Complete ignorance from the hotel
Service was terrible. They need a hospitality course urgently
Room was very clean and very comfy beds
The noise from the road was horrific only 3 hours sleep
Great position, right in town.
There was a problem with opening the door with the key but my partner got some wd40 to sort it as the receptionist said it was ok
Good location in town centre. Hotel full of character. OK parking.
Staff could be a bit more service minded.
I left the sign on the door for my room to be serviced/refreshed. It wasn’t …so I told the staff. When I returned a towel was hanging in the bathroom I assumed it was a clean one ..it wasn’t. !!! The towel had a large skid mark on it where someone had used it to wipe/dry their butt and it had spots of blood where I’m guessing someone had cut themselves shaving..!! It was clearly a dirty/used towel. I packed and left the hotel immediately ..
Great location for what I needed and cheap
Car parking, no fans or aircon which was terrible during this heat, breakfast ordering the night before not mentioned until it was too late, but found a great little bakery 3 mins up the road instead
It was well looked after with period features and in a great location. Really comfortable stylish bed
The cooked breakfast was a ‘one size fits all’ and there weren’t fruit or yogurt options. Fresh orange juice would be nice too.
The location
Stinks of smoke as you go in due to pub smokers area, room hard to find numbers not in order lots of steps & corridors, unfriendly staff & fire alarms at 10.15 then staff member rude saying it's fine
Everything
Nice old fashioned pub, right on market square
Bed was to hard for me
Location on the main road close restaurants and the Brackley Bus stop for the F1 bus to Silverstone. The character of the old building and room.
Very delicious 😋
Close to the Formula one bus stop . The sheets were clean as were the towels . Lovely bakery nearby for breakfast and the staff there made us feel welcome
Paintwork needs cleaning or better still refresh. Shower cubicle leaked water onto the floor . Only a few parking spaces not clearly marked and locals told us to move twice . For a big pub the drink choice was poor. Too expensive for just a night without breakfast. Cant comment on food as nobody dining there
It was very nice and nice to see use of old horse stables easy to get to good location and very good if ur going to Silverstone
The bed in my room need to be new all other need were new and pillow like A4 paper thin needing all clean just the pillows and mattress waw like A4 paper thin feel the spring was not good compared to other bed in tool which had a thick mattress pillows on
Location is great, easy to find although parking in carpark a bit hit & miss. But plenty of free on street parking til 9am. Room was adequate. We were in stable yard (coach house is what they called it) but in attic room with very low ceilings. Room was clean and bathroom satisfactory with great hot shower.. Towels were lovely and complimentary shower stuff was a nice gesture.
According to website they do 2for1 main meals in evening. This isn't the case and menu was totally different to that online. They currently have no chef on-site and meals are cooked at sister hotel and shipped over. Food wasn't up to standard or as described but staff gave us a refund and we went to Indian across the road for a fantastic meal instead. Continental Breakfast only during week for £8 not really worth £8 but a good spread obviously none the less. No channels working on TV apart from BBC 1 and quest. No where to plug kettle into safely. Beds were very uncomfortable and pillows seemed very old. Room was quite tatty with blind on one window missing. I'd like to say you get what you pay for but being say before Silverstone weekend we paid a hugely inflated price and it definitely wasn't worth £130 for a twin room for the night.
The bar and lounge area was very nice and the staff friendly and efficient My room was nice and quiet and the shower in my ensuite was excellent.
My room could have been cleaner as it was dusty, however the bedding was very soft, clean and comfortable. The ensuite requires upgrading too, however I believe the hotel is being refurbished and from what I saw they are gradually doing a good job of it.
My bicycle was safe overnight is the function room. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast (not included in the price) was good. The bed was comfy.
The curtain were very thin and did not keep the light out at 0430 in the morning.
Central, convenient location. Good evening meal. White cotton bed linen and fluffy towels. Comfortable bed.
Attic room, steep stairs.low headroom around side of bed. Road noise .No TV remote. Needed a deep clean in places.
very good stay.
Good location
The tv didn’t work- no signal. Ok didn’t want to use it for long but just didn’t work
Great place and the staff are so friendly.
Nice location and the service was great
Great location Good value for the money I paid Staff attentive, big clean and comfortable room
Lovely Breakfast
Spot on location, friendly environment good food.
The room was big enough to accommodate 3 adults, appreciate the tea coffee and the kitle provided. The wash room was good.
We arrived late after 20;00 pm and got shocked that the main entrance was locked , so had to wait outside waiting the people to open it after multiple calls
This place is utterly filthy and feels completely primitive. My room had bedsheets and pillowcases clearly hadn't been washed and still smelled like the previous guests sweat. To make matters worse, there was hair left in the bathtub. The entire property is in a shocking state of disrepair—the doors, windows, and fixtures are so ancient and worn out that the whole place just needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. I have never seen such a stinky, neglected hotel in my entire life. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs.
Nothing
It’s a pub and right in the centre of the town.
Nothing it was great, even tho i did bump my head a few times on the low ceilings.
After reading some of the reviews, i thought what was i coming into I need not worry Great place, helpful and friendly staff Big bright clean warm and comfortable room
Stayed here for work on a fairly regular basis for a while. It is very much a workers hotel, most other customers from HS2. It's a very good location if you want to be in the center of Brackley, with a number of eating and drinking options right on the doorstep (Old Bakery and Old Fire Station are particularly good for breakfast, the Turkish restaurant a few doors down is excellent). It has a carpark, accessed through Waitrose behind, but parking there can be limited and complicated as to which spaces you can take. Parking on the marketplace outfront is ok at night.
Not particularly comfortable, and is tired and worn. Staff could be friendlier, and a language barrier meant they couldn't really understand my questions. They lost one of my bookings, and I had to go elsewhere at late notice. I didn't go back again after that.
Location is superb. Very historic building. Parts go back to 1500’s
Needs some updating in areas but only minor things like usb charging in rooms.
We had a wonderful time. Breakfast is great, staff excellent atmosphere Lovely and comfortable highly recommend that you stay here
Nothing not to dislike
Great stay guys. Good location and room was very clean staff were excellent cheers
Nothing
No directions to the room number, eaves of the hotel are really low, room smelt, bed was uncomfortable. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
Nothing
It was dirty. The room had no heating. It was damp.
The rooms were clean and presentable.
I had to swap rooms. First room, there was no hairdryer as stated in the room facilities. So I had to go and ask for one. Second room, later in the evening after buying a takeaway to take to my room and watch TV, I found that there was no remote control for the TV. So I had to go and ask about the TV. The staff member seemed to think it was amusing and said no there isn't one. I said this was unacceptable and they changed my room to one where the TV did work. Also, the first room was very cold. The second was okay. I don't know why they didn't give me that room in the first place. Also, I decided to have a glass of wine in the bar. The bar area is very nice, however, not so much the quality of the wine.
Great location for work Clean, comfortable room, Great service, friendly staff and locals. Brilliant breakfast for the money
Old and shabby in places, but you can see work being done Did not effect my stay
Great place 👌
Close to where we wanted to go . Staff were polite . Old fashioned pub accommodation. Very basic but it was fine .
We only had one towel between 2 of us only realised in the morning so couldn’t do anything about it except share .
For the money, a great little hotel Clean, friendly and charming place
Nothing not to dislike
The firestation cafe up the road. Best breakfast in town
Starting with the door to the room. The lock was really difficult to use, needing brute force to open it. The terrible sloping floors. Your feet were higher than your head, and the single bed was at such an angle because of the floor that it felt like it was trying to tip you out! Our room was full of flies, buzzing around. I spent half an hour wacking them with a rolled up towel. The whole room was just tired. Even the toilet seat had been repaired / bodged with white silicone. The local drunks were very vocal well into the night. And someone in the hotel sounded like an elephant going up and down the stairs in the middle of the night. We only booked the room as a halfway stop homeward bound. To be honest, it was pretty depressing and wasn't worth the price paid. We didn't eat at the property, so cannot comment on the food.
It’s a traditional old coaching inn so has a nice bar as well as comfortable accommodation - perfect!
Nothing
The staff really tried hard to to make our stay a pleasant one, they were all very smart polite and helpful. The bar and reception area are very nice oak panelled rooms and the drinks served in the bar were perfect and good value. The coffee at breakfast was first class.
Despite the staff efforts this hotel is let down by detail. The court yard at the rear was lovely to take a drink but had a faint smell of sewage. I was traveling with my wife and my friend was solo, they managed to give us a tiny room and my friend a huge one, we did get a room change with little fuss. The room wasn't the cleanest with dust and stains in the bathroom and three flights of stairs to climb. Although we were asked if we wanted a full English breakfast the night before in the morning it was just served having taken no choices, my wife is allergic to mushrooms so she wasn't pleased to get one without consultation, the bacon looked like it had spent no more than 30 seconds in a microwave, totally inedible. We expected better for £15 each!!
Very convergent to where we were going. Literally out the front door.
The visual also off out room was not great. It looked like a converted stable which itt may have been once. It was clean and comfortable though which was just what we were looking for
Outstanding
Location good
Mattress on bed was far to soft
Very friendly and clean
Nice central location enjoyed the stay
Parking could have been better
Friendly and welcoming and helpful staff Good location
After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit concerned, how ever, I didn't need to be Great service, big clean and comfortable room Good value Well done, and thank you
