The Countryman Hotel

Ein typisches familiäres BnB mit sehr freundlichem, hilfsbereitem und gutem Service. Beim Frühstück wurden Extrawünsche erfragt. Wir haben uns fünf Tage sehr willkommen und wohl gefühlt. Sehr sauber. Tolle Ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Leider haben wir vergessen ein herzliches Danke im Gästebuch zu hinterlassen! Das soll hiermit nachgeholt werden xxx

Kein Tisch im Zimmer.

Die Lage war ok. Direkt an der Hauptdurchfahrtstrasse. 30min zur Küste.

Wir konnten erst um punkt 4pm einchecken. Sehr einfaches Frühstück. Kühler Frühstücksraum

Off street parking was wonderful. It was meticulously clean. The hosts were very friendly helpful with exploring Cornwall. Breakfast was great!

Very blunt and non friendly owners. 1. Couldn’t speak a single straight sentence with smile. 2. Didn’t offer any help with parking 3. 2nd floor room with no lift, despite requesting Lowe floor room. 4. Limited breakfast and order would leave us tensed given the way they were taken 5. Strict checkout at 10, requested 15 min extra but not allowed

Easy to find.

Not a hotel. Its a B&B/Guest house. Falsely advertised. Yes you get breakfast but its 1 portion per person. They have a check in cut off which is absurd. If you’re trying to get there from the North i wouldnt choose this spot as the hosts want you in by 7pm. They will extend it till 10pm for a charge but after 10pm if you’re late your booking is cancelled? Seriously? Didnt make sense when i had already paid for the entire lenght of stay. Old school rooms with lost of storage apace but less practicalities. No mirror or hooks to hang stuff in the toilet or in the room. No towel rack and the extractor fan was faulty. We were 6 people including 2 kids. My kids dont eat breakfast and we were questioned on why we got an extra breakfast? We didnt. It was my sons but he didnt eat it so it was shared amongst us. The manager/care taker person was very awkward and rude. They offered every other person in the dining hall croissants apart from us or my son. Tells you alot about the mannerism and hospitality. One big plus was the cleaner/helped person - Lucy, she was great and very approachble and helpful!

Sue was very welcoming. The beds were comfortable, the sheets smelt lovely and fresh, and breakfast was delicious! We will definitely stay again.

The room was uncomfortably warm, and there wasn’t even a fan. Opening the window wasn’t really an option either, as the constant heavy lorry traffic outside made it almost impossible to sleep. Unfortunately, the overall experience was made worse by the male owner, who came across as uninterested, unwelcoming and rather unfriendly. He was also walking barefoot between the kitchen and dining area, which did not give a particularly hygienic impression. He seemed to pay far more attention to his young female assistant than to the guests. Breakfast was another major disappointment. He seemed unable to keep track of the orders, and something was wrong with almost everyone’s breakfast. Many guests received food that was different from what they had ordered. He even told us that breakfast was taking so long because they only had one microwave. The English breakfast was bland and appeared to have been largely prepared in the microwave. There was no gluten-free menu at all, and when we asked about gluten-free options, they were unable to recommend or offer anything suitable. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

The breakfast was exceptional,was always asked if you would like any more. The hosts Sue and Kevin were really lovely and always helpful nothing was too much trouble.

I loved that its a quiet little Town and at the same time not too far from visit points like Padstow and Titangel Castle. Kevin and Suzane (owners) were very welcoming and frendly.Sue welcomed us by present us with everything avaiable in the property and in the Town which was very usefull specially when you have children. Good size room with plenty of furniture so you can keep everything nice and tide during your stay, like if you were in your own home. Very well decorated, a loved it. Brilliant food, plenty to choose from. Children loved it as well. Super recommend!!!!! I wish all the best to Suzane and Kevin and the business. 😀😀😀

The breakfast is nice but takes forever and ever to get even if you are up early. Most times the owner gets your order wrong.

I have stayed at hotels in literally all parts of the world including many in UK and all over Europe - this is one of the few, maybe the only, where I didn't feel welcome. It's understandable that you aren't allowed to charge e-bikes and the like but they also snoop around and unplug your toothbrush, pathetic. The village is nice but the hotel is on main street and there is traffic noise through the whole night.

The room was very nicely decorated and clean. The bed was soooo comfortable and it was nice to have a room with sash windows that could stay open during the night in the hot weather. The breakfast was so lovely

Nothing really. There are steps down from the carpark at the back and then stairs up to the rooms. But keeping in with the look of the hotel a lift wouldn't work. Our toilet didn't flush a couple of times but that is really nit picking. Maybe could have done with extra chair as there were 2 of us

I had a lovely stay. The room was clean and cosy, and the bed was very comfortable which meant I had a fantastic sleep. It very much felt like a little home from home, and the sink in the bedroom was handy. Sue helped me with my bags and was friendly when I arrived and checked in. I didn't have breakfast as I opted for a lie in, but I will say, it did smell good! The WiFi was also pretty good, and it was a nice,. peaceful area, with a great fish and chips shop nearby. I'd say very good value for money, especially with how close it is to the coast and tourist hotspots like Boscastle and Tintagel.

I couldn't lock the shower room door. I tried repeatedly but one part of the lock was lower than the connecting bit. Unsure if I was missing a trick or not, but it meant I couldn't relax in the shower as I was paranoid someone may walk in! I was going to see if I had better luck with a bath but there's no plug for this, so assuming it isn't to use. A few of the shared toilets also had no soap, which meant either bringing soap from the room or washing hands in the room. Car parking was a bit of a hassle when lots of people were staying. Could.also do with a fan in each room, especially in this weather, as they can be quite stuffy at times. Thankfully the windows open quite wide to help a little with this though. All nitpicking though!

La struttura è una casa tradizionale del posto arredata benissimo. La padrona di casa è molto accogliente e pratica. La stanza anche se piccola, aveva tutto, e anch’essa era arredata con eccellente gusto.

Molto pulita. Buona abbondante colazione anche se il servizio è un po lento, forse perché ci sono solo i due proprietari ed una collaboratrice a gestire tutte le richieste

I had a really pleasant stay at the hotel. My room was clean, comfortable and well maintained, which made my stay very relaxing. The breakfast was also very good, with plenty of choice and everything fresh and tasty. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. I felt very comfortable during my stay and would happily return again. Highly recommended!

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, bequemes Bett und ein sauberes gemeinsames Bad. Ich konnte das Fahrrad sicher unterbringen. Bester Fish and Chips Laden schräg gegenüber mit super vegetarischen Burger! Allein deswegen lohnt sich die Nacht hier.

This was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was immaculately clean, very cosy and peaceful. The hosts were very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious, I would definitely stay here again. Location was very good to visit places of interest.

Everything about The Countryman is fantastic. From the family who run it, to the location. This is my 2nd time staying and will definitely make a 3rd visit!

We had a wonderful stay! The host was very friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was excellent. We stayed in a family room with two bedrooms—one with a double bed and the other with bunk beds—which was perfect for our small family. The village is peaceful and charming, with an amazing beach just a 15-minute drive away. Highly recommended!

Single room meant shared bathroom and 2 shared toilets, but I knew this in advance, and one of the toilets was directly opposite my room. As it turned out I was the only guest, so no problem

I was warmly welcomed to this excellent hotel in Camelford. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and a great breakfast. There are a variety of eateries within walking distance and you are only a short drive away from the coastal attractions but without the crowds.

The breakfast was excellent. Good choice, well cooked and more than enough to eat. I always use this hotel when I travel to the area, because I know how good it is. I couldn't get a proper signal on the TV, but I think that was probably because of the weather conditions during my stay.

I was quite satisfied with my stay. I only stayed one night on this occasion, but I have stayed longer on a previous occasion and that was an equally satisfying stay.

Superb location very close to the centre of Camelford. Lovely staff and fantastic breakfast.

Felt slightly less homely/cosy than you might expect. But this was made up for in value for money and the nice folk looking after you as as well as the facilities being 100% clean and comfortable

The room that I stayed in, I think it was a little bit too cold really the heat did come on but it was still a bit cold for me so I wasn't 100% comfortable because of the coldness other than that the room is perfect

The weather was awful and the rooms a little cold, but we were visiting in early December so not surprising.

Perfectly suited for what I needed. The room was very clean and comfortable and the hostess was friendly and welcoming.

Could do with a slightly longer lead on the kettle, but that's a very minor thing.

The male owner was very rude and surly I didnt bother with breakfast on last day inorder to limit contact with this dreadful man
