Location close to the motorway and Tauranga city centre. Clean and tidy premises. Friendly staff.

We weren’t told until after we booked the pool wasn’t available. There were kids screaming up and down the hallway from St Kent’s until after 9pm at night The buffet was very minimal

Reception staff could barely understand or speak English, couldn't get aircon unit to work as batteries were flat, girl came to replace them and then tried to make out like I wasn't capable of operating it. Room was dirty, shower was filthy, glass on shower was white, not clear and pink mould on bottom, no tissues in box, just basic stuff and paid alot for 2 nights , midweek.

Not being able to get the restaurant menu that is advertised. Only to be told it is available Monday to Thursday. The Friday to Sunday Menu is not great

We had the studio room, it was a little small and the bathroom was basic, but they are in the process of doing each room up and this room will be done up in time.

Room a bit small if you had a couple with a few suitcases, not much space to put them.

Not reburbished, tired and restaurant food terrible. Should not be an Accor more like 3 star has been.

The hotel has been renovated and is under new management Mercure. Exceptional high-quality furbished rooms and service is amazing. So comfortable room and facilities. Highly recommend.

The toilet flush system needs replacing. There was a sign to press flush button twice, however this didnot always work. (when it gets to this stage to push button twice, it's usually a sign that it needs replacing.)

Waited at the restaurant for 10 minutes, nobody served me even when a staff member walked passed twice and I was in view of your check in staff member too. Returned to my room.

Bathrooms are from the 1960s. Water everywhere when showering. The bench tops and cabinets in the bathroom swollen and glued together. Reception staff just look at you blankly until you feel bad about yourself for asking a simple question. They are not there to help solve your issue. Laundry charges.... Television issues.... But Tuaranga is beautiful.

On Booking:check in from 2pm. We were waiting until 5pm to have the room card. The manager said checking time is anytime after 2pm and it is decided by the hotel but not the guests. I was Very angry about that answer.

I would highly reccomend the restaraunt on site for dinner. The food was lovely and fairly priced. The service in there was great swell, very nice and warm environment. Breakfast buffet which was include din our package was great as well. A great variety of hot an cold food, sweet or savoury options. Upon arrival, the lobby is beautiful and the bathrooms on the ground floor are very moder. The lift was also a bonus as we were on the 2nd floor and had luggage.

For the price you pay, I was a little dissapointed to be honest. The room was a good size but the TV is outdated and we were unable to chromecast/ no sky tv. Our remote didnt work and we ended up having 4x staff in and out of our room over a 2 hour period trying to fix this for us just so that we could watch something. (it was cold out so we really wanted to lay in bed an just watch something and relax after our long trip.) The only cutlery you get is 2x cups, 2x teaspoons, 2x wine glasses and 2x drinking glasses so nothing to eat food with if you were to order in which was odd- I guess its to encourage people to eat at the restaraunt on site but again, it would have been nice to enjoy food in our room after the long trip. Upon checking out the receptionist was trying to charge me for the incorrect rooms fee despite telling her 3x my name and room number- she continued to call me by "jackie" which is not my name haha and tried to charge me for breakfast and a coffee (i did not have coffee and breakfast was included in the price I paid in full prior to arrival for mum and i) The swimming pool does not look like the pictures on the website, is outdated and needs a resurface. I paid close to $300 per night and was just not impressed unfortunately. I was kept up both nights with the neighbors spa bath which shook the wall on which the bed was against and was so loud in our room...I even took videos to show the receptionist because after 2x nights of that going off between 11pm and 2am I was in a bit of a mood due to lack of sleep. The extra blankets from the wardrobe were also ripped/worn and stained which was a bit off putting.

Breakfast was included in the tariff and was delicious. The location is very central and easy to walk to town. Room was spacious and bathroom newly refurbished and clean. Good shower pressure.

The windows could be opened which was good, but being old and single glazed did let in a bit of road noise. We felt the bed was not comfortable and didn't sleep well. But those where the only two things we found fault with

Great location , nicely renovated , good valve and friendly staff but very disappointing after looking forward to a nice meal and after making our choice from the menu in our room we discovered that most of the meals weren’t available from Friday to Sunday .There was no mention of this on the menu .Also very disappointing that the hotel does not have sky and not available to watch any of the sports we had hoped to watch .Once again there was no mention of the sky being unavailable. Had we known we may have booked another accommodation.

The room was pretty expensive for 1 night. Yes we do realize that it was long weekend and we only just booked the day of staying I feel they put prices up knowing that its a long weekend because we have stayed in the exact same room for way cheaper. Not complaining just saying..

\Nothing really.

Only one end of the hotel was open for entry and our room was at the other end - a very long walk! Made worse by no parking near the door - had to park at the other end of the hotel, so a long walk to entrance, then a long walk to the room. Around 500 metres altogether ! Room was not serviced well, the toilet paper was not replenished, same for coffee. Walls were very thin - a lot of noise from adjoining rooms, snoring etc. I was 5 minutes late for breakfast and was turned away.

The cushions on the bed smelt and pillows to flat. The room had a funny odour. Needed fresh water in the fridge for kettle and drinking rather than getting it down stairs.

I liked the location of the hotel. Was good location and allowed me to get to where I needed to get quickly.

I thought the windows were a little outdated. Some of the hinges felt weak and so even though the aircon was at full blast, the heat didn't keep for very long. It also took ages to get the heat up and running.

I was expecting to be able to have dinner at the hotel on the Saturday night along with my family but this wasn't really going to work as there were 15 of us to celebrate my graduation. The young man on the bar told us it was only him on the dining room and room service. So I was disappointed we had to take our dining experience else where.
