It was a great location to relax in nature, it was also great for getting your daily steps in and had access to a private beach which which was quite and intimate.

Lovely, beautiful place to vacate.

The restaurant was nice. Really liked the minto cabin.

The lack of beach and the long long walk down to the coastline area were an issue plus the bar area by the water area wasn’t open. The resort on has one small pool.

From arrival to departure the staff were amazing. We were also lucky enough to meet Steve one of the owners of the resort and he was great, took time to welcome all the guests at dinner individually. The food and drinks were great. All the staff were very friendly and attentive without being too much. The accommodation and view's were amazing. It was my first visit to Geejam but it certainly will not be my last, I love it!!!

The hotel is beautiful, a unique stay in Jamaica. The design, the facilities 👌🏼 The staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant was really good. The pool was well maintained. Loved the pool/snooker table. I recommend ordering room service breakfast in the room at least once, if you stay in the rooms.

Nothing much. The location is a bit long to reach but that's why it's so calm and has such beautiful views on the shore.

We really had a blast at geejam! The view especially from the room was absolutely breathtaking, the staff was very friendly and courteous and made our stay an absolute delight. The rooms are very spacy, beautifully decorated and very spacious. The Jamaican breakfast was delicious and every morning it was slightly different and there was always something new to taste. The rooms where very clean and the overall room service was top notch. Thanks to Newton for the warm welcome and for making our stay a memorable one. We highly recommend geejam and can‘t wait to attend the new years party in december!

Excellent but far from perfect. Every day there was something not available and usually for several days. At dinner for example you would wait 30minutes for your food (that’s ok) but then the item is unavailable. You should know this within a few minutes of ordering or before. Not enough masks/snorkels. No champagne glasses. The new waterside bar/restaurant will be a good addition.

My husband and I celebrated his 50th Birthday in Jamaica and stayed at the beautiful Geejam Hotel. Our cabin was Rocksteady which had the most gorgeous water view from the room. What a way to wake up each morning! Geejam was such a tranquil environment. Everyone was very kind and helpful, the facilities everywhere were very clean, and the grounds were well-kept. We spoke to Steve, the co-owner multiple times and also were invited on a studio tour which was amazing! Steve was so down to earth and welcoming throughout our stay. We explored Frenchman’s Cove, Winnifred Beach, downtown Port Antonio, and our favorite excursion was the River Raft with Captain Mark and lunch at Belinda’s. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Our drivers were experienced and made us feel safe the entire trip. We loved Jamaica and especially this non-resort area. Geejam is a special place and we were honored to share in the history of it. We look forward to returning in the future.

Geejam was fantastic the only disappointment was we only booked 2 nights!! Will definitely return for longer next time,on our must return soon list. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't of been more helpful and friendly. The room was just as pictures show ,we loved the artwork on the walls brought the jamaican vibe alive the view was breathtaking.OMG the food was delicious best oxtail and jerk chicken we have had. The swimming pool was great so warm and yet again the view WOW . Thank you Geejam( Steve and co)for a wonderful stay can't wait to return

Room quite worn, poor lighting,

The location is amazing, it’s like jungle meets sea, rooms are beautiful, and staff are amazing as is the food. The who’s who of the crown world have stayed here and produced here. We will definitely be back

Our only issue was infinity pool was closed for maintenance and we couldn’t use our hot tub as had a fault. But they gave us money off and free lunch so was handled excellent, if wasn’t for these would be a ten and we will def go back

The facility was fantastic with great service. The guy at the front desk on Friday was fantastic and the lady at the check out was even better. Will be back summer or winter.

Geejam is perfect in every way in an idyllic setting. The Rumba rooms were out of this world!

There was nothing we didn’t like!

I love the greenery, this time we stayed in one of the cabins and it felt very secluded with a nice view. Despite the rain it was very scenic.

Not much to say but the menu doesn’t change. We’ve been twice before so we ventured off the property this time around for meals.

Absolutely worth every penny. Service is so amazing - they really know what they're doing. Room was very well laid out with a stunning view of the ocean. The whole resort is tucked away in the mountainside like it's always been there. Love the way the buildings have been built around the existing nature so it all feels natural. We cannot wait to return.

Geejam is beautiful. It’s hard to fault anything. Staff were friendly, our room was HUGE and just very cool. Enormous bathroom with a shower that could fit about 8 people in. Food at the restaurant was delicious. I really enjoyed my time at Geejam

So beautiful. The rooms are on a hill, so you can see the ocean high up. Great design of the room. All the amenities are comfortable. Love that the first round of mini fridge is free, it just makes so much sense. Big window to open up the room for ocean breeze. Staff are amazing. Especially Arthur by the beach, he took us to see turtles on kayak. The water was so beautiful and peaceful.

There are a lot of stairs in the property, especially going to the private beach. However that’s your trade off if you want a view at room and also a private beach. The restaurant was nice, but for the price, you can get better food within 5 mins of drive.

The staff there could not have been better so kind and always helpful. The what's app service for pre ordering food and asking questions of the front desk staff was quick and easy and always answered immediately. I saw reviews about the food being slow this is not the case at all, we didn't wait more than 15 min for any meal. The hotel did not seem crowded and you always had space at the restaurant, pool and beach. Arthur the lifeguard was lovely and took me out to find the sea turtles which was fun.

There are a lot of stairs at this property so with a baby it was hard to manoeuvre all her stuff everywhere so not necessarily a negative, just it's nice to know that if walking up and down a lot of stairs is not for you then this property will likely not be for you. Also I found the price for transportation to the local attractions exorbitant ($42 USD to go to frenchmans cove 3 min away, $60 for winnifred which is not much further). For the price you're paying for the stay would be nice if they just kept a vehicle one of the many staff could take over say every hour or half hour rather than calling a cab from the town 30 min away to drive 3 min. probably a lot greener too.

The views were unreal! The cottages in the grounds that we stayed at were well equipped and you were truly immersed in the surroundings. The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival.

I have metal work in my ankle and a terrible fitness level (it appears) so the stairs from our cottage and the private beach were tricky for me. The restaurant food was lovely but the waiting times and communication was lacking for me.

There was a good variety at breakfast, taste and Presentation excellent. Property was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Location is a winner, and every detail was Met, so we had a wonderful stay.

The Geejam is located in a beautiful spot. The rooms are incredible, the beach is perfect and the food is incredible.

We only wish that the staff lived up to the expectations. The receptionists are just not good. Very unhelpful, and have no willingness to even try. From asking for towels for the beach to organising a trip to Rio Grande - everything seemed like a hassle. Same goes for the staff of the restaurant. Although the food is very good, be prepared for: at least 1 hour waiting time every time you order, multiple mishaps and misunderstandings resulting in the wrong order arriving (or not arriving). Finally be careful with the final bill. After leaving I was reached out to by one of the receptionists to say that my bill did not include a bill for one of the dinners and so they decided (before confirming with me) to charge my card. The bill was already paid for and it was an error of the waitress, which the receptionists did not verify. Although the hotel is great, be prepared for some tough encounters with the staff that in a LOT of cases seems like they just don’t care. A note to the management: being charged after settling the bill, without permission is against any hotel booking policies. I hope you can give your staff the appropriate training so future customers don’t have to go through that.

Everything! The setting of this hotel was so beautiful. The staff were amazing and so accommodating even prior to our check in. We had difficulty in getting transportation from our bus terminal to the hotel and when I explained this, they organised everything and were able to add it to our bill. Food and cocktails were great, rooms were so comfortable and well decorated. There was plenty to do within the hotel even when it was raining, we could have spent all our time in the hotel! Private beach area with water sports and a great guide once you take the steps down!

The owner and management were kind enough to upgrade us to a private villa. Our stay was outstanding and private exactly what we were hoping for and more.

This place is a jewel for nature lovers. The peace and excellent service is everywhere. The staff and owners were above and beyond to make our stay an unforgettable experience. The exquisite cuisine was the top of the cake. Best lobster ever!! Steve has been an amazing host. Looking to repeat our visit to this private paradise in Jamaica.

Geejam is a magical place. We chose this place to be able to adventure in and around Portland. However, once we got there, it was impossible to leave the grounds. we spent our entire time there. At the their private “ beach” they have a lifeguard who is also known as the turtle whisperer, and takes you on private snorkeling tours to see the reef and get up close and personal with the turtles. The rooms were stocked with everything you could think of, including cold beers to end your day with and a coffee press with 100 % Blue Mountain Coffee to be able to wake up and make yourself a really good cup of coffee to start your day off right.

If you make it down to the beach, be sure to bring some drinks with you as there are no drink options once you get down there.

Fantastic resort off the beaten path but perfectly situated for the vacation we were looking for. Every one we engaged with from check-in, to housekeeping, to restaurant servers went out of their way to be helpful. We had a maintenance issue and had to change rooms. Move was inconvenient but staff kept us updated. helped move our stuff and even sent up a fantastic tropical fruit platter and banana bread (warm and tasty) after the move - I was thoroughly impressed with their customer service and turned what could have been a negative experience into something very positive. I cannot say enough about our wonderful Geejam experience we will definitely be back.

If I had to say something negative .... while the restaurant servers were all excellent and the food was delicious, it was clear the kitchen was short staffed and it was always a long wait for food. Frankly, it helped us slow down, enjoy long dinners with wonderful conversations and lean into our laid back vacation.

Beautiful and serene location and property with a wonderful staff. The perfect remote getaway for a couple trip.

The view from the pool is beautiful and some of the rooms are very special (the jacuzzi at night is great). It’s close yo Frenchman’s Cove beach which is one of the best ones in Jamaica (it’s paid and it’s open until a certain hour in the afternoon). You can walk (15-20 min) or you can take a taxi, it’s uphill going back. The food at the restaurant was good. Service was also overall good.

Be prepared that there are a lot of stairs within the property and if you want to go to their own beach which I think is worth it, be mindful of this in case you have any sort of health problems.

This was our first visit to Geejam but it won’t be the last. Upon arrival, after 8pm, we were greeted very kindly by Saleema (please forgive me if that’s not how it’s spelled) who checked us in quickly and guided us to our room. What a beautifully appointed room! Spacious. Clean. Comfortable. Stacked with snacks and drinks. Could not have asked for more or better. In the morning, I was able to enjoy the view from our balcony and what a beautiful view it was! Can’t say enough about the bed! Perhaps the most comfortable bed and pillows in any hotel!! If we didn’t have to attend events daily we could have very easily stayed in the bed the entire time. Every staff member we encountered was very pleasant, kind, willing to answer questions, and accommodate requests. The meals at Bushbar restaurant were delicious and the atmosphere enjoyable. Looking forward to our return (after the Portland roads have been fixed!)

The location and setting was amazing. The surrounding jungle, the beach, the area were all great. The hotel facilities were also pretty good and the breakfast was great.

The service, the food at dinner and the drinks were not good. 1 meal was almost inedible. Certainly not good for the price of the hotel and menu. It felt like the bar and restaurant were being run by inexperienced teenagers. We ate down in the village or elsewhere most nights and bought a bottle of rum for our room.

The food was great - we both enjoyed it. The view from the restaurant was amazing. It was so cool and there was always a wonderful breeze.

The breathtaking views were amazing. The secluded yet accessible location helped us unplug while having access to great amenities.

The incline and walk to the beach and the rooms was no joke. No more than 2 Rum punches if one is planning to navigate the terrain.

Loved the location, setting, delicious food but most of all the staff were exceptional.

It was on a very dusty road which had been dug up for repairs. Walking on it was quite uncomfortable and there was nowhere else you could go for a walk. It was very expensive, but probably the best hotel in the area. Service in the restaurant could be quite slow, but then it was a very nice place to wait for your food. Finally my laundry came back unironed!

Luxurious rooms, great staff, friendly and laid back vibe. Wonderful Jamaican breakfast. GREAT birds both on the property and in the surrounding area if you bird watch.

We stayed in Drum & Bass which is in a great location with a fabulous view. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The overall vibe of our room and the hotel is one of understated luxury and relaxation. The private beach whilst small was well equipped and had a lifeguard from 9-5 every day, who took time to talk to each guest and inform them about the bay. They will also take you out kayaking or snorkelling.

Some of the foliage immediately in front of the balcony could be trimmed to enhance the view as it has become quite tall.

Be prepared for a 3 hour shuttle or taxi at best from the airport. Due to winding narrow roads, pot holes...etc. But once there you're all set.
