Fabulous location - short walk to restaurants but not too close to be too noisy. Helpful friendly staff. Lovely pool, sun beds popular when we were there in September but always found some for our group of four. Breakfast was great.

We found our restaurant dinner disappointing. Portions were small and not very hot, staff seemed keen to clear salad and dessert bar before we finished, even though the restaurant was due to stay open for at least another 30 minutes.

The staff were friendly, efficient, and lovely. The place was so clean with brilliant views of the lake. The pool was lovely, and the location was great. Great breakfast and a lovely afternoon tea included in the price.

If you want to eat at the restaurant you need to book the day before. The evening restaurant was not so good. We arrived at 8pm and by 8:30 all the salads had been cleared away. So we did not get a complete meal.

Staff never appeared to be at reception itself (they were sitting behind a second desk / wall - so not very welcoming when walking through the lobby). Breakfast chef could have been a little more friendly. Room was a little small, but good views.

Absolutely fabulous location just a few minutes from a host of restaurants and shops, but far enough away so it's quiet! About 3 mins from the Lido Beach Club Bar and a rare stretch of beach beside the lake. 3 mins from the bus stop that takes you to towns north and south of Garda. Also 5 minute walk from the ferry across the lake. Staff fabulous, pool the perfect temp, wonderful! Also loved the provision of pool /beach towels in reception.

We booked a standard room and it was quite tiny for two (no view) but bathroom was really spacious. We were barely in the room, so size not an issue. Did need an iron and had to use the laundry service to get clothes ironed (no iron in the room) but was all delivered to our room in a couple of hours.

After reading all the wonderful reviews of this hotel we thought it was too good to be true, but wow,the hotel certainly has everything you want from a wonderful relaxing holiday to fantastic quality food. The hotel is in a great location, it’s only a 5/10 min walk to the ferry port and the centre. There are lots of shops, restaurant's and bars. Everywhere is within easy reach and it’s very flat if you like walking, although the hotel entrance is on a slight hill but there are steps if you prefer. The food is amazing and its nice to know that the food is prepared when you order it and it hasn’t been sitting there like a buffet, which is great because your food is always hot. The hotel does not offer All Inclusive but it does serve afternoon tea at 4pm everyday which is a lovely touch. The wine selection at dinner is very good. The staff are lovely and very friendly, they are always smiling and happy to help you. The pool is lovely with plenty of sunbeds we never had a problem getting one. The evening entertainment was ok . We had partial view room which was lovely especially of an evening when you wanted to relax on the balcony with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. I would definitely recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return again.

To all who loved E le T and had many repeat holidays to this Garda gen.Staff,sevice and housekeeping faultless but since the movement of Headchef “ Mimmo” and pastry chef “ Philip” the evening dinner has deteriorated markedly from previous standards.Beware rebooking regular clients!

Beautiful small hotel with very good staff. Good breakfast and nice touches like free pool towels and food provided every day for guests 4-5.30pm. Had a lake view room with a big balcony, with chairs and table and sun loungers.

Although the lake view room was lovely and had a nice view, the hotel was on a very busy main road into Garda.

An absolutely gorgeus hotel, in a magnificenct setting. We had the Deluxe Double Room for Lake View and it was unbelievably pretty. Pool was excellent as were the staff and there were plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Paradise on earth

Absolutně nepoměr výkon x cena. Měli jsme mít pokoj s částečným výhledem na jezero, požadovala jsem vyšší patro. Pokoj jsme dostali v prvním patře a s výhledem na parkoviště. Po příchodu do pokoje byl cítit nepříjemný zápach, který setrvával po celou dobu našeho pobytu. Povlečení naprosto obyčejné, žádná kvalita,opět neodpovídající ceně za noc. Snídaně každý den to samé, navíc opravdu strašné a nedobré pečivo, minimální výběr. Už bych se určitě do hotelu nevracela.

Wonderful hotel overlooking the lake and within strolling distance of all the facilities Garda has to offer. Particularly chose it because it has a pool. Great breakfasts and very helpful staff. Beautiful room with vast terrace and stunning views.

Traumhafte Lage, hervorragendes Frühstück mit einem superfreundlichen Service! Insgesamt ein sehr ruhiges Hotel und sehr unkompliziert. Wir hatten im letzten Jahr das berüchtigte Hotel in Garda, wo man jeden Morgen das Frühstück für den nächsten Tag ankreuzen sollte. Das war eher lästig. Im Excelsior le Terrazze kann man jeden Morgen aus einer Vielzahl von Leckereien auswählen. Das war für uns ein perfektes Frühstück.

In der Hochsaison kann es vielleicht mit den Hotelparkplätzen voller werden. Wir haben Ende Juni immer problemlos einen Platz bekommen.

It is very good hotel! Very nice and friendly staff. We had a partial view room which has a good view and quiet. Breakfast is good as well as location. The hotel is a bit uphill that could be a little problem for the old people. Parking is quite small. Overall a good place to stay.

This hotel is stunning and I cannot fault it in any way. The breakfasts are amazing, so much choice from cooked to continental. The views from the terrace are just stunning. Everywhere is spotlessly clean. There is always someone cleaning ! The best thing about the hotel is the staff. All staff go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome and they cannot do enough for you. They are all a credit to the hotel. Thank you to Vito for greeting us all so warmly each morning for breakfast and to Brenda for serving us our afternoon drinks on the terrace. We were so sad to leave but will definitely return ! Thank you for everything ❤️

We visited this Hotel for the first time last year....we loved it so much, that when we were looking for somewhere to celebrate a special birthday, we did not hesitate to book. I emailed the Hotel in advance to request a high floor room. As soon as we arrived, we were allocated a perfect room on the 3rd floor which we loved. The service at this Hotel is outstanding....breakfast taken outside on the terrace ( weather permitting) is a highlight...fresh omelettes, fruit, cereals, ham, cheeses, smoked salmon...and tea and coffee served at your table in the sunshine. Dinner is also an experience, wonderful salads, and then a la Carte choices for starters and mains, served to you. We didn't have room for pudding but they looked amazing. We would like to mention Vito and Ahmed, but all staff are amazing, my partner used to call one ' cheeky boy' unfortunately we didn't get his name, but he was so friendly, also the girls on the terrace bar with their beautiful smiles!! Our only negative observation is that some guests think it's acceptable to reserve sunbeds from 9am, and not return until after lunch and 4.30pm on more than one occasion. We watched people looking for beds and were very tempted to intervene! This is not the fault of the Hotel, there are signs! It's just sad that people are so selfish these days, ( they weren't all German ) Overall a wonderful Hotel, we can't wait to return....Thankyou to everyone....

Hotel Excelsior le Terrazze is a 4 star hotel...but really a 5 star. Everything has been superb: the room, the restaurant staff, housekeeping and reception...and the location. Everything is superbly managed. The breakfasts and dinners are excellent: superb choices each evening. We always chose our holiday Hotel very carefully; this is among our very best choices. The excellent complimentary afternoon refreshments gave another opportunity to chat with other guests. Thank you Excelsior Le Terrazze staff. Bernard and Jen of Durham, England.

We had a fantastic stay here in May. The staff were brilliant, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The entire waiting and bar staff were excellent. We simply could not fault them. Our Jet2 guide was good, and Nikki the Tui guide was exceptional. She gave us some great advice and ideas even though she wasn't our guide. Food was great, bedrooms comfortable and cleaned to a high degree. Entertainment on 2 nights were fabulous singers. I'm still missing the omelettes for breakfast. We are hoping to come back again as we loved it so much.

Clean, friendly, nice and modern. Great location. Pool was great. No issue with sun beds, even though there were still people who left towels on the beds and went out for the day.

Room was too small room 110, it was the only room available. It was listed as economy but nothing mentioned about it size. It was clean and well decorated but would have been more suited to a single occupancy.

We had a great week at this hotel. We booked directly with them and as we were staying seven nights they arranged a private transfer for us to the hotel and back to the airport at the end of our holiday. This meant our hotel started on a high and finished on a high. In between everything was amazing , hotel is very clean, modern, great facilities, relaxing bar area inside and out , fabulous patio to sit on to enjoy a drink, and breakfast out there was divine. Pool was lovely and much needed as it was very hot when we were there. You cannot reserve a sunbed with a towel as directed by the hotel, such a great idea, there was never any trouble getting a sunbed even in the afternoon. Breakfast buffet was divine everything you could want was catered for, really tasty. We were half board which was a nice change for us we normally do b and b, food at dinner was plentiful and tasty and always served with a smile by the waiting staff. Wine was excellent btw. My only and it is only one small criticism is that the desserts weren’t as amazing as the rest of the food. We had a room on the third floor at the front of the hotel with an amazing view of the lake. The hotel is on a busy road but I can honestly say it never bothered us at all not even round the pool. Easy access to the ferry port, be prepared to queue!! Didn’t use the bus service but heard from others it was easy to use if not a little crowded. All in all you would be hard pressed to find a nicer hotel with a nicer bunch of people serving you and helping you have a great holiday. Book it you won’t be disappointed.

We’ve recently returned from a stay here and it was a very enjoyable experience. Peaceful and stunning views. Good food, spotlessly clean and pleasant, efficient staff who really want to make your holiday enjoyable . Nice terraces for sitting out reading during the day or a drink in the evening. I noticed that another traveller stayed in room 228 which is I think the one we stayed in. It had everything we needed and the small balcony had the sun in the afternoon but it was rather small. We booked the last room available from Jet2 so I’m not complaining but I heard of others who booked direct to get the room they wanted. The location is superb with access to the promenade especially for a walk to Bardolino, the ferry point and bus station. The Friday market was good as were the local shops. Great place to explore from but also good pool etc for a relaxing time. I can totally understand why they have so many repeat visitors. Hopefully that will include us 😊

Excellent location. Very close to ferry port and bus station and Garda itself. Steep steps leading up to hotel would make it difficult to anyone with mobility issues. Hotel clean and comfortable as though it’s been recently refurbished. Room we stayed in 228 was small for 2 people. Comfortable bed and clean. Some rooms larger than others so check first. Food very nice. Limited choice though if staying half board - one meat, fish and veggie meal on offer plus a nice range of accompanying starters. Lovely breakfast. Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Nice swimming pool. Would recommend but check those room sizes first.

Stayed for 10 days in this lovely hotel at the end of May. As has been stated in many reviews the hotel is perfectly situated a short walk from Garda town & ferry stop for onward exploring of the beautiful Lake Garda. The food in the hotel is excellent. We stayed half board but were intending to eat out several nights but due to the quality of the hotel food only did so twice. Breakfast was also very good with lots of variety from omelettes, bacon, beans to cereal, fruit, yoghurts etc. At 4PM there is also 'afternoon tea' with small savoury & sweet bits available free with hot tea, a nice additional touch. The bar is fully stocked at reasonable prices and sitting on the terrace at night overlooking the lake is very pleasant at the end of a busy/relaxing day. Although the hotel was fully booked when we stayed there was always room around the pool with fresh towels available free each day. The hotel was always immaculately clean. However, my final comment must be for the staff. They were brilliant. Always polite, always professional, always seeing if you were ok & almost knowing your needs before you knew them yourself. If you are looking for a prime spot to explore Lake Garda, I would 100% recommend this hotel.

We spoke to some quests who were on their third return visit which say as a lot. If you want a relaxing quiet holiday this is the place.

Das Zimmer war eines der schlechtesten das wir je bekommen haben. Klein ,dunkel und eine sehr schlechte Aussicht. Außerdem hatte man nicht die Möglichkeit sich zusammen hinzusetzen, da leider nur ein Stuhl im Zimmer war. . Wir haben auf eine Wand in 3m Entfernung geschaut. Vollkommen inakzeptabel. Selbst auf Nachfrage war es nicht möglich ein anderes Zimmer zu buchen. Familie Ruprecht.

Lovely hotel, just over the road from the lake and only a short walk to ferry and town. Spotless everywhere, towels changed daily. The staff are all friendly and many guests are here every year. Meals superb , I have been 4 times and don't think I have had the same menu twice. I have already booked for next year!

Uns hat dieses Hotel ausgesprochen gut gefallen aufgrund der angenehmen Größe, der zentralen Lage - fußläufig nicht weit von der Promenade und dem Hafen - und der klassisch schönen Ausstattung. Hier fehlte wirklich nichts! Das gesamte Team ist überaus freundlich und aufmerksam und hat uns unseren Aufenthalt fein gemacht! Auch von der sehr guten Verpflegung (Frühstück/Halbpension/Menüwahl/frische Früchte, Salate, Omelettes, Dolci - alles perfekt) sowie der Sauberkeit der Zimmer und des Pools sowie Ausstattung des Restaurants waren wir begeistert. Der Blick auf den See von den Terrassen und Pool ist einfach wunderbar. Außerdem würden wir hier immer wieder ein Zimmer mit Balkon und direktem Seeblick buchen. Erst während unserem Aufenthalt ist uns aufgefallen, dass in diesem Hotel „Adult only“ gilt und dies haben wir als sehr angenehm und erholsam empfunden.

No air conditioning until 1st June which made sleeping quite uncomfortable. There were quite a few ants around the pool area.

Can not fault this hotel, beautiful views of the lake ,short walk to the front prom with lots of restaurants, shops. Ideal to get the ferry to other towns. Staff everyone friendly and helpful. Hotel spotless. If you are allergic to certain foods they will accommodate for you, just let them know. Lake garda is a beautiful place. We went with jet 2 and all went smoothly. Recommend front rooms or side rooms with view. We was in 436 good view sun all afternoon. Book you won't be disappointed . With hotel and location

Second time at this lovely hotel and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful room with a panoramic view of the lake. Immaculate throughout, great attention to detail, excellent food and service. Other guests good company - many of whom were also returning year after year to this gem of a hotel.

This is a wonderful hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel is beautiful and very clean,the view from the veranda is amazing overlooking the lake. The location is perfect with good ferry service and within proximity to other towns. Breakfast was delicious with so much variety including healthy choices of granola, nuts and seeds.

Great location close to the ferry terminal and town. Clean hotel with lovely pool terrace - pool towels included. Restaurant very good. Fridge in room handy - bottle of water replenished as needed which is always a great touch.

Only downside was the room I had was looking out onto a wall with extractor fan chimneys running 24/7. If sleeping with the window open you may need ear plugs.

Stayed here in May with my parents, who are both in their early 70s, and the hotel’s “Hotel & Relax” motto really does sum the place up perfectly. Set in the beautiful town of Garda on the shores of Lake Garda, the location is stunning, with lovely lake views from our balcony. The hotel definitely caters more towards an older crowd, and the slower pace really encourages proper relaxation and recuperation. The staff were exceptional throughout — professional, friendly and always helpful. The food quality was genuinely excellent. We stayed half board and, despite usually eating out a couple of nights on holiday, we ended up staying in every evening because the meals were so good. Breakfast was also far better than the standard continental buffet you often get elsewhere. The weather was mixed during our stay — cloudy and rainy for the first half of the week, then sunny later on — but it actually worked out well. We used the wetter days for excursions, including a trip to Verona where we got absolutely drenched, plus a vineyard visit and a walk to Bardolino. I also managed a 12-mile run around part of the lake. That’s what’s great about this area: you can do as much or as little as you want. The pool area was wonderfully quiet too, with more than enough sunbeds even on sunny days. In the evenings we often strolled along the promenade and stopped at a couple of the many lovely lakeside bars. Entertainment in the hotel itself was fairly limited, though there were a couple of very good singers during our week-long stay. Our room was a suite, kept spotless throughout, and had all the usual amenities you’d expect. I’d return to this hotel in a heartbeat, and if I’m lucky enough to visit again, I’d happily stay here again. For us, it was basically faultless.

The Excelcesior has an excellent location very near Garda town. A perfect place to base yourself to explore the surrounding area. The ferry is very near and some rooms look over the lake itself. The rooms are well equipped and very clean and comfortable. It is at the upper end of the budget but definitely worth treating yourself. The hotel quiet and is for over 16's. The staff are friendly and professional and cannot do enough for you. Any requests are carried out quickly and with good grace The pool is easily accessed and has loungers around it and towels available. Afternoon snacks are available and are complimentary. I would definitely stay here again.

Stay 6/5 to 13/5. Nice hotel, great location, nice food, friendly service, very clean. Most rooms I presume were very nice BUT beware Superior room 102. This room on 1st floor - actually ground level up the bank, is diabolical. 30cm (1ft) from end of bed to wall - hope you can squeeze past to get to other side of bed, dressing table, small table and one armchair. Yes one armchair for two people where other rooms have a sofa. The tiny balcony, in total shade all day, is also accessed "on the other side". Oh, and hope nobody parks their car in front and head height above your balcony. Breakfast in the restaurant is sit where you prefer BUT evening meal time is dedicated seating so be warned you're sitting in the dismal back corner in keeping with room 102. There is nothing in this review that the Hotel are not aware of from my review that I left with reception. No apologies though .....the receptionist obviously knew the room and was probably embarrassed.

No dinner service - unless you prebooked. The restaurant was quite 'stark' so we may not have used it anyway. There were also a few 'tour groups' staying which did not improve the ambience.

Wir hatten ein Standardzimmer mit Balkon nach hinten heraus. Es war großzügig, absolut ruhig, im Gegensatz zu Balkonzimmern, die nach vorn raus gehen und den Lärm der Straße gerade in den Abendstunden mitbekommen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend, sehr aufmerksam und nie aufdringlich. Das Team machte einen sehr eingespielten Eindruck. Das Frühstück bot alles was man mochte. Auch konnte man sich etwas frisch vom Koch im Frühstücksraum machen lassen. Gegen 16:00 Uhr gab es eine kostenlose Tea Time mit kleinen Küchlein und anderen Leckereien. Ein sehr abwechslungsreiches Abendmenu war das I-Tüpfelchen auf unserem Aufenthalt. Beginnend mit einem großen Vorspeichenbuffet, gab es dann zwei Hauptspeisen , die jeweils aus drei unterschiedlichsten Vorschlägen ausgewählt werden konnten und wie der Nachtisch serviert wurde. Herrliche echt italienische Sachen, über Gemüse, Fisch oder Fleisch. Nix mit Pizza Pasta Bolo . Von unserem Balkon hatten wir den direkten Blick auf den oberen Parkplatz. Dieser ist klein, eng und halt eher für italienische Kleinwagen gemacht. Das Schauspiel der verzweifelten SUV Fahrer war täglich herrlich anzusehen. Beim Mittelklasse Kombi war die Grenze erreicht, größer sollte ein Auto dort nicht sein. Es gibt jedoch 100 m. weiter einen öffentlichen Parkplatz.

Unser Zimmer klein und Aussicht auf Hinterhof.

Ganz besonders war das Personal bei der Reinigung. Ständig wurde überall sauber gemacht. Hier findet man keine Dreiecke. Sogar die Spinnweben wurden ständig entfernt.

Man muss eine ganz steilen Berg hoch zum Eingang des Hotels laufen, aber es ist am Gardasee so und das kann man nicht ändern. Dafür kann das Hotel nichts, aber für Rollstuhlfahrer oder schlecht Laufende ist es nicht so geeignet

Ausgesprochen toller und freundlicher Service aller Mitarbeiter. Sehr gutes Frühstück und auch das abendliche Menü zu einem fairen Preis ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Lage des Hotels ist top und man erreicht die Promenade in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß. Die Zimmer mit direktem Meerblick und Balkon sind sehr zu empfehlen. Vom Balkon aus hat man einen tollen Blick und durch die Größe passen neben einem Tisch und zwei Stühlen auch 2 Sonnenliegen auf den Balkon. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet und werden täglich gesäubert. Zudem werden täglich Getränke in der Minibar nachgefüllt. Rundum wieder ein toller Aufenthalt.

Leider ist die direkt vor dem Hotel verlaufende Hauptstraße ein Störfaktor, der jedoch nicht zu ändern ist. Der Lärmpegel an manchen Tagen ist schon enorm, so dass man nur wenige Augenblicke hat, um Ausblick und Ruhe wirklich zu genießen.

Das Personal an der Bar war nicht aufmerksam und mein Abholspritz, den ich bestellte, bestand aus 90 % Wasser unglaublich. Nie wieder.
