Excellent location! very near to the main bus station and so many restaurants and street cafes. The room and washroom were very clean. The personnel were very friendly and cooperative.
The hotel has no elevator, but the receptionist carried my bags up.
Propre. Endroit
Close to city center

Die Sauberkeit
Not very fancy but a quiet place to recharge in a very nice area of Montreal.
Situation géographique
Matelas de très mauvaise qualité avec ressorts. Très désagréable. Aération dans la chambre impossible à régler. Trop froid dans la chambre par conséquent. Mauvaise isolation Personnel pas accueillant
An excellent location in the heart of old Quebec. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had in an accommodation.
The accommodation is up two flights of stairs and in a pitched roofed room so standing room is limited.
Great location - lots of dining options and cafes around, including fast-food restaurants, and just a few minutes' walk to the Berri UQAM metro station, which is a main transfer point for 3 lines.
The hotel does offer very good coffe and juice all day and night, but there is no breakfast available on the premises.
Location
Bed covers were scratchy.

Location
Bed sheets are not clean, bed have dent, no elevator - have to climb 40 steps of stairs and was place on 4th floor, shower curtain have molds, bath tub is not draining well, carpet is not clean, no AC, room is smelly.
Good location in the quartier latin. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, gare autobus just behind where you can get the 747 to the airport and one station from Champ de Mars et vieux Montréal. There is juice, water and coffee dispenser.,
It could be a lot cleaner
Kein aufzug.
Prima ligging. Goede service.
Beetje gedateerd.
Good location, near the bus terminal. Real TV( no Netflix or other silly stuff) with many channels, including sports channels. Very good coffee maker and...free. Quiet place.
Room carpet is disgustingly awful. Bad odor when I went in the room, I kept the window opened all night long. Overpriced for what you get.
Location.
Some of the staff were not cheerful not helpful no sile on his face very moody and not welcoming.
Posizione
Posizione
Great location.
Centrally located with, bars, restaurants, cafes and night-life at front door. Metro a 2 minute walk.
Aug. 2025 -- Overall, will stay here again! We first considered staying at hostels, but none met our standards. This was a similar experience to a hostel but with private rooms and private bathroom -- - LOCATION- Easy access to the VIA rail station (Gare central) using the subway system. - Located close to the subway station. We were able to buy a cheap weekend pass and get around the city easily. - NO BUGS- The rooms weren't overly clean, but there was no bedbugs or roaches. That was the most important thing. - SAFE- Located in a thriving, but quieter area. We stayed on a weekend in August and we didn't hear much noise in our room at night. We felt very safe, there was always someone at the front desk even though we came back late at night. The area itself feels very safe. - FOOD- There's lots of food options within a one minute walking distance. McDonalds is on the way to the subway, The Big Trouble café had a fantastic big breakfast, there's lots of dinner restaurants, fast food, desert places, Late night snacks. - STAFF- The staff were very friendly and most spoke enough English to get us by. We only had 2 small pillows and 3 towels in our room, the cleaning lady could understand us enough when we asked to give us 2 more small pillows, a bath towel and some face cloths. - There's lots of old buildings and history in the area. It was a short walk to a few beautiful parks.
- Although the room had no bugs, it could have used a more thorough clean. Lots of hair and dirt on the bathroom walls. It was fine, I used baby wipes to clean it all. The plastic shower curtain needs replaced, and the fabric needs a wash. If you have space, pack your own toilet paper. There are no pillow covers on the pillows. Expect to see the stains on the pillows. Usually I'd bring my own, but traveling by train I had limited room. The mattress was thin and uncomfortable, but we were so tired it didn't matter. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed before our stay. We just left our shoes on. I didn't want to make a fuss, being from Ontario. Just make sure to take some wipes and latex gloves with you. The whole city is unhygienic, I had to take a travel pack of lysol wipes everywhere to wipe tables down. Remember-- this is similar to a hostel experience. Take the good with the bad. - Our room (#411) had been freshly smoked in. Burn holes in the carpet and in the sheets, although the sheets had been cleaned. We found a Jean Coutu and bought Febreze. Sprayed the shower curtain, carpets, bedding, left the window wide open the whole time, and the bathroom fan on. There was a small (dirty, but usable) fan that we left on in the room while we were there. Luckily, it wasn't an actual smoking room, so the smell had pretty much left by the time we checked out. The lobby, staircase and halls all smelled fine, someone had just abused the room before us. Quebec in general is a very cigarette- friendly place, we just rolled with it. You end up smelling like smoke everywhere you go anyways. Embrace the culture. - ***Not accessible*** Beware- this hotel has a flight of stairs to enter and 3 floors of stairs and no elevator. I couldn't have stayed here when I was in a wheelchair. No aides in the bathroom, bathroom tubs are very slippery, windows completely open and are child height. #411 was very tight, it wouldn't have accommodated a wheel chair.
The hotel is located in a lively area but as the street is closed to traffic it was a peaceful stay. Short metro ride to ols Montréal and all the sites. Staff friendly and hepful. Free good coffee and refreshing apple juice and water. Though a more simple hotel the bed was very comfortable and facilities were good.
Air conditioning a little weak but was still comfortable even though it was the hottest time of year.
Free refreshment
It gets very hot in summer without AC and proper ventilation.
Price is good and location is a good area. We stayed in room 209 and room was good for the price and was clean. We are using buses to travel between main cities and its close to bus station. After reading reviews we were pleasantly surprised.
good location and the fact that the bathroom was clean
I had several issues during my stay at this hotel. First, there is no elevator, so I had to carry all my belongings and large suitcases up to the fourth floor myself. At night, the hotel door is locked, but there is no keypad or card entry system. One night, I was locked out and had to wait about 30 minutes for someone to arrive and open the door. On my first day and night, the central air conditioning was not working. At first, I thought there was no air conditioning in the hotel. On the second night, it started working, but the room became freezing cold with no way to adjust the temperature, and I was very cold. I also found a single slipper under my bed, which had clearly been left behind. The refrigerator in my room did not work at all. The rooms look like they are from the 1970s and are very outdated. And I encountered a few insects during my stay. Finally, The staffs were never friendly or welcoming at any point during my stay.
Great experience for the price, it should be 3 stars instead of 2
The english of the staff can be improved
I had an enjoyable two night stay at Hotel Quartier Latin. Location was centrally situated to main metro stop and the gare de autocars for easy access to anywhere in the city. The budget single was fairly decent sized, accommodating a full bed, dresser, night stand, table and frig. The room was clean, it showed it's age but from the negative reviews I'd expected worse. The central a/c blasting wasn't an issue for me. My room definitely had been smoked in before with evidence of cigarette burns on curtains but I did not notice any off-putting cigarette smells in the room. My room faced an interior enclosed dungeon so street noise was not an issue and I did not stay over Thurs-Sat nights.
I couldn't really say I did not like my stay here. The gentleman who checked me in wasn't the friendliest but I interrupted his lunch. Other than that, all the staff greeted me with a smile.
The location
I wish the hotel phone could call out of the country.
Was close to bus station.
There was a condom in the corner of the room if they didn't pick that up makes me wonder how well they cleaned everything else.
Good location. Juice and coffee station free, nice front desk and cleaning staff
The room had only one Small window that just pointed to like an area in the middle of the building not to outside directly so since I am claustrophobic, it was very dark and also the room was very small just enough room for the bed, the dresser and the little table beside it with a hallway that goes to the bathroom and the door that was very very tiny so if you or someone just looking to put your stuff there and not sit there at all, you’re fine, but if you’re looking to spend any time in the room and you don’t like this type then it’s not going to be good for you. I did not want to be there at all After sitting in the room for 20 minutes and originally because I had been in town for two weeks I really wanted to just relax have a bath and yes this did not happen however, on my part, I did not do any thorough research into the property And it could be an old building. I just don’t want to penalize them for having such small rooms. Maybe it Accommodates other peoples needs

very very close proximity to nearby clubs, bars all walking distance
could smell nicer in the rooms
We didn't expect much because of the other reviews, and because of the general shabbiness of the carpet and furniture, but the entire experience was surprisingly...pretty good! The location is a busy, tourist oriented street with lots of interesting things, but also loud clubs. The room itself was clean enough, even if the carpet in the hallways looked dirty. The bed was comfortable. Because of the location of our room away from the street- it was quiet. Our room had central AC (that we could not control) that worked well, despite sweltering heat outside and there was plenty of hot water in the shower and great water pressure. Even the refrigerator worked well and the coffee in the lobby was pretty good. We had low expectations, and were pleasantly surprised!
The general appearance is shabby. The carpet is worn to nothing, in fact my partner got a splinter from walking barefoot on the carpet. All the furniture is shabby. The blankets had cigarette burn holes. It would be nice for a couple to get 4 pillows instead of 2. My pillow was worn to nothing and my partner is used to sleeping elevated. When we asked for an extra pillow, they looked, but could not find any. But it was nice that they looked. The room was very small.
Location, comfortable bed, ac.
Shower curtain covered in mold. No hot water or plug for bathtub.
