I have stayed here a number of times over the years, the price is good, proximity to the airport is good but the rooms and chattels are dated, needs a renovation
Pros - close to the airport and very cute ornaments around the hotel. Cons - we booked a room for 4 but settled for 3 on the main floor as there’s no lift and we only used the room to shower before our night flight. There were only 3 towels in the room but the receptionist refused to give us 4.
Good value
Perfect location next to the airport walking distance to a great market
Room was tidy & clean but be aware of mosquitoes and flies. Also, not all the mentioned amenities were provided, we had to request whatever we should have already in room available for use. When I ask them tooth brush and tooth paste he said you need to buy but what it was mentioned in the available amenities ? No hair dryer No toilet roll 1.5/5
Had to change rooms because of smell in first room. Blinds very old and falling apart did not cover full window lettng in light from the street. Staff were very helpful. Comfortable clean beds No elevators.
Close and convenient to the airport.
It was the worst hotel I have seen, Many bugs in the bed, and small spiders in the air, in addition to mosquitos, it was not possible to open the door of the toilet after being closed from inside until a maintenance staff came to break the door lock late at night.
Good place to stay close to the airport.
I only stayed for 10 hours before my flight left but the 10 hours was great. They were friendly, got me into my room quickly and helped me get a taxi from the hotel to the airport. There was coffee in the room as well as bottled water, a kettle and a mini fridge. I would definitely stay again.
Old hotel, not friendly front desk. Mosquitoes lizards in room.
The room a/c doesn’t work properly
Did not like the shower was not attached to the wall had to hold to show with, also milk was not given with coffee and no tea supplied, seemed to be skipping 🤔 on the things people notice, otherwise great room.
Good location. Just 10 minutes taxi from the airport. There is a local bazaar nearby and lots of local food vendors.
Not like is showing on the website…. Expedia should do something about!! I had to book another place and didn’t even got a refund!!
Close to BKK airport 200baht taxi ride including a tip. Large room, slightly softer than the usual Thai bed. Street food 30m and 7eleven just 50m. Carried my bags to the room, ensured air condition was on and working, called taxi for return to airport. Convenient for overnight
Dirty smelly and full of mosquitos also had cockroaches. Staff not helpful we paid for two days and stayed for one would have left the same day just was to late to do so. Would not recommend taking children there at all more like a knocking shop then a hotel
The lack of providing airport transfer service and breakfast cause much inconvenience.
lack of airport transfer and providing of breakfast cause inconvenience
Excellent and friendly
Old run down hotel very hard to find. Located in a small Soi next to street food market.noisy area cats howling in the morning and customers arguing with the ladies at night. Bed OK and clean no toiletries so bring your own. That said it is very cheap and good Street food nearby.
No spa no bus to airport, room wasn’t as advertised no restaurant over all not as advertised on hotels.com . Bed was hard and old not recommended
A hostel at best. We have stayed on several occations, but no more. Never again! To our suprise there were no transportation between hotel and airport. Room on high floor and no elevator. Bed is very hard and rocking from side to side, so unable to sleep. No working aircondition. Only positive thing is that it is close to the airport..., but we are sure there are better options in the same area.
This property will leave a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. The check in staff were grumpy and gave the impression that they didn't want to be there and saw us as an imposition. The room was dated and the bathroom had black mould around the fixtures. The shower was tiny and the water drained towards the door. The wifi was intermittent at best and you only had YouTube available on TV. Definitely NOT recommended.
The toilet is blocked, the shower room water outlet is blocked. The blankets are dirty with cemen and the bed sheet, pillow cases are used. The staff cannot speak Thai or English. They must be a cheap foreign labour from neighbouring countries.
We've stayed at Thong Ta for many years. We continued staying because it was reliable for pickup/transport from the airport. When we arrived at the apt on 2 Mar Thongta informed us they were no longer doing transportation......due to covid. That ended that conversation and relationship with thongta.
What I love about it is that there are lots of street food to choose from around the area. You can take Grab bike to the nearest train station in Lat Krabang. The room is alright, it's big for solo travelers. But the variety of food is unbelievable.
This hotel stay was as bad as it gets. No transfers, restaurant closed, no breakfast/meals, reeked of paint and wood staining. Room full of mosquitos, badly bitten. Only two sachets of coffee in room, l asked for tea they said they didn't have any. Air Con was rusty, old and made such an awful sound. No English speaking channels on very old type TV with terrible reception. Old hard bed. No Spa and why it's in the name is beyond me, it doesn't exist. This hotel is a shambles, you shouldn't send people here, it's not good for Hotels.Com if you really care for your clients. Even 1* is too much for this wreck of a hotel.
Total disillusionment. The hotel is definitely not at 3* level. No elevator. The room smelled unpleasant, ordinary windows that don't leak at all and all the sound from the main street is right in your bed. Maximum one night and run to the airport.
This place is awful. I was looking for a place to stay that was close to the airport. I had a very early departure. First thing I noticed when walking in the door is that there was no air conditioning running. It was a very warm day. Checked in and had found out there was no elevator. Lucky for me my room was only on the second floor. Lugged my suitcases up the stairs and opened my room door and again hot air. Figured out to turn on the ancient air conditioner. The bed was missing the mattress. All that was there was the bed springs made up to look like a mattress. So uncomfortable! The white comforter had stains and what looked like blood. Just gross. Walked into the bathroom and there was no shower curtain. Just the rings that used to have a curtain. I noticed a coffee pot and asked if there was coffee and there wasn’t any. I had checked in late in the day so no time to move to another hotel. Only positive note to this so called “resort” is that it was close to the airport.
I liked nothing. Hot water jug provided. No coffee. Tiny bar of soap. I was on 4th flr. No lift on premise.
This place was a dump. They advertise 24 hour shuttle but made my wife pay for her own taxi to get there. It is old, smells like smoke, the bed was hard. I paid $7 for breakfast that i would not feed to my dog. Stay away from this place.
I like this area easy to find the food at the morning until night time . But far if you want to go to town. Bathroom the water not to strong . Cable box it not working good A/C ok . Room clean.
Wouldn’t suggest anyone’ spend little bit more money and get some other hotel. We left this hotel day early bcuz of poor condition of this hotel
When you promote wifi in the room, then you expect wifi in the room. Safe in the room missing. Remote controls not working. No restaurant. No airport shuttel. Aĺl promoted for.
They say there is an airport shuttle on their website. when you get there they will tell you they don offer that service anymore. They want to charge extra for WiFi in 2021. The room is not clean. There are 5 floors and 0 elevators. not my favorite.
We booked a room with a nice balcony, but got a really bad room with only 3 bulbs working in the sealing, and 8 not working. The tv out of order as well one of the outlets not working. The bathroom a dirty mess
I stayed at the Thong Ta Resort in 2013 and really couldn't say enough good things about it, The hotel grounds and rooms were very well maintained. On this trip it appeared to have digressed slightly. Our room had an excellent A/C unit, the plumbing worked and we managed to get a good night of rest but this is really a cheap accommodation with no frills. The furnishings in the rooms are very out dated, although the room was clean it's not sparkling clean, more like bare minimum and in our hallway there was a foul odor. But for $23 US per night it provided a safe, cool and decent night of rest.
This property was super dirty. It was the first property in 2 months of travel that didn’t offer free WiFi. At breakfast you do not have a choice. Sheets were stained, shower walls and gross. I would not recommend anyone stay here unless you are on a very small budget but even then you can find a better value for your money
I have stayed here many times in the past but this will be my last stay. Barely any WiFi at the front desk and none in the rooms, and I understand that it has even this way for a while. No power to the hot water so cold showers ! Ripped sheets on the bed. The mattress is ready for the trash heap ! It crunches when you sit down, sinks way down where you sit and a wire/spring actually came up through the sheet and poked into my leg !! AC worked well. We had to leave too early to get breakfast, so no comment on the food.
I have stayed here on numerous occasions due to the 4 C's of travel - Cost Comfort Courtesy and Cleanliness, remembering it IS a 2 star resort masquerading as a 4 star. Check in was done efficiently and in a friendly manner. I asked for and was given a downstairs room on the understanding that the room had NO hot water and the room telephone did not work, why I have no idea. As I was only there for one night, come from the bush and have travelled throughout SEA for many years, these minor issues were of no concern. My room was spotless, large and airy. Tea and coffee are provided as was free water. I am a traveller so the TV whilst there did not interest me. Soap and shampoo were provided as were two clean towels, though they were nearing their 'use by' date. I dined as I always do when at the Thong Ta at the food stalls near the main road. The food was fine, fresh and tasty, remembering it is 60baht so I am not expecting a banquet. There is plenty of good quality food outlets in the area and many clean friendly bars, mainly across the road from the hotel. I slept well, got a 'knock on the door' wake up call and caught the free shuttle to the airport, all good. No complaints. Would and will stay there again. Luckily I judge places on my needs, and the cost. Would I have a vacation at Thong Ta, NO, but for one night, no problem. It is what it is 'a cheap overnight place to stay' before catching a flight, bus or train out of BKK Nothing more nothing less.
This property has served me for many many years because of the convenience of the shuttle service from and back to the airport no matter what time you arrive and have to return. If all you need is a place to sleep it does OK. Sometimes the air conditioners don’t work great and they’re loud or dripping water And this time one of the desk was broke and falling off the wall. But they are very quick and efficient even with very very little English.
Was very narrow soi at last kra bang and room is very old and many mosquito
Difficult to get functioning WiFi, almost no TV channels in English & substandard Western breakfast
dirty bed. Animals in bed. So get bite Wait long time in airport for shuttle
Only thing i liked is the price and the free shuttle to the airport. Dirty room and noisy, smelly property
I just stay in this hotel around 4-5 hr for waiting my next fight Them room not cleaning and more mosquito can not sleep good
Very Old Building No soap Old towels etc. Lots of walking to the old building
The Room did not look like the pictures, was not very well kept dead mosquitoes all over the bathroom ceiling and walls. Door knob was missing to the bathroom there was no plug for the TV. And the slot where you put the Room key was defected. Will not be staying again. Orbitz should definitely update the pictures because it does not match . Already contacted and fall the complaint to orbits
Nothing worthwhile in this hotel that impressed me air conditioner not cold
We choose this hotel because it was close to the airport, but not terrible..horrible hotel. Worst hotel ever.. dirty and old mattresses and stained sheets.. it was worst experience ever
I showed up about 8 hours early and they let me changed reservation so I could check in snd sleep
We stayed in this hotel the night before leaving Bkk as it was close to the airport. The free shuttle was a good service. The staff were friendly but limited English. The room was on ground level at the back of the main building. It was clean, comfortable bed for the price I'm not complaining. We have used 3 other hotels in this area for early flights out . I probably wouldn't stay again as I preferred another. Any hotel is a gamble unless it's recommended. I was worried having read some reviews but we didn't have a problem like other guest.
Room is old and small. Bed were so uncomfortable and noisy. Don’t let the pictures fool you. Location is hard to find.
Nice and clean also close market place easy walk out to eat
The rooms are spacious but the bed mattress have been there for 20 years. Hotel close to airport and lots of local vendors. Don't pay for the breakfast because you will get an awful tasting hot dog, a smelly egg with a tasless piece of ham on a piece of lettuce offered with an almost completly sugared orange flavored drink guaranteed to put you in diabetic shock should you be brave enough to chance it. Many of the hotel staff are not local thais which reflects in the hotel service. Room service tried to charge me 3 timesX what I paid at another hotel for 2 times less the clothes I had to wash. I was also asked for pocket change by an employee on the hotel grounds whick kinda bothered me because my sonwas with me. Keep in mind though the spacious rooms, improved internet, and the many great vendors nearby make this a good place to experience local vendors selling Thai dishes.
A cheap hotel next to the airport is all that the Thong Ta Resort has going for it. The free transfer was " not working " when we landed at 13:30 and we had to get a taxi. Its never a resort, just a tightly packed old hotel of three buildings of 5 stories with no lift and some ground floor rooms crammed into a tatty garden down a grubby alleyway off the main road alongside the airport. Room and bed, linen and towels clean enough, some soap and loo paper, ( not to be flushed of course). On site food is a joke. The restaurant staff couldn't care less if you eat or not. Included breakfast was 2 small toasts, spread and jam, miniature cold sausage, cold fried egg, slice of processed ham with orange juice and coffee. No offer of refills or anything else or even a choice. Room service menu was mostly rice and spaghetti, didn't risk it. Seemed to be little else locally except stinking oily fried street food and the 7-11. Old noisy aircons, next door's will keep you awake even if yours is off. Ancient TV, no western channels, and fridge. Fetch your own light bulbs, most will be missing, the guests steal them we were told when we asked for some. None available but there is a torch to use to find your way around at night, ah, battery flat so no night light except the nasty circular fluorescent glaring thing. Its convenient for the airport and not too noisy except for the aircons and for the price it is fair value compared with what else is available nearby. Better to pay for a taxi and stay nearer Bangkok center.
Room poorly maintained/serviced. 2 (of 4) ceiling light bulbs had burned out (and hadn't been replaced). The balcony sliding glass door was completely missing its Door Lock mechanism! In-room phone didn't work; staff had to come to room, notify me of an incoming call ... which required me going to the lobby. Didn't see a swimming pool on the property. Restaurant was closed the entire afternoon & evening we stayed there. On a positive note, staff were pleasant & airport shuttle service ran on time, as scheduled.
No wifi on my floor..had to go to lobby to connect. Phone in room was not connected so couldn't reach front desk. Room was clean but mattress springs poked you.
Easy to go to airport by shutte bus from hotel. Very run down property. Sheets and spread were torn on both beds
Great hotel for overnight stay near the airport, good value, free airport shuttle and plenty of eating options close by include a great street food market at the bottom of the lane
Close to the airport. The air conditioning wasnt operated bery well. The bathroom door knob waa missing hasnt repaired quite awhile i believed.
Good, simple hotel; location was good, check-in was easy; shuttle bus from airport
I am booked with this hotel is 10 nights with my son 11 years old. The room is was clean and good with the price, staff is was friendly, the location is perfect near everything but air condition it's was very older have the water dripping out sometimes. With this happen, there are have to change the room for me 3 times. But everything is perfact. I will come back again
The rooms were horrifying . The sheets were unclean, holes in the walls, strange smells, dirty towels. Checked in and then ran out !!
The only good thing was the proximity to the airport and the free shuttle service. The shuttle was super convenient. Otherwise the building itself is very outdated and everything is really old. We didn’t have a proper door handle on the bathroom and the sheets had massive holes in them. Pictures did not match the room we had.
Do not stay in this hotel if you value your life or the life of your family. This is my second time staying in this hotel. My first time was so-so, but this last time was terrible. Customer service was terrible. The room service folks were arguing loudly for all to hear. Please have your family checked for hepatitis if you stay in this place. Where do I begin: 1) Bed sheets were blood stained (See photo) 2) Chipped and dirty drinking cups (See Photo) 3) Patio Door does not close completely ( Ready for any enterprising burglar) 4) Room phone filthy (See Photo) 5) Bathroom Door extra filthy (See Photo) 6) Remote control filthy
This is a simple hotel at a great price. The free shuttle is convenient. The hotel's condition is a little run down and needs some repairs but the staff are friendly and the rooms are spacious. The best thing about the hotel is the location. In front of the hotel there is a fantastic night market full of delicious street food.
stayed there many times, close to airport. this time the shower had no hot water,we're sorry was the answer. Well, that does not make the water hot Last time locked myself out of the room, they had no spare key. had to break the door, late for the airport.
2km from the airport. Large room. Quick check inn as pre paid. Small breakfast included. Free shuttle to the airport. Only cost me around £20 for 2 so a great price for a stop over, in my case next day down to Phuket. 4th stay here.
Don't look for a sign in the airport that says "Thong Ta Resort & Spa". Look instead for the one that reads "Thongta". Unfortunately, we couldn't find it at first because the staff was leaning against the sign blocking it. We called the hotel and they gave us the staff's mobile number, but he didn't pick up. Had to walk around for 15 minutes asking various people who finally pointed him out to us and then when he walked forward we noticed the sign behind him. He wasn't very polite and then told us "Go over there". Took another 30 minutes after that for the ride, and then we had to guess the ride was there as he simply waved a hand and walked out the door. The hotel driver was very helpful and friendly, though.
Difficult to find by yourself, so take a shuttle bus from airport is the best
Check in was easy and friendly, but the building condition there were no towels I have to ask for there was no hot water , tv and cable not working then I had to request to change the room.
Air Con at rm 112 was defective. It was fixed several times, worked for a short time, only to not work again. By 1 AM, when it was clear that it cannot be fixed, I was transferred to another room, on the 5th floor. i was offered to be helped in taking my luggages, thanks to the hotel helper. But a lot of inconvenience...
I stayed here for one night to catch my flight at Suvarnabhumi airport one day later. The hotel is in a bad condition and not worth the four stars. The room had dirt on the walls and the bed was old and hard. The worst thing however was the breakfast. They give you two toast with mold on it, not healthy. And something like a sausage and egg. Never again that I will choose this hotel.
left key in the room going for breakfast. They did not have spare key, had to break the lock so we could get our stuff, just made our bus going back to airport.
I have stayed in hotels all over the world and I have never stayed in a hotel as filthy as this. There were stains, holes, and hairs in the sheets. Every surface of every piece of furniture, window, anything in the bathroom was covered in filth.
The only rhing I didnt like in this place is the bed. Is not comfortable, woke up having pain all over my body. Staff and the cleanliness of place is the best.
It's a small hotel just 15 mins drive away from Suvarnabhumi airport. The room was in average side but all furnishings were old and torn. Refrigerator and aircon were running noisy. Smell from drainage and toilet. Couldn't expecting much due to the low price then...just stayed there for couple hours for a transit layover. If you looking for a comfort overnight stay, perhaps should try another newer premises.
Cheap and near the airport. In the running for worst bed of the year award!
The room I was given was dirty and smell like sewer water. There was only 1 light working in the room. The AC wasn't blowing cold air. I asked to be changed to another room but was told by the front desk that they didn't have any other room available. I booked a Superior room and got a room in the old run down building instead of the main hotel building.
Cheap and reasonably close to Suvernabhumi international airport. Took about 20 mins to get here. Hotel is reasonably clean and good for overnight stay. It's nothing special but at the cheap price you can't complain. Air conditioner works well as does hot water in shower.
It hasn't changed in 10 years. Travellers get bitten and squash mosquitoes against the walls at night. Then during the day the staff open all doors and let the rooms fill up with mosquitoes again. It is very cheap but depends if you value your health, the management of the place doesn't :)
It is what it is-an overnight hotel for early morning flights out of BKK. Good service on the shuttle and check-in. They helped with minor room problems. AC leaked, duvet in need of replacement (many holes), and smelled a little of Bangkok's sewer system.
Great location, very close to airport with available shuttle service. Also very close to food and other amenities.
Good service but room is out date. WiFi working but super slow.
We were picked up and brought back to airport for my next leg of travel. This hotel was perfect. Just a short ride to Hotel from airport, (Light Traffic). And it was easy getting settled in with prompt service. The hotel restaurant was very convenient. Also, just a short walk were many other restaurants, pubs and a 7-Eleven store to get any needed items for travel. Location, budget, time and functionality is why I choose this Hotel. Remember that I was wanting to stay close to the airport for an affordable price in order to continue on with my travel the next day. The Hotel was aware of this type of traveler and we saw many like us checking in and out.
We have stayed here for many years but this time the room and services were poor. We have had to leave a complaint with the staff as the Manager was not available until night and we left at 9.30am. Many things were not in the room. We paid for a Superior room but it was not up to Standard rooms
There is no room service. They hardly can speak English. We ask for dry chips for kids and they couldn’t understand at all. Kids sleep hungry because they cannot understand English.
Paid £22.60 for one night at Thong Ta Resort, which included airport transfers which normally would be good value. The Airport transfers were fine and it took about 20 minutes to the hotel / airport. The actual hotel looks dated and location is down a darkened street, so is away from any 7/11 or other eateries. Booked a Superior Room, which like the hotel was in need for some modernisation. Plus it was full of mosquitoes which kept me up most of the night. With it being an airport hotel, it was extremely noisy throughout the night as people came and left rooms and often stood in corridors having long conversations. Luckily my stay only lasted about 8 hours before I made my way back to Suvarnabhumi airport. The hotel offers transfers to the airport every half hour. There are better airport hotels with the same area, and unfortunately I will not be making a visit to this one again.
Very close to airport with restaurants, bars, shops and market within close walking distance.
Stayed here with my wife and 10 month old baby. Air conditioning in room was extremely noisy and dripping water onto tiles below by the entrance to the toilet. It was impossible to sleep through and a slip hazard. One member of staff said they would bring a fan to the room but after 1 hour (midnight) I enquired and was told by another member of staff they don't have any. Not recommended as a stopover hotel when in transit.
Our stay albeit for only 5 hours this occasion was uncomplicated!
I guess this was our 10th time we stayed there for one night. close to airport, transfer included. rooms are ok, we had one time a room with no working AC. Close to places to get local food. We will be back in 5-6 weeks.
It’s very unfortunate to leave such a bad review as we’ve always had a good experience with this hotel. It was late and we waited a very long time to get a baby cot all to be told after calling multiple times that it was broken. Only upon insisting and further waiting and finally going down to the front desk did we FINALLY at least get a small mattress for the floor (not quite a rollaway). Also, we were put on the 5th floor in the old building despite requests for the newer side and lower floor. Of course there is no elevator and we have two small children. The air conditioning in the room was set on the coldest setting for 8 hours and still never got cool. Our requests were not heard and the only bonus was the shuttle ride had air conditioning. Next time we’ll be finding another location - any suggestions?
Very convenient to the airport, have stayed here many times. It seems to have gone downhill a bit lately. The last two times we did not have access to WiFi. Beds are clean and comfortable in a stiff kind of way, sometimes the shower is good, sometimes not so good. For the price it is okay, we may look elsewhere next time after at least ten years of staying here each year. We may be getting old for the hard beds and iffy showers, but the WiFi is not negotiable for us.
The room and bathroom condition not good, broken pipes, AC not working well.
its a nice place, free transfer to the airport, nice restaurant and different services available. do not expect an amazing place, this is mainly a one night hotel for people in transfer, but is definitely a nice place if you need to stay near the airport. rooms are clean and spacious, mind there is constant traffic in the corridors due to travelers departing at every hour so can be a bit noisy.
Not a good experience they charge me for early check-in before booking i already told them for early check-in. Room was not clean smelly as well.
