Unique hotel with beautiful furnishings. Stunning gardens with lots of comfortable places to relax. The spa is fantastic addition to the hotel, we had a massage in a double room that was so relaxing. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. The location is superb a great 20 minute walk into Alghero town.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, and was once the home of a duke. Many old features have been kept with some original furnishings from the late 19th century. The grounds are lovely with a good sized pool and access to the sea. Above all I should like to praise the staff for their help. Unfortunately we had to leave a day early because of a death in the family and they went out of their way to help us. We had to leave at 5 am and they had prepared us a breakfast bag each to take with us to the ferry which was most welcome.

It’s not possible to drive right to the front of hotel, though help is available with suitcases. The restaurant served excellent food, though we didn’t realise beforehand that there is no meat at all. On the other hand they recommended other restaurants just a short walk away.

L'emplacement est exceptionnel et le parc magnifique, cependant les chambres et le service ne correspondent pas à un 5 étoiles : la déco est vieillotte, la salle de bain est mal équipée (pas de douche, uniquement un bain), pas de set de toilette dans la chambre uniquement du gel douche et shampooing; par exemple ne cherchez pas de mouchoirs en papiers. La literie est à revoir (vieux matelas à ressort), il n'y a pas de bouteille d'eau à disposition, sauf dans le mini bar, mais elle est payante. Les murs sont mal isolés, on entend parler nos voisins. Le restaurant est vegetarien (ce qui est indiqué nul part sur internet), donc pas de charcuterie au petit déjeuner, qui est plutôt sommaire. J'ai demandé des panecakes, ils n'en font pas. On découvre (pour d'autres clients) à la fin de notre séjour des mets disponibles au petit déjeuner, mais qui n'ont jamais été annoncés (saumon et avocat par ex). Le crépis extérieur serait à refaire aussi. Nous avons dû partir un jour plus tôt (au 6e jour au lieu du 7e jour), aucun geste commercial n'a ete proposé. Au niveau situation c'est un 5 étoiles, au niveau service et chambres, c'est un bon 3 étoiles.

The biggest disappointment was the Wi-Fi. There was virtually no internet connection in our room during our entire two-night stay. We reported the issue several times and were repeatedly told it would be fixed, but nothing changed. The only solution offered was to use the Wi-Fi in the lobby, which is simply not acceptable for a 5-star hotel charging more than €600 per night. The valet parking was another major letdown. When our car was returned after two days, it was covered in sticky pine tree sap because it had been parked underneath a pine tree. This was completely avoidable and showed a lack of care for guests’ property. Guests should also be aware that there is no proper beach in front of the hotel. Access to the sea is via rocks, and swimming can be difficult or impossible when the sea is rough. Finally, the restaurant prices are approximately twice as high as those in Alghero, without offering a noticeably better dining experience.

My husband and I stayed for three nights in late July. Immediately after getting buzzed into the grounds, we were met by an attendant in the parking lot who carried our bags. He was polite and chatty. Checking in was a breeze. We were a bit early, so we enjoyed a complimentary drink while our room was readied. Our room was lovely -old-fashioned, but appropriate for the building. The bathroom had high-end finishes. The common areas of the hotel include a dining room, bar, sitting room, and a billiards and games room. It's the grounds that are really spectacular, though. One aspect that I found particularly delightful was the robot lawn mower constantly, but silently cutting the grass. The salt water pool overlooks the sea. From the pool, we walked just a few yards down paved paths to snorkel right off the rocks. There's a bath house close to the pool with showers. There are several terraces and balconies (some private). The owners have a giant dog (a Burnese Mountain Dog) available for petting, but there's also a hotel cat named Mickie who loves attention, but doesn't seek it out in case that's not your thing. The included breakfast and the one dinner we ate in the hotel were good, but not knock-your-socks-off. Our room received twice daily cleaning! In the morning as usual and an evening turn down service. The proximity to town was perfect. Maybe it was the sound of the sea, but the hotel was extremely quiet while being a quick walk to town and close to a lively late night club on the beach. We didn't utilize the spa (and the indoor pool was closed for renovation), but another guest said she received the best massage of her entire life there from a therapist named Daniella.

My husband swears there was a bug in a drink when we first arrived, but I wasn't there to see it before the drink was replaced. I don't think there's a systemic issue and they certainly made it right immediately.

The location is outstanding. The hotel is set at a height a few metres above the sea and set back from it with terraces lawns and a nice pool area. It is surrounded by well kept grounds which guests are free to explore. The views are wonderful (the sunset is gorgeous) and the setting is peaceful. It is about ten minutes easy stroll to the old town, restaurants on the sea front and marina. Although the hotel was fully booked, the fairly small number of guests meant it felt very personal. The staff is efficient, discreet, warm and friendly. Our double room with a sea view suited my daughter and me very well with plenty of hanging and storage space for clothes, a double mirror on the wardrobe and a safe. The beautiful bathroom was well-equipped and in a style suited to the age of the hotel. We had dinner at the hotel two or three nights out of our 5 night stay but even when we had been out to dinner, we returned and finished off the evening with dessert and/or cocktails. All-in-all it was a wonderful stay.

The hotel wifi was temporarily glitchy and we were told they were in touch with their providers to get it sorted out. I did find full signal in the restaurant and reception area, so it was not a big problem for me. I would love to return with my husband because I think he would love it but he would need to have good internet or wifi connection.

Binnenzwembad was dicht maar hadden ze niet gecommuniceerd. De gym was plots de hele middag privé. Ontbijt was mager voor de prijs die je betaalt.

Location was great. Close to the action but not too. Old Town is a good walk away and wonderful, but take your car if it's too long for you. Emanuela at the front desk is intelligent, very professional and a STAR! The others that worked at the front desk were also good.

This was to be a 5 star hotel yet the building needed an update with new painting required for prime summer season. How long could it have taken to paint the railing on the dining deck? What could the costs be? The staff at the front desk was exceptional but the servers in the restaurant were below par. Our first experience was lunch when we arrived. Our server forgot the water 2x, the wine list, the glasses of wine once we never received a list, and our second courses. I might have forgotten something too. TERRIBLE first impression since we were sitting outside in the sun for over 2 hours to eat a simple lunch. The location and the building itself says First Class but scratch under the surface and it tells a different story. Emanuela at the desk is a STAR and my complaints were understood and reacted to immediately. The pool people seem to hate their jobs and working with guests. Smiling goes a long way in the hospitality business. Why are there winter coats hanging up on hooks in an area that is used and seen by guests?? SOOO Strange!! The dining room never looked busy any night and I wonder why? Who is the GM? This falls on him/her and ownership. Sorry but you asked multiple times for my review.

Everything, stunning building with beautiful rooms sitting on a cliff top surrounded by wonderful gardens. Really friendly staff and having breakfast in the morning out on the terrace was special. There is also a lovely walk into the old town.

Schon von weiten sieht man dieses Hotel , was auf einer kleinen Landzunge direkt am Meer liegt. Von fast überall schaut man auf das Meer. Zur Altstadt sind es ca. 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Der Charme des Hauses und die freundlichen Mitarbeiter machen es zu etwas besonderen. Frühstücksbüffet mit/in Bedienung, sehr angenehm . Abgeschlossenes Parkareal .

Wir hatten eine Dusche in der Badewanne, das ist nicht sehr angenehm.

Paying for breakfast apart from the eggs , I didn’t pay for alternatives, but being a vegetarian at Villa les tronas it’s not included , the continental was an option .. maids were too noisy at 8 am

Non particolarmente varia nella scelta salata ma molto buona, eccellente la scelta delle torte. Mi è piaciuto molto fare colazione sui tavoli esterni cullata dal rumore del mare.

Il personale dello staff si alterna molto, manca forse una figura di riferimento/supervisione, che potrebbe essere un maitre di sala od un concierge alla reception, ma nel complesso il soggiorno è stato davvero bello e sicuramente tornerò.

Fantastyczne położenie pałacyku, wprost na cyklu z widokiem na morze. Doskonała obsługa, bardzo miła. Sympatyczny basen z bardzo ciepłą wodą, śniadanie z karty, można skomponować śniadanie nie tylko słodkie.

Der bei Regen glatte Weg vom Parkplatz zum Hotel, die Wellnesseinrichtung wird extra verrechnet ( auch nur das Schwimmen im Salzwasserbecken ist in 90 Minuten - Einheiten zu bezahlen), es gibt nur eine Einheitsgröße bei den Bademänteln, Es gibt kein Frühstücksbuffet ( man kann in der Früh nur anhand einer Liste auswählen, was man möchte), wobei das Angebot sehr eingeschränkt ist und bei Weitem nicht einem 5-Sterne Hotel entspricht. Die Einrichtung und das gesamte Hotel sind schon in die Jahre gekommen. Der Putz fällt von den Außenmauern, die Türen sind schmal, es gibt nur einen ganz schmalen Aufzug, den auch das Personal benutzt. Bei der Bestellung des Frühstücks wurde immer etwas vergessen. Man darf auf der Terrasse des eigenen Zimmers zwar rauchen, mir wurde aber erklärt, dass ich keinen Aschenbecher haben kann. Nach 4 Tagen erhielt ich dann doch einen. Die Avocado , die beim Frühstück serviert wurde, war braun und als ich Obst nachbestellen wollte, wurde mir erklärt, dass ich Obst vorher 2x hätte ankreuzen müssen, aber die Kellnerin würde schauen, ob wir noch Obst bekommen könnten. Sehr befremdlich für eine derartige Hotelkategorie. Teilweise entspricht vor allem das jüngere Personal vom Verhalten her nicht dieser Kategorie.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut und das Personal sehr freundlich! Die Lage ist absolut außergewöhnlich, die Gartenanlage ist groß und sehr schön. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind großzügig.

Struttura bellissima, sembra di tornare indietro nel tempo. Ben tenuta, tuttavia per il costo molte cose da migliorare.

Letti molto scomodi, durissimi. Da un 5 stelle mi aspetto quanto meno in topper. Personalmente ho dormito malissimo, e noto da altre recensioni che altre persone hanno evidenziato la stessa cosa. Le camere non sono insonorizzate, si sente veramente tutto. Le porte sono finissime si sentono semplicemente anche solo i passi di chi attraversa il corridoio. Colazione alla carta non mi è piaciuta, se si sceglie questo metodo bisogna essere molto preparati. Ci hanno portato un foglio con delle scelte, la cameriera ha fatto molta confusione, mettendo in imbarazzo anche noi per tutte le volte che le abbiamo fatto notare gli errori (nonostante ci fosse scritto). Frutta assente nonostante la richiesta, yogurt normale anziché AD, succo pera ( che era ananas) di pera avevo chiesto la frutta, le torte non erano per niente buone. Forse la colazione non la riterrei all’altezza di un 5 stelle assolutamente. Consiglierei di rivedere la cosa. Invece cocktail buonissimi.

La struttura è situata in una posizione stupenda a strapiombo sul mare. Anche la spa è molto bella ma ha dei limiti che non ci si aspetterebbe.

1) La spa si trova in uno spazio separato dal resto della struttura; noi siamo stati lì a dicembre, ci hanno detto di scendere in accappatoio e abbiamo rischiato di ammalarci. 2) le stanze non sono insonorizzate e a noi è capitata la sfortuna di avere il vicino che ha tenuto la TV accesa fino alle 2 di notte. Non accettabile da una struttura con 5 stelle. 3) il servizio cortesia è molto dozzinale e minimalista. 4) nelle stanze è compreso solamente un bollitore e non una macchina per caffè.
