The pool and the staff were excellent. Great breakfast. The views!

The terrace restaurant menu was ok only. We stayed for 10 days which was unusual for the hotel, most doing short stay and moving around. Unfortunately the menu did not change which was very disappointing. Explore the cafes in Gaiole and around.

O quarto é muito confortável, a vista é linda, as piscinas e a sauna são excelentes e o staff é muito atencioso!

Pedi um ovo frito no café da manhã e o preço foi de EU 16. Sinceramente, acho que pela categoria do hotel e pelo que já se paga pela estadia, cobrar à parte, e nesse valor, um simples ovo frito é algo que me parece tacanho e depõe contra o próprio hotel.

The tennis court and the gym aren’t in good shape

Wir haben das Castello di Spaltenna im Rahmen eines Wochenendausflugs in die Toskana für zwei Nächte besucht und den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb von Florenz in einer wunderschönen Landschaft und bietet einen herrlichen Blick auf die Hügel der Toskana. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, die Zimmer angenehm und der Infinity-Pool ein wunderbarer Ort, um einfach einmal abzuschalten. Dort kann man problemlos lange liegen bleiben. Sehr empfehlenswert ist auch das Sternerestaurant im Hotel. Wir hatten dort einen wirklich schönen Abend und fanden das Menü hervorragend und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr vernünftig. Die Lage ist ideal, um die schönen Weindörfer der Toskana zu erkunden. Auch Florenz und der Flughafen sind mit dem Auto in etwa einer Stunde gut erreichbar. Insgesamt war es ein sehr angenehmer und erholsamer Aufenthalt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ein Badetuch und Getränkeservice am Pool würde das Erlebnis noch verbessern.

The estate is very beautiful. Nice pool and friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms though and especially the beds were not good. You could hear the neighbors talk and the beds were super hard. It was very old fashioned. Some modern touches would have been nice. Breakfast is ***-level. Food in the casual restaurant overpriced.

It is beautiful, particularly the outdoors pool. The spa is great. The staff was so friendly. Our room, the garden jacuzzi, was beyond expectations.

La struttura gode di una posizione splendida, immersa nella natura del Chianti, con una bellissima vista panoramica. Piscina molto bella e personale estremamente cortese e disponibile. Dopo un problema con la prima camera assegnata, lo staff è intervenuto prontamente e la seconda sistemazione nella dépendance è risultata molto più confortevole e gradevole.

La prima camera assegnata, situata al secondo piano e raggiungibile senza ascensore, era piuttosto vetusta, molto calda e poco luminosa, sia per la limitata luce naturale sia per l’illuminazione artificiale. La colazione è buona, ma migliorabile nella scelta delle marmellate e della frutta. Manca inoltre un vero servizio in prossimità della piscina, per cui è necessario risalire fino al bar/ristorante. Non abbiamo cenato al ristorante; abbiamo provato soltanto un’insalata e dei tagliolini, di buon livello ma non eccellente.

Un hôtel plein de charme, niché dans un très bel environnement. Une équipe sympathique et attentionnée, pour un séjour que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Un lieu exceptionnel avec beaucoup de charme et des équipements de belles qualités.

Malheureusement, la table de bistrot et les petits déjeuners ne sont absolument pas à la hauteur de la qualité du site, peu de choix, produits industriels pour la plupart. Un détail également ; le cours de tennis doit être impérativement nettoyé.

Amazing view and surroundings, very friendly and helpful staff. I proposed to my girlfriend and the helped me set up the experience perfectly. The rooms are very big and clean the pool amazing and the spa offers 2 saunas a hot tub and a Turkish bath. One of the best hotels I stayed.

Schön renoviertes ehemaliges Kloster mit tollem Innenhof und grandioser Aussicht von der Restaurant Terrasse. Sehr schöner Infinity Pool mit gleicher Aussicht. Zimmer geräumig und hübsch.

Nichts. Außer, dass wir in der ganzen Woche unseres Aufenthaltes keinen Platz im Sterne-Restaurant mehr bekommen haben. Das Hotelmanagement sollte die Hotelgäste bei Buchung darauf hinweisen, dass es kurzfristig de facto nie Plätze gibt, da es auch viele externe Gäste gibt. Das Niveau des normal Restaurants war ok.

Location walking distance to town, amazing pool for summer time and large and comfortable room.

Very tranquil, beautiful place. The infinity pool is very refreshing with an amazing view. The rooms maintain the old feeling of a castle but in a clean manner. Breakfast is very nice. The indoor pool,jacuzzi and spa are great. 5 min walk into the local town with lots of lovely restaurants.

The lunch and dinner menu is quite limited when the Michelin * restaurant is closed. Although the food is very nice.

Beautiful location

Beautiful stay out in the country. Very quiet and peaceful. Amazing view. Free breakfast was great. Staff was fast and attentive. Cappuccino was good. We didn’t eat at the property, based on other reviews we decided to explore and eat in other nearby towns. Lots of parking, the attendant took our luggage up to our room for us which was good because of the stairs. On the way out it was the same thing they got our luggage and brought it to our car for us. The pool was beautiful especially at night. The hotel was clean. It was a beautiful place for our 20th anniversary!

Even though there is a mini split air conditioner in the room, it doesn’t work at all. At breakfast we over heard another couple saying the same thing. We had some mini fans we brought with us to use while touring and thank goodness we had those as a back up otherwise it would have been almost unbearable with zero air movement. I guess it’s assumed there will be a lot of stairs and no lift in an old place like this, we had no idea so the amount of stairs was a little shocking. Thank God we are younger and we were able to manage but I kept thinking of this was someone with a bad knees or a little older they would have a very hard time. Just something to keep in mind.

Its a nice castle with a nice pool and facilities. Surrounded by greenery and nature

Breakfast was below average for a 5 starts hotel.

Almost everything was very good, great staff, perfect breakfast and a excellent room with a terrace.

The food in the bistro is very expensive and diner was not good considering the high price.

Eine aussergewöhnlich geschmackvolle Unterkunft mit kulturellem Stil in herrlicher Umgebung und sehr freundlichem und angenehmen Personal. Ein Platz um Ruhe zu finden und die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Ein Pool trägt zusätzlich zur Entspannung bei.

Auf höchstem Niveau gibt es fast nichts zu verbessern. Das reichhaltigen Frühstücksbuffet war perfekt, mit diesem konnte das übrige Restaurantangebot leider nicht mithalten. Vom Sterne Restaurant hatten wir eine höhere Erwartung.

Très joli lieu historique. Une vue magnifique sur la campagne et une très belle piscine.

Le niveau de service n'est pas aligné avec le potentiel du lieu et le prix. Il manque l'attention aux détails comme par exemple les verres sales des clients qui ne sont pas enlevés autour de la piscine, le petit déjeuner est assez basique, ... dommage car le lieu est magnifique

The property is almost surreal... Nature, vegetation, view, outdoor pool (look and size), lawn, location.... I don't remember ever seeing anything like it..

It's just unbelievable that the property isn't better maintained, everywhere you look everything is a bit worn out.... the parking lot is a disaster and the breakfast is at the level of a 3-star hotel..... I can understand that it's difficult to maintain such a large property, but such a breakfast is incomprehensible..

Breakfast was good but less than expected. The Michelin restaurant is kind of overrated. Excellent pool and garden&landscape.

Lage und Architektur sind wirklich außergewöhnlich – ein historisches Anwesen mit viel Charakter mitten in der toskanischen Hügellandschaft. Der Pool ist schön und gepflegt. Das Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Das Fitnessstudio ist leider nicht nutzbar – die Geräte sind defekt. Für ein Resort dieser Preisklasse inakzeptabel. Gleiches gilt für die Betten: zwei zusammengeschobene Einzelbetten statt eines Doppelbetts sind bei diesem Preisniveau ein klares Minus. Das Restaurant ist hochpreisig, liefert qualitativ jedoch nur Mittelmaß. Fertigtortellini in einem Exklusivresort sind schlicht fehl am Platz.

Castillo Spaltenna is situated on a beautiful spot with amazing views over the Tuscan hills. The hotel and grounds are extremely well kept. The infinity pool is a great place to cool down after a day exploring Tuscany.

There was no service at the pool, but we had to walk up to the reastaurant to order.

It was 16 years since my last stay and I regretted I wasted all these years. The Castello di Spaltanna offers an astounding experience.

It unfortunately does not accept pets, which is what kept me away

The history, design and outdoor area are outstanding

Too many stairs to get to room and bar. The outdoor restaurant area could use some music ( background music ) especially in the evening.

O quarto é gigante, tudo muito limpo r organizado. As demais áreas do castelo são fantásticas! Pretendo voltar, com certeza!

It was absolutely gorgeous! The staff so attentive and friendly. We were within a few miles to some amazing vineyards. The town of Gaiole is very charming.

There was scented diffusers all over the property and in our room. It was too strong smelling but we were able to remove it from the room.

Las instalaciones son perfectas, y la atención del personal destacable.

As good as it gets! Service was top notch and the facility is incredible.

Estava tomando o meu café quando eu fui pegar um suco, já tinham retirado todas as coisas da mesa, antes do horário de terminar e nem ao menos me perguntaram o que eu queria.. bem desagradável e desnecessário..

Lieu absolument fantastique très calme et agréable avec des équipements excellents, très belle chambre, deux superbes piscines et un spa très agréable et compris dans le prix.

Le restaurant est beaucoup trop cher pour ce qui est proposé, de plus les plats sont froids malgré une remarque. Dans ce type d'hébergement cela ne devrait pas se produire

The restaurant serves very mediocre food at double the price. The service also feels unprofessional, as if it’s being run by a group of interns.

Literie en mode été alors qu’il faisait encore frais la nuit (on ne chauffe pas la nuit), la partie chaude du petit-déjeuner pourrait être plus chaude.

Überaus freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal, tolle Lage, wunderschönes Schloss und Gartenanlage, tolle Annehmlichkeiten wie Obst auf dem Zimmer, Poolbillard, Tennis, Inifinitypool, Indoorpool und Spa. Saubere Zimmer und sehr bequeme Betten.

Extrapreise für Eierspeisen, Nicht immer gutes Essen (statt angekündigtem Büffelmozzarella wurde nur normaler Mozzarella serviert). Zu hoher Preis für einen Espresso. Im sehr schönen Spa fehlten im Dampfbad einige Bisazza-Steine. Der Whirlpool hat einen sehr starken Chlorgehalt.

The service was outstanding. We messed up our reservation and didn't account for what we thought was our first night. They handled it and just extended our reservation, making is super simple. The breakfast was awesome as were all of their food and wine. The grounds and amenities like the spa was awesome even though it was cloudy and rained the whole time. Lastly, it was nice and quiet, which we really appreciated.

I can't point to one thing, honestly.

Unfassbar schlechter service im restaurant. Man musste betteln um nachmittags ein Glas Wein zu bekommen. Das wurde dann für 14€ und nicht mal 0,1l unfreundlich auf den Tisch geastellt. Nie mehr diese Service-Wüste

Castello di Spaltenna may rank as the best overall lodging experience of my life. Perched on a hill in Chianti, you pass a towering line of Italian Cypress on final approach to the one-time monastery. The Front desk snaps to attention. A warm welcome to introduce us to the gorgeous, quiet property and then we climbed stone steps to room nine. From room nine, we enjoyed a birds eye view of the perfectly manicured lawns, sparking pool, grapevines and olive trees. A feeing of gratitude and tranquility overcame us. We took three dinners and a lunch in the trattoria on site. The Breakfast included in our stay was sprawling, diverse, and healthy choices dotted the offerings. “Capoucino the asked each morning”? Yes! Moto Grazie. The spa has decent offerings and our massages exceeded expectations. We walked down the hill to Gaiole for a simple lunch and beer. In under an hour you can be in Sienna and not much further is San Giminano. Our departure this morning was bittersweet. If you stay here, I hope you feel as we did

Tudo. O hotel é de uma beleza deslumbrante. O pequeno almoço com bastante variedade e qualidade. Quartos amplos com uma casa de banho grande e com um chuveiro duplo espetacular.

An incredible stay for anyone who wants to disconnect in pure luxury. Pure beauty and a very detailed luxury hotel.
