We had a great stay here. Everything feels really luxurious, the staff were very friendly and we the breakfast and dinner were really good. Spacious room, comfy bed and good shower.

Great helpfull staff, the first night we had a unsolvable problem in our room that they sorted out immediately. They gave us immediately an upgrade , which was a great solution. Lovely breakfast, restaurant with good food. Beautiful surroundings.

Great deco, good location for our needs.

Noise, a constant 'radio/music ' noise in our room from somewhere ( unsure if room nextdoor or below). It went on until midnight and restarted at 6. Which was dismissed by reception maybe just another guest. No hot water in the morning and inattentive waiting staff at breakfast ( 3 times we asked for butter to the same member of staff). We were disappointed and tired on Sunday.

This is a real hidden gem. Friendly welcome from excellent staff, our bikes safely stowed for the night. Room was modern and well presented with everything we needed. Bar and restaurant were also top notch. We’ll be back!

Gavin the driver picked us up on the road down from clay bank- the pick up and drop off service they offer for walkers is great. Dinner was excellent, roast lamb was delicious, staff lovely.

Our room “Woody” was very hot, need all windows open in doing so was very noisy due the noise from the refrigeration units right out side. Breakfast was not the best long wait over 45 minutes and items were either over cooked or under cooked

Absolutely amazing – we’ll definitely be back! What an incredible place! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the whole hotel was spotless. We absolutely loved the modern, stylish design and all the little details that made our stay feel extra special. The food was amazing, the prices were really good, and the location was perfect too! One of the cutest things was that the rooms are named after dogs ! And they truly make your furry family members feel just as welcome as you! Our dog had his own bed, bowls, a toy and even treats – honestly, how adorable is that?! 🐾 And … can we please talk about the “Bloody Hell Bag”?! 😂❤️ What a GENIUS idea! So helpful for women and such a thoughtful little surprise. There were also so many other little surprises and touches throughout our stay that genuinely made us smile. You can really tell that a lot of thought, care and love has gone into this place. It’s not just a hotel – it’s an experience! We'll definitely see you again ! The staff were exceptional. The hotel is beautifully decorated and really clean. The food is delicious and plentiful. Dogs are MORE than welcome. Drink selection is exceptional. Beautiful village setting. Minibus there to pick walkers up. Everything is spot on.

Fantastic location situated close to the North York moors with stunning scenery with the Hotel feeling like it fitted in just right with that. Quiet and unobtrusive with a nice relaxing atmosphere, further complemented with the lovely decor and friendly staff who where very helpful in all aspects but we're not pushy with the service like you get at some places, and my wife and I felt so relaxed and unrushed without the staff dropping a top notch service. The food was also fantastic, and very well presented, with the portions just right. Although we didn't initially book evening dinner prior to arrival, the staff managed to accommodate us with a table during the busy evenings over the weekend, and even though it was busy, thanks to the excellent service, surroundings and atmosphere, it felt more unrushed and relaxing. Thankyou all for our lovely stay.

What a lovely surprise while hiking the Coast to Coast. This hotel was so clean and comfortable; very modern. The food was great. Highly recommend!

Beautifully renovated to a very high standard. Comfortable rooms with high quality facilities and super friendly & helpful staff. We ate in the restaurant, which was excellent and had a quality breakfast the next morning. Highly recommend as great value for money and a lovely place to stay. I will be back next time I take a trip to the North York Moors.

The room was clean comfortable but lacked enough coffee and milk. Having to ask for more. We ate an evening meal which was perfection We were looked after very well at breakfast which was very good

As above milk and coffee or lack of Paid for breakfast on arrival then charged again on departure, I checked my reciept from arrival and then reinbursed. Just hassle i did not need as i had a long drive back to Sussex

Very tiny room with disabled bathroom - sink so small couldn't get a decent wash. Very small double bed No mirror in bedroom which spoilt the fact that there was a Dyson hairdryer as couldn't see to dry my hair Room right next to kitchen extractor fans so very noisy. Also very noisy guest upstairs was walking very heavily on a hard floor at 6.30am on Sunday morning :(

The hotel had been beautifully refurbished and the layout was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

The room was extremely hot and had no air conditioning which made for an uncomfortably hot night even with 2 electric fans. Unfortunately you could only open the windows 6 inches so there was no way to cool the room.

It’s a beautiful building that has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard. Lots of classy touches in the rooms and restaurants with the lovely town of Stokesley nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful especially at reception in every area really. There is plentiful parking on site and it seems a popular place for locals and visitors alike. I would definitely stay here again .

Very helpful and friendly staff. The walkers pickup service was fabulous, quick, clean and prompt. Food was good and their in-house IPA was welcome after a day of walking. Packed lunches offered.

The modernisation is a bit too much to the point that the bedroom felt utilitarian. Good coffee machine but really missed a kettle! No biscuits and no milk unless you fetched from reception. No carpet in the bedroom, which I am sure was easier for staff to clean but added to the lack of warmth about the place. Expensive for what it was. Stayed in better quality accommodation/offer that was better value for money whilst doing coast to coast.

Our first visit since it was refurbished which has been done in a stylish contemporary style. Staff were wonderful. We booked for Sunday lunch with family. Food was excellent.

Fantastic hotel in a lovely location. Friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. We had friends visiting and they were happy to fit them in at breakfast with us. Amazing breakfast too, and I'd recommend trying some of the more interesting options such as the field mushroom as well as the Black Pudding with Duck eggs

Amazing hotel with such a modern and boutiquey vibe! Rooms were spotless and breakfast was fab! The staff were wonderful - especially Caroline. She was so helpful in advising where to go for food and drinks and also provided us a free lift in Stokesley via the hotel shuttle. Our driver was also very friendly and gave us a tour of Stokesley with tips on the best pubs to visit! We could not have been happier with our stay ☺️

The hotel staff are amazing. From the booking, the pick up at the road, the food and the packed lunch, everything was spot on. The room was comfy and had a TV.

After struggling to find a hotel willing to let us stay without booking on line !! , we were delighted with the welcome at Wainstones. This hotel is quirky and rather unusual and the staff and food were first class. we booked an extra night and were sorry to leave.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely village location, and just a short walk from two local pubs. The standard of the decor is very high, blending modern twists with period features. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We ate in the restaurant twice - once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both main courses were excellent, particularly my venison. Breakfast was very tasty, too.

WiFi wasn't great Self-closing doors meant loud banging from early on (6 am on a Sunday morning!) Also, being just off the coast-to-coast route, inconsiderate guests clomping around in walking boots on hardwood floors didn't help with being able to sleep Some problem with the plumbing meant the shower whistled as we bathed We were a little underwhelmed by our starters when having dinner (hot smoked salmon and carpaccio)

Delightful looking property. Interior a mix of Emma Shipley with functional hotel. Lovely and fresh. Great check in. Didnt eat dinner but it looked and smelt wonderful. Our room was quirky loved the dog lamp. Functional, plenty of room. Pitch black. Bed super soft. Great coffee machine. Full Yorkshire breakfast top class including the black pudding. Checkout with bright and attentive receptionist. Great carpark with super landscaping.

The doors banging on closing could be annoying especially in the morning.

We recently visited the Wainstones Hotel for an evening meal and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, David made us feel incredibly welcome and looked after us throughout the evening with friendly and attentive service. The food was excellent, with a great choice of dishes. Highlights included the prawn and crayfish cocktail, venison loin, homemade pie and pasta dishes, all of which were beautifully prepared and delicious. A wonderful dining experience with great food and outstanding service. We would highly recommend and look forward to returning.

We recently attended the first wedding held at the hotel since its refurbishment, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The venue itself is stunning, with so much attention to detail, a beautiful location and the new wedding garden is impressive to say the least. The entire team were exceptional throughout the day. Everyone was friendly, professional, engaging and always present when needed, without ever being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble, and their commitment to making the day special was clear to see. A special mention must go to Claire, the General Manager, whose attention to detail, enthusiasm and energy was outstanding. She genuinely went above and beyond, and her excitement for the occasion shone through every step of the way. We would also like to thank Caz from Reception for all her help in arranging early availability of rooms and of course the housekeeping team for turning the guest rooms around so quickly. Having the rooms ready for overnight guests so promptly was incredibly appreciated and helped the day run seamlessly. Our Bride & Groom had a truly magical wedding day, and that was only possible because of the incredible teamwork and dedication shown by everyone at the hotel. The service was exceptional throughout and exceeded all expectations. As guests we were treated to fabulous canapés, afternoon tea and BBQ - oh my those cakes!!! A huge thank you to everyone involved. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. We would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding venue or special event location. We had a wonderful stay here. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard including very comfortable beds. We also had dinner which was outstanding. I recommend the crudites as a little starter and the Halibut main was excellent. Breakfast was also amazing.

Bed v comfy- had just done two days walking so was perfect. Breakfast was wonderful. Top class kit in room, Dyson dryer, nice bathroom smellies. Nice decor.

Had to wait 10 mins on arrival before receptionist arrived. The hotel needs better sound dampening in rooms. Could hear next door’s bathroom taps, air in pipes and upstairs floors. Did speak to them upon leaving so they are now aware.

A large room, with an extra bed. We were very grateful for the fan in the room as it was very hot in the hotel. We had an excellent meal and it was well priced as were the drinks. The staff were friendly and efficient and the plates for our meal were super hot, which was great. The shower was excellent and for once the water stayed in the shower area. The car park was spacious and the area was quiet We didn't have breakfast, but we enjoyed a coffee and croissant in the cafe. The decor is beyond excellent and everything is new and the decor trendy.

As it was a large room we were surprised at it being a small double bed. A lighter duvet would have been good too as the room was too warm.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It’s located in a very quiet and peaceful area. The hotel was spotless everywhere and everything felt fresh and very well maintained. The interior is modern, stylish and beautifully designed, the hotel has been recently renovated or newly furnished. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the food was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming as well. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish place to stay.

The only small downside was that the windows could only be opened slightly, so it was difficult to properly air the room.

Recently modernised and done exceptionally well. Staff all very friendly. Location good for northern Yorkshire Moors and not too far from the coast either.

Largish hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff couldn't have done more to be helpful. I was picked up on my way to the hotel, wet and tired, The receptionist offered to buy some food for my dog when she finished her shift. My room was large and comfy. A lovely hotel.

Breakfast had a wide choice of buffet. Menu very good, very plentiful, tasted lovely. Served, with efficiency plus a smile and a few words.

Wainstones is a fabulous place to stay, the staff are all super attentive and very kind. The decor was lovely and the location is great too.

Our only comment would be that the bed was too small for us , BUT we do have an enormous bed at home so others may find the bed absolutely fine.
