Hôtel La Licorne & Spa vs Similar Hotels

Multiple reports of rooms being too hot (no AC/ventilation), small or cramped layouts and some outdated bathrooms; comfort uneven across units (annexes/upper floors worse).

Mixed comments: one small cleanliness problem was quickly resolved, but several reviews mention that housekeeping could be improved and that some equipment felt dated.

Consistently praised: central position in the village, beautiful setting and close to local sights — repeatedly described as an exceptional location.

Mostly positive staff interactions (personnel agréable, very friendly at breakfast) though a few guests found reception aloof and some complaints were not satisfactorily handled.

Strong points: restaurant described as incredible/gastronomic and breakfasts often praised, though a few noted issues with temperatures of juices/dairy.

Pool is appreciated but small; spa was a common disappointment with shortages (towels, access) and lack of ventilation/AC affecting perceived amenity quality.

Several guests explicitly called the price too high for the level of service and facilities received; perceived poor value in multiple reviews.
