We stayed at Arcadia on the fourth night of our road trip through France, Switzerland, Italy, and Monaco, and it came as a massive surprise! We were greeted by, we believe, Julia, who was an absolute delight. She offered us an upgrade and gifted our daughter a cuddly toy. The room was amazing, on the 5th floor, overlooking the promenade, the port, and the charter boats. At night, the view was spectacular. It felt like a studio flat, offering a kitchenette with a fridge, a coffee machine, and honestly more than we needed. The beds were ginormous and super comfy, and despite being close to the main roads, the room was very quiet. The restaurant offered plenty of great choices; the food was high‑end and the wine selection was spot on. The swimming pool was clean and inviting. Even though the hotel and pool are right by the promenade, it didn’t feel overlooked by the public. Swimming towels were unlimited and free of charge, which was surprising and unusual. At night, you can go up to the sun-roof to admire the moonrise. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better. You’re just across the road from the lake, less than a 10‑minute walk to the town centre, and about the same to the old town. The Orselina funicular is also around 10 minutes away and takes you up to Madonna del Sasso in another 10 minutes. Breakfast is more than anyone could wish for, plenty of fresh and hot choices, fruit, cheese, pastries, dairy products… you name it! In the morning, we tried to find Julia to thank her for such a lovely welcome, but we just missed her , so here we are, hoping she will see this. KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING, because you are absolutely AMAZING at your job! Thank you!

The car park was a bit of a kafuffle. We knew before arriving that we might have an issue with the underground parking because our car has low suspension. What we didn’t realise was that the car park has: 1) a very steep ramp with a speed hump halfway down, and 'doorstep' and 2) angled parking bays instead of flat spaces , much more suitable for SUVs. The moment we drove down, we started scratching our heads thinking, *HOW THE HELL ARE WE GETTING OUT OF HERE TOMORROW?* We didn’t even manage to park in our designated space because the exhaust started catching on the ramp before we could drive up to the right level. So we dumped the car and decided it was “tomorrow’s problem.” Thankfully, the next morning, with a lot of *to the left, to the right, to the left, to the right* manoeuvring, we managed to get out with the bumper still attached to the car. So… to sum up: GREAT PLACE, go and stay! But if you’re arriving in a sports car or anything with low suspension, park elsewhere. The hotel staff will advise you, as they do have a substitute car park available, we just didn’t ask in time.

Nettes Personal

Uns wurde versichert, dass wir beim Hotel parkieren können. Allerdings waren alle Parkplätze bereits belegt. Wir wurden dann in ein nahegelegenes Parking verwiesen. Damit wir nicht die Tagespauschale von CHF 51 bezahlen müssen, erhielten wir vom Hotel einen Voucher für CHF 19. Damit wir von diesem aber profitieren konnten, mussten wir eigenständig im Büro des Parkings (das zeitgleich das Büro von Europcar ist) vorbei gehen und das Ticket bezahlen. Das Büro hat am Samstag jedoch nur vormittags 2h und nachmittags 2h geöffnet. Dadurch mussten wir unseren Tagesplan anpassen, damit wir nicht den vollen Betrag fürs Parking bezahlen müssen. Weil zeitgleich noch zwei Familien ihre Mietautos abholen wollten, verloren wir 1h durchs Warten. Das Hotel war überhaupt nicht unterstützend und es war sehr mühsam, dass man als Gast alleine gelassen wird. Daher ist das Hotel für mich zukünftig keine Option mehr.

The staff was good but there was a female manager who was very rude and shouting on me and when I asked her name she refused to tell, the property and the all the other staff and facilities are great, I was downgraded a category to get wifi reception, I have a latest iPhone and a latest laptop which works perfect everywhere, but this manager told me the problem is with my equipment and the wifi signal strength is great. She was literally yelling this to me and when I requested her not shout please she said that’s my tone

Schönes grosses Zimmer mit Seeblick. Sehr feines Frühstück mit sehr grosser Auswahl.

Uns wurde ein Ubrade auf eine Suite mit Seesicht geschenkt (HERZLICHEN DANK). Frühstück einfach super. Die Lage sehr schön.

Schönes Hotel direkt nahe am See mit schöner Aussicht auf den Lago Maggiore. Eine Klima wenn es draußen warm ist.

Das Aussengerät für die Klima ist auf der Terrasse was recht Lärm macht.

Locatie is top! Heel vriendelijk personeel. We kregen een mooie upgrade van de kamer

Die Zimmer, der Balkon und natürlich die Aussicht auf den See war wunderschön. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, aber nichts aussergewöhnliches, als es sonst auch in anderen Hotels ist. Ein Prosecco am Morgen wäre natürlich ein Plus.

es ist ein raucher Hotel, auf jedem Balkon und sogar beim Frühstück wird geraucht, sollte in der heutigen Zeit nicht mehr sein! wir mussten Zimmer wechseln, weil es nach kaltem Rauch gerochen hat, wohl auch im Zimmer geraucht, schande Raucher! Pool klein und so nach dem Moto, man hat einen wir waren für eine Nacht, am Morgen leider kein warm Wasser

Our stay was absolutely fantastic. We came with two children, a two year old and a 4 month old, and naturally try to book something were all basics are covered. In Hotel Arcadia we were pleaseantly surprised: the rooms were really generous with size, which meant our little one had enough space to play around. The management was quick to offer solutions for our little ones sleeping arrangements. And during the day, the play room was just great. Whenever we needed it, it was accessible with plenty of toys inside so that the children can stay entertained. Finally, the personnel was just delightful. Any time we asked for anything, they were ready to help. In the restaurant, they accommodated special wishes and always asked what they can do to make our dinner and stay better. We left with a great feeling, which is really great when traveling with two little ones.

Now I'm just being picky, really. One night there was an evening event planned, and the restaurant was not operating normally. We grabbed something from the restaurant close by. Maybe it is also worth mentioning, whike the rooms are quite well isolated, the street is pretty loud, and in the night we could still hear a bit from the outside. For light sleepers might be an issue, it was not at all for us.

unfreundliche Person an der Reception, wurde beleidigt und für dumm verkauft. Dieser Dame fehlt jeglicher Tiefgang und Kompetenz für diesen Job. Extrem dreckige Teppiche, es ist richtig grausig in den Gängen rum zulaufen, im Zimmer kaum besser => siehe Fotos im Anhang, Vieles ist alt und runter gekommen, das Hotel hatte seine Blütezeit vor 30-40 Jahren...Man erkennts bereits am schmutzigen, ungepflegten Eingangsbereich. Fahrradfahrer sind unerwünscht, lieber dreckige Kinderwagen.

Perfektes Ferienhotel. Sehr gerne wieder.

The location. The stuff were kind and upgrade our room. The AC, the room size. The bed was amazing. Big. Fresh bedsheet! It was for sure our best stay in CH. The breakfast was amazing and diversified.

The parking was quite expensive and the lot was a bit tight

I got upgraded which was a nice gesture except that the outside AC unit for the floor was on my balcony meaning I couldn’t sit outside (noise, heat). No blackout curtains.

we were here for the second time. because we really liked it. The view, the staff, absolutely kids friendly, great breakfast, comfy beds!

Die Teppiche im Flur und im Zimmer waren nicht sehr schön und der WC Roller Halter ist zu nahe am wc ist nicht gerade gut gelöst.

Wir waren für einen Zwischenstopp für 3 Tage in Locarno. Wir würden das Hotel jederzeit wieder buchen, wir fanden alles top. Die Lage, das Zimmer, das Frühstück, der Pool, wir waren rundum zufrieden.

Très bon emplacement, un peu bruyant avec la route le soir mais supportable. Super petit déjeuner.

Les chambres mériteraient un petit coup de jeune mais c’était très propre et très fonctionnel.
