Locale, staff and breakfast is included. Access from the far elevator of the train platform closest to the overlook allows easy luggage transport downhill from the station (it is the pink building to the right of the bus stop down the hill). The neighborhood is pedestrian only with some local residents’ vehicles and deliveries by vehicle.

I really dislike having hot comforters as my only covering to sleep. Sheets in addition to the comforter would be a preferable in many hotels!

We had a really great two-night stay at Hotel Federale. The location is excellent, very close to the train station and convenient for exploring Lugano. We also got the Lugano Ticket from the hotel, which allows you to use local public transport and the funicular free of charge. Our room had a slightly unusual shape, as it was located at an angle of the building, but it had everything we needed and was comfortable. The restaurant was wonderful - the food was amazing, and the atmosphere made both breakfast and dinner especially enjoyable. We really appreciated that the chef came out every evening to speak with the guests and personally ask for their feedback. The restaurant staff were fantastic as well, creating such a warm and friendly atmosphere. A very special thank you to Davide Nettuno, who was incredibly helpful and gave us lots of useful information during our stay. We would also like to thank Domenico, who took such great care of us in the restaurant and contributed to our great experience. Overall, a wonderful stay with excellent service, great food, and genuinely welcoming people. We would be very happy to return!

Charmante Ausstattung - meiner Tochter gefiel das rote Bonbon- Kissen mit der Aufschrift ‚Buona notte‘ so gut dass sie es am liebsten mitgenommen hätte. Freundliches Personal tolle Lage wenn man mit dem Zug anreist und trotzdem recht ruhig - wir waren sehr dankbar relativ kurzfristig dort unterzukommen.

The staff is lovely. The outside terrace for meals is cozy and refreshing. The location is great: 10min from the lake, 4 min from stores and restaurants, 2 min from the train station (we never heard the train). It's a perfect place to sleep if you are planning to spend all day outdoors.

The double bed is a fake; it's two single beds next to each other. The bathroom is old school with a bathtub. The air conditioner made more noise than a snoring pig.

Prime location right next to the train station. The staff were extremely hospitable and even helped us with our luggage to and from the station. Everyone was so sweet, and the views were amazing. I would love to come back and explore more of Lugano someday!

駅からのアクセスで、新しくできた北側エレベーターについて、事前にもっと情報があれば長い坂の歩道を下らなくてもよかったかな、と思いました。 ※SBBの職員の方に道順を聞いても、長い坂の方を案内されました。 ※※AIツールでホテルへの行き方を調べると、フニクラ（ケーブルカー）に乗ればよいと間違った案内をするものもあるので、注意が必要です。

Das Personal war sehr herzlich und einladend.

Das Zimmer war etwas veraltet, Bett und Kissen waren nicht sehr bequem für einen guten Schlaf.

Ótima localização, muito perto da estação e também do centro de Lugano, o Hotel Federale disponibiliza alojamento confortável, quarto com varanda sobre a cidade e o lago, bom pequeno-almoço num espaço ao ar livre.

Das Hotel ist perfekt gelegen, nur wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof, dem Stadtzentrum und dem See entfernt und trotzdem sehr ruhig. Unser geräumiges und makellos sauberes Zimmer war sehr komfortabel, und wir haben uns besonders darüber gefreut, dass wir nach dem Hinweis, dass wir mit unserem Whippet Gio reisen, ein grösseres Zimmer erhalten haben. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, mit einer grossen Auswahl an frischen Speisen, sehr gutem Kaffee und ausserordentlich freundlichem Personal.

Der einzige unangenehme Moment war, als ein Auszubildender wegen eines aus unserer Sicht kleinen Fehlers vor den Gästen zurechtgewiesen wurde – dies hätte unserer Meinung nach besser unter vier Augen geklärt werden sollen. Da das Hotel am Hang liegt, kann der Rückweg aus der Stadt für Gäste mit eingeschränkter Mobilität oder schwerem Gepäck etwas anstrengend sein.

Top Lage für ÖV-Benützer, 3 Min. vom Bahnhof bis zum Hotel! Herzlicher Empfang, sehr schönes, ruhiges Zimmer im 4. Stock mit allem Komfort, schönes Bad/WC, Betten von ausgezeichneter Qualität, Mineralwasser als Willkommens-Drink, Kaffee, Tee zur Auswahl. Grosses Frühstückbuffet mit warmen Speisen und Früchten, das wir - dank dem schönen Wetter - im Hotelgarten geniessen konnten! Ein besonderes Lob an das Personal: Ihre Freundlichkeit hat uns beeindruckt, sowohl an der Reception wie am Frühstückbuffet! Herzlichen Dank! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

The breakfast food was excellent and staff extremely friendly. Once we figured out the ramp to/from the train station to/from the hotel it was a beeeze getting around.

Wonderful hotel, so convenient for a brief stay whilst travelling through on the train, and incredible staff like old world hotel service staff. Very peaceful.

Amazing location! Close to train station and Lugano Central, but up high on hill so very quiet and peaceful. Staff were all kind, helpful and always went above & beyond expectations! Delicious meals at breakfast and dinner with the best service always desiring to please their guests.

Federale is the most convenient hotel in Lugano for anyone taking the train. It is a 5-minute walk downhill from the station, provided you take the right station exit. The room is correct 3-star quality, and has airconditioning that functions. The breakfast is standard Swiss style, but served in a pleasant garden in warmer months.

The hotel needs to explain better how to get there from the train station, which is how most guests will come, and which is its strongest feature relative to other Lugano hotels. You need to go to the north end of the platform upon arrival and go down by stairs/elevator, then escalator, following signs for “Citta” until you reach open air and see stairs on the left and a descending ramp on the right. Take the ramp and a minute later you’ll see the hotel building.

La pulizia delle camere. L'efficienza dello staff, la cortesia del personale e l'attenzione per il cliente. La struttura è moderna e la posizione dell'Hotel lo rende perfetto per chi viaggia in Treno. Colazione abbondante e di ottima qualità.

Strano a dirsi per me che sono molto critico, niente.Non ho aspetti negativi da segnalare.

The breakfast was good. Both breakfast and dinner were set outside in the garden. The atmosphere was very pleasant.

The hotel is located beneath the bridge, with a very steep slope from the railway station to the hotel. I suggest the hotel provides golf cars to pick up people from the station to the hotel when they have heavy luggage. Otherwise, they have to take a taxi, which costs 20 CHF for such a small distance.

L'Hôtel jouit d'une position exceptionnelle. Son histoire mérite largement sa réputation. La petite attention en partant avec un Panettone très goûteux.
