We stayed in Deluxe Oceanfront Pool View Room No. 3, which has a huge private pool and an amazing ocean view. But the highlight has to be the staff; they are so incredibly thoughtful! Reviewed May 3, 2026This was excellent!! No place is better than this fabulous place. My friends love this place so much, they said this is the best hotel ever. Thank you Khun Boy for taking care of all of us. With a warm welcome, the staff were very nice and professional in the service.
We stayed at Tolani Kui Buri over Labor Day weekend, and while the views and rooms are great (and pet amenities are excellent), the service was completely unacceptable for a resort at this level.
The hotel constantly ran out of food. On our first night, the restaurant closed at 7:30 PM—ridiculous for a fully booked resort. We were told to use room service, which then closes at 10 PM.
On the second night, we arrived at 6:30 PM and were told 3 out of 4 main dishes were already sold out. How does a full-house hotel fail basic F&B planning this badly?
To make things worse, there was no manager on-site. When they contacted the F&B manager at home, the “solution” was offering us a free massage—completely irrelevant and frankly insulting.
This place takes great care of pets, but not its guests. Poor planning, weak service, and zero ownership from management. Definitely not worth the price.

Reviewed Apr 25, 2026This resort is a great place for relaxation and a perfect hideaway from the busyness of daily life. It is located away from the busy city, surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere, beautiful sea views, and a relaxing beach environment.
The room size is comfortable and well-equipped with all necessary facilities. The room was also very clean and well maintained throughout the stay. Although the resort is pet-friendly, the overall cleanliness was impressive. There were some insects around, which is understandable in a natural environment, but I did not find any fleas or ticks.
What impressed me the most was the service from the staff. All staff members were very attentive, supportive, and caring. They always offered help with sincerity and took care of customers with empathy.
Overall, this is a wonderful place to relax, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful stay with excellent service.

Reviewed Nov 26, 2025I stayed in this place minimum 5 times, starting even before it became a part of Tolani chain. No, I never liked it as much and I am not a masochist. But for me its location was crucial, because it is located about 20 minutes from my fishing guide’s secret fishing spot. And, OK, it was “stayable”, even though their “villas” are the size of a standard room in many hotels. But it is clean, it has gorgeous swimming pool and they did some renovations after the pandemics ended, like putting in new faux-wood panels and installing sensor light mirrors and new wall A/C control units. It was always possible to get reasonably decent food as well after sooner or later I was managing to convey to the kitchen what kind of food I would like to get. And – after figuring out that I am a regular customer – they were always willing to cook for me upon order and to be buying fish, prawns and lobsters at a market for my meals. But main problem of this resort is that it was always unknown what level of service you are going to get every time. Majority of the staff had always been new from one year to the other. Strange - looked with my eyes- because working in this kind of place should be a golden opportunity for local people that they should be clinging to. And for a (normal) hotel it should be good to maintain the staff after making some selection, just training them gradually raising and raising level of service. Here there are couple of faces that keep being around, like House Manager Boyd, but they cannot maintain general level of service. Numerous new reception people year after year look like they left secondary school only yesterday and they are absolutely clueless. One year they had a restaurant manager, which was quite handy in communication with the kitchen. This year they were leaving a young waiter with a minimal English, who was definitely trying his outmost, but number of misunderstandings was up to the ceiling. And, worst of all, the chef in the kitchen every year was new too. And this time the food was very so-so (OK, tastes differ), but there were only 2 options: either everything was pre-cooked well beforehand with chef happily leaving home. So that I had to eat cold food with nobody to ask to reheat it or, for example, to make some fresh and warm sauce. Or – after I complained – the food was cooked on the spot after I arrived for lunch or dinner already, but then I had to wait for hours and hours to get something. So, one evening after “enjoying” 3 hours long dinner consisting of 1 (one) starter and 1 (one) main course I came back to my room, no - excuse me - “villa” I found the blinds being closed (there is no turn-down service, so I was always closing the blinds before going to bed), while room safe-box being open. And quite big part of the money that I kept in this safe-box missing. Whoever did it was actually very cool, they didn’t take all the money, just about 60%, so if they also closed the safe before leaving it is very possible that I wouldn’t even notice the theft. Did they get a signal from the restaurant that I am on the way back to the room finally, so they left without closing it back? Or does the master key every hotel has allows only to open in case safe’s battery is down or guest forgot the password? I will never know. Also, the reaction of the hotel’s management after I informed them right away was very interesting. It was very emotion-free, like I am informing/asking them something very regular: someone stole something from your rooms’ safe? Yeah, OK, we will inform the police, they will look into it. Of course, I am very well aware (and in many hotels there is a note about it in the safe itself): safe-boxes in the rooms are for guests’ “convenience” and whatever they put inside they put on their own risk. But normally it is formulated like this to make sure the guests don’t forget to close a safe-box (I didn’t forget) but not interpreted like invitation to hotel’s personnel to “check” a safe-box in any room and steal whatever valuable they find there. In more than quarter of century of traveling the world I had been in many countries that are notoriously considered to be not safe, I always used safe-boxes in the rooms and nothing bad ever happened anywhere. Not until my stay in Tolani Kui Buri in year 2025. Interesting thing: the hotel hires staff that steals, they give them access to instruments giving them possibility to open a safe-box in any room (obviously, whoever did it didn’t lucky-guessed my password, they just used hotel’s master-key or its copy) and what is the responsibility of the hotel? Their responsibility is zero. They will call the police and “will follow-up” and they “already informed their general manager” who is (always) away. They are busy “following-up” till now I guess. Nobody even bothered to apologize. Sounds like a fair game?

The room need renovation
We have been coming to Tolani Kui Buri since it was the X2 Kui Buri, but this will be our last visit. The new owners have made significant changes and not for the better. All of the good managers have left and the quality of the food has gone downhill.
At breakfast, Tonlani used to have the standard buffet and an ala carte menu included with the breakfast. You could order eggs Benedicts, waffles, pancakes, French toast and Thai dishes. They even had fresh coconuts and mango juice but not anymore. There used to be fresh bread you could slice and toast, but now there is only processed white and wheat sandwich bread. During our stay there was squeeze your own fresh orange juice and there was also pineapple juice. This was discontinued during our stay.
Tried to order a hamburger from room service but they did not have any. How can you run out of hamburgers? So I ordered a Hawaiian pizza as in the past it was good made with fresh Kui Buri pineapple but what I received was terrible. The cheese was rancid and covered everything so I couldn’t see the pineapple. I could taste ketchup instead of a tomato sauce for the base. Didn’t even finish one slice as it was so bad. At dinner had the pork chop which was smothered in cold gravy to hide to poor quality of pork which was very dry.
They advertise happy hour of buy 1 get 1 for cocktails, mock-tails and beer. I tried to order beer but was told it was not included in happy hour even though beer was advertised in happy hour (see photo).
During the rest of our stay, we went to Prachuap Kiri Khan for our meals instead of eating the poor quality of food at Tolani. It is a shame what happened to the quality of the food as the servers and housekeepers are very friendly and helpful. So just like management who left Tolani Kui Buri, we too shall no longer stay at Tolani Kui Buri and instead take our business elsewhere.

Reviewed Feb 16, 2025Architecture looks great
Its a construction site, at least 5-6 villas under repair, the rest completely run down and electricity outlets downright dangerous. Inside no space for clothes, typical case of design without function. Breakfast was soso. Pool looked dirty and tiles falling off
It was nice and quiet. Nice to have our own pool etc
We were served raw chicken one evening, and then freezing cold eggs for breakfast one morning. Considering it’s hard to go anywhere else because of the location, it’s very disappointing for the food to not be of a good standard for a 5 star hotel.
The resort looks good at first but it needs a serious renovation. This resort has not been unkept and is definitely not a 5 star place to stay, maybe 20 years ago but not now. The food was bad. I mean we stay at many places but this was like I want to get out of here.

When we arrived, the staffs are welcome us warmly and also friendly. Unfortunately, during we stayed the public pool is fixing, can’t use and complementary is only free of charge for pet. (1 pet charge 1000 THB/pet). We stayed at pool villa . In room, it looks a bit old and provide full facilities and amenities. Totally room is fine except face basin alignment is not good and there is water stuck in. If raining, some water leaking from the roof near the wall. Equipment for pet, they provide bed, bowls, and some foods only. The pool in villa is not cleaned well and can see that it’s dirty, so we informed hotel but no one come. Breakfast is good and impress especially fresh coconut juice. However, we decide that just one time enough for us.

Reviewed Aug 13, 2022This is a beautiful resort. The grounds and the buildings are gorgeous and generally well-constructed. The staff is very nice and attentive, and the food is really very good. And, unlike other Thai beach resorts, the beach is not plagued by debris swept in by ocean currents, though there was very little use of the beach by resort guests when we were there. This is a pet-friendly hotel (dogs up to 20 kg are currently accepted), and when I called to confirm that dogs are allowed, I was told that there is an additional 1000 baht per night charge for dogs in addition to the room rate: I learned this before I booked so there was no surprise at check-in. The only issues that we had (and, admittedly they are small) involve finishings that need to be updated. Examples: a shower door that wouldn't stay fully closed on its own; a full-length window that wouldn't lock; chipped tiles; bathroom furnishings (eg, sink drains) whose chrome finishes had been rubbed off, leaving the fittings covered in rust.
So, all in all, this is a very good resort that can, with the expenditure of modest sums, be brought back up to 5-star status.

Reviewed Feb 15, 2022I love it here! My humans like to visit on long holiday. We have stayed here when it was X2, and we have return to the Tolani. Every time I return, the staff greet me by name! Yes this is a resort that is friendly for us canines, but we don’t climb on the tables at the restaurant. Matter of fact, I have never seen one of my 4 legged colleagues ever climb on the tables here.
They provide very good service for me and my humans. Upon arrival to the room, there was a new toy, treat, dodo bags, and small pouch of food for me. Speaking of food, they have an outstanding ala carte choices for me. Everything from freshly cook beefsteak, to yummy yogurt. There is also a beautiful beach I can run, swim and play with my humans. And when we are done at the beach, there is shower and hose where my humans can clean me before we return to the room. They also provide special towels just for me and not for my humans to use. They have there own room towels and beach towels to use. The resort even provides a wicker basket for my towels that my humans can carry. There are some pool villas and a main swimming pool, but it is only for human use, but who needs a pool when the beach and sea is at your doorsteps.
I have heard my humans talk about how they like this resort. They said the breakfast menu had many choices on the ala carte menu which supplement the buffet choices. The buffet included many juices including a orange press for freshly made orange juice, grilled pork & sticky rice, cereals, yogurt, salad, boiled rice, shumai/buns and fresh whole coconuts! The ala carte menu was full of english and Thai choices.
For lunch and dinner, there were English and Thai choices including some fresh made flatbread pizza! But they said the highlight was the Seafood Bucket Bomb! This is a Thai version of seafood pot. You can get it with spicy Chili Basil sauce or a Butter Garlic Basil sauce. My human dad can not consume Spicy Thai Chili, so they made this bucket not spicy. My dad said the sauce was perfect. The sauce was very tasty without the excessive heat normally found with Thai chilis and a perfect size for the two of them.
Yes, The Tolani is quite remote, but that is what makes it so special. The beach is secluded, without the crowds or hawkers. The night is quiet and peaceful without the sounds of motorbikes, trucks or loud parties. If you are looking for lively nightlife, go somewhere else. Here you can relax and experience the local area. My humans like to take me for a drive down the back road to Prachuap Khiri Khan. The views on the drive is amazing. You pass through little village, the sweeping bay and a small mountain full of monkeys. If you go to town on Friday or Saturday night you can visit the night market by the red pier.
Overall, I highly recommend The Tolani Resort as a place to go and enjoy some quality time with your humans. I give The Tolani Resort 4 Paws Up!

The rooms, facilities and service is great - dont expect there to be anything else close by (shops, restaurants, etc.), for that you have to drive. You can rent a scooter, or, hire a driver for that.
We stayed for 3 nights which was ideal, staying for longer would make me want to do something more active - but thats my personal taste.
Great stay overall
