Beautifully presented. Detail very good. Stafffriendly and efficient.

La posizione, la struttura e la sala ristorante, bellissima e accogliente. Molto buono il ristorante e il servizio e’ eccellente
Very good, lovely room and staff were very helpful and friendly
The bar next door is very noisy
Good location with easy parking
We had a room with a four poster bed in it. The bed was very very high and only accessed by some highly polished steps . They were very slippery and we found them very difficult to use and impractical to say the least. It spoilt our stay and wouldn’t recommend.
Very good
The cost, family feel and very personal and attentive welcome as well as the wonderful food and genuinely friendly staff.
Cistern issues, which I am sure will be fixed.
Breakfast was outstanding. Room was wonderful
Right in the centre of Pickering, great location
Room was fairly small for the price paid
Room was a lovely size, staff amazing, food excellent
Breakfast was very good, and the room had a bath and shower.
We booked late getting the last room available,so we're on the top floor with no lift, a bit of a problem at our age,but help was available.so much so would have the same room again. Staff were some of the best trained in all areas, and so friendly. Room and all areas of the hotel were clean Food very good Noise even overlooking the road no problem. Parking good Rating exerlent.
Lovely staff, great food and very clean.

The room was beautiful. The hotel itself was lovely with great parking facilities. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We couldn’t get anything to eat at 8:30 pm in the hotel which was disappointing. Breakfast was somewhat disorganised. The toilet in our room didn’t flush properly and the bed was at a slightly funny angle. It was our most expensive stay of a two week trip and it wasn’t the best value for money compared to others.
Excellent location, lovely and clean, staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was beautiful.
Great staff. Comfortable rooms.
Parking a bit cramped, but we sadly had a big vehicle.
Everything. In particular, the location in the centre of the town was ideal, together with the off street parking. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. It's a lovely old hotel with much character. We thought the evening meal menu was traditional but imaginative, with some interesting mixes of flavours which worked well. We also enjoyed the breakfasts with a good choice on the continental buffet, and also the cooked options. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Tiny negative comment - the light over the basin was poor for shaving.
Breakfast was average. Portion size certainly not like a full SCOTTISH breakfast! Bedroom allocated first of all faced south on a really hot day, huge bed on stilts (did not see the point of this at all). I would have struggled to the loo in the middle of the night on the shiny teak like steps. Very high up in the hotel..think hotel should have checked that we were ok with the location of the room from a mobility point of view. The chap that I spoke with on reception very kindly offered us room 14, a hideaway room...absolutely lovely. So much better. Loved our stay there...lovely wee seats at the door..spend few nights out there watching the sun go down. No comparison to first room allocated. Would definately go back to the hotel but would always request a room in the grounds and not part of the hotel.
More fruit or pastries etc at breakfast. There was no cheese either.
What a great walk in decision. Welcomed by Milly. Made to feel at home. Served and cared for by James. A lovely local lad, with an eye for detail. Excellent service so response and he was even willing to chat. Was willing to even talk us into a beautiful desert. Nice all round good place to eat.
A lovely elegant hotel tucked away in the centre of the town. Bustling and busy but with excellent staff who took time out to make you feel welcome
Our first visit to the White Swan-and definitely not our last: we booked a three night stay and wished it had been longer! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the room ( Vintage) was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Although there was an issue with a main dish on the first night, this was dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily, and aside from this, the food was excellent. The staff were delightful: they were helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome and cared for. We are so pleased to have discovered this lovely place and would not hesitate to to recommend it.

Tiny n3gative comment - the light over the basin was poor for shaving.
Lovely old world atmosphere with excellent rooms, and very competant & friendly staff. Rooms / Accomodation were very comfortable and shower work very well. A little pricier than other options, but we enjoyed the stay and may even visit again.
Lovely old hotel, super friendly staff . Great choice on the breakfast menu and evening meal was delicious 😋
Only difficulty was the stairs. My fault when I booked i didn't mention mobility problems. We had a room on the second floor which Honey took us to. She realised we were struggling and found us a room on the 1st floor. There are rooms in the car park.but these were booked
We had stayed in the main hotel earlier in the year, found it, an ideal central base for our interests, so this time we stayed in Hideaway room 14. A minor hiccup on the First evening, once reported, was followed by several apologizes, a offered solution, actioned within minutes and a follow up check, absolutely nothing, was a problem for the management or any of the staff and was done in a polite, pleasant manner. The room was clean, a small fridge to keep the fresh milk chilled for the Tea, Coffee and biscuits, By your outside door table and chairs, on an evening you can watch the sun go down. You will have to make a choice, when using room 14, Do You lay on the chaise long sofa, or Do You lay in the free standing bath to watch the television

Very clean and comfortable. Room well equipped within the bounds of an older building. Staff welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Nothing significant as obviously restricted by the age and layout of the building.
Good location, on site parking, good food and excellent service
Very small bar area so our party of ten could not sit together in this area but fortune was good weather and we sat outside.
Location perfect for amenities, being in the middle of town. Well appointed accommodation in a separate terrace at the back of the main building. We had plenty of storage, good size bedroom and bathroom with separate shower. Room made up every day, increasingly rare these days. Super attentive, friendly and professional staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner.
Sound proofing fell short, eg hearing next door’s television, which I’m sure wasn’t up loud.
Breakfast was excellent lots of choice. Staff were very good anything you needed even bus time tables. I would willingly stay again.
Good location and comfortable, nice staff
They had 3 x Tesla chargers and they didn’t work
Excellent in every aspect. Best pub we have stayed in for a while. Attentive, caring and friendly. Great food.
Everything! Friendly and accommodating staff. Great food. Good location.
Clean, comfortable and great location.
Nothing, all good.
Very nice old style well positioned in the centre ,we were outside rooms as wife couldn't do the stairs
Because of the old style lots of steps inside ,not so good if you are disabled
Excellent breakfast
All fine
We liked everything about the hotel the room the location the staff Parking great 👍
Can't say that ther was anything we didn't like
All the staff were great and always very pleasant and helpful. Food was lovely, couldn’t always manage the large portions. Our rooms, lounge and bedroom, were very spacious nicely decorated and furnished. Must not forget the cleaning staff, they did a fantastic job. This hotel is well located to explore the wonderful county of Yorkshire.
We couldn’t fault anything. Well done to all the staff. We both agree that this is the nicest hotel we have we have stayed in.
The bed and pillows were luxurious and breakfast was amazing.staff professional and friendly.
Mini fridge not working.take out or replace
Very pleasant venue, staff were friendly and helpful, food great. And we had the room with the very high four poster bed which was fun!
Central location, free car park, lovely breakfast, friendly professional and efficient staff. Facilities in room good Bed really comfortable

Everything was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful , the room was brilliant , spacious and clean , nice touch with the robe and slippers . We had breakfast and an evening meal and the food was delicious.🥰
The hotel is lovely we stayed in a hideaway room with our dog. Big room shower and bath plus tea and coffee facilities and a fridge everything u need. The staff are great a special thank u to Millie who was warm and welcoming and helpful. A lovely weekend break.
Everything
It was the people that made our stay exceptional - couldn’t do enough for you. Really kind and considerate.
The White Swan was recommended by friends who had eaten there but not stayed before. We went as two couples to eat and stay over for the night. Everything about our stay was exceptional. Malcolm the manager was fantastic - he was funny, attentive and his customer service was second to none. Especially when he had to get keys to my room as I had cleverly locked myself out and gave him the wrong room number by mistake. We stayed in the new accommodation block and the rooms were fantastic. Beautiful stone floor, immaculate modern bathroom, each room styled slightly differently even though they have the same layout. The facilities were great - fresh milk and cans of water in a fridge, teas/coffees/biscuits, hairdryer, dressing gowns and slippers. We had a voucher for a free drink each too. We were upstairs and had a great view across Pickering. Parking was easy and directly outside the room and we had our own private seating area outside. The food was wonderful - the room is very cosy. I like my food and portion sizes are not an issue! My fish and chips were huge and the fish had beautiful light, crisp batter. The chocolate dessert was delicious too. There were a couple of annoying flies during the meal who decided we had the best food! Breakfast the next morning was very nice and with a large variety of cereals and fruit/nuts with yoghurt as well as the normal cooked food. This was a fantastic stay - I cannot recommend it highly enough, and Malcolm really made it a trip to remember too. One final comment - you must read the A-Z hotel guide left in the room, it is so funny and a great way to ensure you avidly read the whole thing!!
Everything! The style of the property, the bar area, the restaurant and the room, were all superb! Can’t recommend highly enough! The room we had was so nice and a real surprise! Very comfortable and clean. The staff were all very polite and helpful and helped to make our stay perfect!!
Nothing
Food and room first rate. Your staff are wonderful. Holly went out of her way to give us a map and ideas for what we could do in Pickering. On hearing someone collapsed with heatstroke on the train platform, your ? manageress came to our room to check it wasn’t one of us!
Great location, interesting property, excellent food, very friendly staff.
No complaints
The the staff were warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The room was spotless, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had our evening meal and breakfast in the restaurant and we couldn't fault the quality of the food, fantastic. We were visiting the location of Bangers and Cash and this was a perfectly central spot for Thorton-Le-Dale and surrounding areas. Its not often a restaurant is overly-efficient but I would suggest to give people a little breather between courses. We had 3 courses in under an hour. There was no pressure to then leave the table so no rush or pressure, just felt a little whirl-wind, which is shame in a generally relaxed environment.
Superb stay at The White Swan. Room well appointed and as described. Had evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent. Food well presented and super tasty. Above the very young team that managed all aspects of the stay and the evening meal were exceptional.
The staff were incredible. That always makes a place.
Fabulous four poster bed suite great location and excellent staff we had a really warm welcome when we arrived
Na
We love it here, what a beautiful hotel, so charming, food amazing, breakfast fabulous, rooms (vintage) Malcolm, Simon and staff are amazing.. they work so hard...so polite and helpful. Stayed before it has never disappointed...thanks guys x We have booked for New Years Eve.. 4 poster room.....
We had a very enjoyable short break here. The extras provided are thoughtful and most welcome. The level of customer service at the hotel is exceptional, food is excellent and the rooms are cosy and comfortable. Our dog accompanied us and there was ample provision for her comfort too. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the White Swan to anyone seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday modern living.
We went here for lunch, they had an excellent selection of drinks, including a good selection of Yorkshire gins. The food was excellent, lovely fresh crab and the service and welcome were superb from landlords / owners. We fully recommend for food and drinks and we will return next year when we’re here again.
The room was the 4 poster, it was a very comfortable bed (but just remember the distance to the floor when getting out of the bed in the middle of the night)!! You do have a little ladder to get in and out of the bed though. The room was a perfect size. Breakfast was one of the best I have had and the evening meal was just as good, the staff are very friendly and we are looking forward to a revisit very soon .
very small thing the little fridge did not work and we wanted to put fresh milk in for a morning drink.
Lovely friendly, cosy hotel in the heart of Pickering, ideally placed for trips to the beautiful N E Yorkshire coast. Room was great, with quirky 4 poster bed, which was very comfortable, as were the pillows. Super food, both breakfasts and evening menu were delicious!
Terrific location and car park was ample and secure
Nothing to complain about

Everything was fine 👍
location, friendly staff and good food
Quaint little hotel in the heart of Pickering. The room was tastefully decorated with comfy, roomy beds. There was tea/coffee facilities, dressing gowns, a hairdryer and handy fan available. There was ample parking. Staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming.
The menu prices were expensive so we chose not to eat there. The bathroom floor around the skirting boards and sink area were dusty.
Location, comfort, friendly well trained staff. On site parking.
Wasn’t sure that the Chef was just as good as the hotel warranted.

Location in middle of town plenty of parking. Room was very spacious with an unexpected high 4 poster bed with steps to get into. Turned out to be very comfortable and saw lovely sunset from room window. Breakfast was excellent plenty of choice and full english very good especially black pudding. Staff very pleasant.very good hotel.
We had a very enjoyable stay here recently dining in on both nights. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent along with friendly and efficient service. Both Hideaway bedrooms offered everything we all needed and for the room rates the Inn offered little extras that you don't get very often these days - much better than the hotel in York next to the Minster that we had stayed at the previous two nights. We later received a personalised hand-written thank you card from Holly and the team - a lovely touch! Many thanks for this and we will surely visit again next time we travel up North.
Enjoyed all aspects of our stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Food excellent.

Centrally located good parking, friendly helpful staff great breakfast exceptional four poster high bed comfortable!
Nothing to report really - this was a decent stay! No lift - so stairs it is but what to expect for period property like this.
Location and friendly staff
Decoration a little tired in places.
Very nice cosy hotel, excellent food. Lovely rooms, all very clean. Friendly staff. Good location.
Classic old inn, Comfy Clean situated perfectly in Pickering with car parking, It was a very cold weekend but the heating at night was excellent which along with a comfy bed gave us a good sleep
All aspects of the hotel were exceptional from the room to staff friendliness and quality of food.
How a hotel should be - friendly staff, great rooms and superb food We stayed here as part of our tour of North Yorkshire using public transport. From our “post-tour review” it was top of the list, with The Feathers in Helmsley a close second. Pickering is great for a short stay. We got the 840 Coastliner from Whitby, and then travelled to Helmsley on the 28. Both are recommended for their friendly drivers, and amazing views from the bus. The hotel has a snug bar, and a restaurant serving some of the best food we had on our tour. The Eggs Benedict for breakfast are also highly noteworthy. As well as the chef, both Holly and Jessica were amazingly friendly and professional. The hotel is close to the steam railway and Pickering Castle. We’d love to come back!
Value for money
I don't know where to begin! Everything was incredible. The quality of the food was sensational (we had dinner and breakfast), the room was immaculatley clean and tastefully decorated and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming.

Fabulous
Our first visit to Pickering. Booked to celebrate my husbands birthday, the hotel is immaculate, rooms are as described, very cosy and comfortable. Staff go out of their way to welcome you, nothing is too much trouble, great car parking on site too! The restaurant is highly recommended by us, cooked to perfection. Today we received a beautiful thank you card! So thank you to Kathleen & your team. “ keep doing what you are all doing so well, we loved our stay and we shall be back!” Thanks again
Excellent Hotel, Rooms spotless, everything you need. We stayed in the Hideaway room, Room was lovely, they had thought of everything. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman, shown to our room, explained everything. We had a family celebration. Food excellent, staff so friendly and efficient. Highly delighted. Breakfast was excellent.
Sehr nettes Personal, ausgezeichnete Lage Wir haben im Annex gewohnt und uns sehe wohl gefühlt. Der Zimmerservice war excellent Idealer Spotum dieMoorszuerkunden. .
central to Pickering, plenty of room in the carpark At reception, a lovely lady who explained everything, took us up to our room, a huge four poster bed 1 meter off the ground. slept like a log never heard a noise Breakfast was excellent especially the black pudding.
There was nothing not to like.
A well appointed, friendly and welcoming establishment. The staff are marvellous, professional, responsive, all with great smiles. Our stay was comfortable and easy. I won't put anything rude on Tripadvisor. If you wish to know why, book a stay and enjoy the experience AND read the room notes. They are helpful, provide information, you will not get through them without a chortle.. My recommendation is wholeheartedly made, Thank You All at the White Swan.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. Great selection for breakfast. Very attentive housekeeping. Room spotless.
There is nothing to not like. Would stay again
The variety of the food was excellent and the attention to detail to each persons requirements was also excellent.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
Really impressed with the White Swan. The staff were young, energetic, very charming and extremely competent. Our rooms were great - my daughters loved sharing the four poster bed room. The whole pub and bedrooms had been really thoughtfully decorated and were a delight to spend time in. The menu was excellent - really hard to choose - and all the food lived up to expectations. Great breakfast as well. Pickering is a really interesting and peaceful spot as well with great walks nearby.
Lovely old hotel with lots of character and very helpful staff.
