Sahara Sunset

I am just returned from a lovely holiday in Malaga, Spain, at the Sahara Sunset. Check-in was quick, the staff were wonderful and the location is just perfect. Hotel and pool area is superbly clean. The pools are fantastic, and there are events for both children and adults every day. The hotel supermarket has everything you need and is very reasonably priced! The apartment was great—they thought of everything when we arrived. There were sachets of tea and coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods, cloths and a sponge to clean. There is a large deck with a table and four chairs, plus two big sun loungers. The sofa bed is incredibly comfortable, possibly a king-size, with two extra pillows and two sheets provided. You can rent beach or pool towels for €8 per week or €2 per day. Highly recommend

I just got back from a vacation in Malaga Spain at the Sahara Sunset. The check in was swift, the staff was amazing, the location is perfect! Our two bedroom unit was looking out onto the Mediterranean Sea, with a glimpse of the parking lot. We loved this because parking is tough if you rented a car. The Manager, Alexandra, was truly amazing! She helped plan trips, invited us to a member gathering with champagne, and before our week was over - I felt like we were the best of Friends! I recommend this resort to everyone! Pools are great, daily events are great, restaurant is great and this is all within walking distance to the beach and train station if you choose to use the train. We took a driving day trip to Rhonda which was wonderful! We took a train day trip to Malaga for a walking food tour which was amazing. We then caught the bus to visit two very distinct towns north of Malaga which were amazing as well. This resort is top notch - get a reservation if you can, it will NOT disappoint you!

The lifeguards are way too strict. They are so strict that they dont lett the kids play.

In all my years of holidaying I've never complained or requested a room change until we stayed at the Sahara Sunset. Upon arrival the room we were allocated was absolutely NOTHING like the photos online. I immediately returned to reception to request a room change but was told that this was not possible as no other rooms were available and to try again the next morning. At 9am the following morning I returned to request a room change again and was told again no other rooms were available and they would contact me if one became available. At this point I was quite upset as I felt we'd been mislead and our holiday was ruined. I'd paid almost £5000 for a family of 5 for 10 days and we were stuck in an apartment across the road from the actual hotel and nowhere near any amenities. In addition there were bars on every window and the balcony was facing the street where everyone walking past could see right in. It was also very dark and dingy and views of rubble and a storage area. Eventually after contacting EasyJet we got moved but I had to PAY for a room change out of my own pocket!!! I was told by reception staff that the pictures online are for illustration only and not all rooms are the same so don't be fooled into thinking you're staying somewhere that looks like the photos. I was also told that I should have requested an upper floor as all ground floor apartments have bars on all of the windows and made to feel like it was my fault! Very disappointed and wouldn't NOT recommend this hotel. You can see from the photos below the "lovely" views from the apartment windows!

Great apartment they thought of everything in this hotel on arrival there was sachets of tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods, cloths and sponge to clean, when we arrived we weren’t happy with our apartment view the next morning we asked could we be changed and 2 hours later we got a txt and they moved us to a sea view and Mountain View, apartment was spotless, big balcony with room for table and chairs and 2 big Sun beds, they couldn’t have been nicer and so helpful, lovely pool area and pool bar especially the staff were so lovely and friendly, 2 minutes from the beach so great location, would definitely recommend this hotel we will definitely be back ❤️

Sahara underground would be a better name for this hotel! Be aware this hotel has plenty of rooms that will never see the daylight!

Absolutely love Sahara sunset, staff are fantastic nothing is too much trouble it is right in the middle of everything near to arroya, bus stop right outside pool food was lovely gets better every time I come I booked direct with the hotel this time and really pleased 😌

Rooms okay a little dated, but clean with good facilities , Beds ( cannot leave bed for more than 1 hour at a time) and what's allowed in pool are very strict if you have younger children, service at pool restaurant really bad at times , I couldn't get a takeaway coffee one morning as they were too busy , Lots around the area but a litlle out from Marina about 25 mins walk , so a good walk there and back

Property was well maintained, clean, and proper. Was well situated relatively close to beach as well as to all other amenities. A lot of walking, but good for the heart

Mostly Very Nice Includes a sauna and is a nice short walk to the sea. Area is lovely. Had a nice family holiday. Staff were generally helpful and friendly. Easy enough to get to by train and foot from the airport (~20 minute walk) if you arrive early travelling light on a nice day, (except the directions are only available inside the correct train). Minor annoyances that wouldn't stop me coming again but lose the 5th star The indoor swimming pool requires a swim cap even for people with shaved heads. This is just offensive, (however I don't go to a hotel by the sea because I want to use the swimming pool). Tea and coffee are not refreshed when the room is serviced. (Which seems strange penny pinching, given the quality of the rest of the service). A couple of issues with the bathroom which were surprising considering the general standard. Too few towels, smelly drain needing fan on 24/7 and chrome on light appearing never to have been cleaned. The WiFi is secured and I cannot recommend its use without a travel router. (Maybe on a secondary phone with only messaging apps)

We are sad to say it is our last day but we are so happy we chose to stay here. Everyone from the reception, restaurant, supermarket and cleaners have been so friendly and welcoming. As a family of five with two young boys and a baby there has been something for everyone. The children have loved spending time in the children’s pool, we have eaten at the restaurant twice which was lovely and the supermarket had everything we needed for the apartment. I requested a ground floor apartment and a cot for my little one which we received and on arrival I requested a high chair which they accommodated straight away. There were two evenings of entertainment during our stay and each one was fantastic. We will absolutely be returning and would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Sahara Sunset for making our stay so wonderful.

We were there on vacation in May 2025 and had an amazing stay...the Sahara Sunset proved to be an excellent resort for us due to the location nearby to everything, shopping, restaurants, beach and supermarket. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and provided us with a list of things to do and see in the area along with the various excursions (Ronda, Gibraltar and Tangier, Morocco along with the local flea markets..can't wait to come again! The view from our resort room was nothing nothing but spectacular.

We unfortunately had two poorly children on our holiday (nothing to do with resort). The front desk were quick at signposting us to the nearest hospitals and asking whether we needed a taxi. The housekeeping staff were incredible. Coming late at night to bring us bedding and helping clean. They even came in and done an extra clean for us and were very thorough. One housekeeper even asked the front desk the next day to ring us to make sure our girls were okay which was lovely. We had a two bed apartment and it was spacious and clean with a big balcony. The only downside was there was no lift and we had a pushchair. Close to everything we needed around us perk zoo and beach within walking distance.

We stayed at the Sahara Sunset for a month and really enjoyed our time here. At check-in the staff were very helpful and personable. They answered all our questions and gave us info about the resort. We stayed in a one bedroom unit. The kitchen had everything we needed. A four burner cooktop and a full size oven. It had a large fridge, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. There was a very good variety of dishes. glasses, pots, utensils etc. There are large screen TV's in the sitting room and the bedroom. Our unit had two balconies. One small one and a large one with a table, chairs, and umbrella. There was also a pull out drying rack on the large deck. The sitting room was a good size and a dining room table with 4 chairs. Housekeeping did a cleaning every three days and changed the towels and tea towels if you wanted. They changed the bed linen every 6 days. There was a small vault in the bedroom. Bathroom had a very large walk-in shower. Didn't think very much of the supplied shower gel/shampoo. You might want to bring your own toiletries. There was no tub in the unit we had. The sitting room also had a pull out bed in the couch and a wardrobe. The no charge wifi was fast and worked well. They also had a service were they would deliver fresh croissants in the morning if you wanted. They have a great little supermarket right in the resort as well. It had a little bit of everything. There is a gym, small library, two large outdoor pools, and a small kids pool. There is also and indoor pool and hot tub. We also saw a large outdoor chess set, mini golf course and petanca. The resort provides a "starter kit" in the unit. There was some tea, coffee, dishwasher and laundry detergent to do until you could get out to shop. All the staff that we interacted with were very personable. The spa was not open while we were there. It is was under renovation for the whole time. This is a family oriented resort and it was nice to see families enjoying themselves. We had no issues with excess noise. It was quite quiet at night and we were able to sleep with our windows open. There is some parking in front of the resort. Certainly not enough for the resort. But we had no trouble parking on the street close to the gate to our block. We were there through Easter (a very busy time) and were still able to find a parking spot. You don't need a car if you stay here and aren't exploring the Costa del Sol. There are supermarkets, shopping, and good restaurants/bars as well as the beach, all within several minutes walk.Would we stay here again? For sure.

Was a great place to go but be careful if you want twin beds. They don't tell you that the one bedroom apartments don't have twin beds. The other small thing was that a young cleaner did not acknowledge us & kept saying that she didn't understand which I doubt is true as most countries learn English as the first Language & a older lady came a couple of days later & didn't have a problem.

I have just returned from a second stay at The Sahara Sunset Hotel and again we had a fantastic stay. We were a party of 3 ladies staying for a weekend. As we arrived at 1.30 pm we thought we'd be a little cheeky and try our luck with an early check in. We were helped by Juan Antonio who told us that our room was not yet available but would take our number and WhatsApp us when 1 was available. We decided to go the hotel restaurant and have some lunch and a drink. About 40 minutes after wed spoken to Juan ,we received a message to say a room was available . We were originally allocated a room across road from the main building with an ocean view but Juan offered us a room in the main building but with no view of the ocean. We happily took it as we weren't going to be spending that much time inside. To our surprise, our room RGNG had a view of the ocean ,it was on the ground floor but was ideal for our needs . It had had a recent renovation and was beautifully cleaned and well decorated. It had everything we needed for our stay. Over all ,all the staff from reception ,to pool/restaurant to cleaning were cheerful helpful and polite ,service top notch and facilities were faultless . We are already talking about return for a week next year . I'd highly recommend staying at the Sahara Sunset .

We arrived at the hotel on Friday 9 May for 3 night. Our group consisted of family and friends who are all respectable, professional women. We had an awful experience at check in where the blonde receptionist asked us if we were there for a celebration. We replied that we were celebrating my daughter’s forthcoming wedding in July. She informed us that she might not let us stay at the hotel as they don’t accept “hen do’s”and we may have to find another hotel. After reluctantly relenting after leaving us waiting at reception for 30 minutes she told us that the hotel staff would be patrolling us and they would call the police if they needed to. We were instructed to read sheets printed with the hotel’s anti social behaviour policy and sign the back in front of other guests. Our first day was ruined by her attitude at check in and we felt upset and humiliated. We were treated like criminals. We enjoyed our stay and we were perfectly behaved. However, will never return and would not recommend booking this hotel

At the hotel there was a nice restaurant named Kasbah. All waiters were good but one was really perfect. His name was Raoul and he always helped when needed. He also makes funny jokes. Conclusion: Raoul is a amazing waiter at a amazing restaurant at a amazing hotel. FIVE STARS from me.

The room was clean and the kitchen and bathroom were up to date. With new appliances in the kitchen and a glass shower and heated towel rack in the bathroom. Pools were beautiful. Location was central to restaurants, beach and parks. The staff were quick to respond to any questions or needs we had.

Lovely, large apartment with excellent facilities. We only stayed one night but it was an excellent stay. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. It would be a great choice for a longer stay .

Trevliga fräscha lägenheter i fin standard med sköna sängar. Stor och rejäl balkong/terrass. Affär i samma komplex. Bra pooler och härligt läge nära havet. Då vi var där i mitten av april var det lugnt och tyst och vi blev ej störda av grannar.

Utsikten från just vår lägenhet på första våningen var väl inte så fantastiskt men spelade egentligen ingen roll i det hela.

All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Both at the reception as well as at the restaurant. The aprtment was great - spacious and well quipped. The location was great too - close to other bars and resteraunts.

Minor things - the sun beds were quite wet after heavy rain and we wondered whether they could have been packed away. It was a bit dusty round the pool.

The property is with really on a very good location, only a steps away from the beach, promenade, restaurants but not noisy at all. It is well equipped with everything necessary. The apartment is clean, beds are very comfortable with clean sheets. There are enough free parking places around the hotel. Unfortunately we stayed only one night and couldn’t see the pools and try the breakfast.

The only thing that disappointed us that second/ sofa bed was not prepared. We booked for 4 person. The explanation was that preliminary request should be provided, which makes non-sense. Reservation was confirmed for 4 people, but only one bed was prepared.

Stayed here for a week at easter, family of 5 in a 2 bed apartment first floor overlooking the main pool. Fantastic location, just 2 minutes to the promenade and loads of bars and restaurants around. Spotless clean, friendly staff. Food is good. Pool is small and was cold in April but there's an indoor pool and jacuzzi. No floats or messing in the pools and lifeguards enforced this. If you are on the first or second floor you have no direct access to the resort, you have to go outside on the path and walk around to a gate and enter that way. Ground floor apartment has access to both which would suit better but then you're overlooked by bar and pool area. Overall a great resort and I would come back again

Reception smell live heaven, professional and nice receptionists were very helpful with any questions. Apartment we had was located in Royal Gardens and was amazing. Spacious, comfortable bed, kitchen with everything you need.

TODO, el personal es fantástico!!!, para familias es ideal, nos alojamos 2 adultos y 3 niños ; esta a 2 minutos de la playa,con piscina normal y piscina climatizada (los niños disfrutaron de lo lindo) cuenta con restaurante,gimnasio,lavandería,supermercado, todo del propio hotel y a precios accesibles.En el paseo hay tiendas de souvenirs y restaurantes de todo tipo.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Sunset Sahara who made our stay absolutely delightful. From the pre - check in with Celia to the actual Check in with Stephanie - everything was effortless . The apartments are very well stocked , with a dishwasher , filter coffee machine and all the normal amenities . The beds are absolutely great for a perfect nice sleeps and the pillows are super comfy . The terraces was clean , had new furniture and comfy cushions too. I would highly recommend this hotel. Thank you to the whole team - we will be back .

We stayed at Sahara sunset during the Easter holidays. When we arrived, we had been upgraded to a 2 bed apartment which was so well equipped, clean and spacious. Even a drip coffee machine. The pools were fabulous as was the food in the pool bar. Staff lovely too. Location wise you are 5 mins walk from a beautiful park with amazing playgrounds & only a couple of mins walk to the beach. Lovely restaurants on the beach and this side of benalmadena. About 15-20 min walk into the main town - very easy to get the train to Malaga or a taxi to the beautiful old town. We had a lovely family holiday here - temperatures were around 20degrees & we could lie out & the kids braved the outdoor pools.

The welcome you get on arrival from the reception team is always very good and facilities are excellent and a very good location and I always enjoy my stays in Sahara Sunset

I have nothing that I didn't like

Buvo visa reikiama virtuvės įranga (orkaitė, indaplovė, virdulys ir pan.). Yra atskyras geriamo vandens kranelis. Viduje buvo šildomas baseinas. Tik reikia turėti kepurėlę. Jei neturite ją galima įsigyti registratūroje už 2-3 eur. Taip pat reikia turėti papildomą rankšluostį prie baseino, neštis iš kambario balto, negalima. Jį taip pat galima nebrangiai įsigyti viešbutyje. Viešbutyje yra maisto prekių parduotuvė, restoranas. Restorano maistas puikus, tik tenka ilgokai palaukti. Jei bus proga, būtinai dar grįšime.

Buvome per Velykas, vaikų atostotogas, tai vietos mašinai tekdavo paieškoti.

The Hilton made A big mistake by putting there name on this hotel, never seen a hotel policy check in at 16:00 and out by 10:00 this days you don't get to stay 24 hr, my advice if you are going to visit benalmadena, book your room at med playa.com or pirre vacansse same room much better service and great view, and a way cheaper.

My wife, one year old son and I stayed here for 8 days recently. We extended our stay we loved it so much. Very welcoming and has so many amenities to cover all bases. Staff are phenomenal, special mention to Sofia who was brilliant with our son. Jose and Diego went above and beyond also. Definitely will be back.

Wir konnten nicht über Booking nach Meerblick auswählen. Wir hatten daher leider nur den Blick auf die Minigolfbahn und andere Häuser. (Sehr schattig - Erdgeschoss) Appartement war allerdings klasse !

Wonderful vacation. We had a spacious, clean, well-appointed, fully equipped apartment with 3 balconies. Every morning the enchanting scent of orange blossom from the nearby garden reached the bedroom.The staff is friendly, the impression of high quality.

Pool was too cold during non season, but kids were not allowed to come to jacuzzi to warm up. Could skip this attraction, as towels were paid, but you have to leave them and get back to room wet :)))

This was one of the best apartments I have ever stayed in. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a two bedroomed apartment and it was fully stocked with everything you could ever need. It was better stocked than some 4-5 star hotels I have stayed in. Set slightly back from the main road it was in a perfect location. I had a huge balcony and got the sun from around 10am to sunset - perfect (Royal Palm block). The reception staff are really friendly and the lady on reception even walked me to my room on arrival. It has an indoor pool which was good as a bit chilly for the outdoor pool (some were braver than me and went in the outside one!), a gym and a spa (which was unfortunately closed for a refurb). Has it's own little supermarket which was reasonably priced and a snack bar/restaurant. I would highly recommend and I would come back.

Fantastic resort, excellent location, sparkling clean appartment, very central to shops, restaurants and just across from the beach. Weather was not amazing but we used the indoor pool and jacuzzi which was fabulous. The staff are just wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait to go back, can't recommend this resort enough.

Zameldowanie w piwnicy, - 1, z kratami w oknach. Latem i gdybym przebywała tam więcej byłabym dużo bardziej rozczarowana. Po zameldowaniu można się zgubić i nikt cie nie zaprowadzi bo była jedna osoba na recepcji. Pokoju szukaliśmy 30 minut, z małymi z dziećmi to frustrujące. Teraz byliśmy tam krótko więc piwnica i słaby widok nie stanowiły takiego problemu. Na wypoczynek zadbaj konkretny pokój. Czajnik elektryczny nie działał. Super wielkość apartment ogromny, w kuchni duża lodówka. Telewizor, chyba nawet dwa. Na dużą rodzinę super wielkość.

We waren met een groep van 22 personen en hadden 5 appartementen voor ieder 6 personen. De appartementen waren lekker ruim van opzet, ze waren schoon en leuk gelegen binnen het complex. Alles zag er heel netjes en verzorgd uit. Zo ook het zwembad en de andere voorzieningen. Het horeca-deel bij het zwembad was erg goed en betaalbaar. De ligging was ideaal op nog geen 200 meter van het strand. Alle medewerkers, zonder uitzondering, waren zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kortom, we hadden een uitstekende tijd bij Sahara Sunset.
