Not a lot
Room wasn’t cleaned properly each day. Carpets not cleaned.
Everything is amazing ! Rooms are spotless and unreal. The pool and jacuzzi are amazing and the staff are so so lovely !
The bed was a little hard for me , I suffer with a pain condition so I was tossing & turning all the nights but my partner said he slept well so very much a me problem rather than the bed itself
Nice building, very comfortable
NA
Clean and comfortable. Very good gym for small fee.
Restaurant was very noisy and bright
Location perfect for our needs, great breakfast, room was comfortable and quiet
Stayed 1 night only .A little bit too dark rooms. We been 4 people and in room was 2 towels only .Ordered salats with duck not possible to eat duck was dry(not tasty looking overcooked or old) . Pay for parking separately.
Clean comfortable modern

Fantastic stay, the upgrade on the rooms is amazing!
Great place to stay, we were going to a concert in Liverpool. Bus stop is outside the hotel £2
No complaints at all.
Swimming pool spa and sauna was welcome. There was a good choice at breakfast - cooked breakfast, toast and cereal etc.
Bed a bit high for me
We had excellent help from reception staff when we arrived. There was a wee problem with lighting in the room which the housekeeper, who was very helpful, sorted for us and explained how the light switches work.
Nothing really. everything was good, or better.
Staff, room, bath, breakfast
Great location
First time for my stay staff not friendly talking to each other not helping clients, nothing explained had for find your own way around
Everything staff were so welcoming an the food was delicious 😋
I loved everything
Good
Customers should be told that the hotel is situated on a very busy road. Noisy at night.
Staff are lovely and helpful
The room was very very warm
Nothing.
Getting food poisoning from their filthy kitchen.
The staff, the location , gluten free breakfast. Let us have rugby on one of tv in bar area instead of football. One of the rugby team stopped and had breakfast in our area in the morning. Great location for magic weekend. EV charging very good rate
Disable parking near hotel full of expensive cars with no blue badges . Drivers from them going in to use the gym
The bed…the reception desk staff…the showe in my club room…the friendliness of other guests
I encountered the same lady this time down on the gym reception as last time I stayed and she’s still every bit as rude…I dismissed the first time, because everyone has a bad day…but I’m afraid I just think it’s her…older lady with cheap bleached blonde her and a bit of a hagged face
Looked nice from the front and reception area was nice
Messed up Prosecco extra- told husband (it was a surprise for his birthday and got him to pay for it!!! Had to get ready for a wedding in the gym area with steam and heat. I have a heart condition and was overheating- left for the wedding feeling rubbish. Got back to the hotel and Prosecco wasn’t in our room- the cleaner had it. Stained bedding, shower gel bottle was over the sink and hand wash over the shower so clueless as to what we used!!
Near to family, spacious rooms
Musty smell in bathroom. No extractor fan Toilet too close to bath making it difficult to get in and out of the shower and making the floor wet. Shame that pool facilities were charged & also open to public, would be better to have a set time for residents use only
The room was a very good size and the accessible shower-room was very good.
It is the only hotel where I have had to pay to park. The bedroom was a double but there was only 1 chair. There was nowhere to put our cases other than on the floor - dreadful for disabled people. The shower-room did NOT have a working fan and there were already signs of black mould. The room was very close to the main A41 which was very noisy at night. It was also above the (?) fans from the air-conditioning or some other larger machines which were very noisy all night. The weather was hot, even at night, but the only bedding was a heavy duvet - no blanket or sheet. The pool was NOT accessible - steps that were far too high and a hoist that was broken.
We stayed at the village Wirral over the bank holiday and we had a lovely stay. We booked a club room , which gave us free parking and access to the leisure facilities. Our room was a brilliant size , clean and the bed was massive and really comfortable. We made use of the leisure facilities which were very good , the jacuzzi was nice and hot unlike some hotels we've stayed at previously. Fantastic breakfast in the morning !
The only negative was we found to be expensive . We brought a non alcoholic Guinness and a single Malibu and pineapple and it was £13.90 which we thought was expensive.
Car park charge included in room rate, nice breakfast, comfortable bed, big shower, modern look
location ideal for hospital visit, we enjoyed the leisure facilities swimming pool well kept and all staff very helpful. the room was very clean and well maintained.
we found the bar very expensive and the food in the bar area poor so after the first night we went to another hotel for food and a glass of wine and were pleased with that. the breakfast was reasonable but had better, as we stayed for a few days a wardrobe would have been helpful.

Location
Being moved from sitting in Starbucks to the bar & from the bar back to Starbucks at 10.30 so you could set up for breakfast. Felt like a Ryanair experience as you steered you paying residents to suit your needs. Even though the other aspects of the hotel were fine I wouldn’t stay with you again by choice
Modern and friendly reception staff.
Was woken up at 23:55 as someone had set the fire alarms off.
Location good. Clean rooms. Clean beds and comfy. Friendly staff.
Would have liked decent tea and coffee in room and perhaps some water. For the price I would have expected a bottle or jug of water in the room, especially given the heat.
Good location for where we were going. Very nice comfortable room. Excellent gym and pool area
Breakfast was very poor in my view
Lovely reception staff. Amazing facilities and location. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Clean and comfortable with very good facilities
Fabulous stay, pool great with early morning to late evening access. Pub and grill food excellent too, loved the crispy chips!
Cant fault anything, just I guess slightly confusing lay out of rooms/lifts access
Location was good for me
Bar and eating area very loud.
The sports bar
The bottle bin collection at 5am. The noise outside another morning at 6am
Breakfast was superb location was ok
Would have been better if cash was available and more selection of draught beer
Everything was fine bed comfortable had good sleep
Nice looking property
No air con, food was so so.
Great location only a short drive into Liverpool and the lsle of man ferries. Staff were very friendly and hotel facilities were great
Nothing
It was very spacious everything smelt brand new. Bed was amazing.
The lighting it was very dark couldn’t see in the mirror to put your makeup on. Had to have small mirror sit by the window. Didn’t like the cups 2 sips and drinks gone should have mugs. Everything was so dark.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful
Wish more choice on the TV
Had our wedding the staff were very helpful and cheerful
As there's a gym for the public ..there was too many people coming and going
Facilities were great! Rooms were good. Also was great that everything was nearby like the retail park had everyrhing and it was only about 5min drive but also walking distance.
I think that padel should be included with your stay.
I really liked the bed and shower
Our room included a luxury coffee machine but this didn’t work and also we had no hairdryer as stated
The fact no breakfast or pool included 4 the price we paid, we compared 2 people who stayed same time an they paid cheaper
It was near local amenities and near motorway access
The cleanliness of the room (bathroom) was not up to standard a used plaster was in the bath plug hole from previous customer and no air con
Close to where I needed to be for work
Expensive to stay Very average rooms no better than Travellodge Had to pay for parking Not good value for money Noisy guests despite it being midweek
It’s a very typical business hotel to a good standard with a good breakfast.
I stayed when the weather was very hot and had a south facing room. The room did not have air conditioning but did have a fan which was ineffective. It was hot all night and very difficult to sleep.
The ladies on reception at arrival were amazing....so helpful and kind. they were lovely. Sorry i didn't get their names.
Was just a sleepover for us but looked really clean and all staff lovely
The breakfast was carnage in all honesty. Plates everywhere, definitely need more breakfast staff on
Real nice bed
Mini break 🤗 Excellent stay at a reduced offer on a Sunday deal From use of spa / gym facilities to checking in room spotless with all amenities, great staff all friendly and helpful throughout We ate in the restaurant had Sunday roast which I would highly recommend and few drinks afterwards overall lovely experience would definitely recommend to all my friends & family ☺️ Village hotel Wirral
Nothing all great 👍🏽
Near to transport to get into Liverpool
Too hot in the bedroom
Absolutely blown away by the friendly and helpful staff who made our short break feel extra special. Big shout out to Ruth who went that extra mile to make our stay so special. The facilities available are fantastic with gym and swimming pool all in the price. Plus able to walk to the beautiful village of Port Sunlight.
Very comfortable clean room
Noise from the road
Comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities Good parking
Not enough towels or hanger or storage space. Noisy. Swimming pool wasn't conducive to swimming.
Lovely place as always and the staff are really nice.
Getting a bit greedy with the parking charges.
Great facilities
Bar food wasn’t the best for the price, the fajita bowl needs updating but that’s me being picky
Spacious, clean, excellent service, great facilities (gym, pool, spa area) and excellent location
Only one comment - breakfast was a bit chaotic, staff were very busy (possibly short staffed) and food items ran out quickly. But not a negative and didnt impact our experience
Rooms were nice, beds comfy
Convenient situation for a family visit but what used to be a nice hotel felt more like a community centre. Room was basic and clean but overpriced for what I got
Overpriced and utilitarian
If you have a toddler bring their black out blinds as this hotel feels there are no need for curtains and a postage size stamp blind will do in a room situated across from the car park with 24hour flood lights. For the amount off money this room cost I wasn't happy trying to wedge towels into the gaps of the blind to keep some light out.
The staff are brilliant especially at reception , nothing is to much trouble.
Nothing
Staff lovely upon arrival very welcoming
Quiet Pool area well managed
The location is perfect very close to the retail park and anything you may need.
Staff were great facilities the gym etc was great. The only let down for me was the breakfast. There wasn’t much choose.
We were in room 301. From arrival to departure, the dirty laundry from all the rooms on the floor was not taken away. Not good.
Clean and comfortable room

Prices of drinks and food are far too high.
This is our favourite Village hotel, the location is excellent and the staff are fabulous. This time we would like to thank Nicky and Sally for their welcome and help at check in, and Ruth at the pub and grill for her help with our evening meal. The newly refurbished rooms look really smart and we enjoyed using the leisure facilities too. The food was nice for our evening meal and breakfast. There are some interesting new additions on the pub menu. See you again soon!
Room was comfortable, the swimming etc was very good. Breakfast was of a good quality.
The Bar area was very noisy when we came to have a meal. Perhaps a quiet area would help as the food was spoiled by the noise.
Very disappointed! Booked a room with two double beds - got a room with one double bed. We were unable to change rooms as they were fully booked, and rooms were being renovated. Bath was moldy - complained numerous times - nothing was done. Conditioner was empty, and had to repeatedly ask for more towels as only one was left for two people. Water, coffee and tea were not always replenished. Constant construction noise from 8am renovating below bedrooms. They removed hall carpet towards the club rooms resulting in us having to walk over sticky glue residue to get to our room as this was the only way we could get there. Food was rubbish.
easy check in and lift was excellent with my mobility buggy, check in staff were able to assist when we had an issue with a door card - twice!
Breakfast orange juice was AWFUL! Appeared that too much water had been added to the concentrate.
We used the pool, sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Really nice way to relax in the morning before heading out
Rooms too hot in warmer weather - No Aircon available. provide a tiny fan which did not add any benefit. When the room was booked, we booked a Family room - 1 x double and 2 x single beds. However the Hotel has had a makeover and they no longer do these room types (without notifying us), they only supply 2 x double in the rooms. They failed to tell us this until I queried this after checking in despite me sending a message prior to arrival to ensure we had the correct bed arrangement. The response I got was 'I can pass your message on' which really isn't acceptable when you have a teenage boy and girl both sharing the same bed. Further to this there were only 2 x towels and 2 x cups for hot drinks in the room for 4 to share 🤦♂️
We used to stay here when it was a classy De Vere Hotel, it is now more like a poor travel lodge. Families with unruly, unsupervised children running wild. We were unable to use the pool because of the families who were non-residents at the Hotel made worse by the school holidays. There is no proper restaurant, just a basic bar area that serves very poor food from a very poor bar menu. The rooms had no air-conditioning so were extremely hot with only a small 'desk top' fan. We had booked a four day stay, but our room only had 4 coat hangers and two very small drawers so we had to keep our clothes in our suitcases. This hotel is focused more on the outside membership and walk-in customers than the paying guests. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quality relaxing break.
We didn't have breakfast, it was very expensive
The room was very hot
Pretty busy hotel with lots of families with small children. Our room was unbearably hot (no air conditioning) and with no view whatsoever. The pool was crowded with young children and parts of it was closed due to swimming lessons. Below average breakfast buffet. Parking costs extra. The only plus was a great gym and a decent lounge area where you could watch football and golf.
Plays music stupidly stupidly loud in the swimming pool area. People complaining to each other that they just want to relax. I left with a headache after a day of work and wanting to relax. Music had to been max volume. Pool staff was a guy with a padel t shirt on, and a skin head. Other was a young, probably south-east Asian girl.
It was extremely clean and high end. The rooms were perfect, the bed was so comfy.
The only issue we had was the fan in the room. Due to the extremely hot weather the room was so hot and the fan was very poor. It was a very uncomfortable sleep. I would suggest better fans for the summer time.
Nothing
Having travelled and stayed in hotels extensively for work and leisure this hotel has to be one of the worst I have stayed in. Having arranged an early check in our room wasn't available, and only after agreeing to take a non air conditioned room was one made available 45 minutes late. Upon going to the room we had to follow a maze of corridors and lifts with limited signage and obvious construction work going on. The walkway to the second lift had no flooring and unsecured safety barriers. Upon entering our room we found the mattress topper was too small for the bed, the room had sticky worktops and no glasses (glass or plastic) for bathroom use. Had we not been staying there to attend my sisters offsite wedding I would have demanded my money back and returned home. When we complained to the staff they showed little interest in addressing our concerns and one week on have still not resolved them.
Unkompliziertes Einchecken, Parkplatz am Haus, Personal freundlich.
Vielleicht bedingt durch die Bauarbeiten - aber es hätte sauberer sein können.
Very clean and lovely pool
Room was too hot and stuffy, no air con 😓
Made a mistake of booking the wrong month 32 days before and wouldn't give a refund. So telling me no one else will book that room in 32 days ok They make it look better than it is as full of heavy drinkers and very noisy in the evenings.
We are members of the gym and often go into both Starbucks and the sports bar. The atmosphere is always great, family friendly and relaxed. The service is second to none particularly from Olivia and Ruth in the sports bar.
Good location air conditioned reception
Unfortunately it was an extremely hot weekend 31 degrees. The rooms were not air conditioned, windows only opened a little bit. Our room was unbearable hot we were provided a fan but it was still extremely difficult to sleep in the heat. We had a 2 night stay so we didn’t sleep very well.
Good breakfast and convenient location
Every thing ok
Good sized room, although very little natural light with only a small window. Comfy big bed so a good nights sleep. Location was good for work.
Having used Village Hotels many times over the years, I'm not keen on how they have changed i.e. the weird reception desk and minimal customer service on check in. I booked a Club room (mainly for the air con) but there is nothing special about the club rooms - pretty basic really. The room could have been cleaner - there were some nasty stains on the toilet lid and the surfaces in the room not very clean. The room I was given was a long way from reception through an area which was undergoing refurbishment and the corridors and stair cases to the room were a mess with wet paint signs all over the floor, leaving you wondering which bits of the area were wet! It was all very strange! I also found it really frustrating that after arriving in the evening, I'd asked in reception if they did room service food and was told yes. On arrival at the room, it's really time consuming to find the menu on a screen and was impossible to order. After spending 20 minutes trying to locate a menu and then load an App to order, I gave up and had to go back to the bar. There isn't even a phone in the room to contact reception to ask anything - it's all 'tap the App' to chat with us. Might suit some people but it's not for me when I'm staying at a hotel on business.
Comfortable room. Clean room/bathroom. Modern hotel. Plenty of parking.
Charging for parking despite the hotel information stating it was free.
The staff, especially Sally on reception, nothing to much trouble. She’s an asset to the hotel.
Needs air conditioning in rooms during summer.
Location and staff
We upgraded for an air con room and none available after taking payment which was not good given the extreme weather at the moment. The shower was not great we had. Very small selection of gluten free and vegan food ended up having to book a takeaway.
Lovely staff and atmosphere
Nice food staff bar was Air conditioned and had a lot of large TVs
The building itself looks great from the outside and has 3 or 4 different areas bar and sitting areas
Nice clean room, excellent shower, good breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay.
Air con was struggling but it was very hot outside. Strange stalk like taps difficult to use and water very hot. Had to walk down corridor where building works going on. Didn't spoil our stay though!
Beds, pool, price, staff were helpful, quality of the rooms and hotel.
Terrible communication: no way of contacting reception, room service options didn’t work, no communication about the pool or the parking, very difficult to get to the room (easier to get to Mordor!)
Not one vegan option on the menu. Absolutely disgusting. My work colleague and I, both happen to be vegan and were embarrassed that we were unable to find anything to eat.
Location was good for our needs, easy check in with friendly staff and rooms are fine !
The bar and restaurant area are looking extremely tired now, to the point where one bar stool practically had no material left on it and tables weren’t very clean!
Lovely comfy room and bed, taxi came straight away booked from reception and breakfast was nice!
Comfortable and convenient
Room 501 bathroom was in poor condition
Very welcoming
Nothing
Good choice of food at breakfast and in the evening. Location was great for us getting to and from Liverpool city centre and waterfront with only a short 15 minute walk to the nearest Metro. Staff were very friendly and helpful when needed.
Lack of drawer space for clothes in the rooms and so a lot of our clothes we had to leave in suitcases. No real criticisms otherwise but a few little touches would enhance your guests stays. For example, the rooms were a bit bare and would benefit with some art work of the local attractions. A box of tissues and a toilet brush in the bathroom would have been appreciated as well.
Parking, friendly staff, easy access to IoM ferry the next day
Bedroom far too warm and supplied fan poor.
