Very warming, homely, comfortable and welcoming.

Windows were left open when we entered the room and several spiders were found in the room. We spoke to reception and they said they would happily move them for us next time.

The taps didn’t work on bath only shower worked WiFi wasnt good and branch outside window knocking when it was windy and a drippy tap

The accommodation is clearly very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Sand goes for the restaurant/ pub section which really needs money spending on it. The menu was OK, but the breakfast included with our stay was too limited.

Great food and staff were generally pleasant.

There were 20 of us staying from up in Newcastle area for 2 nights, we all spent a lot of money in the bar, we had went out in Ellesmere port on the Saturday night and booked taxis back at 22-30 so we could get back and have a drink before bed only to be told the bar was closed. Business must be really good if you can afford to turn away 20 people drinking on a Saturday night.

It was close to some good shops and looked like it had some good family facilities.

Our window had a huge bush up against it, so no view. Not enough plug sockets and none by the bed.

Bathroom a bit tired with chipped bath sink and taps that were hard to turn.

Food was ok. Ended up going elsewhere as it took over an hour to get our meal the first night.

Room was ok, very basic, rather dated, needed painting. TV was hopeless, virtually no signal, kept losing signal. Bed was very hard and not at all comfortable. View from window was a skip! Bin lorry picked up bins at 4:30am in the morning making a lot of noise.

Price was absolutely worth it. Very comfy beds, everyone slept well and had plenty of room of a family of 2 adults and 2 younger kids

The hotel car park was spacious. All the hotel staff were very friendly. The reception staff went the exta mile to be helpful. As well as giving directions one of them drew a map from the hotel to Stena Line for our return journey home. Also told us about sites nearby to visit (were as good as any Tourist Office 😀). The 2 bedrooms were bright & spacious, one of which was an accessible room, beside reception & close to the dining area. We had our evening meal there & found the portions ample, tasty & very reasonably priced. The hotel catered very well for families with younger children (plenty to keep them amused).

Very good got what you wanted

It was in a good location for us to visit family. On site parking. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent service from the hotel staff, particularly Sally who went above and beyond to meet our needs.

The public bar area was not kept continuously clean, e.g. tables sticky, coffee machine, unwashed cups. Water from the bathroom in bathroom sink taps only came out at a slow dribble.

The room was comfortable despite the heatwave. I also like the fact that there is still a bath, although using the shower wasn't very easy to manage.

There was a very loud music performance on Monday afternoon. No doubt some people enjoyed it, but the volume seemed somewhat excessive and I could hear it in my room.

The shower got so hot it could scald you,the restaurant was full of flys when we were eating breakfast, the hotel needs updating,we had a lovely sleep until the bin men turned up at 4-45am .

The room was what to expect. Also we were offered a downstairs room by a very obliging member of staff who recognised my wife's was issues.

This is part of a large pub complex on a busy road and was therefore a little noisy.

OMG, where do we start. It was like being back in the 70's. The dirt that met us at the door. Only one towel, one mug in the room. No table, one arm chair. Gardner badly needed all over grown. No uniform on lady at reception. Dressed as if she was going to the gym. A key to open the door no card, It's 2026. Carpets filthy. Badly needs a painting all over. Very cavalier attitude 😒 A huge overhaul needed. Bathroom square tiles, but it was clean. No air conditioning and no lifts but that was advertised. Your pictures are certainly not up to date. We would not recommend it or stay in it again. Not up to our standards. Hotel standards are far superior in Ireland.

The dirt, the filth, furniture in tatters, no attention to detail. Staff very cavalier. Money demanded before food or drink. We should be refunded. Horrible Horrible Horrible 😫 never stayed in such a kip.Should be removed from your website 😕

the food wasn’t good. we ordered fajitas and got mayo when it says with sour cream and the salsa was just tomato sauce. we ordered a kids pasta with the garlic bread and the garlic bread came 10 mins before actual meal and was cold by that point.

The room was large, warm, clean, nice big Samsung TV, bolsters for sitting up in bed. Also nice and quiet, in off the main road so not noisy. Reception staff lovely and friendly, helpful. Nice comfy bed, I slept like the dead.

The place was a bit dated decor wise but that only added to the charm, it was quite lovely and inexpensive, it provided us with what we wanted, a warm bed for the night and a pub/food attached so didn't need to go far to eat (though we went for an AMAZING dinner at the Turkish BBQ & Grill just across the road, few minutes walk, fantastic, highly recommend. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, it felt homely and unpretentious.

Great staff so friendly and always willing to help great value for money and everything is so central lised we just love Bromborough. Met the manager at the Royal Oak JANE what can I say so lovely friendly and bubbly person was a pleasure meeting her also the staff Liam, Hayley, Adiana, Lynn such was,a pleasure meeting the staff again making our trip very pleasurable Thank you sooo much for serving us and we love coming to the Royal Oak because of the staff Thank you Hayley for giving us the best room u r a star and the breakfast is amazing thank you sooo much

Rooms need a good vamp new bathroom and we didn't like that our room wasn't hooverd at all while we stayed i dont like to moan but I'm just been honest I know they are short staffed also needs more plug sockets in the room and a good refurbishment paint,new lamps new furniture

The shower in the room was very poor the pressure was almost non existent which made showering very difficult. Two of the light bulbs above the mirrors did not work. Rooms are quite warm on a sunny day.could do with a fan in the room. The choice of draught ale was very limited.

Last minute booking so cant really complain. Price was fine. Shower and bathroom facilities have seen better days

Shower hanging of the wall, toilet wouldn't flash properly. The whole place has gone down hill since the last time we stayed 2 years ago, needs a refurbishment. Fan in bathroom was nearly falling of the wall. Breakfast was horrible didn't eat the second morning.
