Die Freundlichkeit und die guten Restaurants allerdings nicht billig, sondern normalpreisoh. Der Pool war auch ganz toll und dass es auch immer überall neue Handtücher gab.

Die Unterkunft hat mir sehr gut gefallen aber wie überall. In fast jedem Hotel gab es so viele Aufhängenmöglichkeiten für Badewanne und Handtücher im Innen. Nur auf dem Balkon gab es etwas zum Aufhängen. Das war bei Wind nicht so toll.

Great location on the beach on the quieter side of the island but less than a 10 min 200BHT tuk tuk ride over to the town. A nice cocktail bar next door and a fabulous restaurant Buzz Coco Club where we had our best meals of the trip. Authentic Thai style tropical resort with a lovely pool, nice spacious rooms, comfortable beds and good air conditioning. The porters were excellent and friendly helping with luggage on arrival and departure.

We were underwhelmed by breakfast, both the food and the service were average.

What a special place! Just lovely and empty during the rainy season! I would gladly come back. We never left this cove the whole time we were here. Good food. Excellent room. Superior spa. Nice, nice pool!

Vimarn Cottage & Spa was an absolute bliss from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The hospitality was simply outstanding. We were welcomed with genuine warmth, and what touched us most was seeing members of the staff come down to the speedboat to say goodbye when we departed. It perfectly reflects the level of care and attention they give to their guests. Our cottage was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly integrated into the stunning natural surroundings. Every detail seemed thoughtfully designed to create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast deserves special mention. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts I have experienced in Thailand: an amazing buffet with a wide variety of high-quality options, beautifully presented and delicious. The same can be said for Restaurant O, where every meal was excellent, combining quality ingredients, great flavors, and attentive service. The location is simply spectacular. In my opinion, this is the best beach on Koh Samet and the only place on the island where you can enjoy a truly beautiful sunset. The beach is peaceful, secluded, and incredibly scenic. If you are looking for more activity, Sai Kaew Beach is only a short tuk-tuk ride away, making the location perfect: quiet when you want to relax, lively when you want entertainment. I've stayed in many hotels throughout Thailand, and Vimarn Cottage & Spa ranks among the very best. A true paradise, with exceptional service, wonderful food, and an unforgettable setting. We will definitely be back.

I have been coming to Thailand for 45 years, and for the last five years it has been my home. Beautiful Koh Samet was the first island I visited here. There was almost nothing then—a simple bungalow with no electricity, a generator shut off at night, fish caught that same day by local fishermen, and a few beers on ice. I have returned to Koh Samet many times since, and this was now my fifth stay at Le Vimarn Cottages & Spa. I feel I owe them this honest review. For me Le Vimarn represents Thai hospitality at its finest. In a country where many so-called five-star hotels today feel like well-oiled KPI machines, this is one of the very few places in Thailand where you genuinely do not feel like a number. You feel seen, remembered, and taken care of. Before arrival, I contacted the hotel because I was travelling with my parents both over 80, who had stayed here the year before. During that trip, we visited seven different five-star hotels across Thailand with them, and this was their clear favorite. It was their explicit wish to return. That alone says a lot. I reached out to the Resort Manager, Khun Wongwat, who was exceptionally kind and acknowledged us as returning guests. Communication throughout was effortless. When we arrived at the pontoon with our private boat, staff were already waiting with cold towels in hand like in a movie. Small detail, but perfectly timed, and genuinely welcoming. Check-in was handled by Khun Mint, who deserves to be mentioned by name. Warm, attentive, precise without being formal, and always with a natural smile. My parents were given exactly the same room they had the year before, which meant a lot to them. I was initially less happy with my room. After five stays I know the property well and had something specific in mind. Though fully booked, they moved me to the room I wanted after just one night. What stood out wasn't only that they solved it, but how— with quiet, efficient and with genuine care and effort. Once again I have to praise Khun Mint here. The setting itself is exceptional. The beach shared by three small hotels, quite simply, one of the most beautiful I have seen in Thailand: white sand, crystal clear water, and excellent for swimming. The resort is spread out over a relatively large area with individual bungalows, so even at full occupancy it never feels crowded. The bungalows have charm. They are not ultra-modern, slightly rustic in parts, but spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained. Beds are comfortable, linen and towels are very good, air conditioning works perfectly, and overall, the sleep quality is excellent. The food is consistently good. Breakfast isn't a sprawling city-hotel buffet but something more boutique, in keeping with the hotel itself—and perfectly satisfying. I rarely praise Italian restaurants in a hotel, but the one here is genuinely good. Again, consistency is the word: we knew this from previous stays, and it holds. That said, if you stay longer, food variety can become a consideration. You are essentially limited to the hotel or a short bumpy ride into town (about 200 baht by taxi), although the two sister hotels do allow you to order dishes across its different restaurants, which helps mitigate this. There are also a few structural realities worth mentioning. The beach is public, like all Thai beaches are. Visitors from outside can come and spend the day here. The hotel handles this with grace and professionalism. I only wish that all visitors would behave with the same level of respect. What makes this place stand out however isn't any single feature. It's the consistency of the smiles, the level of training and the management you don't see. You get the feeling that people aren't simply working here—they regard the resort with pride, as a home they share with you. It's an old-school haven, run not in a showy way but with the quiet confidence of people who know exactly what they're doing. It is truly a masterclass in how to run a small, high-quality resort. After 45 years of intense travelling, I can say this with confidence: places like this are rare.

Perfect place for disconnecting from the busy life. Ko samet is my fav island in Thailand and this is one of the best hotels on this island

One of the best resorts on the island. The stuff is very polite. Special thanks to Khun Champoo and Khun Pai. We really enjoyed the Italian restaurant O where I even could get a Limoncello after tasty dishes and good wines. Last but not least the Shuttle Boat Service to the hotel beach is very convenient…

Para mi es el mejor hotel de la isla, por calidad de la habitación, confort, piscina, desayuno y ubicación en el lado oeste de la isla. Estupendo para ver la puesta de sol. Muy tranquilo al ser la única playa en este lado de la isla. El desayuno es muy bueno y variado. La piscina grande y tranquila. Hay varios sitios para comer o tomar bebidas, pero sin el agobio de otras playas. Un plus importante es el desplazamiento en speed boat desde el muelle privado del continente al muelle del hotel en la isla, cero agobios ni aglomeraciones. Muy bien organizado.

Algo curioso fue que la calidad de los platos en el restaurante no estaban al alto nivel de los del desayuno. Quizás no acertamos con el menú.

Das Hotel ist ein kleines Paradies inmitten eines grosszügig angelegten tropischen Gartens. Der feine Sandstrand liegt sozusagen vor der Zimmertür. Pool oder Strand? Beides ist wunderbar! Das Frühstück ist vielfältig und wird liebevoll präsentiert. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und gut geschult. Ein Hotel, das wir vorbehaltlos weiter empfehlen können. Wir hoffen, ein anderes Mal wieder zu kommen!

Probable one of the best hôtel Ive ever stayed at. The hôtel is amazingly beautiful, located on a perfect remote location. It’s quiet and relaxing. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is really good. Everything from arrival (speed boat organized by the hotel) to the end was delightful !

Ideally located in a small bay (only 3 hotels) very quiet, in front of the beach and right in front of the sunset every eve. Staff very nice and polite sometimes anticipating your expectations (e.g. reserving seats for you on the beach). Very nice open restaurant where you'll have breakfast with a good buffet, some "à la carte" options, a new soup every day, etc... The beach is not crowded and a "swimming area" is delimited in the beautiful blue sea. Nice and quiet swimming pool. Complementary speed boat shuttle organised by the hotels to arrive and depart. Ideal place for resting and enjoying "far niente" for a few days !

Le Vimarn exceeded our very high expectations by far. My wife and I, another couple and our daughter, son-in-law and 2 yr old granddaughter stayed for three weeks. From the very moment our private boat turned around the cliffs into the small, secluded Ao Prao Bay, we had the “barefoot island” feeling. The small (only 32 villas) luxury resort is beautifully built with great craftmanship into the hills with great respect for nature and local architecture traditions. The secluded beach is child friendly with crystal clear water and even has a “house reef” with lots of fish. And the staff is beyond belief. On our many previous travels, we have never encountered such friendly people. In all of our three weeks, we never saw anyone not smiling. From the cleaning staff to the guys taking care of the beach chairs and the beach guests to the amazing staff at the “O” restaurant and the reception. It almost feels wrong to single anyone out – but especially Chompoo, Anuluck, Vutthy, Nongnong, Pim and Zann won our hearts. And I got the best back massage of my life by DoakMai by the resort pool. Fantastisch verblijf! We hebben een geweldige tijd gehad in dit tophotel. Het strand is prachtig, het zwembad is hartstikke mooi en de medewerkers zijn ontzettend vriendelijk. Er zijn drie uitstekende restaurants; vooral het Italiaanse en Thaise restaurant waren erg goed. De zonsondergang bij Buzz Coco was echt een hoogtepunt. Al met al een fantastische ervaring en absoluut een aanrader!

Een klein minpuntje is de gym, die wat verouderd is. Maar goed dan moet je wel willen sporten op vakantie 🤣😜

Loved everything about the resort, location, beach, the cottages and staff whom are supper friendly and helpful, not to mention the breakfast. Food we had across the resort was perfect. "O" Restaurant, serving Italian food was superb, food was delicious also the cocktails, staff were the best. Buzz Coco Club was perfect for lunch and also cocktails. Breeze Restaurant at the far end of resort was also superb and the cocktails. (Running theme, cocktails). I can't fault one thing and that's why we have managed to extend our stay for another 8 nights. We were going to move onto another island, but as the saying goes, if it aint broken, dont fix it. Just a little foot note. When you book the resort you have a complimentary speed boat from the mainland to the resort. (Super easy and they sort your luggage from mainland to cottage).

Es war alles perfekt hatten eine schöne Zeit genossen:-) tolles, sauberes Zimmer sowie die ganze Anlage. Der Strand ist wunderschön und man hat immer einen Liegestuhl frei. Sehr nettes Personal. Tolles Frühstück.

Eigentlich alles gut außer dass ich zuhause bemerkt habe, dass mir etwas aus dem Koffer gestohlen wurde. Hatte 25Stk. kleine Duftdosen gekauft und zuhause waren es nur noch 17Stk. Es kann nur im Zimmer weggekommen sein, da ich die Tasche als Handgepäck bei mir hatte. Gekauft hatte ich diese in der Ortschaft 3Tage vorher. Dies hinterlässt einen schlechten Beigeschmack und ich empfehle, die Taschen (Koffer) immer mit einem Sicherheitsschloss zu schließen! Schade!

An exceptional place, like a hidden gem in a jungle preserved from mass tourism. The staff is absolutely at the level of a true 5-star service: attentive, kind, and very professional. The cottages are spacious, very clean, and perfectly maintained. Breakfast is very decent, although a bit more variety in Asian dishes would be a welcome improvement. Hotel facilities are in excellent condition, and the surrounding nature is simply stunning. Much better than the other side of the island, which is far more touristy and crowded. Highly recommended for anyone looking for peace, nature, and authentic relaxation.

We spent 10 days at "Le VIRMAIN COTTAGES & SPA", and first of all we want to thank you all the staff to make our stay unforgettable and so perfect, you are all so kindly,always smiling ,helpful and joyful, we really miss you all so much. I want to thank you from the deep of my heart for making Jose Carlos ( my husband) unforgettable, the surprise in the room, the cake and every details you have had with him. The stay in your Hotel was perfect,starting from the cottages, simply fabulous, always clean and in order in every details, your beach is simply wonderful white and soft, as the clean green water full of fishes, the cuisine of your two restaurants ( italian and international simply delicious, the massages at your your SPA magnifcent. We stayed for 5 nights in October, choosing Koh Samet for some sunshine and beach time while avoiding the rain elsewhere — and we’re so glad we did. Arriving by speedboat was great fun and set the tone for what turned out to be a really special stay. The resort is beautiful: white sand, clear turquoise water, and a peaceful bay that feels tucked away from the world. What we liked: The staff were the absolute highlight — every single person we met was warm, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Our cottage was spacious, comfortable, and just a few steps from the beach and pool, which made it all feel very relaxed. The beach itself is stunning and the sea was like bathwater! We ate at O, Coco, and Breeze, and all were good — nice food, great service, and a lovely setting for each meal. In summary: A beautiful, friendly, and relaxing resort in a perfect spot. Everything from the arrival at the pier to check-out was seamless — we were genuinely sad to leave.

An excellent experience all round. Included speed boat transfers from the mainland, superb buffet breakfast, magical location and sunsets, and the most lovely and efficient staff. Fresh linen and towels every day.

Excellent service, idyllic surroundings, yummy food and a quiet golden sandy beach. Paradise just a couple of hours drive and a short speedboat ride from Bangkok airport. The team were attentive and always on-hand without being intrusive. Nice choice of restaurants.

Le Vimarn is truly the perfect place to recharge and relax. Every stay feels like a real retreat for the soul. Hallelujah!
