Resort in una piccola baia riservata con altri 2 resort di cui 1 della stessa proprietà... per noi che cercavamo relax e tranquillità è stato ottimo, ma per chi cerca vita (forse anche per il periodo non in stagione ) dopo le 21.00 deserto. Spiaggia poca se in alta marea. Ristoranti ottimi sia nel resort adiacente più elegante sia in questo. Personale cordiale, teli sempre a disposizione. Samed è un isola molto sporca, a differenza della baia di Ao Prao che sembra di essere in un altro mondo. Prezzi servizi e ristoranti più alti rispetto allo standard Thailandese.

Thousand of stairs to climb (we were on the highest floor of the hotel) with 2 small kids. We would have appreciated a more accessible room.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und achtete sehr auf einen netten und ruhigen Umgang.Die Organisation des Shuttleservices hat super funktioniert (An - wie auch Abreise). Das Resort war sauber und gut gepflegt!

Loved everything! Gorgeous beach, lovely rooms, really polite and accommodating staff. The hotel is around 15 mins from the one main town center and has a beautiful stretch of the coast.

We couldn't tell from the booking or property details that our room would be 10 flights up on the hill. We were lucky that we could find another room for our parents who have mobility issues. The staff were very accommodating though and found new rooms for our entire party. The smaller room was a bit basic and surprising that it cost the same as the larger one.

Geen toilet bij het zwembad. Er was een toilet bij de receptie, maar daar kon je niet in badkleding naartoe. Daarnaast was tijdens ons gehele verblijf de damestoilet niet toegankelijk. Hierdoor genoodzaakt om naar toilet op de kamer te gaan echter was dit steeds een flinke klim in de hitte omdat we helemaal bovenaan verbleven. En let op dat zwemkleding kan verkleuren in het zwembad; mijn net nieuwe witte bikini werd bruin. Personeel was wel zo vriendelijk om deze 2x te wassen (echter waren de vlekken er niet volledig uit te krijgen)

We had a wonderful stay at Ao Prao Resort. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly maintained. Our room was spacious, and very comfortable, making it a great place to relax. The staff were exceptional—always smiling, kind, and genuinely committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. Their warm hospitality made a real difference. The resort offers three restaurants, and we had excellent meals at all of them. Having several high-quality dining options on-site was a great advantage. The beach is beautiful and, in our opinion, the nicest on the island, especially compared to the eastern side of Koh Samet. While there were times when the beach could have been a little cleaner, it was still a wonderful place to swim, relax, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Overall, we had a fantastic and relaxing stay and would happily return.

One small area for improvement would be the shower water pressure, which was a bit weaker than expected. During one day of our stay, strong waves washed a considerable amount of debris onto the beach. While this was clearly due to the sea conditions, we felt the cleanup could have been more thorough.

Our recent stay at Ao Prao Resort was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, attentive, and consistently went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The dining experience was a true highlight—each evening felt magical, with romantic beachfront dinners accompanied by the soothing voice of Teddy, whose singing added a special charm to the atmosphere. Watching the sun dip below the horizon with a perfectly mixed gin and tonic in hand was simply unforgettable. The resort itself is stunning. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and featured a luxurious bathroom, but it was the breathtaking sunset views over the beach that truly made it priceless. Breakfasts were equally impressive, offering a generous variety of fresh fruits, made-to-order omelettes, and other delicious options to start the day. Every detail was thoughtfully executed, and we genuinely couldn’t fault a thing—an outstanding stay in every sense

The beach area is beautiful. Good snorkeling with plenty of fish right off the beach (south end by the reef). All the staff were very friendly. This area of the island is very peaceful. Beautiful sunsets every night.

I felt the restaurant was a little overpriced compared to others on the island. The deluxe hillside room has quite a few steps up to reach the room. I booked last minute though so it was all that was available. If you are out of shape make sure to get a lower room.

The property grounds were lovely, great beach access and the gardens were pretty.

The sun loungers needed a bit of attention but nothing terrible. Staff at check-in were nice but nothing over the top. It was hard to get poolside service for a drink etc, the staff were not very attentive.

Very comfortable waiting room and nice speed boat service takes you to the small bay where the resort is. The location is great, beautiful crystal clear water and the beach is nicely maintained. There are two pools. View from our room was stunning. We liked that there were slippers, beach bag and robe provided. The room was clean and the communal areas as well. We loved the abundance of lush flowers and plants.

The room and especially the bathroom felt a but dated and the bathroom dark. But the bed was comfortable, it was nice to have reading bay by the window. The breakfast was generous but I had the feeling it was the same every day. I would have loved to have more variety in the desserts and fruits.

As a long-time, loyal customer of Samed Resorts Group, I would first like to commend the mainland team. The luggage staff, parking attendants, and receptionists on the mainland provided excellent service, as always. Unfortunately, our experience on the island was highly disappointing. Given the high room rates, we expected a much higher standard. Compared to our previous stays, the quality of both food and service has severely declined. I would like to provide constructive feedback on three specific issues: 1. Poor Dinner Quality at Breeze Restaurant Upon arrival, we booked a BBQ dinner and ordered the grilled meat skewers (680++ THB). When the food was served, the grilled vegetables and jacket potato were cold. We informed the staff, and while the vegetables improved on the second attempt, the meat was of terrible quality. It was so tough that even a steak knife could not cut through it. The sauce also lacked flavor. Furthermore, the jacket potato was clearly boiled, not baked or roasted as advertised. 2. Unhygienic Breakfast Utensils During breakfast, I grabbed a fresh glass from the station only to find a prominent lipstick stain on the rim. This raises serious concerns about the resort's cleanliness and dishwashing standards. 3. Rushed and Unprofessional Checkout Process At 11:00 AM, the front desk called to inform us that we had only 15 minutes to pack because the staff needed to pick up our luggage. They explained that due to strong waves, we had to take a car to the pier instead. While I completely understand and prioritize safety, I do not understand why we were given only a 15-minute notice, especially since we had pre-booked the 12:30 PM boat during check-in. When I stated that 15 minutes was not enough, the staff's tone became very harsh and aggressive, sternly giving us a strict deadline of 11:30 AM. It felt like we were being forced and rushed out of the resort. This process would not have been an issue at all if the resort had proactively informed us about this alternative bad-weather protocol during check-in. As returning guests, we cannot help but compare this experience to our wonderful past visits. We expected much more for the price we paid, and I hope management takes these issues seriously to restore the resort's standards.

Las ranas, no dejan dormir. Debajo de nuestro dormitorio había un pequeño estanque y es imposible descansar con las ranas, deberían quitar ese estanque porque es francamente difícil descansar

Mooiste strand van KS. Snorkelen voor de deur. Rustige zee. Heerlijk ( wel wat duurder) restaurant met voortreffelijk en aardig personeel ( greetings to Mint and Tiger and all the rest!) Leuk huisje met balkon. Alles in huis voor een paar dagen rust… Speedboot vervoer gratis en adequaat geregeld!

Lovely resort, such friendly and helpful staff, beautiful location on the beach. Excellent food at Breeze restaurant. We enjoyed the activities provided such as tie-dye and soap making. Beautiful views of sunset from almost anywhere on resort. Crystal blue waters and beautiful white sandy beach - truly a beautiful spot.

We booked a Hillside Bayview Suite as this was recommended for families. Although the room is nice inside, this is at the very top of the hill with approx 80 steep steps and an entrance tucked away at the back of the resort with the water tanks and drainage and not really suitable for a young family. Also the 'additional' bed offered for children is a rather uncomfortable foam sofa and charged at an additional 680baht per night. We were offered an upgrade if we wanted to change rooms, but this would be at a cost of an additional 4,500 baht per night (we had already paid 12,000 baht per night for our original room) which seemed a little excessive just to be closer to the resort facilities. I think it needs to be made clearer on the descriptions that this room type includes and multiple very steep sets of stairs for access. A great resort and a wonderful experience but not necessarily great value for money.

Lovely big room with a big comfy bed. Fruit and water provided in room. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Boat transfer included in price from Rayong if required. We had a high room right at the top of the hill and the view was amazing. 2 pools, 1 with a bar and lots of space and sun beds. Pools over look the sea so best of both worlds. Only 3 hotels on this beach but still lots to do in evening but all closes up at 22.30 so really quiet and peaceful and a good nights sleep is guaranteed. Amazing sunsets from all the bars. Breakfast was lovely with a good choice of food. Restaurant and pool area food is really good. An option to have dinner on the beach in a tippee if you want it, we did and what an experience. We would would definately stay there again.

Umm, absolutely nothing, we loved it. If you struggle with stairs just make sure you don't book a high room.

At man skal betale ekstra for at få en seng ind - selvom man har bestilt til barn … vil man nøjes med en madras ( hvilket fungerede fint ) så var det gratis - men det skabte lidt ballade at det ikke var helt gennemsigtigt fra start af ( det står med meget meget småt et eller andet sted )

God beliggenhed ved dejlig strand. Personalet er ekstremt venlige og hjælpsomme. Højt serviceniveau. God mad.

Stunning little bay. Quiet, safe, no loud watersports. Cristal claer sea and a beautiful marine life. They shoul (for real) clean the beach daily; especially edges of the beach. Wonderful nature. I've asked to change a room and the new one was significantly better than the one I was given initially; but wasn't available during my whole stay. O restaurant located in the resort next door has lovely food and cocktails. Buzz Coco (again resort next door) is a nice spot for a coffee or a cold drink. Bay is well connected with other parts of the island.

Deffo overpriced for what you get. AVOID if you have any food allergies. I have asked if they can cater for my dietary needs in advance and the answer was yes but that is very far from truth. Whats worse was that staff didn't even make an effort to cater for my dietary needs. Level of English is extremely poor. I had a translation of what I can and cannot eat. This did not help. Breeze restaorant in Ao Pao resort doesn't serve nice food. They managed to mess up even a simple staple dish - Pad Thai. Need to repeat this, level of English (or other European languages) is below what is expected. Staff spends a lot of time on their phones not aware what goes around them. Don't get me wrong, staff is plesant and smiley but not much help from them. They don't ask if you need anything, if everything is ok. None of that. You cannot even tell who's the manager. Resort needs a revamp. Looks old and not well maintained. Rooms look tired, furtniture is old, everything very old fashioned. I asked for another room and, surprise! surprise!, they do have much better villas. Unfortunately, this villa wasn't available throughout my whole stay (needed to extend my stay). moved rooms and villa I stayed in is still not occupied. What's that all about!? Entertainment in the evening should stay where it belongs - in 80's. Beach chairs are those white plastic ones, old and in the best shape. And then one day they stopped bringing them to the side of the beach where I'm at. Not sure why.

Le fait de payer plus de 1000€ pour 3 nuits, et d'avoir, du fait de l'emplacement de notre chambre, une baie vitrée et un côté de la terrasse qui donne sur le débarras de l'hôtel, échelles, pots de fleurs , bidons.....il aurait fallu mettre un trompe l'œil ou plus de végétaux à ces deux endroits là par exemple. C'est dommage, et j'espère que cette chambre n'est pas au même prix que les chambres de même catégories qui étaient à côté de la notre....

Vermutlich der Beste und ruhigste Strand auf Koh Samet mit einem gemütlichen Resort. Der Gästeservice und die Gastfreundschaft war herausragend. Vor allem bei Zann möchten wir uns bedanken. Sie hat unseren Urlaub zu etwas Besonderes gemacht, die Herzlichkeit beim Empfang bis zur Abreise war einmalig und wir haben uns dadurch sehr wohl gefühlt. I asked our travel agent for somewhere in Thailand that is quiet and suitable for a few days retreat. That is exactly what it was. The resort is clean, well maintained and constantly serviced by friendly staff. Breakfast was so varied to suit all tastes and Western and Thai cuisines. No-one can honestly go hungry here. Meals served throughout the day are good quality, well presented and reasonably priced. The beach is beautiful with very little tidal difference so the sea is always at your feet. Clear waters, warm even in February and safe for all. Towels provided on the beach but grab your lounger early to ensure you get a good choice. The rooms are clean and spacious with daily bottles of water supplied. Our room was high on the hillside, so it was good exercise every time we went up there. Beware if you have difficulty with 85+ steps up and down. There is not a lot of scope for places to visit on the island. We walked each time but in the high humidity- tiring and plenty of water. The bus service is only a maximum of 50THB but seems to be very erratic and we couldn't find out the official timings. There are taxis but at 300THB we declined (skinflints). Of the those beaches and resorts that we saw and explored we conclude that Ao Prao is by far the best of anything. For a quiet, relaxing break it is ideal (as long as you are not seeking to go sightseeing).

We’ve had some really wonderful days at Ao Prao Resort. We chose the place due to location and good food rating, and we were not disappointed. Such a relaxed and comfortable place, great location, super friendly staff and wonderful Thai food. We even tried the cooking class and go back with a trick or two. This place ❤️ We’d be back in a blink of an eye!

Frukosten var 10/10, personalen var så hjälpsamma och trevliga, lugnet som infann sig här på ao prao. Att det fanns ett litet gym var ett plus! Vill man till stan så var det väldigt enkelt att ta sig in med taxi eller att hyra moppe. Vi kommer absolut att boka här igen!

Läget och närheten till strand

Solsängarna borde uppgraderas. Det anstår inte ett hotell av denna klass att ha plastsängar. Alla borde vara i gediget trä. Blir snyggare då.

feinkörniger weißer Sandstrand, kostenlose Liegen, Schirme und Badetücher, wir hatten unser Zimmer ganz oben, ca. 80 Stufen, gut gehbar, Gehbehinderte sollten bei Buchung ein Zimmer weiter unten anfragen, Hotel völlig ruhig, keine Animation, keine Musik, 3mal pro Woche abends Feuershow, Frühstück und ggf. Abendessen sind ausgezeichnet, kostengünstiges PickUpTaxi wird umgehend beschafft, am Festland an den Piers gibt es eine Rezeption am Hoteleigenen AoPraoAnleger, an der man die Koffer abgibt und die einen zum Schiff bringen, Transferzeit mit dem Schiff vom Ableger Festland zum Hotelsteg ca. 10min., das Gepäck wird gekennzeichnet und zum Zimmer gebracht

Die Aussicht war sehr schön mit Blick auf das Meer, und die Beleuchtung war geschmackvoll gestaltet. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und sehr vielfältig. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Essen insgesamt sehr lecker.

Teilweise haben mehrere Mitarbeiter unterschiedliche Informationen gegeben, was etwas verwirrend war. Ansonsten war dies jedoch kein großes Problem.

Everything about this resort was fantastic, the staff were exceptional. Could not fault their attitude towards making oyur stay being memorable. All the food was brilliant.
