We have just come back from Jardim Do Vau and we loved it there. We stayed with our 4 year old and 5 month old and they had a great time. Our 4 year old became really confident swimming in the smaller pool without arm bands which was amazing. The reception and pool bar staff are all really friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. We could have a pool morning and beach afternoon and could easily nip back to the room if we needed anything for the kids. There are enough restaurants nearby and we took an Uber into Alvor and Praia de Rocha a few times too. We had a two bedroom apartment and it was so spacious. Top tip, take laundry tablets and dishwasher tablets as we used both throughout the holiday. I did a load of washing before coming home and it’s a game changer! Great stay and we will definitely be back.

Had a lovely week at Jardim do Vau. We had a two bedroom apartment which was very spacious with two fully equipped bathrooms which was great with a family of four. The apartments are very well maintained and spotlessly clean. They also have numerous good quality air conditioning units which makes them very comfortable. The only thing which would have been useful in the apartment would have been a clothes airer to dry clothes on the balcony seeing as the apartments have washing machines. We went for half-board. Even though it was buffet style and the food was lovely it is not to the scale of larger more all inclusive style resorts we have stayed at and the choice is less. Not very many people seem to go for half board and the restaurant was usually pretty quiet so I can see why the restaurant would not provide a huge choice. It's not a criticism, it's just not your typical all inclusive style if that's what you're used to. The pool area is lovely and getting sun loungers is no problem as they are plentiful. The pool bar is also nice with a nice selection of snacks, pizzas and a full bar. There is also a pool table there. The resort overall is pretty quiet with quite a few older couples in their 60s and 70s. If you're looking for a family resort with a buzz and lots of activities then this will probably be a little too quiet for you. There were some families here but there is no entertainment program or anything like that if that's what you're looking for. The beachfront location is great with the beach only steps away from the pool. It's a beautiful beach and when the tide is out you can walk the beach all the way into Praia De Rocha. Every member of staff we met were fantastic and so friendly and obliging, Location is in between Portimao and Alvor with Praia de Rocha a 20 min walk away if you are looking for somewhere with a bit of a buzz. There are a few smaller restaurants just beside the hotel but the area immediately around the hotel is quiet. We didn't have a car and didn't need one. Ubers are plentiful and good value to get anywhere within half an hour (Portimao, Lagos, Alvor, Carvoiero and Slide and Splash). Overall a lovely week and I would return but probably as a couple or with friends and not with kids.

We love this location and return to it regularly. The apartment was clean and well serviced. Great facilities here.Friendly staff.

So many packed around pool we struggle to find two sun beds together, but usually managed. The restaurant was empty although the property was full. The food looked unappetising so we ate elsewhere.

Such a lovely place to spend your days letting go of the stress of everything. It's so welcoming, cozy, and just steps to the beach. Truly unique in an amazing location.

Friendly staff and everything we needed was close by including restaurants within walking distance and a small store. Very valuable to have beach access from the property. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed our 2 wks in a 1 bedroom suite with ocean view on 2nd floor, the visit was mid April. Weather was 20c, so the pool area was enjoyable. Lots of loungers, clean pool & adjacent bathrooms, pool snack bar nearby for drinks & food, cool pool water temp but invigorating, shade areas & sunny for everyone’s needs & pool bar service. Friendly & helpful staff at front desk, pool snack bar & cleaning staff. Laundry service available for a fee. Restaurant used for desserts, a bit expensive but convenient. We did our own breakfasts & ate out for dinner nearby. Comfortable adequate rooms, maybe sparse with decor & old style. Balcony to partial ocean virw, but we were in Block B near road. Quiet room. Good water pressure & hot water. Sm refrigerator but adequate. No salt/pepper or condiments. Had to get staff to explain cook too directions. Close proximity to restaurants, beach, walking trail on shoreline, boardwalk to Portimao (restaurants, shops & beach) Rental car from Faro airport made it easy to explore area. Always lots of free parking near room. Round abouts galore. Grocery store 5 mins away by car. Alvor is close by to explore town, restaurants & boardwalk. Indoor pool was not used as weather was excellent, but a few people were in it. Library for book borrowing. Didn’t use spa services. Good for people with limited walking ability as resort isn’t too large & elevators available. A lot of return visitors. We would too!! An older resort but location was ideal.

Can’t say enough good things about this Hotel . We have enjoyed our stays for quite a few years , usually in March to escape some of our Canadian Winter. The Staff are exceptional from Reception , Front Office, Housekeeping . Friendly , efficient , knowledgeable. . The location is perfect , steps from a sandy beach , great for walking . The 2 bedroom units are spacious , well equipped kitchens with washing machine and dishwasher . The beds are comfortable and if you find the mattress too firm ( we didn’t) , Housekeeping will happily put on a foam topper for your comfort . Apartments cleaned 6 days/week . Small Convenience store on lower level with wonderful warm buns in the mornings . You can get your every day needs there or a short Uber ride to a large Grocery Store for all your big shopping. We lucked out this year with warm, sunny skies for our 3 week visit . Already booked for March 2027 . Lots of wonderful restaurants in the area and the helpful staff at reception will advise and make reservations if needed.

We just arrived home from this lovely hotel after a one month gay. We are seniors and loved all the facilities t this hotel, it has front desk service 24/7 and all the staff are very friendly and most speak English and MARTA in the front office was always so efficient and helpful. It has an indoor pool, gym, library, hot tub and restaurant and the grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. It was ways kep so clean. We loved the location and since we did not have a car we took the u er everywhere even to the little outlying villages and all were better than renting a car since my husband does not walk well, we did not have to worry about finding parking spaces in the small towns that ll have limited parking as we were picked up and dropped off at our locations. It was very quiet and felt very safe, about a 10 min walk from the hustle and bustle. My husband had to visit the private clinic while we were there and their system was so very efficient we waited only 15 minutes he had rays blood work, etc and we were back at our hotel 2 hr later. Anyway highly recommend this excellent hotel and we will return

A well appointed unit that was very comfortable. The reception staff were great and helpful. Very easy to get UBERs to anywhere.

We have just returned from a 5 week stay at Jardim do Vau, we thoroughly enjoyed it, our apartment B204 was very spacious, an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, good sized bathroom with shower over the bath and a very good size bedroom, very comfortable twin beds, hanging space, shelves and drawers and the safe is also in the wardrobe and it is free. Anna our lady came in every day apart from Sundays, she was absolutely amazing and she certainly went above and beyond to help us during our stay. We hired a mobility scooter for my Husband, he charged it in our hallway so there was plenty of room, the only downside was he had to go around the building to go out, there again dropped kerbs are very sparse wherever you go in Portugal. The only downside was the weather but luckily the hotel didn’t suffer flooding

Super locatie, dicht bij het strand, heerlijk zwembad (alleen binnen gebruik van gemaakt), genoeg parkeerplekken indien je met de auto komt, ruim appartement, dagelijkse schoonmaak. Supermarkt en centrum op 5-10 min rijden. Let op: bij zwembad badmuts gebruiken.

The Jardim do Vau is in a fantastic location, 2 minutes from the beach and within easy walk to Praia Da Rocha. The accomodation was very clean and spacious, it would be ideal for a family holiday. We will return in the future for sure.

I had a good time at Jardim do Vau with my wife and our 2 small children. The location is directly on a beautiful beach, and the reception staff are very helpful and friendly. I wanted to give 5 stars, but unfortunately, one day before we were about to leave, we were treated very rudely by an older blonde woman at the swimming pool. About 10 minutes before 7:00 p.m., she came to the pool to warn people that it would close at 7:00 p.m. While I was in the changing room, she came inside and rudely told me to hurry up, repeatedly saying, “It’s closed! It’s closed!” while pointing at her watch. Then she rushed both me and my small child toward the exit. I was confused because the week before, a male staff member had told me that the pool closed at 10:00 p.m. She responded, “I have worked here for 25 years. That’s impossible. This is the rule!” I understand that rules must be followed, but this is not the right way to treat guests. She needs to learn basic politeness, especially when working in the tourism industry.

The apartment is well equipped with large living space but bedrooms are very tiny.

Twee badkamers en een prachtig groot balkon. In de keuken was alle apparatuur aanwezig. De bedden sliepen ook prima.

We stayed at this hotel for one week and really enjoyed the experience. The restaurant was v good and food plentiful. The indoor swimming pool , gym etc were of a good standard. Attempted a swim in the sea but too rough at the time. The walk from the hotel to Praia de Rocha was very pleasant, with numerous cafe stops on route We were a little scared by cockroaches entering the room via the bathroom We were in room 11 b My husband dealt with them efficiently. Altogether a lovely break..

At det lå så tæt ved havet, og lige i mellem Alvor og Porimão. Det var et behagelig og rolig hotel.

Ens va agradar tot. Ens va sorprenda lo gran que era l'apartament. Tenia una cuina-memjador molt ample, una bona terrassa i una habitació doble molt gran. Tenia aire acondicionat tant al menjador com a l'habitació. El complex tenia un petit supermercat pero si tens cotxe es millor anar al lidl o aldi que queden a uns 4km. Tenia acces directe a la platja, i mai hi havia problemes per aparcar davant de l'apartament. La zona és un bon punt per visitar les millors platges de Algarve. A 30 minuts de Lagos i a 35 minuts de Praia Marinha. Tornaria a repetir segur!! A mes cada dia feien la neteja de l'apartament i era genial!! Si vols ambient no es la millor zona, doncs esta apartat del nucli urbà, es pot anar passejant i son uns 3km.

I first visited Vau 20 years ago and loved it’s proximity to Alvor and Praia da rocha, while at the same time being away from the madness and also having such a great beach with some nice restaurants. We’ve been back since, and have always wanted to stay here. We would walk by it and figure it’s probably the best place in the area. So finally booked it this time. It’s definitely less commercial than 20 years ago. Clearly many tour operators don’t use it, so most guests, like ourselves, simply booked directly. We opted for the back block away from the pool. We were on the top (4th) floor, 2 bed, 2 bathrooms with a fabulous sea view. Aircon throughout. Apparently the poolside apts don’t have aircon. The apartment was very spacious, with all amenities in the kitchen. Microwave, filter coffee machine, full cooker with oven (if you’re bothered to cook). Even a dishwasher and washing machine. Bring tablets if required. The apartments are cleaned daily, with towel change if required. Quite rare to get a daily clean nowadays so a nice bonus. The apartments are dated, probably top notch in the early noughties, but clearly really well maintained. Everything is spotless and the rooms felt like they had been freshly painted. Pool area is quiet with no music. Loungers were always easy to get, even at around 10.30. Seems to have enough to cater for volume of guests. Pool is lovely but very deep very quickly, so not ideal.pool bar opened 11/11.30, so a bit late too if you want a morning coffee. Nice enough for lunch though. Closes at 6, despite happy hour being 6-7!!!! The little mini market on site was handy. Not much stock though. Limited fresh bread and rolls. Overall it’s one of the best complexes we’ve stayed in. With direct beach access, it’s hard to fault. Our kids are 8,11,17. If younger you might miss a kids club and shallower pool

We only spent a night at Jardim do Vau but it was excellent! We had a warm welcome from Elsa ( on reception) when we arrived. We were slightly earlier than the check in time but Elsa still booked us in as the rooms were ready. The next day we were allowed to stay and use the facilities after check out whilst waiting for our villa to be ready. Highly recommended 👌

Brilliant hotel. Immaculately clean. Fresh beach towels. There is no issue at all getting sunbeds. The pool area is brilliant. Right on the beach. The 2 bed room pool view we had was perfect for family of 5..

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at Jardim du Vau. I cannot fault the place - we stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment in Black D on third floor with beautiful sea views . The apartment was so spacious , clean and comfortable with a large balcony with dining set & loungers . The kitchen had absolutely everything you could possibly need . The pool area is gorgeous , very chilled with a great pool bar and cafe open 11am-6pm. Pool is open 8am-8pm. They do great Pina Colada’s & there’s a cocktail of the day for€6. There’s direct access down to a lovely beach with several beachside restaurants . There’s a handy shop on site but Lidl is 8 mins away in an Uber for £3.50 so we stocked up there on food wine & beer . It’s about 20 min walk in to Praia de Rocha along the coast which is extremely lively with a ‘strip’ which was packed & very loud . We preferred to spend the evenings eating & drinking in Alvor in the other direction which is a 10 min maximum Uber drive away . Never waited more than 5 mins for an uber there or back and it’s a beautiful classy resort with fantastic seafood & Italian restaurants & great bars .

Clean, spacious rooms, with big balconies. Nice pool area with bathrooms- although people reserve their chairs early in the morning and don’t show up until hours later (signs that this is not allowed but it’s not enforced), shop has everything you need - food/snacks/toiletries. Later check out easily accommodated. 2 chairs and an umbrella available for rent at the beach for 20 euros but plenty of place if you want to stretch out on the beach a short few mins walk over.

No dish soap/sponge, dishwasher or washer soaps provided- ironing board but no iron- I didn’t bother asking.

This is an amazing location. The units are nice, and the pool is excellent. The parking is good. We had an issue with the air conditioning in our unit, they transferred us to an another unit. Everything was fine then.

We stayed this month , 2 bed apartment big with loads of space, 2 adults, 2 teens. cleaned daily, spotless. Every staff member we met was so helpful and pleasant. Wonderful outdoor pool area and direct access to beautiful beach.no hassle getting loungers. Nice walk to praia da rocha and easy Uber access to Alvor and the aqua shopping centre. Great shop on site with all you need. Trip to supermarket in aqua centre worthwhile if cooking in apartment. Looking forward to returning next year.

The room was a great size and had excellent facilities. Location was perfect for the beach especially people with mobility issues.

We have zero complaints. The accommodations were great. Staff excellent and so helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Pool and proximity to beach is steps away. Apartment cleaned daily and in walking distance to so many restaurants etc.

The people at the desk were very obliging and helpful. The rooms and balcony were fine. It was easy to access the beach area and local restaurants.

We didn't use the dining room because it was mostly fixed price buffet and the occasions when we dropped down the staff didn't know when menu ordering would be available. Strange. We would have like to have had an option to eat there. The ladies at the store were only transactional and didn't really engage with people coming into the store (no welcome.) It was helpful to have it there but we think opportunities were lost by not engaging with those coming into the store, i.e. "can I be of help to you? "

We have been coming to this wonderful hotel for 13 years ( minus Covid ) . Have only high praise for everyone from Reception , Management , Housekeeping . Friendly, efficient staff who treat you like family . They make your stay feel so comfortable and react quickly to any request . Travelled with friends and it was their first time and they were so pleased they have booked for 5 weeks next year. The apartments are cleaned 6 days/week to very high standards . You can book excursions at the front desk who will also make restaurant reservations and call taxi’s when you request . The beautiful sandy beach is literally steps from hotel . Indoor pool is exceptional . Highly recommend !

There are many free parking spaces. It's a little far from the city center, so it's quieter.

There are no dishwashing tools and washing liquid, and the customer service said that they need to buy them themselves.

Very nice Property and Staff

Stayed in room 107A a 1BR ground level facing pool and beach for 4 weeks. Highly recommend! The room was situated in the ideal location. Steps from outside pool, beach and boardwalk via patio door. From front door steps away from inside pool (must wear hair cap), whirlpool, steam room, sauna, library, grocery store, restaurant, gym, hair salon and massage parlour. The bedroom was a little small, but had a large wardrobe and makeup area and mirror. The kitchen was sufficient. Only downside was the one bedroom does not come with washer (on-site cost 10 euros) and only a bar fridge. 2BR has larger fridge and washer and dryer. Loved the extended ground level patio with 3 lounge chairs, patio set and umbrella. The area gets quite hot as it has wind barriers. The staff and maid service were great. No issues. Everyone spoke English and were extremely friendly. The grounds and room were extremely clean. Absolutely loved the area. During low tide you can walk the beach 50 mins one way to the marina. Lots (some of which aren’t open during winter months) of restaurants, bars, grocery stores and liquor stores within walking distance. Moonlight bar (about 25 mins) is a MUST! Bartender Hugo is the absolute best. Things to note, if you are coming during hotter times of the year, this room does not have AC only fans. The poor bar is closed during winter months. On-site restaurant, bar and grocery store have limited hours. On Sundays, the indoor pool is closed and there is no maid service. Towels are changed everyday and beds every 4 days. We met a lot of great people and found there were a lot of repeaters that come back to this hotel each year. We would have no hesitation to do so as well. Can’t wait to come back again and stay for 3 months next time!

We stayed five nights in 2 bedroom apartment in January 2025. We like the quiet location, amenities, and its own beach. Central enough to drive to all the spots in Algarve. Note that you will need to spend 5 euro for skull caps if you want to use the pool. The kitchen was well stocked. My only complaint is that the beds were not comfy for me (this is however subjective to everyone). We would stay here again.

Being low season it was very quiet, there were some lovely walks, the beach was raked daily, the people were very pleasant and it was easy to get around by taxi. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were great and when the restaurant was open it was very good. We heartily recommend this hotel.

We enjoyed our stay in our very spacious two bed/two bath! We didn’t have a view of the ocean but it was a short walk around the building in front to the coastline. The area is pretty busy, several dining options available.

Calm location, great swimmingpool (Deep for it is adres value) . We nevernhad a problem to find a spot at the pool. Rooms are big enough. Nice service. The Beach is outstanding. Long walk to the city but duable. Taxi cost approx 7 euros to the city. Highway recommended place

Holiday | Family Reception - Was welcomed by this woman called ELSA. She made us feel like Portuguese people lack hospitality skills. What an arrogant, miserable looking, rude snapy receptionist. I don't know how this hotel uses this woman as a first point of contact. She immediately makes you feel like you weren't supposed to be there. At first I thought it was just that we were tired... until during our stay I spoke to other guests who said the same thing. Food - DONT BOOK THE FOOD. ITS HORRIBLE!!! The owner needs to stop being tight fisted and bring some company that can make your guests enjoy their stay. The food is horrible and doesn't represent Portugal in any way. We ended up spending more money eating in the town and it was so worth it. You have a beautifully located hotel... just spend a bit more money for a better experience Waiters - NUNO and NADIA saved our holiday. They were so lovely. I hope they get a raise. Very personable. If they were at the reception.... guests would have a better experience. PAY ATTENTION TO THE THINGS YOU IGNORE. IT'S A LOVELY HOTEL THAT NEEDS PEOPLE WHO CARE. !!!

The room was nice and clean. It had the right size for a family with a kid. Facilitates were also good enough and complete for such a short stay. The access was easy and plenty of free parking places.

The WiFi was almost disconnected. Supper slow connection and often disconnected.

We visited Jardim do Vau for 12 days in December for Christmas . 2 adults 3 children . First impressions weren't very good as the exterior and overall look of the hotel look very dated. The lift is very small. We stayed in block D room 109. There is a bit of a sea view however the block infront cuts out the view. The 2 bed apartment was quite spacious, very clean and included good facilities such as a washer dryer and a dishwasher. However we had issues with the kettle. It never switched off when boiled. Other room issues were the toilets, one didn't flush well and the other didn't seem to stop flushing ! The bedding smelt really nice, bed was comfortable however mattress did have hard springs. The tv has a good range of channels including sky sports , Disney, cbeebies, sky news, itv , BBC . There's a manual on the tv (somewhere above channel 118 I think!) you'll find it useful as you don't get any info at check it. The kids enjoyed the onsite park. There's a huge trampoline, swings, slide , roundabout and see-saw. The beach is beautiful. The main negative is the hotel is very noisy...the walls-floors-ceilings are very thin that you hear everybody else. At night all we could hear was people stamping across the floors and furniture being scraped along the floor which resulted in us not sleeping very well!! Maybe we were just unfortunate to be placed under a family of elephants and people who liked to stay up all night... The indoor swimming pool has strict rules. No inflatables and swimming caps must be worn. They provide these for 4 euro each. Sauna and steam room is 5 euro. There's a mini shop at the hotel. It's quite small and not much choice but you will use it as there's no other close shops nearby. It's a steep uphill walk to praia da rocha, around 20 mins, where there is shops , restaurants and fast food. We used uber to get around as it was quick and easy. We visited lagos zoo which was nice, it's around 30 mins away and costs around 22-30 euro in uber. The fishing village Alvor is nearby but very quiet and not much to do there unless you want a different scene and a nice seafood restaurant . Overall it's OK and good if you want a rural hotel with nice walks and beaches. I would have rated it a 4 but the noise and lack of sleep due to the noise brings it to a 3 .

Just come back from a four night stay at these apartments and I must say they were excellent. Great amenities lovely pool area and very friendly staff. The little on site shop had all we wanted and we ate in the restaurant on our first night and although there was several items unavailable what we had was great. The apartments are very assessable to the beach and there are a few restaurants nearby although some were closed because it was off season. We recommend Just Beef which is in walking distance up the coast, we ate here twice! Would definitely recommend a stay at these apartments and hope to return soon. Thank you

Check in was quick and flawless, great access to beaches, and restaurants. The pool hours closed earlier then preferred but that’s the only knock on the place
