It was the ideal, cozy 'home away from home' to return to after our rugged glacier expeditions. We loved sitting outside our small wooden house as the light faded, sharing stories of the ice fields and the day's adventures while looking out at the vast, peaceful landscape. We liked the small size of the hotel, the character of the buildings and rooms with lots of wood, the landscaped area with lots of trees and how quiet it was at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The beds need to be replaced - they are hard, lumpy and very uncomfortable. Also, a comfortable loveseat or comfy sitting chairs are needed as there is only the kitchen table with the usual small wooden chairs that are fine for a meal, but not good for relaxing afterwards.

El desayuno en la cabaña era abundante y rico. Tenia cafetera eléctrica y café de filtro. Me gustó la tranquilidad y silencio del jardin. Un balcón al jardin precioso. La calefacción por radiadores muy bien.

La cama matrimonial era muy pequeña y corta . El colchón muy viejo, todo vencido y apelotonado. La griferia del baño perdía y el desagüe de la bañera estaba obstruido, no drenada. Está lejos del centro para ir a pie y no hay negocios cerca

A cozy cabin for a couple of nights' stay. The room was clean and very quiet. Friendly staff. Located a few kilometers from the center of Calafate.

Las cabañas son muy monas y rodeadas de jardines. Muy tradicionales. Está fundido con la Naturaleza y parece que estás en un lugar de hace 25 años sin demasiados cambios. Si lo que se quiere es tranquilidad, es el sitio ideal.

El wifi no funcionaba apenas. La moqueta de los dormitorios. El desayuno demasiado dulce, zumo con azúcar, dulce de leche, mermelada con azúcar, pastelitos y cornflakes con azúcar

We liked the space of having a full apartment. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the centre of El Calafate.

The cabin was very nice and spacious. The wood decor is very nice. Bed and pillows were comfortable. It's not really in the center of Calafate but still walking distance.

Breakfast was included but was not very good - only a lot of bread and no real fresh fruit/juices. Additional food onsite is expensive. Location has some views to the lake but mostly obstructed by other buildings and trees.

Nuestra estadía fue ESTUPENDA, el ambiente muy familiar y acogedor, nos sentimos como en casa en todo momento, en todo sentido! el staff re humano y amable, nos recibieron súper atentos, nuestra cabaña (la 5) tenía una vista hermosa, la calefacción funciona a perfección, las camas son firmes, y la cocina tiene todo lo necesario! El sistema de recibir el desayuno a la noche es fantástico! nos dio muchísima libertad de horarios y comodidad! En el alojamiento nos ayudaron con las reservas de excursiones, la chef nos sirvió platos deliciosos tipo room service y también probamos el restaurante del hotel! el último día nos ofreció su mermelada casera de Calafate! Un privilegio! Elliot & Darka nos alegraban con su presencia cada tanto y disfrutamos plenamente las caminatas hacia el centro y alrededores todos los días! No alquilamos auto en ningún momento, no nos fue necesario! La ciudad para nosotras fue plenamente caminable de punta a punta, incluso fuimos caminando desde las cabañas hasta el Glaciarium! Kilómetros de recuerdos inolvidables! De nuevo gracias infinitas!!

Excelente el trato del personal del hotel (Marcos y Veronica) nos apoyaron en pedir taxis o como le llaman en esa parte de La Argentina Remises. El desayuno que te brinda el hotel muy completo y apropiado para iniciar el día. La vista al Lago Argentino es impresionante.

This is a good place to stay. Clean and nice, big cabins in a cozy property. Pros: Helpful staff, well equipped rooms and cereal & toasts breakfast. Cons: No 24hrs front desk and no convinces stores walking distance. Acceptable beds in a cabin well equipped, the hotel has a restaurant, the only walkable option, but the zone has great restaurants if you go by car.

Muito limpo, pessoas que trabalham no hotel são muito receptivas. Chalé muito aconchegante. Café da manhã ok. Cozinha super equipada, só estava com a porta do armário quebrada. Fica uns 20 minutos de caminhada do centro, mas ok. Muito silenciosa.

What a great place to stay. Front desk staff was Welcoming informative and helpful. We were allowed to check in early. Our cabin was quality clean and well So tan Ed. There was an upper balcony with a door, a lower deck on the front facing the afternoon sun. Bedrooms are up some tight stairs. Bed was firm but very comfortable. Shower had hot hot generous water. Breakfast was generous and allowed us to use some of it to make snack sandwiches for our day out. It is a bit of a walk from town, 2k walk from the bus station (or 8000ar peso cab ride). There is a shorter walk to a bakery/cafe and to the shoreline. There is a small restaurant cafe on site. We had two early morning departures but waited less than 5 min for a cab to arrive. I would recommend staying here. The hosts were delightful.

The breakfast and size of the room

The bed was a little stiff, no wash cloth, and no way to adjust the heat.

We like spacious little houses in wood with view to the lake. They tried to adapt the breakfast to meet our allergies. They have a laundry service.

The old and dusty blankets. Gas eating which is smelly and dangerous by our point of view. The taps are old and not always opening/closing water.

Espaço amplo com camas confortáveis nos quartos e muito aquecimento. Tudo limpo e organizado. Recepção sempre disposta a ajudar. O café poderia ter uns pães e bolos mais saborosos e diversificados, mas estava ok. Fica um pouco distante da área central, mas tem restaurante no hotel. Ainda assim, recomendaria alugar um carro.Voltaria com certeza

The gentleman at the front desk was super polite and helpful. The breakfast brought to our cabin was amazing. Wished we could have stayed longer.

The breakfast was very good and various, it is left inside the room in the previous evening, in case you need to go early next morning. 2 bedrooms with balcony are situated at the first floor with interior stairs. Beautiful property, the garden is lovely with so many roses. The wood cabins are cozy with gas heating. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The staff left us next morning’s breakfast the night before which was a nice touch. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive with anything we needed.

We stayed here overnight. We arrived really late and they waited for us. It's like having a full house to yourself. There are two floors, kitchen area and restrooms. Bedrooms are on 2nd floor. They have heater on each floor. They had breakfast for us but forgot to plug it in. Its a comfortable stay. Parking outside the premise.

Cats everywhere. The lodge has a restaurant the cats were on the tables. Heating systems are antique, not in a good way. breakfast was included looked great. But it was prepared in a cat filled kitchen. could not eat it safely. box lunch was offered, which we declined. Cat hair on the bedding and on rugs. Don't book this if you have Any allergies!

It was a very pleasant experience staying at that place. "Rubius the cat made all the difference " Solares is definitely a keeper.

Good location - quiet place. Close to nature - grass, trees. Good sight to the lake. Cats - kids were absolutely happy! Hotel restaurant. It was not always working - but when it was - it was very tasty and worth the prize. The breakfast was brought to the house and was good.

The set of dishes in the house were old and poor (host tried to help). The floor was cold (actually this is not a minus but be ready to take a warm socks with you). We were a little bit cold in a house.

Loved the view of Lago Argentina, loved their hospitality and their willingness to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy. The friendly cats are a big plus

What an absolute pleasure to stay at Solares del sud. Bith Abril and Pedro were excellent hosts, helping with anything from arranging airport transfers to bus bookings and even salt and pepper when needed. The hotel is perfectly situated overlooking Lake Argentina. Highly reccomended. Our cottage was cosy, warm and comfortable with all the necessary amenities.

The breakfast was not what we normally eat, especially me, since I don't eat dairy or sugar. But it was lovely to have it delivered to our rooms.

I had to change my arrival due to airline strike. I called and told them this. When the van picking me up from Solares called they were told I was not booked which led to a lot of phone calls around the world. I think for a small place they should be easily able to share information

This property is 2 or 3 kms away from shops and restaurants in El Calafate so not convenient without a car or other transportation. We had a small suite, patio in front, kitchen on the main floor, bedroom upstairs not suitable if you have mobility problems. Our rate included breakfast, left in the unit the night before because we had an early departure. There is a small restaurant which we didn’t have time to try.

Buen hotel, sin embargo tiene algunas cosas cosas que podría mejorar, el wifi fue muy malo, era difícil tener una buena conexión, los colchones de las camas eran duros, en lo personal no me gustan las camas duras, falta mejorar el pan del desayuno (estaba duro). El hotel estaba limpio, la atención del personal excelente y muy amables siempre, la vista al lago muy bonita.

Water in shower does not drain because no slope on ground but only minor issue. Sometimes a bit noisy at night around 23h00 but due to neighbours talking outside.

The grounds are beautiful, bursting with flowers that are clearly well tended to. Room itself has nice charm and a beautiful view of the lake. We arrived extremely late due to a flight delay, but we were met by a member of their staff who drove to the hotel after midnight to check us in. They also reached out to arrange our airport pickup, which was really appreciated. Staff was incredibly nice and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast delivery is to your door the night before, nice touch. We walked into town in about 30 minutes using the low road by the riverside, which we enjoyed. My only complaint is that the water sometimes worked in our unit, and sometimes didn’t come out of the taps at all. We didn’t bring this to the attention of the staff so I’m not sure if there was anything they could do to fix it.

This place is so cute and cozy. The food is delicious. The staff is so sweet! They arranged taxi pick up and drop off from the airport. The Wi-Fi is bad toward the further away cabanas, so might not be an idea location if you have to work. The food at the restaurant is excellent! Tours also pick up from this location.

1. Mattress is out of shape and old, it's very uncomfortable to sleep on it. 2. Bath towels are very old and in bad shape, need replacements. 3. Internet service is poor in the cabin. 4. Breakfast service was unexpected, served the night before in the cabin.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was great, since we stayed there in the middle of winter it was so nice to arrive and have the room very warm already for us. It was comfortable and the breakfast was really amazing. They have us lots of options which was nice.

The staff was very friendly and helpful during my stay. It is a little away from the downtown area where many of restaurants are located; but there is a restaurant inside the hotel where you can have local food.

Breakfast given in the evening gives you the ease to take it anytime

Wanted to have our USD refunded so we can pay in pesos due to the change. It was refused.

We had a peaceful cabin with a view of Lago Argentino. Breakfast is generous, with a variety of breads and sweets. The property is beautifully landscaped with cute cats roaming about.
