No facilities open, no food, no bar open,swimming pool is actually a mosquito pit.

L'équipe nous a traité avec le plus grand soin. Il y avait toujours quelqu’un à l'accueil pour répondre à nos demandes. Le petit déjeuner était correcte. Le lieu est reposant, les chambres sont spacieuses, et la literie est juste au top.

Espace piscine en travaux, donc j’y retournerais quand ce sera terminé.

They didnt offer breakfast during the weekend that should be amended or include a microwave and a toaster in the room so the guest can get toast and warm food since they have a fridge in the room

Würde sich das Hotel einen Stern weniger geben, würde ich sagen: perfekt. Ein angebliches Fünfsternehotel mit geschlossenem Restaurant (während der Nebensaison außer an Wochenenden). Weit und breit kein anderes Restaurant...

-Les moustiques! Mon petit dejeuné a été pris en 4eme vitesse a cause d'eux et pareil, impossible de profiter de la piscine. -Le prix du petit déjeuner. Le prix affiché nulle part, mais je ne m'attendais pas a 155 euros! Pour un pti dej anglais basique sans grand choix. C'est frais c'est bon ya rien a dire mais ça vaut pas 155 euros -télé dans la chambre qui ne marche pas si trop de chambre connecté en meme temps. -la caution d'environs 215 euros débitée par surprise a l'arrivée . Compréhensible certes, j'aurai préféré le savoir ( qu'il y ai une caution ainsi que son prix) a la réservation et non la l'avant veille. Alors ils sont recredités si on a pas fait de dégâts, certes, mais faut pouvoir les sortir en plus des 580e les 3nuits ( c'est deja pas donné)

Das wunderschöne Zimmer, der Garten, der Pool, das ganze Haus strahlt Eleganz, Würde und Gelassenheit aus! Das Personal war äusserst freundlich und hilfsbereit - und stellte mir zweimal ein Handy-Aufladegerät zur Verfügung.

Das geschlossene Restaurant im Sommer - noch nicht mal ein Frühstück war erhältlich

I love the rooms, the decor and peacocks roaming freely

I love this hotel but we was not satisfied with the little bottles of water being given in the rooms. We couldn't get regular size bottles and could only get them when the towels were changed. It was very hot and we were very thirsty. I also requested to have rose petals and champagne in my room because it was my boyfriend bday and it didnt happen. To be fare they claim to not have received my request and did try to make up for it the following day but by then it was too late. Also the breakfast was disgusting and highway robbery on the price per person. Flies were flying everywhere and I didnt see any covers food the fruit cups.Overall I love this hotel and the location and would definitely stay here again

It is a super beautiful place! Food was good at the cafe. Rooms are huge, tall ceiling, good AC, mattress, shower is amazing, loved it!

Peacocks are insanely loud, I didn't know they have actual peacocks there XD They were screaming all nigh and morning like someone is trying to kill them. Please provide instructions and earplugs to all the guests!

Would not recommend any one stay at this place. It’s not convenient, there is nothing close by, no bus, no restaurant. The property and area was run down, needs an overhaul. The pool was moldy. Room smelt like mold. I tried to cancel upon arrival when seeing that property was nothing like what was advertised and they said it was not possible. I saw another solo traveler left immediately upon arrival. The birds on the property are beautiful but rest assured they are loud and will keep you up all night. Please choose another place to stay or you’ll be disappointed.

The swimming pool was more of an ornamental type pool surrounded by swarms of mosquitoes. The peacocks were caring all day and all night long. The restaurant and bar were closed during our stay which was in low season so we had to eat out every single meal and the immediate area was NOY suitable /safe to walk so we had to drive everywhere.

Was easy to get to. The rooms were comfortable and food is decent. The hotel is very affordable.

Bathroom had a funky smell.

Hay mmuchos pavos reales que hacen mucho ruido, invaden áreas, no se advierte de la existecia de estos animales en el anuncio. No tienen comida atractiva, el servicio es malo, los empleados nuna estan en el counter o cocina. La piscina estaba sucia, la casa muy antigua necesita mantenimiento, no hay actividades de entretenimineto, el hotel esta lejos de playas y otros lugares turísticos.

La nuisance du mariage le samedi soir suivi d'un événement face à notre terrasse et la piscine la journée du lendemain (nous avons été remboursés d'une nuit après avoir dû négocier avec les 2 managers car ne communiquent apparemment pas entre elles). Le petit déjeuner est très limité à un prix exorbitant (café, toasts, barquettes industrielles de beurre et confiture)

The peaceful ambience, liked that it was away from the normal hustle and bustle of the beachy areas.

It would have been good if there was a lift, at the end bringing the cases down was lots of work but, i recognise it's an old house and we didn't ask for help from the staff... So not complaining just a reflection.

We stayed on a Monday where there is no dinner service and its a little far from restaurants and grocery stores so you'd need to plan ahead

The pool area needs upgrading. The seating area not great. Pool is a key down. Loads of leaves. No evening food available. Had to order take out. Not near other restaurants. Only book if you have a car .

The hotel is wonderful and the peacocks make it magical.

Pool & Peacocks

The restaurant being close on a Monday/Tuesday effects the trip as everything is 20min walk from Manor.

An old quaint manor house near the Hilton Hotel which was the conference centre for my meeting. The food was excellent and staff very friendly. The presence of peacocks on the property was lovely for me, However they are noisy at night and could be disturbing to some guests. This should be mentioned on booking.

If visiting Barbados and wanting a truly relaxing environment with outstanding staff and facilities plus an easy 15 minute meander down to the beach and Bridgetown, this is a must stay location !! A hidden gem which offers so much - all staff are so friendly, genuine and eager to ensure a relaxing time is had, restaurant and bar are set outside but under cover so always airy and relaxed with food, beverages and music all excellent, very flavoured and varied plus the hotel offers a cracking Bajan styled buffet lunch on Sundays. Definitely utilise the spa facilities - my better half and I opted for the couples massage which was so relaxing and the girls are excellent, very professional plus never rushed. There is a lovely area in which to sit out, a stunning swimming pool that is beautifully shaped into the rocks and garden that is never busy plus peacocks, green monkeys and hummingbirds mingle amongst the trees and flowers. A huge thanks to ALL the staff. Natalie, Nicole, Michelle and crew are so welcoming plus nothing is too much trouble. We will be back plus thoroughly recommend Sweetfield Manor as a location in which to relax, unwind and utilise as a base whilst enjoying this beautiful Island !!!!

La proprete: Tout etait vraiment impeccable. Le personnel: D une discrétion absolue et toujours à essayer de bien faire Le Manoir: Le charme de la vieille pierre. Jardin agréable avec de nombreux animaux. Le petit déjeuner : Large choix dans le menu Le bar: Les cocktails étaient tres bons et le barman tres gentil. Parking tres pratique Emplacement: Proche commerces et grands axes.

C etait très agréable de voir et d entendre les paons dans la journée mais peu reposant la nuit... La salle de bains manquait de lumière.

Quite far from everything

This is a tricky review to write as some things about Sweetfield Manor were very good but others were not. Firstly, the place advertises itself as a 5 star boutique hotel, boutique is correct, 5 star definitely not. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with an excellent shower room. However, the first thing that we were told when being shown to the room was that there were two small bottles of water which were complimentary but any further water would have to be bought - surely two small bottles of water a day is not too much to ask for given the price we paid. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions and, although the food was fine, there were many items on the menu that were "not available today". The staff were generally helpful and friendly although the barman on the first evening seemed to find serving us was an inconvenience. The buildings and grounds could certainly do with some major maintenance. It is obviously a heritage building but that doesn't excuse missing and broken spindles on the staircase and the exterior of the building needs refurbishing. The pool was lovely but again, the area around it looked unloved. There was a terrace just outside reception which had tables and parasols but no chairs so could not be used. This place could be really fabulous with some money and effort but I would not stay there again unless there was evidence of a major refurbishment. The peacocks however were fabulous!

Great historic boutique hotel. Quiet, reserved, professional. Peacocks are a treasure. Food is exceptional. It’s laid back and oozes charm but if I had anything to criticize the grounds could use a little TLC. We will be back.

This is a difficult one. The staff were wonderful, very polite and helpful. The room we had was lovely, well laid out, bed was very comfortable and the veranda was secluded. The bathroom was also very nice. The dinner was superb, promptly served and definitely enjoyed. The issues were: The breakfast was lovely, but took an inordinate amount of time to arrive, so much so that we ate breakfast elsewhere from day five. The exterior of the buildings, garden walls etc. were desperately in need of a lick of paint. The place looked shabby externally. We had the feeling that the place would have been stunning in its hayday, but now they are resting on their laurels. There are a lot of peacocks and plenty of pictures of them on here, so don't stay if you sleep light and don't like early mornings. On the other hand, they are stunning birds.

As some people have mentioned, it is sold as a 5* hotel on booking and that is not true. However, if you do book Sweetfield Manor you will not be dissapointed. we stayed in the Hummingbird room and it immediately felt like a home away from home. The room is nice and the big terrace with swing bed it super relaxing. Amenitites are ok although the shower can be cold if too many guests use it. The spa is amazing and the peacocks make it this dreamy location. I would definitely stay here again........The food it good but it can take time before it gets served. If you want the on point 5* experience then do not book but if you look for a really nice homely stay then this is for sure the place for you!

Location is not close to the beach or restaurants so a taxi is required but lovely view from the back garden.

It was very relaxing and as a short stay before a cruise it was perfect especially with all the beautiful peacocks!

Not a complete con. But you really need a car rental. Nothing really to do in walking distance. We knew that coming in. Our shower had a low pressure issue. Needs a better system.

Arrived to find out restaurant was closed and would be closed the following day as well. They gave no info regarding this in their communication. No real management.

We had a comfortable stay for 2 nights in the Flamboyant Room. The hotel was quirky and eccentric with lots of unique features and nice grounds where you'll see peacocks roaming around and get nice views of the city. The hotel is about 30 mins walk to the beach and a little further walk to get into the city; the hotel staff were very helpful with arranging taxis when we didn't want to walk. We used this hotel as a great base to explore Bridgetown and visit Oistins; it is also very convenient to get to the airport. Overall we had very enjoyable and comfortable stay here.

The room was lovely with a nice terrace and views, however it was a little tired - wardrobes difficult to open, no bathrobe/slippers, limited toiletries and water provided. It was still comfortable and we had all the essentials needed. Don't forget your insect repellent!!

Staff were excellent ! Loved Dwayne our mixologist and Jason our driver. Both were exceptional.

It is too far out of town. We were there for 4 days and our bedding wasn’t changed once. Taxis to town are expensive and you have to pay hotel for them. No restaurants or bars near had to get busses or taxis.
