Aqualuz Troia Rio by The Editory

This was my fourth stay at the Aqualuz. The hotel is perfect for me, and it is right in the middle of one of my favourite parts of the world to visit. I am there for work, so I have ideal access for where I need to be, in an extremely comfortable hotel, with spacious rooms and great facilities (including breakfast, the pool, and the bars/restaurants), and (the highlight) to have near-direct access to an incredibly beautiful beach. Staying at Aqualuz each year is one of my favourite things to do in life.

The suites are spacious, clean and well laid out. The communal areas are well maintained and clean too and it is an easy walk to the beach. The staff was friendly at all levels but had little information to offer (and no initiative to try to find answers or solutions) when asked questions. The breakfast seems to have received good reviews from other guests, but it was quite frankly very ordinary- most disappointingly, the "juice" was a weak artificial machine mix - strange for Portugal. A "double bed" consists of two single beds put together which is uncomfortable. There are of course solutions where two beds can be joined without a notable "crack" in the middle, but that doesn't seem to be something they worry about at this hotel. I also find it strange that the apartment suites didn't have bottle openers and wine glasses as default - again, this is Portugal... These might seem like small issues, but we expected better

The studio room was similar to the description given and the living space is quite spacious and renovated (bedroom and living room area). The kitchnette is well equipped. The toilet room was ok but could benefit from fixing some parts (e.g. the bathtub floor was rusty). The communication at the reception was not good, they gave no information regarding the restaurants, breakfast, activities for kids, etc. And that information is not available at the room or via the tv app so the first hours you will be a bit lost regarding what is available. There is a baby and a kids rooms with some activities. Breakfast has a good variety but at the latter hours the queues can be very long. Dinner has a good selection, but be aware that thr opening time is 19.30h which can be challenging with kids. The stay was ok but considering that it is a 4-star hotel and the price charged per night we were expecting much more.

Das Hotel ist insgesamt gut und die vier Sterne sind gerechtfertigt. Allerdings merkt man, dass es in die Jahre gekommen ist – die letzte Renovierung liegt wohl über 15 Jahre zurück, und ein Facelifting wäre inzwischen angebracht. Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet eine große Auswahl, allerdings ist das Angebot täglich identisch. Eine bessere Organisation der Platzvergabe am Morgen wäre wünschenswert, da es teilweise zu langen Wartezeiten kommt. Die Klimaanlage hat nur wenig gekühlt und war zudem recht laut. Trotz Meldung an der Rezeption und angeblicher Überprüfung konnten wir keine Verbesserung feststellen. Positiv hervorzuheben sind das freundliche, hilfsbereite Personal und die zentrale Lage – Strand, Streetfood-Stände und verschiedene Ladenlokale sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Der Pool ist groß, jedoch gibt es eher wenige Liegestühle, sodass es oft schwierig war, einen Platz zu finden. Fazit: Ein solides Hotel mit Stärken bei Lage und Service, aber auch mit klaren Modernisierungs- und Organisationspotenzialen.

Ótima localização , bom café da manhã , mas os quartos e banheiros necessitam de mais cuidados e melhor manutenção !!

Absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful hotel right on the beach. Would absolutely recommend and stay again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close walk to the beach and to the dock area with plenty of dining options and Casino. Indoor pool is a big plus for when weather isn’t ideal for outdoor pool and beach. My kids enjoyed the kids club child care for the adults to get a break. Breakfast buffet was fabulous. Can’t wait to return and stay here again.

Nice but dated

Check in malo. Sin ni gina indicación ni explicación del funcionamiento del hotel. Camas bastante incómodas, los colchones se hunden. Limpieza “minimalista” /mala pero diaria. “Tapan” las camas sin siquiera sacudir la arena. No aspiran ni limpian muebles… solo hacen los sanitarios. No te explican funcionamiento de la cocina ni piscina (se supone que lo has de leer tu en el menú de la TV) . El desayuno es de mediocre a malo. Cada día exactamente lo mismo de mediocre o mala calidad. Hay fruta fresca pero siempre la misma. Teníamos estropeado el desagüe del baño, el aspirador de la cocina y el teléfono. Nunca vinieron a arreglarlo. En general nada grave, pero para el precio que piden, no corresponde este servicio. Lo mejor: vistas maravillosas, localización muy practica y a pie de playa, grandes espacios en lobby y habitaciones y personal muy amable (aunque ineficiente)

It was probably a nice place to stay years ago but now it is old, not a good maintenance. The door under the sink in the bathroom really need to be replaced. Probably a nice place for family and kids but unfortunately not for us. I should read more about the description before booking. This is only my mistake.

Gostei do Hotel, vistas lindas, a piscina é grande, e pequeno almoço era bom; Pontos menos positivos: Ficamos meio dia sem energia no quarto. (Numa estadia de 3 noites) Referimos que o exaustor não funcionava e nada fizeram, sendo que ficava um cheiro de cozinhados por todo o quarto e roupa. Pequeno almoço sempre repetitivo. Poucas espreguiçadeiras, para tantos hóspedes, e terem situações de retirar os pertences das pessoas que tinham deixado na piscina.

Absolutely disappointing. The hotel property was advertised with wellness centre, pool, gym etc. however, it seemed to be all under maintenance at the same time. The condition of the indoor pool was absolutely filthy and unclean. Me and my partner had to travel to another hotel to use their swimming pool. No help from management. Staff at reception admitted pool had not been clean and poor management. Booked a massage and the masseuse never showed up on the agreed date, she then sent a text message saying she had to cancel last minute. This hotel has a lot of potential, unfortunately it does not meet the standards of a 4 star hotel. Very expensive stay for unusable facilities. Waste of money!

Fabulous place; peaceful and beautiful area, huge sandy beach with shallow water. Hotel has a lovely pool, its staff was very friendly spacious room with large terrace and amazing view. Fantastic breakfasts The only minus for me was lack of coffee/tea maker, I think hotel at this standard should provide it.

Dentro do expectável.

No geral foi agradável! No entanto o quarto precisa de ser remodelado, está um pouco estragado ao nível do pavimento e mobiliário da sala! Poucas espreguiçadeiras na piscina! Mas é para repetir!!

Good for families

Na chegada não foi comunicado o que tinha para oferecer de instalações e de refeições. Estadia sem agua quente onde existiu comunicação com a recepção e foi prometido que o problema estava resolvido no dia anterior a noite. Fomos obrigados a dar a bebé com agua aquecida em cafeteira. Dia seguinte o problema persistiu. Casa de banho em mau estado. Camas extremamente desconfortareis.

Très déçue de la qualité de l’hôtel. Chambres vieillottes, ménage fait à la va vite. Besoin d’un grand rafraîchissement. Pas digne d’un 4*. Équipements en panne comme le sauna, jacuzzi, etc. Très cher pour la qualité de l’hôtel. Seul point fort la gentillesse des animateurs.

Localização excelente perto da praia e Marina.Muito bom para famílias,animação na piscina espetacular,os animadores são muito simpaticos e têm muito jeito para lidarem com crianças...

Melhorar a limpeza nos quartos e o ginásio que falta espaço e equipamentos

an excellent place, but a lot of kids, the people at the lobby very thoughtful, especially Raquel.

Super région à découvrir. Studio spacieux bien que nécessitant de une petite rénovation et isolation phonique plus efficace tout y était pour passer un bon séjour. Petit déjeuner copieux.

A localização do Hotel é muito boa, próxima da praia e do acesso fluvial para Setúbal. O hotel tem um ótimo potencial mas precisa de uma renovação dos apartamentos.

Fim de semana relaxante e para repetir. Hotel com boas infra-estruturas para férias em família e junto à praia.

Hôtel très bien situé avec restaurants et piscines, magnifique plage à proximité accessible avec ponton. Les animateurs du kids club sont très bien! Parfait pour des vacances en famille.

In generale ok. Letti in tutte le camere separati anche se prenotati una camera matrimoniale. Piscina affollata con bambini e non molto curata. Servizio mediano.

O Hotem é muito bom e tem um excelente spa contudo com tanta gente a utilizar em simultâneo não se consegue aproveitar para relaxar porque o barulho é muito. Deveria haver mais regras e horários definidos para um número máximo de pessoas em simultâneo.

A estadia foi agradável, porém, As paredes são ocas, ouve-se tudo dos outros apartamentos inclusive as pessoas a puxar o autoclismo.

The property infrastructures are very used and not so much clean. In term is restaurants the capacity is not porpotional to the needs. Food was not enough at dinner. The breakfast needed to wait to get a seat and the lack of options for a 4 star hotel.

Gostei muito de tudo, desde a localização, limpeza, conforto do apartamento e disponibilidade dos funcionários.

As instalações São óptimas, o conforto do quarto, da sala de estar, a cozinha equipada permite fazer refeições . Adorei mesmo!! Pequeno Almoço divinal, tudo incluído. Simpatia dos funcionários No geral foi tudo muito BOM.

Hôtel 4 étoiles de l extérieur oui mais les chambres non besoin d’un grand rafraîchissement. Lumière en panne dans notre chambre . Bruit du vent quand les portes du balcon sont fermés gros sifflement permanent . Oublie de papiers toilettes après le ménage.Taches murs dans la salle de bain.

Great location and hotel. Entertainers in the Kids Club are the best ever!

Service, qualität des essens und preisleistung ist nicht gut!

Das Hotel ist in Ordnung, jedoch leider teilweise mit Abstrichen. Mit Sauberkeit wird es beim Reinigen nicht ganz so Ernst genommen. Im Poolbereich gab es einige Schäden, die repariert werden müssen. Das Frühstück war leider nicht gut und immer überfüllt. Toll wRen der Ausblick auf das Meer.

Schön große Suite mit wunderbaren Ausblick. Die Gegend ist sehr ruhig und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Schöne Hotelanlage und sehr guter Services beim Frühstück und Abendessen. Gefehlt hat uns eine Übersicht der Angebote. Bei Nachfragen waren die Informationen an der Rezeption ungenügend.

Fabuloso complejo (especialmente para familias), muchísimas actividades para peques, perfecta ubicación, vistas magníficas... Ojo! En los apartamentos sólo hacen las camas!

Na reserva tinha solicitado cama de casal e fiquei num quarto com camas separadas. Móveis um pouco descuidados. Alcatifa com muitas nódoas. Jantar com EXCELENTE comida, muito barulho, pois estava uma equipa de futebol. Deveriam ter tido esse cuidado para não incomodar clientes. Bom pequeno almoço.

Pessoal da recepção muito bem, mas empregados de bar muito inexperientes. Desistimos de consumir esse tipo de serviços. Ervas junto da piscina com ortigas e picos que impossibilitam a sua utilização. Apartamento e espaço muito bom, bem como piscinas e restantes infra-estruturas.

El hotel fenomenal. La piscina interior necesita renovación. El servicio discreto pero correcto. el entorno está bien aunque faltan servicios de supermercado. El resto muy bien

Excelente Hotel, simpatia dos funcionários, apartamentos amplos e limpos com vistas fantásticas.

No geral foi bom. No entanto, registo a falta de roupão para a zona de piscina, a temperatura da água na piscina era mais para o frio tal como a temperatura ambiente na zona da piscina. A qualidade da imagem nas televisões deixa muito a desejar. De resto, muito conforto, limpeza excelente comida. Atendimento muito profissional mas simpático.

The hotel has no double bed, the guests have to manage to move the furniture, if you want join the beds. The room furniture has poor quality. The hotel has no staff to help with the luggage. No free parking around the hotel. Breakfast is nice.

Foi uma experiência agradável, em família. Hotel muito adequado a crianças, com muitas actividades e espaços para crianças. No entanto, tendo em conta o preço, tem aspectos que podiam ser melhorados. Grande desvantagem: não tem estacionamento, e a zona envolvente do Hotel é uma zona muito difícil de estacionar.

Suite w/ 1 bdr provided enough space for us (and enough crawling opportunity to our toddler). Beach is really close, good 0-3 yrs playroom, four pools (the external ones are chilly before noon). If I could rebook then would not choose the breakfast option (as it is pretty mediocre), rather buy quality ingredients at the supermercado (5 mins walking distance) and prepared by myself. A pool bar would be good (now you have to go in from the pools to the a/c-ed lobby). Staff was really helpful (and although due to the young age of our kids we not really could use the service of the animators, they seemed to be great).

Fuimos en familia y estuvimos en una apartamento. Estuvimos muy a gusto. Los niños disfrutaron muchísimo, sobre todo de las piscinas y del equipo de animación, grupo majísimo con el que lo pasamos muy bien todos, los niños estaban deseando ir al club,no hay mejor señal. La playa cerca y el entorno maravilloso. Un poco caro el supermercado. Pensábamos que el no tener una población cerca nos iba a condicionar, pero al final no echamos nada de menos porque estábamos supertranquilos y relajados en el hotel.

Bra resorthotell för de som bara vill ha bad och avkoppling. Bra att det finns inomhuspool, utomhuspool och Atlanten som badalternativ. Vänlig och hjälpsam personal. Utöver sol och bad finns dock inte mycket att göra i Troia.

Servicekvaliteten var elendig og dårlig engelsk. Virket som om du var turist i fra andre land så gjir vi blaffen i deg. Vi annstrenger oss ikkje for du skall ha det bra Renholdet var ikkje bra på rommene! Hotell frokosten var ikkje de enn kan skryte av. Hotell sengene var forferdelig! Hotelle hadde bra beliggen het og greie rom/altan. Vi følte oss rett og slett ikkje velkommen der

O quarto escolhido foide encontro às expectativas, no entanto a área da restauração do hotel deixa muito a desejar, principalmente no jantar...pouco oferta, pouca variedade, fraca qualidade das refeições, a fazer lembrar a comida servida nos aviões.

Mooi, schoon appartement met prachtig uitzicht. Uitgebreid ontbijt. Bij vragen direct geholpen.

É um Hotel agradável para familias. Possui sempre diversão para as crianças através do kuds club.Boa localização e muitas comodidades para um hotel de 4*.Recomendo.Boa area de piscina interior.

Visited off season so the local area was very quiet and little was open. Hotel and indoor pool were great for just a few day relaxing away from the crowds. Staff were a little grumpy. WiFi was terrible and unusable.

Poor customer service at checking in, staff poorly trained. Large rooms, great view!!!! but with terrible mattresses...very outdated. Restaurant with good service but poor quality in food. Poor selection (only two dishes available). Even off season a 4 star hotel should be two steps up from a 2 star hotel

foi um fim de semana muito bom , as aguas do mar estavam muito frias mas como o hotel tem uma piscina interior grande pelos menos 30 metros , passamos o tempo quase todo lá. muito sossegado nas zonas envolventes , a repetir novamente

Lo mejor del hotel la animación infantil . Gran equipo de profesionales (Claudia,Pedro, Diogo...) Gracias ! Lo peor la espera a la llegada para la entrega de la habitación ,aunque nos compensaron con una noche gratis Otra queja ...no sólo hay gente francesa hospedada en el hotel ...el resto de nacionalidades también nos gustaría una atención cómo la de ellos !! Alguna habitación necesita una pequeña reforma

Nice 4* hotel close to sea!

Férias em família, onde ficamos positivamente surpreendidos com a nossa estadia. Instalações e staff excelente. Nota negativa pra buffet do jantar.

Chegamos cansados de viagem e fizemos o check-in as 22hrs. Não havia como pedir comida no restaurante, então pedimos lanches no bar. Quinze minutos depois do pedido, fomos informados que NAO HAVIA PAO! Foi so a primeira decepção. Seguem as demais: - as piscinas fecham as 21hrs; - as piscinas internas ESTAVAM FRIAS; - as saunas são extremamente pequenas, o que torna a experiência desagradavel; - as toalhas de banho não cheiravam bem; - o cafe da manha e' decepcionante, com pouca variedade, produtos de baixa qualidade e frutas não maduras; - a ducha não proporciona conforto: pequena, com vazão reduzida e box parcial; - carpete dos corredores sujos, trazendo aspecto ruim; - camas razoáveis.

Hotel muito bom para famílias com crianças. Staff acolhedor. Atenção à redes wi fi porque é de difícil e alguns colchões estão a precisar de ser substituidos. Troia na época baixa é menos confusão mas oferta de restauração é muito reduzida e incompleta.

estava a espera de um pouco mais...

Pequeno almoço a baixo das expectativas para um hotel de 4 estrelas. Jacuzzi pequeno... Temperatura da piscina baixa. No entanto, o aparatamento era espaçoso e com uma vista bonita.

Alles in allem gutes Hotel. Negativ: Bei meinem Aufenthalt wurde Hotelfoyer und Bar nicht geheizt, deshalb permanent frierende Gäste.

Rooms are nice and very spacious, everything within walking distance.

If you dont have a child, dont stay here. All the hotel is full of entertainment such as swimming pool, sauna, gym, etc. But you cant use because kids are everywhere playing, yelling and running all over the place. If you want some peace, be away from this hotel.

Nice condo hotel, but not a 5 star. OK views. Average furnishings in living room, but terrible in bedroom - two twin beds pushed together to form a king, but not with king sheets. No coffee maker in room. No washer/drier. Limited cooking utensils. Hotel is dead in the off-season and limited entertainment unless you are in one of their all-inclusive French groups. Wouldn't go back.

The only thing; During the night need same place to get a bottle of water

I have spent 7 days in this hotel and I have to say that just after 3 I wanted to go back home. Internet is just a joke. They say it is provided in your room, this is a lie. You can say you should not need internet on holiday, well this is false as you need it to find a restaurant, to look for something to visit around or even to read the news in your language, as only Portuguese newspaper are available here. Internet was decent only in the hall of the hotel. But that s nothing, I was expecting to have a relaxing holiday, and that s not really the case. And it s unbelievable to think that this was due to the poor choices of management. Two main points: a) They decided to organise some daily courses (Zumba, acquatic courses, etc) for which every day very loud music was put on for 2-3 hours (it bothered me and I was on the 5th floor). b) They decided to call a company to cut the lawn around the pool. It s ok. In general, but was it necessary to do it from 9 o’clock in the morning to 14 ?? And still in high season. For a place that is charging the amount of money they charge per day I would expect much better management. In addition the hotel is overcrowded, it was the last week of summer and no sunbeds were available, with at least 30 people lying on the lawn. They will never see me again.

Booked this hotel to have a quiet weekend. It was perfect for that. Perhaps a little too quiet as there was only one restaurant to eat at however it was excellent. The breakfast buffet was very average.

Just spotless. I did not check restaurants as we had a Kitchen and a well furnished supermarket 200mt away :)

Quite a nice and modern hotel with a contemporary feel throughout.

There was no a la carte menu and when the restaurant was opened which was pot luck it was a fixed price limited menu Very limited activities in area Good for visiting Setubal and Sesimbra using ferries

everithing ok, just avoid thehotel buffet dinner which is expensive for what they offer.The breakfast included in the rate is fine.
