The Lamai Samui

It was the highlight of my trip to Koh Samui. The resort is perfect I loved everything about it.

Sehr schön und gepflegt unsere Strandvilla war ein traum. Das Personal ist so toll und hilfsbereit, wir haben uns einfach nur wohlgefühlt.

Es war alles top nur das Frühstück dürfte abwechslungsreicher sein, ansonsten haben wir nichts zu bemängeln.

מלון מדהים, מי שרוצה להרגיש את תאילנד ולראות נופים ולהנות זה המקום! בריכה, נופים, גישה לים ואווירה טובה. קודם כל צוות האבטחה, הם הפנים הראשונות שאתה רואה כשאתה מגיע למלון. צוות מצויין שמחפש לעזור, מכווין ומחפש לעזור ונותנים ראש שקט כשהם שם (אם תגיעו ברכב תבינו על מה אני מדבר). הצוות בבריכה ובמסעדה מדהימים ומסבירי פנים, הבר על המים קונספט מאוד נחמד.

המחירים במלון נורא יקרים ביחס לקוסמוי, קוקוס באי לדוגמה עולה 40 באט ובמלון עלה לי 250 באט בערך. מסאג 3000 באט שבחנות ליד עולה 300. לא היה שקע ליד המיטה - היה צריך להזיז את הארון כדי להטעין שזה משהו מאוד זול להוסיף נקודת חשמל ועושה הבדל עצום. הכיור רחוק מידי מאיפה שאתה עומד, לא כל כל נוח. לוקח שעות למלא את האמבטיה.

Le personnel très attentionné. Les chambres sont jolies mais très peu de lumière une fois la nuit tombée. La terrasse des chambres est très sympa. Le calme des lieux est agréable.

Nous avons été très surpris par le petit dej qui est très très limité pas digne d’un 5 étoiles. Pain congelé, viennoiseries industrielles, des mouches rôdent autour de l’espace petit déjeuner. Vraiment décevant. Il n’y a pas de cafetière dans les chambres, grande déception pour les amoureux de café. Le restaurant de l’hôtel n’est pas fameux mais les prix sont correctes. Il y a des restaurants autour de l’hôtel. La piscine principale n’est pas assez entretenue. Plage moyenne, loin du centre ville et de l’animation.

Nichts ! Wenn man nach einem langen Flug abends durch einen Hinterhof über eine einfache Treppe in einen Hoteleingang eines in die Jahre gekommen Gebäudes geführt wird, auf dreckigen Stühlen an einer Rezeption platz nimmt, die ihren Namen nicht verdient, dann in ein kleines dunkles Zimmer kommt, das als Suite gebucht wurde, und der nächster Nachbar direkt gegenüber, nur durch einen Pool getrennt in die Räumlichkeiten schaut, dann erinnert es eher an ein Hostel und man fragt sich, wer hier die 5 Sterne vergeben hat. und wofür ich fast 10.000 € bezahlt habe. Ich bin sofort wieder ausgezogen, und meine Bitte auf Rückerstattung wenigstens eines Teilbetrages hat der Manager tatsächlich nur ein Abendessen angeboten. Ich Reise sehr viel, aber so eine Abzocke habe ich noch nie erlebt.

Just becaue we got the top room, it was very good ($$$) with private pool, ocean view and comfort. We did not use the large pool but was beatiful.

A drink a the local bar was excessively expensive also with the uncommon addition of service and VAT. The bed was not comfortable because the sheets were a bit worn out and a bit damp. Other than that all fine

מאוד מומלץ לזוגות ולאלו שמחפשים רוגע ושקט. השירות היה מאוד מאוד מוקפד והצוות נתן הרגשה טובה לאורך כל השהות שלנו. לקחנו חדר עם בריכה צמודה ונוף לים עבור 5 נפשות (אופציה פחות נוחה ל 5 נפשות, עם שירותים אחד...) 25 דקות הליכה לשוק למאי קטן, אותנטי ומאוד מומלץ.

החדר שבחרנו היה מושלם והתאים לכל המשפחה, הצוות מדהים, המיקום אחלה, ממש מרגיש שמגיעים לגן עדן, מאוד שקט. לילדים פחות יש תעסוקה.

חסר בו שולחן, ותאורה בחושך בתוך הוילה. מכיוון שזה חדר מפנק בעיקר שהינו בוילה ולכן חשוב שיהיה שולחן וכסאות.

La maison est super mais attention les avions passent vraiment trop prêts !

Je n’ai pas apprécié qu’aucune information relative aux marées ne soit communiquée. Aucun accès à la plage pendant tout le séjour. Pas possible d’utiliser les kayaks et même petit déjeuner pendant 9jours aucune diversification.

The hotel is amazing, we had an absolutely wonderful stay, and a huge part of that was thanks to Leo, the front desk manager. From the moment we met him, he went above and beyond to find us a quick, effective solution to an issue we were having. He was incredibly kind, professional, welcoming, and genuinely pleasant. Meeting Leo literally changed our entire stay for the better. His outstanding service and positive attitude made us feel truly cared for and valued as guests. People like him make a real difference in hospitality. Thank you so much, Leo, for everything!

היתושים, והאוכל של המסעדה לא היה תואם לרמת המלון כל כך לדעתי.

מלון יפה מאוד, חדר מרווח עם גישה לבריכה שכונתית, צוות מאיר פנים וניקוי יומי מוקפד של החדר. בריכת האינפיניטי של המלון נעימה במיוחד וכייף לשבת לידה ולצפות על החוף בכל שעות היום.

ארוחת הבוקר יכולה להיות מגוונת יותר וכן האוכל בבר הבריכה.

Great place only the beach is rocky. For swimming in the sea you need to visit Lamai Beach

Sobretot, el personal! La piscina compartida de l’habitació és molt agradable i dona una sensació molt xula des de l’habitació. La zona de la piscina gran es molt agradable i la platja és molt maca.

Una mica més d’espai a les zones comuns hagués estat bé. Estan ampliant l’hotel i aixo feia que hi hahues soroll durant el dia quan haguessim volgut relaxar mes.

I’m back in Samui after more than a decade. I used to stay at Chaweng Beach, but this is my first time staying in the Lamai area. A beachfront hotel offering a good level of privacy, featuring a pool right by the beach. The weather is pleasant with strong sunshine and beautiful skies; at sunset, the changing colors of the sky create a romantic atmosphere. The hotel also offers rooms with direct access to the large indoor pool, but this time we stayed in a room featuring a private whirlpool tub and an open-air, Balinese-style bathroom. I like to relax with in this pool after long day, the water bubble to release my back pain. The hotel isn't large, but it is lush and shady, with tropical trees lining the walkways. The menu features both Thai and Western dishes. Among the Thai options, I really liked the duck Khao Soi. For breakfast, there was a wide variety of fruit, as well as rice soup with onsen eggs and scrambled eggs. I also enjoyed the French toast, and the fried tofu with teriyaki sauce was delicious—though I can't recall the exact name of the dish for dessert I try Mango Sticky Rice. Staff are very friendly and supportive. There are convenience stores, coffee shops, and a beach with a walkable stretch nearby. A shuttle service to Central is also available. Next time, I’d like to try staying in a beachfront pool villa.

Service mit dem Kaffe eher langsam. Zimmer waren gut, Mückennetze über den Betten wären hilfreich. Waren sehr enttäuscht vom Steg, der sah alt aus und man konnte dort nichts trinken, sah auf der Homepage anders aus. Ebenso sind die Liegen nicht so wie auf den Bildern. Die Essens-Portionen sind sehr klein. Der Strand und die dazugehörigen Liegen sind nicht schön, keine Sonnenschirme.

J’ai aimé la déco du jardin dans la villa pavillon, le personnel très agréable. Une cuisine du midi et du soir de qualité

Ayant payé un séjour à plus de 5000€ mon séjour avec un hôtel 5 étoiles. Il n’est pas concevable de ne pas avoir des matelas sur les transats de la grande piscine, mettre des chaises en plastique de jardin , pour le restaurant, laisser les tables et chaises sur le ponton de cette façon le matin alors que les clients déjeune face a la mer ce n’est pas professionnel, soit on les range soit on les tire s’il n’y a pas d’événement. En fait pour le prix que j’ai payé, je pensais avant tout vivre un expérience pas juste les fonctionnalités standard d’un hôtel. Et aussi le petit déjeuner manque cruellement de choix. Soit tu pain, des fruits, des œufs, ou des pâtes thaï.

The Lamai Samui has a really nice and relaxing atmosphere with lots of greenery around the hotel. The Plate is one of the restaurants there, with a beautiful sea view and a great place to enjoy a meal. They also have different types of rooms, and each one has its own unique design and style. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Overall, it’s a nice place to relax and enjoy your stay in Samui.

Das Zimmer wurde regelmäßig gereinigt. das Zimmer mit Poolzugang war ein Traum. Personal war sehr höfflich und hilfsbereit.

Der Strand bei der Hotelanlage war nicht so wie auf den Bildern. Das Frühstücksbuffet hätte besser sein können.

Great service, really attentive staff. Discreet but go out of their way to help you when needed. Excellent facilities. Food really good.

אהבנו הכל,לקחנו חדר עם בריכה ענקית ,קו ראשון לים,רמת שירות של הצוות ברמה הכי גבוהה, מלון יפה ומסודר. ארוחת בוקר פנטסטית. צריך לשים לב שאזור החוף לא כמו בצוואנג,הרבה פחות מושך ויפה,למשפחות חובה לקחת חדר עם בריכה פרטית ולעשות בטן גב כמה ימים.מרחק הליכה מסילבר ביץ,חוף אחד מלהיבים בססמוי.

Incredible staff and incredible property! Beautifully landscaped. Rooms were very nice and spacious. Bathrooms (toilet and shower) were outside which I thought would be uncomfortable but it was actually fine - just something to note. Breakfast and the restaurant menu was also really great!

Sadly, while we were there, there was construction of the restaurant which disrupted the pool area. However, i can imagine it is lovely when that’s not going on. The beach isn’t very nice at the hotel - the Lamai beach down the shore becomes much nice and you can easily walk / motorbike over to some beach clubs that are much prettier than the beach at the hotel.

The property was perfect! It’s on the smaller side which we don’t usually stay at but I absolutely loved it! They pay so much attention to detail. From the room and the mini bar to the property.

Lyxigt. Lyxkänsla nästa var man än vänder sig i hotellet. Vi bodde i en ocean front pool villa. Den hade allt och lite till. Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam personal.

Finns egentligen inget vi inte gillade men om man ska nämna något så går det tyvärr inte att bada vid stranden. Det har hotellet dock löst med gratis transfer till och från Lamai beach men det drar ändå ner lite. Hotellet ligger i utkanten av Lamai vilket gör att man är ganska beroende av taxi om man inte är beredd att gå någon kilometer

We did get an upgrade for the room but I think mostly it was because the hotel overbook the type of room we choosed at first. Localisation seems ok

There was renovation next to the main swimming pool so you either doesn't have much deckchair in the shade. The one that have more shade are very loud from the construction/renovation next to it. It wasn't mentionned from the hotel before booking or at arrival. I've attached a photo with the white wall from the construction. It is more expensive to book the resort shuttle car from airport than to take a grab. Would have been nice to have the free shuttle with the price we already overpaid from the 5 nights we did there. Room was a bit noisy because behind our room, I think there was a storage for cleaning workers and we heard a lot of movements and cleaning trolley. The bedroom was bit small from what I expected and used to have in comparaison of all resorts I did in the past all around Asia. Breakfast wasn't that great. I had better breakfast sandwich from the coffee shop next to the hotel. Last of all, pool view from the room is great until there's an old guy or children swimming in front of your window that your bed is facing.

The villa with the private pool is gorgeous. The food in the restaurant is tasty. The breakfast is varied and most staff, particularly Biggie, were wonderful and welcoming. The cleaning staff are very hardworking and lovely. The cooking class is well worth a try. The spa is stellar and the massages, whilst not standard Thai prices, are standout. Decent small gym.

The location is a little out of town. You can walk it but a taxi is more comfortable. The restaurant becomes a different place after breakfast service finishes. Some members of staff do not seem to be hospitality trained and many were out of their depth. There were multiple evenings where drinks were forgotten and orders were mixed up. This is all forgivable if the staff are polite, unfortunately that wasn’t always the case. We have been travelling for 4 months now staying in many hotels and of the places we’ve stayed we felt the Lamai had the most unrealised potential. The front desk and the restaurant needed more managerial presence and at present the cost doesn’t match the quality of service on offer.

Resort and our room at a top level - location - staff - breakfast

Large room, beautiful main pool and beach. It was also very nice and quiet without a lot of people. The hotel itself is beautiful and staff are very attentive. We came here for part of our honeymoon and I would recommend it for couples who don't really want a buzz and only want relaxation and early nights.

We had a room with a pool and the pool water is not filtered and so it attracts alot of mosquitoes outside in and around the stagnant water. As the shower and toilet are outside without a door or windows, this meant we got eaten alive in the bathroom. The staff tried their very best to control this with insect repellent and smokey incense but we still got covered in bites. The food in the restaurant was nice but quite expensive for what it was. The breakfast has options but not as many and other hotels we've been to. There was no evening entertainment or a "buzz" in the hotel either in the day time or evening which I did miss. Similarly there is not much within walking distance of the hotel so we had to get taxis everywhere or stay at our villa.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was exceptionally clean and overall very beautiful, which made it easy to feel comfortable right away. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with great attention to detail.

What I didn’t like as much was the breakfast selection. The options were quite limited and more or less the same every day, including the same three types of fruit. There was also a small menu you could order from, but overall I expected a bit more variety. Unfortunately, the air conditioning in the room also didn’t work properly, so I ended up sleeping in a warm room for the entire week.

Accommodation was brilliant, food lovely, staff / service professional and kind. The reason for 4 stars was the beach Wasn't the best to swim in. Pool was awesome

Most friendly staff! We stayed in a pool access suite and it was magical. Felt like we had our our own private pool even though it was shared with 8 other suites.

Beach and sea …it isn’t swimmable and to walk on the beach you surely need sea shoes.

We stayed at The Lamai Samui with high expectations, especially since my husband had visited about 10 years ago when it was still Le Méridien and remembered it as a true 5-star experience. While our private villa was lovely and definitely the highlight of our stay, the overall property felt quite dated. Maintenance could be improved—particularly noticeable in areas like the roofs, which didn’t feel well kept. Service, while polite, lacked the personal touch you’d expect from a 5-star resort and the personal presence of the GM. It was the little things that made the difference—especially traveling with a 4-year-old. There were no special touches specially since we stayed there for a week, or activities during Easter, and my husband recalled thoughtful experiences from before (like a lantern ceremony) that are no longer offered. The beach also wasn’t swimmable during our stay, and there were no loungers on the sand or children’s beach toys—something we’ve come to expect from similar resorts. Breakfast was decent but became repetitive over the course of a week. Overall, while we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the villa, it didn’t quite live up to the 5-star standard we were expecting.

We personally didn't mind it, and the noise levels were fine for us. ​Facilities: If you are looking for a massive resort with endless facilities, this might not be your first choice. However, for a private villa experience, it is top-tier. ​Summary: Fair price, amazing vibes, and the best villa we’ve stayed in. We would definitely come back!

The staff were superb, and the beachside location is wonderful. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. And happy hour/sundowner cocktails on the pontoon sublime.

Can't fault anything. Really was a fantastically comfortable and pampering place for a long weekend away form the hurly burly of Singapore!

Amazing experience, I travelled here with my wife for our honeymoon and the whole stay was perfect. What I loved the most was the staff, very polite and helpful and that made our overall stay worthy and definitely we would like to come back.

During breakfasts the attention of the staff was somehow chaotic, which means sometimes we would not get attended quickly, would not get what we ordered ot would get something we didn’t order. I think additonal staff or a different arrangement in the way the tables were attended would improve the service. Besides this minor issues at breaksfast the rest was lovely and amazing.

C’est un très bel hôtel avec un parking surveillé, le petit déjeuner est très bien, le personnel est très avenant et disponible. La grande piscine de l’hôtel est magnifique. Nous avons toujours eu des transats, il n’y a pas de stress sur ce point, la plage est juste après la piscine, nous avions une suite avec piscine privée, c’était un petit paradis.

Un petit détail sur la suite avec piscine privée, la salle de bain ainsi que les toilettes sont à l’extérieur de la chambre, mais dans la partie privative, il n’y a pas de vis à vis donc pas de soucis pour l’intimité, mais ça aurait été plus agréable d’avoir au moins les toilettes à l’intérieur, notamment pour la nuit.

The hotel is very well maintained and the grounds are lovely. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. It gives the feeling of being secluded whilst being a short walk from the town centre.

Needs more staff on , not that resort feel . Staff were run off there feet at pool bar only one staff at on at any time . They were great but needed more staff all around resort . But staff that were on did an amazing job and should be rewarded so great at their job . Very quiet resort , and renovation going in at pool area they did not mention that . Cashless resort , so can we not bill to room .

Room was good. Staff were lovely. Location is very nice. They were no fuss at all and I would stay here again.

Bathroom outside in the open was a bit odd. Luckily I'm not shy. The food from the restaurant was a bit pricey and wasn't really worth it, but it was a convenient option if you didnt feel like going down the road.

The property is tropical and beautiful, it really feels like paradise. The grounds staff are always maintaining the grounds and the rooms and facilities are clean and well equipped.

Tout était parfait du début à la fin. L'hôtel est juste exceptionnel dans son intégralité. Le personnel aux petits soins sans arrêt.

La nourriture était moyenne ; je n'ai pas vraiment trouvé des plats qui m'ont plus. La partie restauration doit-être améliorée. Il manque des activités nautiques.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit freundlichen Mitarbeitern . Tolle Lage ein besonders Dankeschön für ein Upgrade auf ein Zimmer mit direktem poolzugang was wirklich toll war. Frühstück war auch sehr gut abwechslungsreich. Einziger Kritikpunkt wie von vielen hier angemerkt die Kaffeeversorgung beim Frühstück. Wäre eigentlich sehr einfach zu beheben weil doch sehr oft kritisiert. Ingesamt ein tolles und empfehlenswertes Hotel. In einem wunderschön gepflegten Garten. Leider im Moment mit störender Baustelle aber die ist Ja irgendwann Geschichte. Danke für einen entspannten und sehr schönen Aufenthalt.

We inadvertently ended up staying at the Lamai given that the original hotel that we’d booked was so bad we had to move quickly. But, we lucked out with the Lamai. The staff, management, quality and cleanliness were exemplary. Sure, there’s some construction work going on currently but it’s easy to dial out of that. We couldn’t have been looked after any better. The hotel is at the far end of a 2-mile stretch of beach (at the best end of it), which is calm and relaxing. Wake up around 6, go and watch the sunrise from the beach, have a walk, go back for breakfast and then relax by the pool. Again, I can’t praise the staff enough for their kindness, consideration and attentiveness. It’s a place that, well, meets your expectations.

We checked out after one night instead of staying for the longer visit we had planned. We were really looking forward to a relaxing stay at The Lamai, but ongoing construction next to the pool made that impossible. Before booking a couple of weeks ago, we noticed reviews mentioning construction and contacted the hotel in advance to ask about potential noise. We were reassured that it would not affect our stay. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. On our first morning, we went to the pool for a swim and found that all the sunbeds were already claimed, even though no guests were using them. While the hotel has a sign about reserving beds, it was not enforced. In addition, the noise from the nearby construction was constant and disruptive, which made it difficult to relax — not what you expect when planning a quiet beach holiday

חלק מהמבנים קצת מיושנים יש חדרים שבחלקם המקלחת אינה מקורה כלל- חשוב לציין זאת בעת ההזמנה. מי שמזמין חדר רגיל - ולא חדר עם בריכה חשוב לשים לב.

The hotel itself is beautiful and immaculately serviced and maintained, and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. Lovely breakfast. Restaurant ok but there's so much good food in Lamai, we only used it once in a 10 day stay.

It's just unacceptable for hotels in this league not to have sufficient sunbeds for guests wanting to use the pool. It drives the even worse behaviour of guests bagging beds with towels at breakfast and making the shortage even worse. There's not even a beach alternative as what little sand there is disappears completely when the tide comes in. A real shame, as the rest of the place is very comfortable and relaxing.

You can tell it was built originally to a decent spec. The rooms are a good size.

Had a very bad experience with the staff, who seem like they don’t want to be there. Ultimately probably a management issue. Some very unfortunate and chaotic service issues. Also the rooms are tired and level of maintenance not great.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im The Lamai Samui. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist traumhaft und perfekt zum Entspannen. Die Zimmer waren sauber und komfortabel, und das Personal war außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Der einzige kleine Punkt ist, dass beim Frühstück etwas mehr Auswahl schön gewesen wäre und der Frühstücksraum etwas zu klein war, um es wirklich perfekt zu machen.

Problème avec les locations de moto chambre mal isolé jusqu’à qu’une chambre voisine se plaigne car je parlais dans la chambre. Aucune intimité. J’ai commandé un bouquet de fleurs vendu par l’hôtel 10 fois son prix.

Lots of mosquitoes, probably due to the personal pool. Would recommend more spraying of the rooms prior to check-ins
