From the beautiful surroundings - the cool earthy vibe - one with nature - such helpful and friendly staff - what wasn’t to like?
That we couldn’t stay longer!!!
We were upgraded from the basic cabin to a 2 bedroom family cabin which was perfect. Restaurants and facilities were superb, location was perfect. Cannot fault the place
Nothing - we liked everything.
We loved it here, everything was lovely - the staff, the lodge - just great.
N/A
Beautiful location and great atmosphere with lots of things to do on property. Really nice restaurant and coffee bar. The pool was stunning and the room was spacious.
WiFi was not very stable and it was a bit far from Yosemite valley (1 hour by car)
Cleanness, politness, no waiting, to waste of time...
Beautiful place and great stay
Room smaller than it seems in the pictures, basically there is room for a bed and not much more...
Super Lage, tolle Hütten, sehr gutes Essen. Alles top.
Food and staff were excellent
Some issues with plumbing in our room….sink and toilet.
Dinner at the restaurant and breakfast from the store were both good, and the s'mores were a bonus! Also, great hot tub.
No complaints.
It was clean and had good amenities
The electricity in the cabin kept tripping and had to go to reception 3 times within an hour!
Rien
Great location to visit Yosemite if you don’t want to stay in the park itself. Really well thought out and some nice touches like the sunset deck
The location, the surrounding scenery, the unforgettable star-filled sky, the fun BBQ right at the pool, the well maintained site and the beautiful tents with real comfortable beds was amazing. What made our experience beyond exceptional was the team working at Evergreen Lodge. The manager Tom helped me upgrade parts of our stay to a cabin without any hassle. I not only recommend the Evergreens location to anyone interested I know we will return to enjoy once again the truly most beautiful nature setting.
EV charging and WiFi is challenging since there is only one Level 1 charger and WiFi is very spotty.
Sehr nette Mitarbeiter, toller Poolbereich, sehr gute Lage zu Yosemite! Sehr gutes Restaurant‘
The staff were lovely, the lodge was perfect, peaceful and had a great night sleep. Ideal location for Yosemite.
The atmosphere is beautiful and they offer a lot of amenities. Fire pits for roasting marshmallows, Bocce Ball, a beautiful pool and a great restaurant/bar.
Beautiful setting and great accommodations. Each cabin has AC and heating. Lots of open space and playgrounds for the kids. Close to the Hetch Hetchy entrance to Yosemite. Nice pool and free smores in the summer.
A beautiful location with an excellent event staff. We would highly recommend anyone planning an upcoming celebration to consider booking with the Evergreen Lodge! We had a wonderful experience.
When we arrived we found the cabin layout did not have a wall separating the layout. The staff found us a 2BR cabin that was perfect at no additional cost.
1. The cabin is in the forest…wonderful, but it was a very long country road to get there, wish we had been informed, Then on this country road. Few signs every few miles to let us know to continue down the road. 2. A very long way off the beaten track. 3. Restaurant doesn’t change, How about having a couple different items each day? 4, Shower valve was extremely difficult to open. Was not repaired the day reported. 5. No cell service there and surrounding area. If we had known…we would have done things to accommodate better.
Das Feeling auf dem Gelände ist einzigartig.
Doch etwas abseits gelegen.
Place is in a great location offers big bariety kf activitiea and. Staff was very kind
-
Great character cabins, tavern was nice and peaceful setting
Staff were either really friendly or unfriendly. Especially the shop, staff seemed unhappy to help, closing the display while my daughter was trying to get a yoghurt and saying coffee wasn't being served at 4pm after serving someone 5 seconds before. Literally heard the staff complain and laugh about customers 4 separate times just after they left the shop, watched staff tell 2 people that ice was $7 a bag, rather than that you can get it free from ice machine, so I told the guests. .they seem to not like customers. Restaurant and front staff were great. Bike hire people had zero recommendations of where we could ride the bikes like it was a weird question..so we rode the bikes randomly up a track which turned into bushes and gave up half an hour (and $80!) later.
"Our family of 11 — six adults and five kids — just returned from an unforgettable stay at Evergreen Lodge near Yosemite, and we can't stop talking about it. There was truly something for everyone: the kids spent hours in the rec room, cooling off in the pool, tackling the obstacle course, and flying down not one but two zip lines. We even squeezed in a game of bocce ball and joined the daily crafts, which the little ones loved. Every meal at the onsite restaurant was delicious, making it easy to relax and just enjoy time together instead of worrying about where to eat. Evergreen Lodge made it effortless to keep a big multi-generational group happy and entertained from morning to night. We're already planning our next visit!"
Chill, nature, relax
Too far from Yosemite Valley. Too crowded. Too basic. No hotel feeling. Too expensive.
good location for seeing Yosemite. Swimming pool for relaxing and other activities such as Frisbee golf, table tennis, pool etc were good for our teenage sons
Our cabin was a bit dated although I appreciate that is part of the style of the place however the air conditioning in our kids room didn't work properly so basic upgrades to a/c and the like would help improve the cabins
Evergreen Lodge outside of Yosemite National Park is a destination vacation spot! It is filled with beautiful, clean cozy cabins, restaurant, bar, store, community center, pool, best hot tub ever. Wonderful food, staff & activities. Stargazing at night is amazing! Close access to Hetch Hetchy dam and 8 miles from the Yosemite entrance gate! A must have experience!
Everything was lovely at Evergreen? The staff, the facilities, was just great.
It was pricey but I’ve found all stays in California expensive this time.
Everything was just perfect! The atmosphere at this hotel is honestly 1000 out of 10. Everything is perfect. The cabins are cozy, and every little detail has been thoughtfully considered. The pillows and blankets are very comfortable, and everything is incredibly clean. I’m usually very picky and can always find something to criticize, but here I genuinely couldn’t find a single thing. There’s also a great restaurant on the property, and the shop even has good coffee and matcha. They also have laundry facilities.
Our cabin was very small, too small for 2 adults with 2 large suitcases. No table, no chairs. The cabin was one of the oldest in camp. Tissue paper in bathroom was moist and stinky. We had the feeling that nobody had stayed in there for quite some time. It looks like they give such cabins to non-American guests. Sorry to say that. My sister and her husband got such small cabin too. One Chinese old couple got such small cabin too.
Poor cleaning
No good
We stayed two nights in this absolutely fabulous lodge! The rooms are cozy, clean, and incredibly pleasant. The service was unmatched, from the seamless check-in to the helpful advice on Yosemite tracks and trip options. Our biggest surprise, though, was the food! The meals at both the bar and the lodge restaurant were absolutely perfect. Even after checking out, the post-stay service maintained the exact same high standards we experienced during our visit. We needed some clarifications regarding our bill and received swift, patient, and clear responses. Thank you Jessica Ni. and Janie Ma. Our stay felt like a piece of heaven - we will definitely return!
It’s close to the entrance of Yosemite. It’s relaxing and was a real treat.
It was expensive but it was a treat.
Evergreen Lodge is truly one of our favorite places in the world. My wife and I were married here in 2021, and now we love bringing our two young boys back to experience the same magic. There's something special about this place that keeps drawing us back. After spending the morning exploring Yosemite National Park, we always look forward to relaxing by the pool before enjoying a fantastic dinner at the restaurant or tavern. The setting, the atmosphere, and the staff make every visit unforgettable. We recommend Evergreen Lodge to anyone looking to experience the beauty of Yosemite while staying somewhere that feels just as memorable as the park itself.
Really enjoyed our stay. Staff so helpful With tips on routes to explore the park. Cabin so peaceful. Pool was a lovely spot to relax after a day hiking.
Highly recommend Evergreen lodge for any families visiting Yosemite. The property is large enough that you never felt crowded even during the busy 4th July weekend. The Pool area, games area and courtyard were all excellent. The restaurant onsite was great as were the bbq option. Internet was fast and reliable. Checkin was fast and easy and they made our extremely early morning checkout easy. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing really.
The close location to Yosemite. Had a wonderful natural vibe. Set amongst mountain ridges and tall pines. Wonderful staff. All the amenities..
Funky and kitschy throwback, with incredibly kind folks, good service, and great food. Our stay wasn't planned (the glamping spot where our group of nine were staying closed unexpectedly), but we couldn't have been luckier. I can't rave enough about the staff, and air conditioning in the room! Be prepared for a dated cabin and a cramped pool, but we had a great time. It is a kid's paradise, as well as for us kids at heart.
Property was great, very comfortable. Check-in after work hours was smooth as staff were very helpful.
staff were so friendly. we had a tent and it was well equipped.
We couldn't charge our laptop because there is no outlet however you can charge your phones with USB. Restaurant was a little pricy but very friendly staff. Totally $416 for one night tent is a little too much. it's more than an hour far from Yosemite village and over 20 minutes driving in a rough off-road and I don't recommend to drive at night.
I stayed at the Evergreen Lodge a couple of years ago and had a wonderful experience. The location is perfect for exploring Yosemite, and having a wonderful experience by the woods. Recently, I had made plans to stay again, but a family matter interrupted our plans. The service from Tom at the front desk was excellent, empathetic, and understanding. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting the area!
Amazing place! Have stayed at Evergreen Lodge 5 times. It’s beautiful surroundings offer a variety of choices for accommodations. A beautiful surrounding w everything from a pool, play areas for kids and great restaurant for meals. The staff are the most helpful and friendly I have ever encountered The recreation staff were amazing in pointing out places to go We have stay here 5 times as a couple, w friends and w family and always a wonderful experience
I want to say at the start that I liked the Evergreen Lodge and could even see myself staying there again. I think, though, it is important to know what the lodge is and where it is located when deciding if the place is for you. The lodge is similarly priced to a mid-upper hotel in a big US city. If that is your expectation, you will need to reset it. We stayed in a one-bedroom cottage that was very nice. It was clean, of a good size (the bathroom is large), had a refrigerator, and had its own entrance. It was a clean and comfortable place to stay for a few nights. It is, though, rustic. The sofa bed was not especially comfortable, and the shower nozzle was like 8 power washers you would use to clean your deck (it was painful!). The furniture and carpeting are basic. Again, these are not really complaints (well, the shower is ...). Rather, I want to make clear that, despite the cost, this is not a luxury accommodation. It's not what they have to offer (and, in fairness, it is not what they claim to offer). What they do offer is a restaurant with really good food, pretty grounds to walk around (including a scenic overlook), activities for the kids (zip lines, a pool, an old-fashioned game room, etc.), a nice general store, and a nice lounge room that is a great place to relax and also provides travel advice during the day and serves smores at night. It's a great little lodge. What about the location? The lodge is located on a curvy, not-very-well-paved road through wilderness, 15 minutes from the main highway. I never drove it at night, but I would be afraid to do so. If you are going to the main Yosemite Village from the resort, it's more than an hour by car, and part of the route is through a narrow, windy, mountain-climbing highway that was pretty scary at times during the day (I did not drive it at night, nor would I). Also, parking is filled at the Village by 8:30 a.m. on the weekends, so you have to leave super early (one day, we left the lodge at 7:15 a.m. and got one of the last spots in the main lot in the Village). More positively, it is only 5 minutes by car (in the other direction) to the Hetch Hetchy entrance to Yosemite, and only 25 minutes to O'Shaughnessy Dam (via the Hetch Hetchy entrance), where you can find parking until about noon. There is less to do there (no stores, no visitor information, etc., only rest rooms), but it is a beautiful location (reservoir, waterfalls, mountains, etc.). The road to O'Shaughnessy can be a little twisty, but it is nothing like the road to the Village. This part of the park is only open sunrise to sunset. It's good that the restaurant has good food, because it is about a half an hour drive to any other restaurant (including the 15 minutes on the road from the highway that would not be fun to drive at night). If you are not in Yosemite Village, you are likely eating at the lodge. The bottom line is that the Evergreen Lodge is a nice, rustic place to stay if it meets your needs. If you are picturing a place that is luxurious, it is not for you. If you are picturing a place near other restaurants, it is not for you. If you think you can pop in and out to Yosemite Village whenever you want, this location is not for you. But if you are looking for what the Evergreen Lodge offers, it really is a great option (really, the only option). We took a tour that left from the Yosemite Valley Lodge in Yosemite Village, and while we did not see a room, based on everything else we saw, we all agreed that we would rather make the drive from Evergreen than to stay in the park. Evergreen Lodge is a good option so long as you know what you are getting, and what you are getting matches what your needs are. I really went back and forth over whether it was 4 or 5 stars. I would say it is 4-star place, but, I understand, given the limited options in the area, it is a 5-star option for Yosemite (with its limitations).
I usually stay in Yosemite Valley but was unable to reserve a cabin. I remembered Evergreen Lodge, a place my husband and I accidentally discovered while driving to Hetch Hetchy. We stopped to explore the Lodge and had lunch in the old tavern. Very impressive! In the middle of nowhere, almost, this lodge has the glamping feel….more of a small resort. The grounds didn’t have extensive trails as Yosemite Valley. It did offer many things for families such as salt water pool, zip line, giant chess board, frisbee golf and much more. We reserved several nights in the deluxe cabin (a bit pricey) located across the road. We had our own parking area which was nice, especially since there were two weddings that weekend. The cabin in Kalama area was very quiet, away from the crowds. Cabin had a mini fridge, Keurig, bathroom with shower (en-suite) king size be and fold out queen size sofa. WiFi was included along with a cast iron fireplace and some games. No cooking allowed. The Tavern was the only place to dine in. Serving portions were very good, service was excellent. Alcoholic beverages were a bit high but not uncommon for these times. There was a rec room with a pool table, crafts for kids, free s’mores at night and even a glass blowing class you can sign up for (not sure of the cost) All in all, a good time was had by all.
Exceptional stay close to the gates of Yosemite. Food (nightly bbqs at the pool) and smores was a highlight. Salt water pool is beautiful and the perfect place to chill after a day in the park. Very friendly staff, would highly recommend the Wonders of Yosemite Tour- it’s everything you want to see in one day. Incredible facilities, games room, fires, sunset viewing point, laundry room, a general store with everything you could possibly want.
Nothing
Perfect vacation, multiple trips across Yosemite, a day lounging at the pool and lots of great meals at the restaurant. Yeah the Smores were good too!
Accomodation very comfortable. Surrounding area beautiful. Restaurant was excellent and all the staff helpful and friendly.
It took a good hour to get to the Yosemite valley area.
Excellent facilities
Limited Food options
The poverty was beautiful and well maintained. Very friendly staff.
Amazing accommodation in a beautiful place. We booked a glamping tent but didn’t expect that the night would be so cold. Fortunately we’ve got easily upgraded to a cabin with heating. Thanks a lot to the staff!
Went with friends and we all thought Evergreen was amazing. It is in a beautiful, quiet relaxing setting. All the staff were so friendly, helpful and just a joy. They were very accommodating to our needs even providing special dietary food preparations for one of us. They have everything that you can think of to make your stay a dream. Cabins were spacious and the meals were delicious, sunset by the pool/hot tub, s'mores at the fire pit, games, etc. etc, etc. They thought of everything to make your stay there perfect. We will be recommending Evergreen to everyone who wants to go to Yosemite and surrounding area. This is very superior to staying in the National Park itself. (One of us had previously stayed in Yosemite NP and found this to be far better). Also took the Tioga Road day tour which was just beautiful and learned so much about Yosemite. Can't say enough about Evergreen Lodge it was just perfect.
Great location, Super nice accommodations, Super Friendly Staff.
A really beautiful place to stay close to Yosemite
We enjoyed our glamping tent. It was comfortable and cute with a great view! The proximity to Yosemite was incredible and the facilities were great.
We understand the fire danger but we wish we could’ve had used our camp stove in a designated area to cook a little breakfast but it wasn’t the end of the world as they are allowed in Yosemite itself.
Top locatie en zo een leuke sfeer!
Niks
Perfect, quiet location in the middle of tge woods
It’s a very calm and relaxing property right in the heart of nature. A great place to disconnect from devices. There’s plenty of things to do around the place.
Nothing really. It’s an exceptionally clean and well-thought place.
The resort has excellent amenities including several dining options on site, a pool area, and rec hall full of activities. We loved the smores in the evening. It was an easy drive into Yosemite each morning.
The room itself was comfortable but a bit dated.
The overall grounds were clean. The cabin we stayed in was nice. I do have a few complaints, the WiFi is terrible to say the least and most times did not work at all. There are no TV,s in the cabins. For us, we usually go all day and would like to relax in our room. For the price and amenities we do not use that is a must I over looked when booking. Also, the bed mattress is over used and my wife slept on the couch for the rest of the stay., and had a back ache to the point we asked if we could shorten our stay and get a refund for our last night. We talked to Brett at the front desk and asked to see a Manager, he said he would himself wave the last nights stay and give us a refund in full. I have not seen that yet or see it reflected on my e mailed receipt that I received after we were on our way back to Fresno. The parking is another problem, there is either no or 2 spots for three cabins. The lot parking is a good distance away. The employees stay at cabins on the grounds and are able to park at their cabins or right next to them.
Everything you need on site....as well as close by location for Everything you need to enjoy yourself
Little to pricey but overall had good time
I shared a glamping tent with my son. The nights were cold but we had plenty of blankets. We enjoyed the stargazing one evening. We had great meals at the restaurant, especially the trout and the meatballs. We got great advice about what to visit in Yosemite National park. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub.
Secluded, beautiful grounds with all the comforts of home. Games, nightly s’mores, sunset deck, hot tub/pool and friendly service. I also appreciated the tour recommendations, it helped take out research on my end and just enjoy the journey!
I loved everything about the property. From the views, to the cabins, to the food, and especially the friendly community and staff. Absolutely love it, would come back again.
What I didn’t like was the kettle and the coffee machine. My husband checked on the kettle because we wanted to eat the packaged ramen that we brought from home. But when he did, it was really dirty. There was particulate matter inside and water looked really dirty. The coffee machine was pretty much the same. So, we didn’t really get to enjoy our ramen because of that. So please, make sure to double check on the kettle and coffee machine before the guests arrive.
Nice location
Food at the restaurant was sub standard
Our second stay at Evergreen Lodge Yosemite was just as lovely as the first. The cottages are cozy, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay. While the showers may look a bit dated, the excellent water pressure and shower heads make for a wonderful hot shower after a long day of hiking in Yosemite National Park. The restaurant, bar, and gift shop offer a great variety of delicious food and snacks at different price points, making it easy to find something for everyone. The staff throughout the property are exceptionally warm and friendly, consistently providing excellent service. Each evening, guests can enjoy complimentary s’mores around the campfire, which adds to the fun and relaxed atmosphere. The full-service activities desk is also a wonderful resource for planning guided adventures or helping you organize your own hikes and excursions. The lodge is conveniently located near Hetch Hetchy for hiking and is about a 45-minute drive to Yosemite Valley. Guests also enjoyed dining at nearby Rush Creek Lodge. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming Yosemite getaway.
We found Evergreen Lodge on Trip Advisor and we are very pleased. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, although we didn’t need anything extra. Very quiet and relaxing. Stayed in a cabin that had good amenities. Plus a nicely stocked general store with specialty coffee! Would definitely stay here again. About an hour from Yosemite Valley.
We had a terrific time celebrating the 80th birthday of our family super mom and grandma. The facility is impeccably clean and welcoming, with beautiful scenery and cozy, comfortable charming cabins. The restaurant, pool and tavern are especially nice. The staff is amazingly friendly and upbeat. Highest possible recommendation.
Stunning place in the nature, far from everything. At least, that is what it felt like. We stayed in a tent which was very nice and comfy. It was first time for us, so had to get used to a cold tent at night. Staff was super friendly.☺️
We used the saltwater pool and hot tub every day of the stay. The food at the restaurant was better than what we had at The Awahnee. Staff consistently went the extra mile to make our stay better at each step of the way. If they could just get that last few miles of road with less potholes, Evergreen would be the perfect Yosemite stay.
Very clean. Comfortable bed in the tent. Enjoyed the s’mores in the evening.
The food at the restaurant was decent but a bit pricey. The hamburger was quite good though.
I loved the atmosphere, the tent area, the amenities, location of our tent (T5), the generous smore bags at night (loved!), and the restaurant was great. Lance was the absolute best.. so nice, helpful, and attentive!
The first night there was a wedding going on.. no parking. The late afternoon, early evening bugs. The $16 dollar bottle of bug spray
This is a hidden gem close to Hetch Hetchy with endless fun activities both on-site at the lodge and in the surrounding area. And the food at the restaurant is really delicious. The staff is very very friendly and the Lodging is beautiful. We really preferred this to the overcrowded Yosemite Valley
The setting is magical, pure bliss. Management and staff are so nice and helpful, it seems they all enjoy working there which reflects in their service. The late night management was so kind, we checked in just before midnight and he opened up the store so we could buy some food as we missed dinner that night. Tom the front desk manager was always so helpful and made you feel special. Id go back in a heartbeat.
My sons rented bikes and unfortunately one of them had no brakes, the injury sustained meant we couldnt hike Yosemite as planned, such a disappointment. Management did refund us and gave us very small compensation, but nothing to equal what we lost from our trip.
Recently, we had the opportunity to visit this beautiful serene setting for a wedding. The cabins are perfect accommodations for a rustic woodsy stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff were so nice and friendly and answered all our questions with ease. It really was a wonderful weekend - everyone is so nice and made our stay even better. The Tavern has lots of delicious choices for breakfast, with a wait staff that made sure our coffee cups were always full. One staffer saw us trying to figure out where the ceremony was happening, and they literally stopped what they were doing and walked us to the beautiful ceremony setting; well above and beyond his regular duties. If you have the opportunity to visit Yosemite, a 100% recommend staying at the Evergreen Lodge- we will definitely be coming back.
Rustic, unique, all inclusive.
Difficult to get to.
Les Lodge spacieux , confortables, super deco , calmes . Places parking .
we started in the tents with beds. at 70, we may have made a mistake. (cold at night). there was a cabin available so we upgraded. they have a tavern on site and we eat breakfast and dinner here. we love it. its hearty but we're very active. excellent service. quiet. good location. outside the park but you will be driving a bunch at yosemite. I dont mind driving with these views. overall we love it.
Overall it was over priced
I loved the location: close to the park entrance, but still in the woods. They have all the amenities and programs one might want. It kept us entertained even on rainy days. Foosball, pool and hot tub, along with the fireplace and lovely restaurant. Our lodge was tasteful and comfortable. Loved the bluetooth speaker and the spacious bathroom and our mini fireplace.
The mattress was a bit firm for my taste.
Evergreen Lodge was an incredibly welcoming and inviting accommodation. It provided comfort, great facilities and guidance on how to make the most of the national park. All staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The shop and cafe were stocked with just about anything you might need or want. The lodge itself was clean, spacious, warm and well thought through in terms of design and amenities. The fireplace was a great and cosy bonus.
The drive to Yosemite valley took around 1 hour from the lodge
Mitten in der Natur, sehr bequemes Bett, freundliches Personal. Alles super!
Der Weg dahin ist etwas holperig. Essensauswahl eher begrenzt.
Prachtige locatie en mooi en ruim opgezet park!
