Parking in an open site is a bit expensive at 9 euros a night. Also the breakfast is expensive at 20 euros per person when we probably only needed a couple of croissants and coffee. This was especially relevant on our last morning when we just wanted a quick snack in our room before driving to the ferry in Bilbao and the price was 25 euros per person. Maybe two prices would be relevant, one for cooked food etc and another for simple breakfast

Trop cher pour ce que c'est. Pas de bouilloire dans la chambre. Le ménage peut être amélioré (j'ai trouvé un bout de plastique dans la baignoire et quelques taches sur la table du salon). Globalement c'est bien mais il manquerait quelques détails pour que la prestation corresponde au prix.

L'insonorisation des chambres est insuffisante pour cette catégorie d'établissement. Nous avons été dérangés par le bruit des allées et venues et conversations dans le couloir menant à la chambre le matin et le soir. C'est dommage car à part ce problème tout était parfait.

Trying to find the Hotel was a nightmare!! Apparently a building had collapsed and closed the main access road to it. None of the old signs had been removed and no new ones erected. many of the roads into the old town were restricted to residents and needed a key to lower bollards. The Hotel staff seemed to think it was the job of someone else to sort out.

No veo adecuado que el bar cierre a las 11. Denota necesidad de ahorro de costes laborales. Tampoco la nueva costumbre de paradores de pedirte a qué hora vas a desayunar para organizar….ni que determinados platos haya que pedirlos (no vayas a pillar demasiado si es libre, o se pierda….). Al cerebrin de Madrid al que se le han ocurrido tan brillantes ideas para ahorro de costes le recordaría que, si pagas lo que cuesta un parador, esperas unos servicios a su altura, no sentir que sus ahorros de costes te incomodan. Recuerden esto cuando empiecen a faltar los clientes y a bajar los beneficios.

Die Zufahrt zum Hotel war fast nicht zu finden. Die Richtung der bestehenden Wegweiser war oft nicht klar, die markierte Zufahrt war durch einen grossen Blumentopf versperrt Wir haben dann das Auto stehen lassen und den Weg zu Fuss gesucht. Nach Auskunft an der Reception ist das ein allgemeines Problem die Zufahrt zu finden.

Teníamos media pensión y en la cena el segundo plato tardó. muchísimo en salir, tuvieron un detalle con nosotros al final pero la verdad que cuando llegó ya no teníamos hambre, una pena. Poco aislamiento, por la noche y por la mañana se oían muchos ruidos.

Breakfast should start no later than 07:00, preferably at 06:30 for Camino walkers. It began at 07:30 and was very good. Our room faced the street along the Camino route, and the noise was a bit loud around 4:00 AM when some pilgrims set off for the day.

The hotel is situated in the centre of the old town, next to the cathedral, and accessible by car, if you follow the hotel’s instructions. The hotel has external closed parking about 40m from the hotel, and an underground garage, both of which are payable. Our room was large, and comfortable, overlooking an enclosed area, so very quiet. We slept well. Breakfast was by sitting, but not particularly enforced, and was the usual high Parador standard, as was the dinner we had one of the nights during our stay. Service generally was excellent, the staff friendly, helpful and available, both in the hotel and restaurant. In summary, an excellent stay, well up to the high Parador standards.

It was neither the hotel's fault that the weather was poor nor that a church festival disturbed our sleep.

Dinner didn’t start until 8.30pm (so we ate elsewhere).
