Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The elegant and interesting fixtures and fittings made the atmosphere feel very special. The location was very close to everything of interest, yet extremely quiet. We loved our stay here and wish to stay in more Paradors if they are all as beautiful as this one.
It would be helpful to explain that parking is free in the streets close to the hotel. We spent ages driving round in circles following signs looking for a Parador car park when there wasn’t one.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2026After hostels and bunks this was luxury. Beautiful historic building very thoughtfully decorated. Comfortable beds, two pillows, large bath towels. Oh yes bath included. Quiet location Opted for breakfast but made to feel I hadn’t paid. Staff had read my room number wrong. Breakfast was the standard accepted. In a place like this. I asked staff to make a call to my back pack company (Correos). He refused to help which was disappointing. I just needed confirmation they were collecting my bag. Unfortunately I had a data only sim plan. Checkout was noon, however despite having a “do not disturb” sign on my door someone knocked and instantly entered at 10am. Lovely place to spoil yourself after a long day walking but a few extra touches would be nice for the price

Un solo ascensor para todas las habitaciones. Angosto, ademas. El baño, más angosto aun. Un bide empotrado e imposible de usar, salvo riesgo de chocar con la hoja de la puerta. Cuidado con las alfombras, muy bonitas eso si, pero en los largos pasillos ocultan desniveles del suelo y propician tropezones. El desayuno...pedi que me prepararan unos churros "artesanos". Eran de una masa sosa, blanda y para más inri, mal fritos.

Receptionist. Check in was extremly long. I was walking camino for almost 40 kilometers and looking him how he types on keybord all check in info. Then he talks something on Spanish to his collegue about some shoes, wtf. He see me exhosted and talking around. My friend this job is not for you. Rest was realm great. Very happy...

Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Los muebles de las habitaciones necesitan una reforma, no digo cambio por otros modernos que no les iría bien a la decoración, pero sí un poco de mantenimiento y el suelo de piedra de la habitación no es muy confortable. El desayuno muy bien y la atención de las camareras excelente.
Las vistas de la habitación, daban a un patio interior que no tenía nada de atractivo. Los muebles necesitan un mantenimiento.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026El edificio es precioso, aunque nuestra habitación daba a un patio exterior, que realmente pertenece a una residencia de ancianos...sin acceso ni uso para los clientes del parador. Positivo el hecho de poder transmitir datos del móvil a la televisión.
No hay servicio de cafeteria fuera del horario de desayuno, un simple hervidor o cafetera en la habitación sería recomendable. La bañera se queda obsoleta cuando recomiendan el ahorro de agua...para personas con cierta edad resulta peligroso entrar en ella, el cambio a plato de ducha a ras de suelo es una sugerencia que deberían tener en cuenta.

Short walk to the Cathedral and main area of bars and restaurants. Just off the Camino. Very professional staff at front desk. This is one of a few hundred properties across Spain that are in buildings of historical significance. Interesting concept.

La habitación olía un poco a desagüe, pero solo a la mañana, tras ducharse. En verano deberian poner solo sábana y dejar una manta, o edredón, en el armario, para el que lo necesite. Es un jaleo sacar el interior del edredón para no tener tanto calor y no quedarse sin sabana encimera.

El desayuno un poco caro nos parecio 25 euros por persona me parece un poco excesivo, no hay que olvidar que ya sufragamos estos sitios con dinero publico ya que paradores pertenece a todos los españoles que no se nos olvide.
La atencion tan altanera y rayando la antipatia de la recepcionista, te habla sin apenas mirarte y con esa suficiencia tipica del funcionario que sabe que aunque te ponga mala cara nunca le ira el puesto de trabajo en juego, en fin un cero a la señora

Reviewed Aug 14, 2026Vous vivez dans l'histoire espagnole avec le comfort moderne, un petit dejeuner qui vous ,donne lzl'energie pour vos 20 ou 30 km de marche...au prix d'un hotel 1* à Paris... Un pelerin ne devrait pas dire cela....Mais c'est au milieu de mes albergues à dortoir ou petite chambre avec commodités partagées, c'est dans un parador que vous refaites le plein de motivation. Quand vous arrivez et que de loin, vous voyez santo domingo, petit bourg perdu dans un desert agricole, vous comprenez pourquoi ses rues sont tapissées d'affiches " se vende " en etant tout surpris d'y trouver 2 paradors, temoins exceptionnels du Sacré dominant une riche histoire. Il résume un peu l'histoire de l'europe qui se noie dans les "droits de l'homme"
La nostalgie qui se dégage du lieu. Le camino francés est impreigné de cette atmosphère..

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026It had an elevator and a soaking tub. The cloister was nice. Very tidy and clean. It was slightly upscale, too.
There was an incessant mechanical buzzing that I could hear in my room and it kept me from having a good night’s sleep (and therefore an exhausting next day on the Camino). I called the reception about it when I arrived and there was absolutely no attempt to fix it or even look into it. It never stopped. Also - the decor is fabulous 80s monastery. Just fine. Save your extra Camino budget for a nicer spot.

Creo que merece una pequeña reforma o lavado de cara sin perder el encanto del parador, pero no tengo nada malo que reseñar

And the front desk staff, trained to an exceptional level of customer service and communication. The rooms are large, the bathrooms are well appointed, and there’s tons of sitting areas throughout the property. It’s close to the central part of town without being in the middle of the action, it’s just perfect.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026We decided to treat ourselves while walking the Camino de Santiago, and what a wonderful treat it was. This accommodation exceeded all our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay—the hotel itself, the beautiful historic building, the peaceful surroundings, the museum, and the chapel all made for a truly memorable experience. The staff also recommended that we visit the Cathedral of Santo Domingo de la Calzada. After walking for six hours, we didn't think we had another step left in us, but we simply couldn't resist exploring. We're so glad we did!
The carpet in the room had a damp smell - needs to be cleaned properly.
