Ruhige Lage. Schöner Park
In die Jahre gekommene Zimmer. Teppichboden mit einem Geruch, Langatmiges Frühstück und schlechter Kaffee. Ranziger Käse
Sehr persönlich Toller Service Sehr entgegenkommend Haben unsere Wünsche immer erfüllt Sehr zu empfehlen
Alles gut
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, from setting me up to work in the dining room, to accommodating an early breakfast request for our next stay at the hotel.
Nothing.
Relax verblijf.
Eigenlijk was alles oké.
Lovely boutique hotel tucked away in the suburbs of Constantia. Great outdoor area, very comfortable rooms and superb breakfast included. Will definitely be staying there again on our next visit to Cape Town
Beautiful, clean place. Convenient location Friendly and helpful staff
Nothing
Top locatie tussen de wijndomeinen en halfweg tussen Kaapstad en Kaap De Goede Hoop
De badkamer is wat verouderd maar netjes

Het eten in het restaurant
The cleanliness. Sweeping the room everyday. The daily weather forecast and amazing staff altogether. This place was sooooo beautiful 🤩 I had to extend a day

Beautiful garden. Friendly staff, who did their best. Lovely breakfast with homemade jams and bread. Interior design could be improved, and so could the shower pressure. For the price I was expecting just a little more luxury -- but I came away satisfied.
The shower pressure could have been improved, and the rooms could be more beuatiful.
Location grounds staff
Great vegan breakfast. Thank you
A bit dated but very nice at the same time
Beautiful terrace. Also, very friendly staff. Comfortable sun beds at the pool area complimented by a stunning garden.
Good location. Quiet, comfortable beds and quality bed linen. Comfortable padded sunbeds. The hotel manager was very good.
Breakfast - overdone eggs, frankfurter style pork sausages. You are given a small fruit plate rather than choose your own, also fruit on second morning was not fresh, poor buffet selection, no crossiant or pastries on second morning. No staff around in the day by the pool - would be good to have a fridge with water/soft drinks in the undercover area there. Decor - very old fashioned
It was very comfortable with a lovely pool area to relax. The room was very spacious & exceptionally clean
Personeel, zwembad en de kamers
Het eten en was een beetje verouderd
The breakfast was very good
Glen Avon is situated in a quiet part of Constantia but, with easy driving distance of shops and restaurants. The room was spotless and the grounds were manicured and pretty. We ate dinner in the restaurant the first night of our stay, which was wonderful. Highly recommended.
Pretty hotel in a lovely Constantia location, the grounds of the property are small but beautiful, and the hotel is very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast is fine and served on the terrace. The staff are very welcoming and friendly - would recommend for anyone needing to stay in the area.
We are so happy that we found Glen Avon Lodge....it suits our needs perfectly. Well located, easy to come and go. The staff are great...thank you Lisa for looking after us.
Delightful
Nothing it was beautiful
We enjoyed the breakfast and also had a fine dinner on one of the evenings. Our room was a garden suite with a mini-kitchen which was both spacious and comfortable. Staff were great - friendly and attentive and well-trained to make one feel at home.
Could not find fault.
Great location and really beautiful place
The service could be better, General room cleanliness, wifi was a bit of an issue as well as No water provided in room
Beautiful cape dutch style house in nice garden, friendly staff, comfy beds, large bathroom with hot shower and breakfast at the terrace
The rooms and shared areas are beautifully appointed, the bathrooms and toiletries luxurious, the beds extremely comfortable. Breakfast is lovely and dinner was top class. However, it is the efficiency and graciousness of the staff that make this hotel unique and a gem. Thank you!
Breakfast excellent
The warm welcome at 10.50 pm after 30 hours travelling. Ashley was fantastic. All the staff and the food was lovely thank you
Nice property and location.
Very quiet. Good location. Friendly helpful staff. So accomadating with our needs. Excellent breakfast and dinner.
Very hard to find as outside the property there is no indication that it is a hotel and no signage as to where the bell is and giw to enter the property
Lovely people making us feel so at home... Excellent chef Solomon - dinners were a 5 star event! Nice comfortable suite with pleasing gardens well cared for by gardener Nixon. Nothing was too much trouble for Lisa in reception and the lovely waitresses Ashley and Beauty
Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Lovely house and patio where you can book supper and breakfast. Gorgeous pool with loungers on the great.
Bedrooms need fresh decor and pillows. The bottled water was not free in the rooms while all 4 and 5 stars do due to the water quality. The rest was very beautiful. The staff are very quick to help at any time. Great breakfast!!!
Location and the room size were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was nice but not as described on the website or gourmet.
Drinks were only available at 7pm in the lounge before dinner unless you go to reception and ring a bell. There was no bar and no pool service. The food was nothing like the website pictures so somewhat disappointing. Overall definitely not as described or 5 star standard.
The courtesy that was afforded to the guests and the cordiality of the proprietors.
Nothing
Good location in constantia and large room
Rooms and communal areas are dated and the breakfast was terrible. A plate of rotten fruit and average coffee. Only had it once then missed it for the rest of the stay.
We received a very warm and friendly welcome. Check-in was very fast, and the room was very comfortable. The WiFi was excellent. I had an 8 hour ZOOM meeting, and the Internet did not drop once. Impressive. Breakfast was also very good and we were well looked after by Ashley and Tobias. The manager, Lisa, was there when we checked out and again a very warm greeting and farewell. We'll definitely stay here again.
Lovely staff and good location although very close to a busy road and noise from road is heard. Nice pool which wasn’t too cold but needed more thorough cleaning as had many leaves and bits of debris from garden…also work being done on edge of pool for at least 2 days. Breakfast was good and served fresh. All water and food products in room had to be paid for. Nice products available to use in bathroom.
Pool could have been cleaner and drinking water should be free on a daily basis. Noise from road nearby can be heard so if you need tranquility then maybe this is not the place to stay.
Everything
Glen Avon Lodge is an old-fashioned boutique hotel located in a beautiful part of Constantia. It is peaceful and surrounded by well-kept gardens. Unfortunately I was there for only one night, so my review won’t be that helpful, but I feel it is the sort of place where you should stay for a few days to really enjoy the facilities to the full.
The building itself is some years old and I seem to remember only goes up two floors. However, there are no lifts. Whilst this was not a problem for me personally, it might be an issue for the more elderly guests. That said, I would not be at all surprised if there are helpful staff available to carry your luggage for you.
Big, comfortable rooms, kept clean and welcoming by the friendly staff. Glen Avon is in a safe and excellent location for getting around Cape Town. For those who want somewhere in walking distance to eat or get a drink I’d also recommend the Peddlars pub a stone’s throw away
Everything was fine
Lovely hotel very comfortable room and good service at Breakast. This is a lovely hotel everything was good except Sadly the people in charge were very unfriendly and made no attempt to speak with us or give help with what to do - very different to anywhere else in SA
The exceptionally kind and helpful staff were the highlight of our stay. We particularly enjoyed the warm morning conversations during breakfast, which created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Additionally, the inclusion of fresh products at breakfast, such as fruits and locally picked mulberries, was a nice touch. The idea of a daily note with the weather forecast was also thoughtful and added a personal touch to the experience.
The hotel feels outdated, with visible signs of wear and tear, such as loose tiles around the property and in the pool area, and poorly maintained rooms. The pool was occasionally unclean, which detracted from the experience. Bottled water in the rooms was not included in the price, which felt unreasonable given the €300 per night rate. The owner’s suggestion to drink tap water, which tasted unpleasant, felt inappropriate for a hotel of this class. Breakfast, while fresh, was monotonous, with limited healthy options (all yogurts and cereals were sweetened). The “complimentary” chocolates provided daily were of very low quality, more like a chocolate substitute. Overall, the hotel failed to deliver the 5-star experience it advertises, offering a standard closer to 3 stars.
Lovely rooms, attention to detail. Chocolate on the bed, weather forcast for, the next day, cookies with the coffee, was very welcome. Very friendly staff. Lovely breakfast, overlooking the garden and mountain in the distance.
No free water, but wine, chocolate, water to buy in the room..
Such a well taken cared of property. All is so so pretty and staff is so nice!!!! Situated in Constantia and amazing to discover the city. Views of table mountain while falling asleep and waking up!! Wow !!!
The only little suggestion … and I mean little ../ is having a liiiiitle bit more at breakfast. But I’m being picky!!
Alles wat we nodig hadden. Ruime kamer, zwembad, prima ontbijt en goede locatie.
Great location - quiet, beautiful area with easy access to main roads for exploring Cape Town. Delicious breakfasts with eggs freshly cooked to order. Lovely to have a microwave, crockery, cutlery in the room for days you don't want to eat out.
Loved our stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. Wendy and staff were so kind, really going out of their way to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend! Great location and lovely place.
This is wonderfully central and a quick Uber ride to so many things! It is quiet. The property is lovely. And the staff and owner are really stellar and welcoming. Breakfast is delicious. The rooms are elegant and have everything you need. Loved it and hope to come back with my family!
The breakfast was great and so was the service. The people are super very friendly and welcoming. The garden even in winter is lovely.
Nothing not to like !
It was a beautiful and quiet location with a nice garden, clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was served outside whenever the weather allowed it. It was freshly prepaired. Staff and owner were all superfriendly.
Breakfast was the same every day and it would have been nice to have some more variety. The pool water was too cold so we could not use it.
The most peaceful weekend get away! Sitting having breakfast with garden view
Not much.. maybe bigger tv needed
Besutiful gardens
Everything except a small detail about the rooms.
The carpet should be vacuumed, to much dust.
We had room 4, next to the lawn, which is more a small holiday house than a room. With a big bedroom and a huge bathroom, terrace with seating out front. Not only breakfast, but dinner is also possible. And it is very good! Staff is very friendly and helpful.
-
Highly recommended, a very well presented and well run establishment. Staff had just the right level of attentiveness, good breakfasts and the one evening meal we took at the hotel was excellent. For such a desirable location, close to the attractions of the Western Cape the price was very reasonable.
