A very attractive property with good pools and an in-house dive centre.
Vastly over-expensive for the quality of the property and the service. They are charging top-rates but providing a middle-of-the-road experience. The restaurant food is disappointingly mediocre, with small portions to boot, breakfast was unexciting and the same every day. There is no turn-down service or any of the extras that make 5 star resorts special. The dive centre is professional but charged more than twice the price of other centres.
We stayed at this lovely, breezy penthouse with a huge balcony we lounged in all day. The landscaping of Atmosphere is gorgeous and a pleasure to walk around. // We took a boat to Apo Island and saw turtles. We also enjoyed the house reef which also had turtles! There was a dive shop trainee named Joanna who kept both my little boy and my partner safe when they ran into trouble with the snorkeling gear we had brought on our own. This trainee was very observant and helpful in the water. // The service throughout the resort was great.
Just 1 thing: the restaurant menu, especially the weird non-Filipino tasting fusion dishes that were on the Filipino part of the menu. Not enough soups too. Thankfully there was a new set of daily specials that were tasty. But for those menu prices I would have expected more.
Staff
Bathroom, place is over priced
We stayed in one of the penthouses, which comprises 2 king-size bedrooms with a huge communal kitchen & lounge with wrap around balcony. This was actually cheaper to share when compared to two single rooms. The bedrooms were huge & very well equipped with absolute dreamy beds with high quality linens. The bathrooms were spacious with plenty of counterspace, quality toiletries, plush towels & racks to dry wet clothes. The lounge was comfy to sprawl & chill out on. There are 3 pools, with the ability to laze, nap & indulge in snacks/cocktails – definite resort relaxation vibes! Breakfast in the open air restaurant is included in the room rates, which is a deluxe delish a la carte service. The poolside bar offers a snack & casual meal menu at a reasonable price. I really liked the dive schedule allowing divers to pick & choose what dives they do, ie 8am, 10.30am, 2pm etc. Not to mention the dive centre facilities & camera room are truly spectacular. The onsite day spa was also amazingly serene – the services were performed exactly as expected. Staying here for a week was a dream, so much so that we are returning for another week. Highly recommend indulging & experiencing such an amazing place.
The setting is beautiful. The help was amazing. The food options and presentation was exceptional. I have never stayed in a resort with such friendly and great help anywhere. I hated to leave.
I recently returned from a week at Atmosphere, and found it to be relaxing with excellent service and a large, professional dive center. The room was large and comfortable, pools large and food excellent (touching on gourmet). The quiet luxury feel of the beautiful resort, supported by the over and above service provided by all the staff, made it a wonderful experience. I dove for 5 days and the dive guide and support were top notch. The muck diving in particular must rank in the top 5 I have seen or heard of throughout the world, with many frogfish, seahorses, cuttlefish, nudis, and on and on. I won’t deny that it was expensive versus alternatives, but for those who can afford it, the experience and comfort is well worth it, in my view.
Great complex with very attentive staff where nothing was too much trouble . Fantastic food with really good accommodation . English tea with milk in the fridge was the the only missing thing .
We recently stayed at Atmosphere Luxury Resort in Dauin and overall had a pleasant experience. The resort itself is beautiful, with a very nice layout featuring three pools, a beachfront location, spacious villas, and beautifully manicured gardens. The property feels peaceful and relaxing, and the villas are comfortable and well designed. A special thank you to Lemuel at the front desk who helped us secure our reservation with a last-minute booking. The highlight of our stay was definitely The Sanctuary Spa. It truly lives up to its name — very serene, relaxing, and professionally run. We booked three massages and body scrubs and had a wonderful experience. If you visit the spa, try to book Jay Ann, who was excellent. That said, the resort is quite pricey and almost every activity or movement around the property involves additional cost. While we expected this, service could be more proactive considering the luxury price point. The staff were friendly but not particularly service-oriented compared to other luxury resorts we’ve stayed in around Batangas, Boracay, and Palawan. The rooms are spacious and nice, though we noticed limited toiletries and some electrical sockets were not working, which required assistance from housekeeping. The food was OK but also quite expensive. Overall, it’s a beautiful resort with a standout spa, but with a bit more attention to service details it could fully match the expectations of a luxury property.
We stayed for 4 nights in a Premium Pool Suite on a B&B basis. The room was lovely, as was the outside area. We didn't use the private pool as it was very shady and we love to sunbathe . It did rain quite a bit too ( and windy) which didn't help unfortunately. The main pools were lovely though and sunbeds plentiful so we were happy, the sun did shine for us some of the time! The pool bar staff were amazing, really attentive and warm and friendly, especially Larry who really looked after us, especially when I had an upset - more later.- he was amazing . The food in the restaurant was amazing, lovely menu ,, the breakfasts, in particular , were stunning, the best we've had anywhere , all al a carte too. Probably too much food is offered at breakfast tho - just our opinion , we had to refuse the breads and fruit after a couple of days as we'd not have fitted in the amazing main breakfast meal! Can highly recommend the Filipino breakfast - soo tasty , but so were the omelettes - all delicious! They have a great dive centre onsite and offer PADI courses and trips out which was very popular with guests and run very well. Unfortunately we had one issue whilst we were there when we were recommended to snorkel off the beach - on a day where the sea was still very choppy , and were told , when we asked, that a guide wasn't necessary and it was safe, We are experienced but we did have an issue in the sea which the staff did deal with ok in the end but we felt could have been dealt with much better at the time ( unusual conditions on that day we were told) . We'd say don't go out on your own if the sea is choppy , insist on a guide . I think they learnt from our experience as, the next day, others were taken out with a guide also. We are experienced snorkellers and did enjoy an amazing boat trip to Apo Island the following day - the sea a lot calmer - and saw plenty of turtles and fish - can highly recommend, the safely onboard and the guide we had were amazing - wonderful experience and I was glad I wasn't put off by the bad experience the day before . I do believe it was a one off so don't let this put anyone off as it's an amazing dive centre with great, experienced staff, just be cautious if the sea gets rough. We also had a couples full body massage in the Spa and were blown away at how good they were - some of the best we've had anywhere - make sure you book one in while you are there.. All in all we had a lovely time and can highly recommend Atmosphere Resort & Spa in Dauin , Dumaguete .
Had a lovely stay at the resort! The staff was so accommodating and serviceminded. The place was so clean and even small details was thought of. Thank you so much for a lovely stay - i will for sure be back for a longer stay next time.
What a lovely place. We spent eight days diving here in Jan 2026 and absolutely loved it. The room was large, well equipped and spotless and the grounds of the hotel are absolutely immaculate. It really is an oasis of calm. Special mention for the food and waiting staff, it really was a pleasure to watch an open kitchen and see the care and attention they give to what they are doing. The dive centre was excellent and in Arjay we had a guide with incredible eyes. He found us a list of critters to long to go into here but to see flamboyant cuttlefish on almost every dive was great. There are lots of small details whch make this the place what it is and one of them is the small coffee bar by the small children's pool. We had a very good coffee here most days and Alan, the fella running it is a legend! Highly recommended.
Our experience at Atmosphere was phenomenal. It is beautiful here and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I definately recommend Atmosplere.
Recommend this resort - the landscape, accommodation, setting is stunning (no beach), the people are warm and welcoming, the food so good, and the diving is fantastic (beautiful reef, lots of life).
Our stay was great..although we did not dive. We did enjoy. We feel if you are not diving maybe find another place. I feel they treat the divers maybe with a little more attention
My father and I spent a week here on a diving trip, and the entire experience was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the level of hospitality throughout the resort was superb. The restaurant served excellent food, with great service and an overall really enjoyable dining experience. It has an excellent bar and offers amazing fine dining too. For those interested in exploring the surrounding area and local markets they offer outings with tour guides which were excellent. The dive school was outstanding. All of the team were welcoming, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. We completed our Nitrox and Advanced Open Water courses with Tamara, the marine biologist and a certified dive instructor. She was brilliant—highly knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to learn from. The diving itself was amazing, offering a great mix of coral reefs and exceptional macro life. For those interested in technical diving or underwater photography, the facilities here are the next level. Overall, this is an outstanding resort that I would highly recommend to anyone, especially diving enthusiasts.
We just wrapped up 2 weeks at Atmosphere and absolutely loved it. The grounds are beautiful, room was huge, modern and very comfortable. Food was superb with many menu choices and daily specials. Most importantly, the diving was awesome. Some of the best macro we’ve ever done. Dive shop is clearly well managed thanks to B and Jan. A special call out to all the amazing staff including Louie our dive master, Ed the sommelier who was such a great host, and Charlie at the pool who looked after us. We will be back! Murray and Jennifer #607.
Atmosphere has it all! The grounds are beautiful, the accommodations spacious and comfortable and the dining excellent with an attentive, friendly staff including an in house sommelier, Ed who was knowledgeable and friendly. And then there’s the diving! The whole team was friendly, helpful and made sure everyone was well taken care of. The diving is phenomenal, especially the macro critters. Our dive master Louie found the tiniest creatures for us and celebrated enthusiastically when we found something on our own. This is a well run resort with friendly helpful staff. We are already planning our return.
We had a wonderful stay at Atmosphere Resort & Spa. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect: the setting is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive, and always smiling — they truly make you feel special. Little touches like the handwritten note and local chocolates made our stay even more memorable. The food was excellent, and the overall experience exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this resort and would love to come back one day. Thank you to the entire Atmosphere team!
The best staff. Amazing place. White Lotus vibes. Loved it. The staff is so accommodating. The best service I’ve ever experienced. The spa is amazing too. It was paradise.
It's rare that one receives top notch service even before becoming a confirmed customer. But this is what I experienced at Atmosphere. I was gobsmacked that Nenita answered my initial email with such detail and clarity that the anticipated email back and forth was not required. And the service did not stop with booking. Airport to resort, check-in, restaurant experiences, room, dive experience, bar, excursion planning and execution (including daily 4am trip to church). Atmosphere can be known by its smiles. The grounds are beautiful, and have an aesthetic I've not seen in the Philippines. Absolutely peaceful. Our room was bright and airy, and beautifully appointed. I loved the showers. We started planning our next trip while we were there, and Lemuel showed us a good selection of rooms. All clean and ready for the next guests. But, I shouldn't name names for everyone was special. Everyone smiled, from MD to groundsperson. My most special moments were that I had my first 3 dive experiences at Atmosphere. With B and Jan encouraging me, and Lor finally getting me out of the starting gates. And the boat team of course. Small things that pleased us? Well, yes, the smiles. But also the fresh milk delivered on request. The fact that meal courses came in order and not jumbled. The quality of the in-room coffee. That the reception staff did our peculiar little bookings without complaint. Thank you, Atmosphere Team. All of you.
I had an excellent stay at Atmosphere Resort & Spa. The resort is exceptionally clean, quiet, and well maintained, creating a very relaxing and comfortable environment throughout the stay. The diving center operations and services are highly professional, well organized, and managed by an experienced team, which made the diving experience smooth and enjoyable. Most importantly, the staff across the entire resort were outstanding—consistently helpful, cooperative, and attentive, with a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Their professionalism and warm hospitality truly elevated the overall experience. A top-tier resort that delivers on both service quality and operational excellence. Highly recommended
Everything about Atmosphere is outstanding - the rooms, the grounds, food, bars and staff. Even when it’s pretty full, it never feels crowded. The snorkelling trip to Apo Island was fabulous. You should also treat yourself to the spa, especially the watsu treatment.
We had a great time at Atmosphere. It is a very well-designed resort, with tranquil spaces and a nice flow to the place. The yoga treehouse - and yoga classes - were a highlight for us, but the diving/snorkelling were also top class. Apo Island and the house reef are both excellent. The food and drink selections were very good - although we did go into the village a couple of times to get some local variety. Our garden room was good size (albeit we didn't need to use the kitchen at all, except to boil a kettle!)
We stayed at Atmosphere Resorts & Spa in December 2025, and I genuinely have not one negative thing to say about our time there. This beautiful resort exceeded every expectation and delivered an unforgettable holiday in the Philippines. From the moment we arrived, the property impressed us with its impeccable maintenance. The gardens are meticulously manicured, creating a lush, tropical paradise, and the swimming pools are sparkling clean and inviting – perfect for relaxing after a day of diving or exploring. Our room was enormous, spotlessly clean, and wonderfully comfortable – easily one of the best we’ve ever had in a resort. Everything felt luxurious yet welcoming. The food was hands-down the highlight of the dining experience and probably the best hotel food I’ve ever enjoyed. The quality, presentation, and variety were outstanding, with excellent value for money. As my wife is celiac and requires strictly gluten-free options, the kitchen went above and beyond every single day, preparing special dishes for her that weren’t even on the menu. This level of personalized care and attention to dietary needs was truly remarkable and made her feel so valued. The staff are the heart of Atmosphere – they greet you warmly, smile genuinely, and simply cannot do enough to make your stay perfect. Special mentions go to Angelique in the restaurant, who was an absolute delight; Ray, the resort manageress, whose leadership shines through in every detail; the friendly and attentive pool attendants Arvin and Larry and waiters; and the entire dive centre team. The dive centre, capably run by Jan and his exceptional staff, is world-class. I dived with Aldi, who was superb – knowledgeable, safety-focused, and great fun underwater. My son completed his Open Water certification there with Lor, who was incredibly patient and turned what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into an absolute treat. The equipment is top-notch, and the diving itself (including the house reef and nearby sites) is phenomenal – easily some of the best muck and macro diving we’ve encountered. One thing to note for future guests: the beaches in this part of the Philippines (Dauin area) are volcanic with dark sand and pebbles, so they’re not the classic white-sand stretches ideal for long walks. But honestly, the incredible diving more than makes up for it – you come here for the underwater world, not the beach lounging! All in all, Atmosphere Resorts & Spa is a standout luxury dive resort with heartfelt hospitality. We’d give it an 11 out of 10 and can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!will I return you can bet on it, I arrived as a guest and felt like family when I left.
We had such a fantastic time at Atmosphere Resorts & Spa! Our room was spacious and so comfy—the perfect place to crash after a long day. The entire staff was incredibly kind and always ready to help with a smile. The food was also great, though we would’ve loved to see a few more local Filipino dishes on the menu! A huge shoutout to the dive center. They are super professional, and we loved the small groups per guide. It made for some truly fabulous, stress-free dives. Can’t wait to go back!
The room was very spacious and clean, the resort was very well manicured, the food was good at the hotel restaurant, and the staff are very friendly and nice. The staff was very attentive, showing us the different places to dive and they have an extensive Dive team!
Nested in a great location near Apo Island, this resort is a good strategic location for many activities around Dumaguete and a top notch dive center. Grounds are beautiful and the rooms with all necessary amenities including and outside shower ! If you chose this place, you can swim with the whale sharks, visit a fabulous sand bar or dive the marine sanctuary of Apo island !
This Resort is amazing. Very well maintained with a beautiful surrounding, garden, pools, bar, restaurant and the bungalows are fantastic too. The beach is a bit rocky, dark sand but what’s underneath the water again is very beautiful. A big variation of soft and hard corals, a lot of fish and overall a well kept house-reef. The staff is so what of friendly courteous and skilled too. Also the served food is high quality and nicely presented. Not at last to mention the SCUBA diving -base and it’s offered dive-activities and professional schooling. Again high quality gear, competent staff and well maintained boats. Overall a little treasure on this side of the island and something I can recommend without blinking an eye.
Absolutely brilliant dive holiday. The service by all staff is wonderful. The resort is lovely with beautiful rooms, a great spa, good food and just a good vibe. The diving offers something for everyone. I will definitely go again! Enjoy.
If I could give Atmosphere Resort more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. From the moment we arrived, it was pure magic. Our room was incredibly fresh, clean, and beautifully designed, with every amenity we could need and so many thoughtful touches that made it truly comfortable. Delicious breakfasts, cocktails by the lovely clean pools, amazing massages, and a romantic treehouse dinner under the stars where the setup and food completely blew us away. Every meal was top tier. Yoga was both relaxing and challenging, and the free drinks with live music on Thursday night had the perfect vibe. The hospitality was fantastic, with towels, food, and drinks always brought promptly with a smile. A big reason we chose Atmosphere was their inspiring community initiative, the Atmosphere Soup Kitchen ❤️ We were blessed to spend a morning volunteering, serving 85 school children hot meals and vitamins. It was a humbling and heartwarming experience that we’ll never forget. Our Apo Island trip was another highlight, with the friendliest crew and thoughtful touches like hot towels, drinks, and lunch on the water. Special thanks to Ruby, Arvin, Noe, Larry, and Hope for their warmth, care, and the best service we’ve ever experienced. While the resort is on the higher end cost-wise, the experience more than justified it. Atmosphere Resort is pure magic ❤️ If I could rate higher, I would, and we’ll 100% be back with our kids one day!
Amazing place and the team from the reception, to bar and restaurant is amazing I wish I could say longer. Thanks to the team❤️
Incredible on every level. The welcome, the room, the facilities, the staff, the service, the dives, the food and drinks, everything was perfect. We will be back.
Food quality average and overpriced
**Atmosphere Resort and Spa Review - Overall Rating: 7.5/10** We recently spent over two weeks at Atmosphere Resort and Spa, and overall had a wonderful stay thanks primarily to the exceptional staff and outstanding dive operations. **Dive Center - Exceptional (5/5)** The dive center truly sets this resort apart. From managers Jan and Berlinda to our fantastic divemaster Sai, every member of the dive team exceeded expectations. Sai deserves special recognition for his keen eye in spotting marine life and his dedication to finding the creatures we requested to see. The entire operation runs like clockwork - dive schedules were always punctual, equipment was expertly maintained, and group sizes were perfectly intimate (often just one other diver joined my husband and me). The boat crew, captain, and support staff who handled tanks and equipment all contributed to making each dive day seamless and enjoyable. **Staff - Outstanding (5/5)** The service culture at Atmosphere is truly remarkable. Reception staff were consistently helpful with local recommendations and any questions that arose during our stay. The housekeeping team operated like well-coordinated ninjas - we'd leave our room only to return to find it immaculately cleaned and restocked with coffee and milk, yet we barely saw them during our entire stay. The bar staff and bartenders welcomed us with genuine smiles every day, creating a warm atmosphere during our lunch visits while clearly enjoying great camaraderie among themselves. The restaurant wait staff remembered our daily preferences - from drinks and food choices to our preferred seating - demonstrating the kind of personalized attention that makes a stay truly memorable. I requested a couple off the menu items for dinner during out stay and the kitchen staff did an excellent job satisfying my taste buds! Thank you. **Accommodations - Mixed Experience (6/10)** While the resort grounds are maintained immaculately, our room configuration was less than ideal. The bathroom, including the toilet, is located outside the main room - technically part of the suite but fully exposed to the outdoor elements. This means using the facilities or showering involves dealing with bugs, humidity, and mosquitoes, particularly uncomfortable after a hot shower when you're already sweating in the humid air. If we return, we would definitely request a room with an indoor, air-conditioned bathroom. Additionally, while the resort has backup generators for power outages (which did occur), the generator positioned directly outside our room was quite loud when it kicked in. **Food - Good but Room for Improvement (7/10)** The food quality was solid, though not exceptional. While some dishes were quite good, others were merely adequate. My main disappointment was the heavily Western-focused menu featuring pasta, pizza, and steaks. As travelers who seek authentic local cuisine experiences, we found the lack of local specialties disappointing. A daily local special would have been a welcome addition to showcase the destination's culinary culture. After two weeks, the static menu became repetitive, and the desserts were overly sweet for my taste. **Spa - Needs Improvement (2/10)** Unfortunately, the spa experience fell short of expectations. The outdoor treatment rooms lack air conditioning, making sessions uncomfortably hot and sweaty. More concerning was the lack of privacy - curtains remained wide open during treatments while construction was ongoing nearby, creating an uncomfortable situation where anyone walking by could observe sessions in progress. These issues significantly detracted from what should be a relaxing experience. **Gym - Disappointing (2/10)** The outdoor "warrior gym" concept doesn't work well in practice. With daily rainfall during our stay, equipment was consistently wet, and the outdoor location attracted numerous bugs. For the price point of this resort, an indoor facility with basic cardio equipment like treadmills would be expected and appreciated, especially for guests who prefer not to run on the main road or around the resort in low-light conditions. **Overall** Despite some facility shortcomings, the exceptional staff and world-class dive operations make Atmosphere Resort and Spa a destination worth considering, particularly for diving enthusiasts. The genuine warmth and professionalism of the entire team, combined with immaculately maintained grounds, create a welcoming atmosphere that compensates for other areas needing improvement. With better room selection and realistic expectations about certain amenities, this resort offers a solid vacation experience.
great place fantastic staff brilliant dive team , nothing is too much...WILL BE BACK! food is excellent and will help with anything
We had 2 rooms, one with the private pool and the other was a family room. The room with private pool was wonderful. Hoping to see some over water pool rooms in the future, similar to the Maldives.
Atmosphere is a specal place with amazing people. The food, service, rooms were all exceptional. Ive been there twice and will go back again. Its the perfect island experience in the Philippines
Had the best experience at Atmosphere Resort with super-friendly staff and excellent service. An amazing spa, nestled in the middle of nature, provides an exceptional experience. Got my son certified there as an Open Water diver with Jaan, who is an amazing instructor, knowledgeable and patient. The diving in Dauin is beautiful, and you get to see a lot of macro. Seahorses are easily found there, and of course, turtles. Totally recommended and definitely coming back.
Nestled in the serene embrace of nature, we spent three blissful days and two peaceful nights at a resort that felt like a dream. It was a surprise getaway for my beloved parents, and watching them unwind in the tranquil surroundings was a gift in itself. Each morning, we savored the luxury of a floating breakfast in our villa, the gentle ripples of the water adding to the calm of the moment. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the enchanting birthday dinner in the treehouse, where the soft glow of candlelight danced among the leaves, creating a magical atmosphere. With every detail attended to, the service was nothing short of excellent, making our time at this oasis a truly rejuvenating experience. It was a beautiful reminder of the joy that comes
I do not usually write reviews, but this is important information to share with potential guests. 3 out of our group of 12 were sickened with an E-coli bacterial infection from the food while staying for a week at the resort. One person had to report it to the CDC upon returning to the US. I ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks and nearly died. I got sick on my last day and, traveling alone, had moved to another resort before the serious symptoms set in. The Atmosphere management team was aware of my illness but did not communicate or do ANYTHING to assist while I was sick, except to pass on their well wishes through my travel agent. After I was discharged from the hospital, they sent an email wishing me a speedy recovery and a promise they would "look into" their food & beverage practices. This dismissive attitude for a life-threatening situation is not acceptable. I do not want anyone else to get sick from this resort or potentially worse! To date, they have not confirmed that they have found or rectified the E-coli source. The grounds ARE beautiful. However, the hotel has an overall "corporate" feel. It does not show off the Filipino warmth and hospitality. The staff seem to unnaturally be trying to please the guests which comes across as artificial. I also found the beds to be very uncomfortable. I do, however, recommend the dive operations which were excellent. You can stay at another place "off campus" and use their dive operations. Just don't eat the food!
This beautiful resort just gets better every year. The addition of the inspirational reception area tells you a lot about the wonderful grounds and accommodations you are about to experience. Although the grounds and many apartments are extensive, we never felt as though it was too big or too busy to be well looked after. All the staff were very polite, attentive, knew us by our first names and looked after our every need - special GF dietary requirements and scuba diving preferences - without feeling cramped. The scuba diving is wonderful as are the guides and boats. We will definitely return.
The availability of private dinners
The high prices
Absolutely brilliant stay! Our fourth time here and our favourite place ever to visit, it’s just like coming home to family. The staff are all amazing and nothing is ever too much trouble. The food is always varied and delicious, and the accommodation is stunning. The new reception area is simply beautiful. Love love love it at Atmosphere!
We spent 6 nights in this amazing hotel. We were part of a group and were amazed at how well they looked after us all. All the staff were very attentive and happy to help with whatever they could and very genuine in nature. The massages were some of the best my husband and I have had. The food was top quality. The rooms were spacious and beautiful. We got an upgrade with a plunge pool which we were very grateful for. This is by far the best place we have ever stayed in. It was incredible! Thankyou to all the staff who made our stay so memorable.
We’ve just returned from our stay at Atmosphere. We travelled as a part of a group. The resort is lovely and tranquil and the ability to go and snorkel from the beach on the beautiful reef and see turtles was very special. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with a huge bed. Facilities were great with 3 pools to choose from. An indoor gym would be a welcome addition. The current gym offering is quite substandard. The spa treatments were lovely and the staff were experts in making you feel relaxed and pampered. Massages were the best I’ve ever had. Rooms were refreshed every day with an evening turn down service. The restaurant menu is vast and all meals were delicious with an excellent wine and cocktails choice, and of a quality you’d find at a high end restaurant. The staff really made the stay special. I’ve not been anywhere else where the staff are so friendly, attentive and helpful. They deserve more than 5 stars. We loved it and would definitely recommend.
Sorry I wasted my money here. I had visited a few years ago when we were treated so very well but now things have definitely been let go. The spa, not only over booked us but then insisted we just share rooms while getting a treatment. No people - we do NOT share with staff particularly when we had specifically requested and had appointments booked at separate times but the spa team didn’t care at all. And the treatment themselves, I finally had to have mine in an upstairs back bedroom hotel room - was very average as the therapist had to run into the bathroom to cough, a very nasty sounding cough which clearly showed she was sick and should not have been working. Never again. So no word when I complained until three days later when someone finally contacted me to offer one of us a replacement massage. Seriously!! Poor.
Wild Earth Expeditions has now visited Atmosphere 4 times and every time it's a fantastic stay and we are well looked after. It's a gorgeous resort property, the food is delicious, the dive team are outstanding, management is doing a great job, and the muck diving is simply fantastic. Green turtles on almost all dives. The drift dives, walls and soft corals of Apo island are equally stunning. Thanks again for a fabulous stay...we'll be back
The staff, attentive and kind, and how beautiful the place is. The food is amazing, and the diving center is top notch
Bathrooms need a refresh
A very well managed resort. Kudos to all the staff for their undivided attention and dedication to us and all their clients. The food was well balanced though the menu can be more creative. The rooms were spacious though some of the amenities were not working well. Kudos to Jan and Berlinda for their tip top dive operations and logistics. We will be back in April 2026.
The place is beautiful and well kept. View was excellent and pools top of the line. You cant go into the ocean as you would a regular beach, but no big deal, plenty lof lounge chairs and great pools. Restaurant and all the staff also top notch. The gym is not a gym; it's a bit of a joke. My main complaint is that i rented a boat to go on for snorkeling, I have a fake knee and hip. They should have mentioned somewhere that there was a degree of difficulty getting on the boat and getting off. I couldn't go snorkeling because if it, fortunately my wife was able to so that was good. Then I found out I could have just went snorkeling without having to go on a boat. so the whole reason i went was not done. I enjoyed the pools, the views, the staff and food, but they should be forthcoming about the difficulties some might have getting on off a boat. The gym in not a gym either, it just some random small equipment
This is a beautiful resort with both a top notch full concierge dive center and spa. All of the staff is impeccably trained and attentive. The diving is beautiful though you won’t see BIG stuff here. The little stuff is amazing though! If I were pressed and HAD to find something to improve, I’d say the food is slightly bland somewhat uninspired. But, honestly, it’s quality is impeccable.
Incredibly attentive staff and beautifully maintained resort. Quality of food was excellent. Pool villa was exceptional. There is construction of the new lobby that will help with the check-in process. I would suggest perhaps an option for golf cart transfer from the entrance to the rooms near the pool if possible. Also, might be an idea for the resort to hire specific pedi cab drivers as an alternative to the expensive rate charged for a car and driver. The resort was able to arrange a pedi cab for me and my partner to and from Dumaguete…great experience. I would add an option for a tour/ transfer to a good, sandy beach from the resort (different from the tour to Apo island). Food was amazing, the Bolognaise pasta tasted like the al ragu that I had…in Bologna.🤩
The Scuba Dive center was really good, always ready to cover what I was looking for. The restaurant service was low average, the room was full of ants and the bathroom didn't work with a water leak all the time.
Had an incredible experience diving here at atmosphere resort! Was my first time diving and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life! All the staff were so welcoming and lovely throughout our whole stay! Want to say special thankyou to our instructor Lawe who was so kind , supportive and made the course so much fun! Also special Thank you to Jasmine , nae nae , Wes who joined and helped during our diving and made it so much fun! Thankyou to Larry and Ed who made our Philippines holiday alot of fun and introduced us to the culture and life in the Philippines! Finally thanks to GM Rae and Berlinda who was so supportive and made our holiday amazing! Hopefully I can come back soon! 🤿🐡🐠 Thanks Michael
The resort atmosphere offered us what we were looking for when we came to dive in the Philippines: spacious rooms offering luxurious comfort and beautiful privacy in a beautiful, well-maintained garden, a dive center offering some of the best service we've ever encountered (and we've dived in many countries) and incredible underwater scenery (for macro lovers), and a wonderful team dedicated to ensuring your stay goes smoothly. We were even surprised to see them anticipate our requests. The only downside was the seafood or shellfish dishes, which you always expect to see cheap in an island country, but are quite expensive. All in all, we highly recommend you to stay here. If possible, we would love to make it our second home.
The best party of my stay is definitely the attention to detail. All of the staff are smiling and are happy to help. The dive team are incredible and knowledgeable. Special shout out to Rae, Larry, Ed, Berlinda, Lor and Jaz for your time, energy and patience! I will be back! Kind regards James
Absolutely incredible resort! The staff really make this place next level - everyone is friendly and helpful and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a wonderful stay. The food was phenomenal - a lot of choice and variety. The dive Centre is truly amazing - all of the staff are incredible knowledgeable, friendly, and want to help ensure you have an amazing experience. It’s an impressive operation with dozens of divers and everything is perfectly organized.
The hotel is located in Dauin, where most resorts are found. The landscape is beautiful and gives a sense of both luxury and comfort. Since it's far from the city, it feels exclusive, peaceful, and relaxing. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with refreshing drinks. The staff were very friendly and gave us a quick tour of the place. On our first night, we tried dishes from their restaurant. The food was excellent—everything we ordered was seasoned perfectly. The restaurant staff were very attentive, and the ambiance was superb. Highly recommended for special occasions. After dinner, we returned to our room and were pleasantly surprised to find it already cleaned and made up. The bed was tidy, and the towels were neatly arranged. Impressive how they managed to do this while we were out. The next morning, we asked the staff to prepare packed breakfasts since we had an early excursion. Even though the restaurant was still closed, they prepared and delivered our meals on time. Just like dinner, the breakfast was delicious and high quality. They even included packed fruits to go with it. When we got back for our second night, we were greeted with handwritten notes and sweet treats. A really thoughtful touch. Overall, our stay at Atmosphere Resorts and Spa was amazing. The peaceful surroundings made for a restful and energizing sleep. The mattress and pillows were soft and clean. Highly recommended! We’ll definitely book again when we return to Dumaguete.
I want to highlight the Atmosphere Crew for their incredible kindness and commitment to an amazing experience for the guests. I dealt with the dive shop, reception, outings guides, spa, groundskeepers, housekeepers, maintenance crew. The attitude of the staff is so kind and accommodating. Everyone went out of their way to ensure my every need was met, from extra coffee in my room, safe and exciting diving, incredible meals and wait staff! The staff of Atmosphere truly make this resort shine! A few special shout outs, Ricky my dive master, Daniel, Zuria, and Ranelle, my tour guides, and especially Sir Ed!! Ed looked after a big group of us and made sure we were all looked after. Really appreciate this man! Walking onto the beautifully landscaped grounds of the property, you are met with clean, graceful buildings. The layout of the property is long and narrow and makes the best use of the space that it can. I hear there are a few renovations and upgrades happening in the near future! I’m sure they will be as beautiful and tasteful as the rest of the property. The Dive Shop💕 I enjoyed all of my dives here at this beautiful location. The crew at the dive shop is exceptional. They are very knowledgeable and look after you even if you are not in their group! The shop is managed wonderfully and the staff are treated very well. Ultimately, the high level of service, beautiful rooms, safe grounds and quality of the food and service will bring me back. Thank you for a wonderful experience!! ~Elizabeth C
I write as I'm preparing to depart this excellent dive resort after a too-short stay. Our two-bedroom suite was huge, comfortable and well designed. The main living space was not air-conditioned but kept reasonably cool by ceiling fans; the two bedrooms were comfortably cooled. Bedding was superbly comfortable. The dive operation is top-notch with personal, attentive service to every need. They send a maximum of four guests per dive guide so both safety and findingviewing sea life are optimized. Also I note that they separate big-rig photographers from other divers so that we don't interfere with one another's viewing. Dive sites were vibrant with hard and soft coral and an abundance of sea life. The schedule was efficient, everyone was perfectly punctual and the staff took meticulous care of all of our gear before and after dives. The resort itself is lush, serene and beautifully maintained. The all-day dining venue was lovely, but after five or six days one might want some other options. The included breakfast was huge with plenty of choices, both nutritious and not. This is a fairly dedate place where people come to dive, enjoy a quiet drink and dinner and retire to rest for tomorrow. There is not an active bar scene, which suits me fine but might disappoint more party-oriented divers. The staff arranged for us to get a tuk-tuk into Dauin to try some other restaurants, which proved to be inexpensive and fun, with about a ten-minute voyage into town. Guests are mostly European with some Japanese and Aussies. Everyone who works here and every guest that we met speaks good English. Overall, I'd definitely rank this as a superb choice for anyone who want a dive-centered vacation in a beautiful setting.
Excellent stay. Really enjoyed the pool facilities, accommodation and the food. All top notch. Great service by all staff who work there.
Our second visit to Atmosphere and it was just as good the second time around. The resort hits a rare sweet spot between attentive service/ attention to detail and a truly relaxed and friendly vibe with zero stuffiness. The dive centre is super professional and organised with several boats going out each morning (special shout out to Lor for taking our teens through their advanced open water certificate), rooms are comfortable, quiet and set within beautifully landscaped gardens and the food is consistently excellent. The spa, daily yoga classes and happy hour cocktails at the beach bar were also highlights of our stay. Cannot fault Atmosphere - is a truly wonderful resort.
Unexpected but wonderful stay
It was a great 4 day vacation! The food was remarkable, each meal I was looking forward to. The staff were kind and took initiative to make sure we were comfortable. It was clean and spacious, and the vibe was elegant and chill. Beach isn’t white, but pools were superb!! Loved it!!!!
Great location, serene, staff great!
A tropical garden resort is not the first place you would expect to have an absolute fine dining experience— but the 6 course menu we had at Atmosphere Treehouse is in the top three of best meals of my life. Executive chef Jun outdid himself — not only was the presentation superb, the taste of each dish was clear and delicious. Sommelier Ed did an outstanding job pairing the wine for each course, there was a harmonious pairing of food and wine that is very hard to achieve. Overall, this experience rates 10/10 and I would highly recommend to celebrate and commemorate memorable life events to make them truly unforgettable!
If you're searching for paradise on earth, look no further than Atmosphere Resort in Dauin, Philippines. This remarkable resort delivers an experience that is nothing short of perfection. Here's why it deserves a glowing 5-star review: The Atmosphere Resort begins its charm the moment you arrive. From the parking lot, you're greeted by an expansive, beautifully manicured lawn. Walking across it feels like stepping into another world, with the open space inviting a sense of calm and wonder. The vibrant greenery stretches before you, creating a serene, almost meditative transition from the outside world. As you make your way down the lawn toward the reception, the landscape unfolds into an enchanting tropical oasis. The reception area, with its warm, open-air design, perfectly sets the tone for the tranquil luxury that awaits you throughout the property. This entrance is not just an introduction—it’s a prelude to paradise. Atmosphere Resort offers a harmonious blend of luxury, adventure, and relaxation. The food is an absolute delight, with every meal a culinary masterpiece. From fresh, flavorful local dishes to international cuisine prepared with finesse, the dining experience will leave you eagerly anticipating your next meal. The service is top-notch, with every staff member exuding warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is seamless and memorable, making you feel like the most valued guest. For diving enthusiasts, this place is a dream come true. The diving staff provides a concierge-level experience, taking meticulous care of your equipment to ensure everything is handled with expertise and convenience. They also feature an incredible camera room designed specifically for underwater photography enthusiasts. It's a haven for divers who want to prepare and maintain their gear with ease and precision, adding an extra touch of luxury to the diving experience. The dive sites themselves are world-class, showcasing the stunning beauty of Dauin’s underwater wonders. The rooms are pure luxury, and we were fortunate enough to have our very own pool attached to ours. This private little oasis elevated the experience even further, making it feel like our own secluded slice of paradise. Spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed, the rooms provide the perfect retreat after a day of adventure or relaxation. While the resort does not feature sandy beaches, its rocky shoreline offers beautiful, dramatic views and easy access to incredible diving just steps from the property. The lush, tranquil grounds and stunning pools more than compensate for the lack of sandy shores, creating a serene environment that encourages relaxation. Lastly, the entire property is a haven of serenity. Surrounded by vibrant greenery and pristine views, the resort feels like a slice of heaven where you can truly unwind and recharge. Atmosphere Resort isn't just a place to stay—it's a destination that leaves an indelible mark on your heart. I couldn't recommend it more for anyone looking for an extraordinary escape. Five stars, and then some! 🌟
Super diving resort with very friendly and attentive staff. Lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bath villa was perfect for 4 of us. Would highly recommend
Staff well trained and quick to respond to customer needs
Out side shower is a nice concept but too many mosquitos.
Incredible resort! Food was amazing! Staff were unlike any we've experienced anywhere; extremely attentive and helpful. Known for their dive shop, they did not disappoint. Valet diving at its best! Incredible beach and 3 separate pools. Spent 10 days in paradise. Thanks to Jennifer, Edward and especially Larry for their top-notch care! We would definitely return.
Property was idyllic and attentive staff. The only issue was the electrical power points in the room which made it hard to charge phones and computers.
Stayed at atmosphere from 26th January to 9th February. From the minute you arrive to the day you leave you are treated with warmth and a smiling face. The deluxe villa we stayed in is lovely and cleaned every day with fresh water available in your room. The food served in the Breeze Restaurant is exceptional and tasty and made and served with passion. Jacor, Annie and Gemma always had a smile and a greeting for us. The diving both locally and at Apo Island is some of the best in the world for Reefs, Marine life and critters to see and experience. My dive Guide Arjay was brilliant and could spot any critters on the sand, coral or muck banks. A great place also to relax after diving with a great bar!!
This is our second time staying and diving at Atmosphere Resort and once again 5/5 experience! The resort is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. The diving is great (if you love macro this is the place to be!) with a well run dive operation. The food is superb and the facilities - spa, villas etc excellent.
My wife and I stayed at Atmosphere Resort & Spa in January 2025- it is a very special place. We came for the wonderful scuba diving, which includes both muck and reef diving. The resort’s standard ratio of divers to dive guide is 4 to 1, but we had our own dive guide (Ian) assigned to the two of us for the whole 10 days we were there. The diving was exceptional, and, thanks to Ian, we saw so many critters that are either rare or nonexistent at other dive resorts we have been to. Within the first 10 dives, I saw the 3 bucket list critters on my list for this trip (blue-ringed octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, and banded sea krait). We also saw lots of sea turtles, wonderpus, seahorses, lots of frogfish, coconut octopus, cuttlefish, juvenile harlequin sweetlips, candy crab, mantis shrimp, spiny tiger shrimp, banded pipefish (juvenile and adult), and numerous nudibranchs. Every dive was fantastic! In addition to diving, I also spent many hours snorkeling on the lovely house reef where I saw a moray eel, numerous sea turtles, sea anemones, cornetfish, lots of beautiful healthy coral, and countless tropical fish. They have many excursions on land and in water that you can choose from. We would have liked to go on some of the land excursions, but we weren’t willing to sacrifice a day of diving! We didn’t take advantage of the spa. Honestly, it was a bit more expensive than other resorts we’ve been to and anyway we came to dive. The grounds are gorgeous, and we saw staff attending to them all day long. The view from everywhere is stunning! Our room was spacious, clean, and very well thought-out (lots of outlets)! Perfect for those of us with lots of batteries to recharge. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. The food at Atmosphere was head and shoulders above every other dive resort we’ve been to. They have their own bakery, so you have fresh baked bread at every meal. They have an open kitchen, so you can watch them cooking your meal. Their menu was broad, with both European and Filipino delicacies. There were several items on the menu I really wanted to try, but never got around to ordering because I so frequently ordered the daily specials. The food was just insanely good! We are already talking about planning our next trip to Atmosphere!
Staying at the Atmosphere was a real treat. The environment and settings of this place were stunning. The snorkeling and mountain biking were well organized and great fun. But the best thing about this place where the people who own and run the Atmosphere . It’s all about the people!! A big thanks to Bee for facilitating the water based activities and to Larry for his excellent sundown cocktails. The food in the restaurant was Michelin standard-a big thank you to all the chefs and wonderful friendly staff - nothing is too much trouble Give the Atmosphere a try you will not be disappointed!!
We had poor experience but tried to keep this review focused on our overall impressions. Would not return, not special enough for money, but if diving main focus then may be a good option. Resort itself is a dive centre with accommodation, restaurant and spa, not a luxury resort. Dive centre appeared proficient (we didn’t use). The staff were friendly and eager to please but service not slick. Main restaurant offers too much choice and suffers from doing nothing well. For example, despite a pizza oven the result was more like toasted bread with some toppings. Ocean restaurant doesn’t really exist, just an upsell dining experience and food quality not worth the high costs. Room rustic rather than luxurious, bed uncomfortable, no curtains so light pollution severe and unfortunately there was building work noise well past darkness. Resort offers tours to nearby islands. There is no pier or dock to access boats for these trips, you have to wade out into sea and make way up precarious gangplank with rail held alongside. I’m over 6 feet and water well above my waist getting on and off and I found the whole process very stressful and was convinced I would fall. Sea was also rougher than we expected. Whilst there, both my wife and I suspect we had food poisoning, management argued it was a bug! Whatever it was ruined our stay, and to avoid similar problems I would encourage anyone staying to be very careful. The hygiene standards we saw at the Beach Bar for example below standard.
Everything is excellent
This is a 5-star diving resort. The property is stunning. The rooms were large and had every comfort required. The food was incredible and every staff member was attentive and friendly. They even supplied hot facial towels after snorkelling/diving and welcomed us with a drink straight off the boat. There were many pools to choose along with many dining options. A beautiful place to stay, we didn't want to leave! Well done Atmospher, truly a first class experience.
Great diving and snorkelling
The beach is not cleaned very well and the hotel is rundown
The property itself is beautiful! The dive centre and the spa were the absolute highlights. The staff at the dive centre were very attentive, accommodating and the facilities were fantastic. One of the best dive centres I’ve had the pleasure to dive with. The Spa was also great, although on the pricier side, the treatments were fantastic and the facilities were great. The room was well sized and the bed was great! We really enjoyed the outdoor shower. The reason for four stars was the resort aspect of it. The room did not come with any vanity kits (toothpaste toothbrush shower cap etc), we asked for an iron or steamer for the clothes after a very long flight and they could not provide any but wanted us to use the laundry service with an added charge. These would be amenities I would expect in a four star hotel of this price bracket. The portion sizes at the hotel restaurant breeze were so small and very over priced. Breakfast was also limited from a set menu… with additional charges on extra items- again I expected more as the charges are very high and it is rated to be a four star. Overall we had a good stay, the reception staff were very helpful especially in arranging taxis, tricycles for us to go for dinner at restaurants in town etc! Thank you!
Very very good hotel with an exceptional in house restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable and hotel benefits from a great house reef and connections to the stunning Apo Island where we saw possibly the most beautiful reefs we’ve ever seen, amazing sea life and turtles! We were snorkelling but the hotel is a dream for divers.
In my view its a beautiful mixture of east meets west with Filipino flair.
Lots of activities can choose and take during stay
Had a lovely stay here. The staff are great and they go above and beyond to make you feel special and looked after. From friendly gardeners, to smiling restaurant staff, to cheery bar staff, and exceptional dive staff who work all work incredibly hard. Diving was great and so flexible for whatever suits the guest. Really enjoyed our stay- oh and the massage was the best I have had!
great view
A beautiful resort with friendly and attentive staff.
Perfect place to relax and recharge like me I came from the airport and just hours and minutes ago as soon as I arrived me and my nieces, nephews, friends and relatives was very excited to see and what atmosphere can offer since it’s was all our first time to go and stay for a night even if we’re just live close by., but me being on a vacation mode wants to explore it with family and friends to relax and enjoy the ambiance of the resort.
We had a nice stay.
I like the staff. From the grounds keepers to the front desk. Every single person made sure you were taken care of.
T
Rooms were spacious and clean and food was good…nice place to relax … excellent diving facilities with a good beach n reef in front…
All Good
Great hotel great staff several pools overlooking the sea . Food in the restaurant was excellent but pricey, the restaurant need to re think their deserts , especially the sorbet which was terrible and their portion sizes need to increase . We suggest that rather then use the Super expensive hotel spa , you go outside , get a bike taxi for 150 pesos to Dauin “high street” there are 2 great spas , one is limspa (A tenth of the price of the hotel ) the other is the blind spa which I did not experience but heard was also excellent .
