Comfy, nice property, everything you would need for a short stay. Nice bathroom
Not much parking due to popular campground next door. Outdated TV and few outlets. Not a lot of privacy on ground floor with so many people walking around
We didn’t get a breakfast.
My bed was very uncomfortable. But I have a bad back so it’s difficult. Also, the curtains are very thin and the light was on outside right outside our bedroom.
The property was clean, spacious and excellent value for money. The staff were welcoming and very accommodating. The setting was beautiful will lovely views. I will definitely be returning in the future
Great location,very comfortable
Lovely clean property
Nothing
Stylish, beautifully renovated room. Great size, comfortable, lovely bathroom, huge bed. Really helpful owner who I didn’t meet but answered any questions really quickly. A few minutes drive to Dolgellau. Plenty of parking on a lovely site.
Nothing
Sandra gave me & my daughter vouchers to use at a local cafe in Dolgellau which I really would recommend. I've been to Dolgellau before & love the mountains so the location was perfect. The facilities in the b&b were more than adequate & the owner (Sandra) was very hospitable & welcoming. Would go there again for another holiday!
Very comfy and clean. Well organised self check-in.
Was isolated and very quiet. Close to the area I wanted to visit.
Tv remote didn’t work, was told it would be replaced but wasn’t! Unfortunately I got the only room with a bath and with my mobility issues I wasn’t able to climb in it so couldn’t use the shower plus the stairs to my room were difficult for me.
Good location for Dolgellau. Very picturesque. Loved the character and the oldness of the place, so much history and original features in the property. Which you had to be mindful of The staff we met were extremely polite, friendly and helpful.
The signage to turn into the Guesthouse could have been a lot clearer as it was on a narrow lane and was not easy to see when arriving first time. Was very easy to turn down the lane to the farm, was not easy to reverse out. My bed was on a slant, so had to be careful not to move too much when asleep coz I would easily have rolled out. The step down into the room was a little scary too... but these were accepted as part of the oldness of the place.
Location
I didn't speak to a member of staff. There wasn't a very secure lock on the door. It was not very clean.
A characterful property, well presented and very clean. Very close to the wonderful Torrent Walk.
Nothing it was great
beautiful setting. Cheap and cheerful which is what I was after.
for a 6'2" man the ceilings were a bit low.
The cottage and location is very clean.
Need an extra chair as there was 3 people and only a 2 seater sofa. The room is a little dark but other than that, it was enjoyable.
Excellent location- short drive to Dolgellau but also site has rural feel. Our apartment had small front garden and patio, facing onto campsite.
Our twin room was clean and comfortable but we would have liked a bit more space.
Lovely, well equipped comfortable cottage. Great location.
Nothing
Comfortable b n b in the middle of nowhere.
Doesn’t serve many breakfast options - for cooked breakfast you need to go into town!
Room was small. Outdated and not well ventilated
Inb ogni caso è molto tranquilla e appartata. Sufficienti parcheggi a disposizione.
Zeer leuke kamer modern ingericht
Location is great and the cottage vibe is amazing.... A great buzz from campers and you also feel secluded.....
Everything was good but hallway carpet might need deep cleaning and also please provide recycling bin to assist with recycling
Location, the staff were helpful and the room was spotless and had plenty of facilities.
Door to the room is a barn door so has holes in it which was actually a plus to let some air in (room is next to horses so a lot of flies when you want to let some cool air in when opening the door). TV is old and turns on at 3am in the night if not switched off at the wall, either an electrical issue or it's haunted? Our logical brains went with the latter at 3am and couldn't sleep afterwards!
Lovely room very clean and well equipped
Friendly staff, elegant country atmosphere, great place to see the sites from before coming back and relaxing in the hot tub and jacuzzi. Plenty of parking. Kitchenette in room had microwave, hob and kettle to cook with. Local petrol station stocked plenty of food options for cooking.
Had common internet issues with bandwidth dropping at peak times from lack of QOS and bandwidth shaping. Old school TV turned itself on and off at times, we just unplugged and used a tablet. As much as I loved the kitchenette, it lacked a stove or air fryer making it important to verify ready to cook items were compatible with hob or microwave cooking.
The guesthouse itself is so lovely and full of history. The room was very cosy and the beds were so comfy.
Communication could have been better - breakfast was advertised in the guest book as on site from 7:30am but after a quick conversation with the owners, it was actually at a local place in town - it was all resolved very quickly!
Very clean room , with a very comfortable bed and a little fridge , very handy!! Staff were excellent , views were fab . Plent of on site facilitys.
Interesting, historical, quirky. The birds and wildflowers. Seating areas in the gardens. We would have liked to book the cottage, but the spiral staircase was unsuitable for my 80+yr old mum. We loved the jacuzzi!
Very close to a large campsite. It was quiet though. Not many parking spaces. Had to drive off site for breakfast.
Great location really quiet at night. Breakfast voucher for Y Sosban was brilliant.
As it is so very hot an email asking if we wanted just a sheet rather than a warm duvet would have been a really nice touch. Really dark in the bathroom a second light in there would be useful.
Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I love the rooms and also being a regular once you have seen a few of the cottages you can try request a specific room that has something you like about it in my case one of the beds has no footboard and I'm really tall so I love getting that particular room everytime I stay. Love eating outside in the communal garden. Perfect for the mach loop visits Only a few minutes from cad parking so practically on the doorstep. You can get visitors from 8am to 8pm low level right over the cottages if entering from the west. Town of Dolgellau is only a few mins away for shopping/eating Amazing gold sand beaches from Barmouth to Harlech only a maximum of 45mins away.
Location was excellent / family suite was excellent will definitely be staying there again
Everything was great
Beautiful location and charming old buildings and a newer one that are the rooms. Excellent bathrooms and comfortable bed. Very clean. Hosts were helpful when we had requests.
There is also a camping site that shares the location. This orderly and well run, however it did mean it was a bit busier than expected, but not a problem. Parking became a bit tight at night when everyone was in.
The staff were really helpful in assisting me to find a taxi to take me into Dolgellau. Love the rural location, like the historic building, the room was the right size for one night. Bathroom clean and tidy. There was a nice quantity of tea and coffee.
My bed was clean, tidy, and comfortable, but it squeaked every time I moved. That's about it.
Spacious
Upstairs extremely hot due to the hot spell but little ventilation and air flow solely from the Velux window in the bedroom. Made it an uncomfortable night. No window in shower room. Thought the £184.30 was pricey for a one night stay.
Very nice location and comfy room. Liked the bathroom as well as the tables and chairs outside. Perfect for a stop over or a couple of nights to sight see and less the 10 minutes from the mach loop
Nothing, just perfect.
I had single room with my own bathroom.
The bed leaned to one side causing me to roll out of the bed.
The breakfast was great and Sandra was super helpful - location was very good and room lovely !
Not being picky - the TV could be bigger n sharper we watched Wimbledon !!
Location was good and on friendly camp site. Apartment was clean and tidy with good appliances.
Bathroom was too dark Shower overall was to small, opening door was too narrow Outside space was limited for space , drinks only.
Beautiful surroundings
Great apartment, good views, sitting out area and peaceful.
Breakfast or meals on site
Didn’t get to have breakfast as it was closed when we had to leave
Location was great Lovely cottage feel
Location was amazing and cottage was perfect for our needs .
The only slight thing they could improve on was if there could be a mirror in the bedroom as the only one in the accommodation was in the bathroom and made using .y hair dryer difficult
Easy booking system, with quick checking and out. Room clean and fine for single travellers.
Had no issues during my 2 day stay but lane narrow to the site.
Location nice and rural. All clean. Reasonably well equipped kitchen.
Some finishing a bit "non-luxury" for instance a bit of peeling on cupboard doors, a slightly wobbly toilet seat. Head room in bedroom was very low and beam rather close to bed.
Beautiful location, the room was beautiful with everything you need.
Pillows we're abit hard other than that everything was perfect.
Lovely old building. Liked the downstairs guest lounge. Nice to have an opportunity to sit in the cool although a fan was provided in the room (it was a bit hotter as our room was upstairs) Easy self cgeck-in.
There was a flashing clock on the bathroom mirror. No big deal really just a bit annoying and we shd have mentioned it to reception but only there 1 night.
Lovely building, location, super friendly and accommodating staff and owners.
Breakfast not on site. Need to drive to town with provided vouchers. However the breakfast was very good
The actual place is idyllic, beautiful old building tastefully renovated. Staff very lovely and welcoming. Great location but a little out of town so car or taxi needed to get into Dol, otherwise about 30 mins to walk. Lovely little tranquil garden to sit outside and snug snug for cosy sitting around the fire. you can either have continental breakfast on site or have vouchers for breakfast in town....we went into town and it was very tasty. Great hot chocolate.
Unfortunately the sauna and jacuzzi weren't hot when we arrived..thesr are.also located in a place with little view....we had a smell of newly corked bathroom (I appreciate maintenance has to happen but try using some less potent items or fully ventilate the room afterwards.... Although the bed itself was really comfortable, the pillows were too high and hard for me (memory foam) and it was too late to ask for any different ones when we went to bed. Always good to have an option of a soft spare....great idea for kitchen cabinet but the fridge made quite a lot of noise in the night and, for some reason, the TV randomly turned on in the middle of the night too. We only stayed for one night and it is lovely so don't be put off. If we'd stayed longer I would've just had a word with reception and I'm sure they would have fixed all for us.
The location is beautiful. The room is very cute and cosy, really embracing the “cottage” feel.
Location
dog friendly
Parking can be a struggle but we managed
We absolutely loved everything about this place. Sandra was amazing! Gardens were beautiful. Well kept site. Very cute and beautiful location.
Leaving.
Safe and secluded garden. Outlook to mountains. Easy to reach places of interest.
More information about walks in local area. A dog walking field. A little more kitchen equipment such as bowls for fruit or salad, bread knife and trays. The new TV did not allow us to watch normal terrestrial channels such as BBC1&2 and ITV unless we logged on to IPlayer etc. Lot of traffic noise from motor bikes at the weekend.
Location. Property.
Can't rate staff didn't see anyone !
Facilities clean and quaint. Hosts were welcoming.

Quiet location.
Parking arrangements - had to park on a camping pitch. The low level door heights and limited headroom in the shower.
Size and space of accommodation; Welcome small touches (milk in fridge, tea-making facilities); Lovely rural location; Easy check-in and check out arrangements.
Didn't dislike anything. All was good!
The house, location and views were amazing. The outdoor area and furniture was great for families. The rooms were lovely and comfy. The games rooms were awesome for the kids. It was just set up so well for families. Loved the free firewood and how the fir was all set up, lovely touches. We all had a great time...We will be back!
The kitchen just cook have had more utensils and equipment. We love to cook and it didn't always have all of the things we needed to cook big family dinners and the roast on the Sunday.
Ate in town.
Only continental.
The tranquility of being in the countryside, great walks, local garage with shop.
I think there were private living quarters next to our room, we had room 2, and late at night and awful lot of bumping and banging going on as if they had the builders in, it was up to midnight.
Dolgellau is a fantastic small town with lots of amenities- co-op is good for food, shops are well stocked with bakery items and restaurants are reasonably priced- people are very friendly and helpful with directions etc, play ground for children is fully functional and area is in beautiful location- lane is excellent or running and walk about half way down through woods by waterfalls is like going back to the shire- kept expecting to see hobbits round the corner.
The hot tub is very large and fun- they recommend 1 & 1/2 bags of wood to get it up to temp, but it was starting from cold so we needed both bags provided and we boosted it every day with another bags worth of wood sourced from the roadside (there's plenty of dry dead wood to utilise from the hedge rows- you may need to ask reception for fire lighters as there were none provided for us although we managed with a cornflakes packet)
Sehr gute Ausgangslage für tolle Unternehmungen.
Location was great
Little bit noisy as in it’s an old place so u can here other people but otherwise all good
Schitterende accommodatie en mooie ligging. Uitermate vriendelijk personeel
Beautiful surroundings
Arran cottage needs a bit of TLC
The location is absolutely superb, with wonderful views and an easy walk into town. The petrol station at the end of the lane now has a very good shop with nice hot food and everything you need, which is very convenient. I have stayed here 6 years in a row with friends visiting the area and I have always found it to be superb. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy and the staff have always been friendly.
Everything! Was a lovely stay, room and property! Great location. Hot tub and sauna was very good too!
Nothing
Nothing was too much trouble for them
Another mirror needed in the room
Great old building
Single room quite small
Perfect location easy check in/out
Beautiful surroundings
Very friendly when I turned up at 9 o’clock at night .
Fantastic Location
The room and bathroom were absolutely spotless! Very comfortable beds and pillows too. Lots of outdoor space that you can use, chairs, tables etc… plenty of parking and large spaces.
I prefer an in person check in and check out, this property is a self check in and out, meaning the only time you see the staff are in passing, having said that the staff we did see were delightful and very friendly and helpful.
Everything was just perfect starting with the lovely receptionist end ending with the amazing, warm, very well equipped and clean cottage. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!
N/A
Amazing landscape, friendly staff, nice and clean rooms plus sauna opportunity
Na
Lovely big room with huge comfy bed.
everything
Nothing
Accommodation and site was perfect. Very clean. Great views and easy to find.
we have chosen this B&B because of locations we wanted to visit. OK for short stay. It is a lot of action on site - camper vans, tents, farmers get on their trucks early. We lived in one bedroom apartment & had everything what we would need for our 4 days stay.
The location was really good for what we were there to do which was to drive the local byeways. The rooms were very comfortable and even had a fridge. We also enjoyed being able to use the lounge in the evenings
Our room, 7 had loose basin taps and the shower riser was very loose so water flooded the bathroom floor while showering.
Amazing stay lovely little cottage, clean and the jacuzzi sauna across the way was fabulous for the hour welsh hills in the background. Lovely area nice walk up the way torrent trail, staff very helpful would stay again was just what i needed.
Nothing
Absolutely love this place! We stayed in room 5 it’s spacious, clean, comfy , quiet and there’s horse just outside your door. We had previously stayed on the torrent walk campsite back in 2012 and it’s just as amazing! We will back ( with a quieter car sorry about that)
Only thing I would say is needed is a flat tray for the oven and maybe another shelf put in there especially if people are stay for more than one night.
It was a beautiful cottage modern clean part of an historic building. The weather was lovely while we were there, and it was great seeing the beautiful horses in the fields at the back of the property. There’s a lovely enclosed garden to enjoy, perfect for us and our little dog, with a stunning view of Cadair Idris. Big big thank you to Sandra. ❤️
Very hard to think of anything. Not keen on artificial flowers ? Otherwise perfect.
Lovely views
Nothing
Been back several times, love the location and close to some lovely walks. Quiet area, good for looking at the stars at night due to no light pollution. Staff who cannot do enough for you
Nothing
Cleaned, cosy had the necessities. Beds really comfy.
it was a lovely room, very comfy and all the facilities we needed. We slept very nice and cozily whilst a storm raged around us. Easy to find.
The booking eluded to a Jacuzzi and Sauna but upon arrival this was costed at £20 per hour per adult. It may have bene me but it seemed that this should have been part of the room hire (or at least be allowable in time under 1 hour).
Firstly, the room was more like a cave , very little natural light as there are only 2 small windows at the front at the side of the door, and you can choose to either have everyone looking at you as it's right in the main court yard or keep them shut. The bathroom door wouldn't lock and the handle was broken ,there were dirty hand prints all over the bathroom ceiling. The front room has a very small settee that just fits two ,yet it was a 3 bed . The cooker is that old you cant see the settings on the hob and after trying for 30 mins realised it wasn't working. I reported this and was given a camping stove which was not much better. The bed was by far the worst sleep I have ever had there was actually a dip in the centre Yes it was clean and tidy and the staff were lovely but the room was terrible.
Lock on the bathroom door Hand prints on ceiling Dip in the bed Cooker not working Small settee I have pictures of all the above .
It was absolute heaven 😍 will definitely be coming back. Beautiful surrounds ,place was so clean and plenty of character. Little waterfall outside n amazing and torrent walk few mins away . I could of stayed there . Cant wait to stay in summer .
Wouldn't say i didn't like . Just need a few more items in cupboards maybe a baking tray and a jug to put in microwave. The cooker was extremely slow . So definitely worth booking breakfast.
The room was spacious and had all what was advertised, kitchen area, seating/lounge area, dining table and chairs, 2 beds and an enclosed bathroom. The kitchen area was modern, clean, well laid out and well stocked with pots, pans, cutlery etc. Even a dishwasher.
I don't think there is anything that I didn't like.
Stunning property with stunning views. Historic building with a lot of character that made for a memorable stay. Would definitely return again.
The building was amazing an old traditional welsh building

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
9.2/10Rooms and bathrooms repeatedly described as very clean and well maintained; a few minor comments about squeaky or uneven beds but overall cleanliness praised.
Service
9/10Staff and hosts frequently described as friendly, welcoming and helpful (assisting with taxis, requests); one communication hiccup about breakfast was reported but resolved quickly.
Location
9.5/10Strongly positive: described as a beautiful, historic and convenient base for Snowdonia, Mach Loop and nearby towns/beaches; proximity to a campsite noted but generally not a major issue.
Room Quality
8/10Many comments on cosy, comfortable beds and good bathrooms; some negatives include upstairs rooms getting very hot, dark bathroom lighting, spiral staircases unsuitable for some guests, and occasional squeaky/leaning beds.
Amenities
8/10Good on-site features mentioned (jacuzzi, garden seating, small fridges); limited parking and shared campsite noted; breakfast often off-site or provided as a voucher rather than on-site.
Value for Money
8/10Mixed: several guests called it excellent value, while at least one found a single-night rate pricey; overall perceived as fair for the character and location.
Food and Beverage
7.5/10Frequently noted that breakfast was not served on-site (voucher or local venue used); the voucher option was praised by some, but inconsistent expectations led to some disappointment.
Overall Experience
8.8/10Generally very positive — characterful, historic cottages with friendly staff and comfortable rooms; minor issues (breakfast arrangements, parking, heat in some rooms) tempered otherwise strong recommendations.
