Very nice, peaceful residential area. Villas are beautiful, modern, clean and very well-equipped. Big pool in 3-bed villas. Most staff are very helpful and friendly.

The loungers could maybe have padding added as are quite uncomfortable and this would be more usual in a 5* resort. The food is a little overpriced and very limited vegetarian options.

The villas, food and quality of accommodation was excellent along with all the staff members we encountered across our stay as they were always friendly and helpful when needed. Reasonable priced bar area.

The only slight disappointment was the breakfast area, it was really too small and therefore the staff were rushed off their feet and couldn't keep up. Also, the choice of food available was quite small and in my opinion would not be suitable for a 5 star hotel rating. My wife ordered different eggs on a few morning and was forgotten a few times and had to re-order.

The house itself was huge and very comfortable. Also daily cleans which was a bonus. The pool area was nice and the staff were friendly. The gym was also small but well equipped.

The pool bar drinks and snacks were rather expensive, but the convenience was good. We also prefer a location with more options for restaurants to walk to, but this was limited here.

The villas and resort was amazing. We all loved the spacious villa with so much room for a family of four. The resort was great too, it did get a lot busier a few few days from when we were leaving so I imagine mid August is far busier than the start.

More sunbeds are definitely needed and breakfast is a bit hectic.

De aandacht voor aankomst, gedurende en erna. Het ontbijt!!! Zeer goede kwaliteit en de lekkerste ananas ever!! Zeer ruime villa met goed uitgeruste keuken en allerlei huishoudelijke apparaten zoals een strijkijzer en broodrooster. Het zwembad leek klein bij aankomst, maar het was niet druk in het bad gedurende de dag. Locatie dichtbij bruisende Carvoeiro. De faciliteiten zoals de gym, voetbalveld en padelbaan.

Jammer dat er geen schaduwdoek over het voetbalveld hing. Er was een toernooi door de kidsclub georganiseerd maar met 30 graden was het niet te doen. Sowieso zagen we gedurende de dag geen kinderen gebruik maken van het veldje. Gemiste kans. De padelbaan is niet met glas zoals wij gewend zijn maar het ging wel. Ze mogen wel nieuwe rackets en ballen kopen, dan zou die experience net wat beter zijn.

Zeer net resort . Kamers en woonkamer heerlijk ruim. Personeel was allemaal zeer behulpzaam en aardig.

Zwembad kan wel een update gebruiken. Het is functioneel maar wel wat oud allemaal.

We go away once a year for 10 days as a family, and we save all year to afford it, so I wanted to write an honest review that addresses some of the shortfalls this resort’s mostly-positive reviews don’t mention. The good The accommodation itself is excellent. Housekeeping does a brilliant job, the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, there are two lovely outdoor seating areas, comfortable beds, TVs in every room, and good Wi-Fi. Uber in the area is cheap and reliable, making it easy and affordable to explore. The not-so-good Beyond the accommodation, the resort feels more like a three-star property. The grounds are pleasant but scruffy in places, and the pool area is dated. The pool flooring and steps are genuinely dangerous — I came away with cut feet. The resort is also too small for the number of guests, so the pool area fills up almost immediately unless you reserve a sun lounger at dawn, which shouldn’t be necessary at a resort of this standard. Check-in was a low point. After 12 hours of travel from the UK, we were told our room wasn’t ready and were pointed toward the pool area — but with all our luggage, there was nowhere for us to sit. The restaurant was closed for cleaning and we weren’t allowed in there either. For a self-described five-star resort, this needs far better thought given that guests arrive at all hours of the day. Breakfast was another disappointment — style over substance. We were given small side plates instead of proper dinner plates, so food kept falling off as we tried to eat. When I raised this with the guest relations manager, I was simply told it was “the hotel’s decision” and part of their style. The buffet setup didn’t help either: nowhere to rest your plate while serving hot food, and flimsy wooden tongs that made it hard to pick anything up. The coffee was undrinkable. Staff were clearly overrun, and at check-in we were required to lock in a fixed daily breakfast timeslot for the entire holiday — not exactly relaxing when you’d occasionally like a lie-in. That said, the food and beverage team were clearly working hard under pressure, and we felt for them. We ate dinner at the resort once — an Italian buffet with odd choices and food that wasn’t very good. More concerningly, the hot food was being held below 63°C, a temperature at which bacteria can grow. I photographed it and raised it with guest relations, who said they’d pass it on to the kitchen, but nothing changed. The biggest issue was the kids’ club. We’d booked through Jet2 based on their advertising that children aged 4–12 could use the club unsupervised. On arrival we were told any child under 6 needed a parent present — which defeated the point of the club, since as parents we look forward to that hour or two of peace each day. It took four and a half days of arguing, texts, and phone calls before we finally got a meeting with the general manager, who admitted the resort had submitted incorrect information to Jet2 and agreed to honour unsupervised access for the rest of our stay. Those first four and a half days spent fighting to get this resolved genuinely ruined a chunk of our holiday. Overall Without the kids’ club issue, I’d have rated this a 3 — average, which is where I think this resort sits overall. I’m writing such a candid review because we all rely on TripAdvisor for reassurance before booking. If you’re heading to the Algarve and want a well-located base with plenty to do nearby, this could work — but I wouldn’t rely on the hotel’s facilities. Next time, we’d go self-catering only. We are currently seeking compensation from Jet2

Fijne mooie ruime woningen. Iedere dag schone handdoeken, bedden opgemaakt en de prullenbakken geleegd. Heerlijk ontbijt! Lekker zwembad en een gezellige kidsclub.

De tegels bij het zwembad worden met zonnig weer extreem heet. Voor kleine kinderen handig om zwemschoentjes aan te trekken.

Verzorgd domein met huisjes (hotel). Ons huisje was meer dan ruim genoeg, inclusief 2 ruime slaapkamers en alle benodigdheden. Zeer lekker ontbijt. Aangenaam buiten-, binnen en peuterzwembad. Auto kan geparkeerd worden voor het huisje.

Wij zaten dichtbij het zwembad en receptie, wat leuk was met kleine kinderen. Sommige huisjes liggen logischerwijs wat verder waardoor het even wandelen is.

The living accommodation was very nice. Not too far from the festival. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was good as well.

At certain times the menu options were limited when ordering from the room for pickup.

A quiet and peaceful resort that felt safe and proper. The villa was large and spacious, and the garden and pool area felt very private. Nice bathrooms and air conditioning in every room, which was easy to operate. The housekeeping was impeccable. Almost all the staff members we met were pleasant and helpful. There seemed to be plenty of space around the communal pools, and the atmosphere was great.The beds are firm, which is common in this part of Europe. The only thing we wished was different with the layout of the house was the master bedroom, which was on an open loft and lacked privacy. The spa was nothing to write home about. We received an okay treatment, but it did not feel professional and didn’t tempt us to go back. We bought groceries at a larger supermarket for self-catering, but we also ordered food delivered directly to our door via Uber, which was very easy and convenient. Our airport transfer picked us up right by the villa. Since we had an early morning departure, the reception arranged for the driver to bring us lunch boxes with food and drinks. A very nice touch!

We had a fantastic week at Vale da Lapa. We were a little unsure about staying because we couldn’t find much information about the resort online. It was so good, we didn’t need to worry. The villa was enormous. We had a 2 bed villa and the living space was huge. Really comfortable beds, a full kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Fabulous bathrooms and it was all spotless. The housekeepers came daily to change towels and clean. The pool was much bigger than in the pictures, the indoor pool is semi indoor as the roof slides open. We didn’t have a problem finding a sunbed. Even at busy times of day there were always sunbeds available. Only a few people put towels to reserve but it wasn’t necessary at all. The pool bar has a good selection of drinks and food which is brought to your sunbed. It’s the same menu as the restaurant bar. The villas are set in beautiful gardens and actually feel private. We slept really well it was so quiet and the metal shutters on all the windows totally block all light. The restaurant food is an amazing, so fresh and tasty. There is a set à la carte menu for each weekday. At the weekends it’s a buffet, but very high quality. Breakfast is a buffet and plenty of hot and cold food, drinks. It is held in the reception area which is a little odd, but you get used to it. You eat in the restaurant which is just through the door. Reception staff were so helpful, always on the end of a phone. They use WhatsApp to communicate and it works so well. We always had a quick response. A very restful week, amazing staff. Special thanks to Peres and Rui in the restaurant and Victoria in the spa.

Der var myrer i husene. Der var regler i spaen om at børn under 15 år ikke måtte bruge jacuzzi og det skete konstant. Der var ikke disciplin men børnefamilier der larmede og gjorde poolområdet lidt mareridtsagtig. Der burde være personale der greb ind over råb, spil og vandbomber. Der manglede en shop eller minibar til alm fornødenheder, det forventes på et 5 stjernet hotel. Ligesom der mangler aktiviteter der var fint yoga rum men ingen undervisning. Der manglede også pool aerobic eller lignende og måske aktiviteter om aftnen, hvor man fx kunne købe en drink. Terrænet er meget kuperet og man bør leje en bil for at komme rundt. Byen var hyggelig men ligesom stranden meget lille.

Such a wonderful place. Lovely villas , all fully equipped and super clean. Lovely place to stay and very chilled but with plenty to do. The kids club was a bonus and having padel courts too!

Lovely resort, the town houses are too class. Only criticism is the showers were awful. Not very powerful at all. Hire a car as this resort is rather remote.

We are at the very end of a fabulous two weeks at Vale da Lapa. The resort is beautiful and our villa exceeded our expectations. So clean and has everything we need and more. Pool is quiet (minus our 3 noisy kids) and the staff are lovely and so helpful. Food has been delicious and excellent quality. Big shout out to Peres and Rui in the restaurant for their care and attentiveness - we truly feel spoiled here. We enjoyed walking down to Carvoeiro to the beach, boat/pedalo trips and the best ice cream shop! Kids loved Slide and Splash and been easy to get Ubers, even with 5 of us.

Had 10 night stay here, loved it. Peaceful grounds, large villas and friendly staff. Me and my boyfriend really enjoyed our time staying here, short taxi into town centre. Will be back :) !

We are a family travelling with three teenagers and a younger boy. Six of us in total. I cannot say enough good things about Vale Da Lapa. We booked a three bed villa with a private pool. Absolutely amazing. So much space for everyone which is what you need for teenagers. The decor and accommodation is first class- spotlessly clean and very modern. The Villa is so well laid out. And nothing is a problem for the staff. We arrived extremely early the day of check in and we were able to use all of the facilities for the whole day before check in. The main resort pool is gorgeous and you’ll easily spend the day there. The Villa’s private pool and garden is even better than we had imagined. For anyone travelling with older kids- if a Villa with pool is available it’s definitely worth booking!

We visited for 4 nights at the beginning of June. I travelled with my daughters who are 15 and 12. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom villas. We loved everything about this place. The villa was beautiful. With a patio on the ground floor and a balcony off the main bedroom upstairs. Very comfortable indeed. There are even electric outside blackout blinds to block the light from waking you in the morning. We added breakfast on arrival and this did not disappoint. A great selection of very good quality food including homemade butters and yogurts. Something for everyone was on offer. The staff were incredibly helpful at all times. Always someone to answer your questions via WhatsApp. We got around by Uber. Cheap and took minutes for one to arrive. There is a small supermarket up the road for basics too. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be going back at some point.

This holiday was the third of my visits to a Details Hotel in Carvoeiro and lived up to the high expectations of the other two visits. Staff were very personable and attentive, the townhouses are well laid out and furnished. Breakfast had lots of choice everyday and was never too busy- and no sunbed wars in sight at the swimming pool either.

Tolle Anlage, sehr sauber, nettes Personal und gute Lage. Ruhig und trotzdem zentral. Gute Restaurants im Umkreis. Die Häuser sind ebenfalls nicht hellhörig, sondern man fühlt sich sehr privat. Wir würden die Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen.

Vale da Lapa is a great location for Carvoeiro, Portimao, Fereguda, and Benagil and for some beautiful Algarve beaches. It's easy and cheap to get around by Uber. The 2-bed villa is spacious, modern, clean and well equipped. A washing machine is so handy! The beds are very firm, but with plenty of pillows and clean, soft bedding. The pool had plenty of loungers (in May half term). We went self catering so can't comment on the food, but what we saw looked great. The toastie by the pool was worth the money and tasty. We didn't need to communicate with the staff very much, but when we did they were helpful and responsive. We were able to contact them on WhatsApp which was really helpful. Good free WiFi through out. We will definitely come back.

My only criticism was that the kitchen lacked a wooden spoon and a cheese grater! But I'm sure if I asked they would have provided me with them.

Als ik wat moet noemen: Het koude zwembad buiten maar daar hadden ze een overdekt zwembad voor waar we wel in konden in deze tijd van het jaar :) Voor in de zomermaanden lijkt me het koude zwembad dan juist heerlijk :)

Top quality property. Great location with epic pool

Tucked away in Carvoeiro is this home away from home! The villas are extremely spacious with everything you need- laundry, fully equipped kitchen, living area and outdoor space. We stayed in a one bedroom villa which was perfect for 2 ppl. We really enjoyed feeling like it was a home instead of another hotel room. The balcony and outdoor area were so nice to sit and enjoy. Since the algarves are so sunny, the electrical blinds were AMAZING at keeping the room dark - so helpful for the jetlag. There are several ponds as well which have lots of local frogs that can be a bit loud at night - bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The staff are friendly and helpful, easy communication via what's app. Breakfast was included and had a good variety of foods throughout the week. It was a good start before we headed out for the day. Some days we came near the end of breakfast and found that they were already clearing some dishes though. There is a outdoor pool and heated indoor pool. Plenty of lounge chairs at both. There is a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all included in the resort which is incredible! If you wanted some exercise aside from the pool, there is a gym, pickle ball courts, bikes, etc. Overall we are so happy we stayed here as our base in the Algarves! Uber and bolt are easy transit choices but there is plenty of parking as well. We were less than 10'mins to the town and felt the location was better than being directly in the bustling busy town.

Good accomodation, very spacious, didn't feel overly crowded - but it was May.

Was mid 20s but no was using the outdoor pool as it wasn't heated. Odd interaction with a waitress on the night we arrived, repeatedly told my partner who was holding a 6 month old baby and watching our 3yr old that we should have made a booking if we wanted to eat, despite just arriving (I was wrestling bags). Would have been rude in most settings, it being our first interaction with the resort was a pity.

A localização, fica longe de tudo O funcionamento da piscina coberta e a marcação para utilizar a sauna e o banho turco, ninguém apareceu a hora marcada e estavam lá mais pessoas.

Sehr schöne, grosszügige und gut ausgestattete Häuser. Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Sehr sauber.

Das Frühstücksbüffet war nicht 5-Sterne gerecht: nicht sehr abwechslungsreich und auf angloamerikanische bzw. britische Gäste einseitig zugeschnitten mit v.a. kein Müsli bzw nur Cornflakes und viele Süssigkeiten. Einziger Lichtblick: frisch gemachte Omlette und Spiegeleier auf Wunsch und frisches Brot.

We waren voor de tweede keer op het resort. Net als de vorige keer is het uitstekend bevallen. Wij zaten in huisje 202 en dit had een perfecte ligging. Dichtbij het zwembad en het restaurant. We hebben weer genoten van de service, gastvrijheid en de luxe. Het ontbijt is erg goed en je kunt bij de bediening een eitje naar keuze bestellen. Nieuwe service voor ons maar erg aangenaam.

Heerlijk resort. De huisjes zijn zeer comfortabel met lekkere bedden en worden iedere dag schoongemaakt. Ook de zwembaden en het restaurant zijn erg fijn. Echt de ideale accommodatie om een volledig ontspannen verblijf in de Algarve te hebben.

Er zouden iets meer glazen in de keuken mogen zijn. Met 4 personen en slechts 4 glazen moesten wij deze dus de hele dag opnieuw afwassen. En voor mij niet negatief, maar goed om te weten: in het midden van het resort zit een stroompje met vijver waar veel kikkers zitten, deze maken vooral ‘s nachts veel geluid. Als je slaapkamer hier aan grenst en je slaapt graag met het raam open: oordoppen mee!

Todo . En nuestro caso fue en Semana Santa . Fundamentalmente las villas son amplias y bien diseñadas , tienen actividades para niños y deportes , las piscinas son bonitas y agradables ( si quieres algo más grande te vas a un acuapark , porque ese no es el concepto que buscan, perdería en tranquilidad ) , está a 5 min de carvoeiro en coche ( si estuvieses allí perderías espacio. Que es una de las claves ) y el servicio es muy bueno (especialmente la jefa de sala , muy buena actitud y dinamismo ) , el desayuno completo . En síntesis resuelven bien todas las facetas . Siempre se le puede sacar punta a las cosas pero siendo objetivos la relación calidad precio ha sido óptima .Excelentes vacaciones en familia .
