Clean room, nice town, easy parking.
Stayed for a night as we transitioned from Cornwall to Oxford. The shower had great water pressure and the room was clean and comfortable.
Staff very helpful room clean and warm cant fault it. Food good a great alround hotel with free parking and car charge facilities.
Hotel Staff were great and breakfast good. Pool needs attention and repairs with broken and missing tiles would not a child in the pool which was one of the reasons we booked the hotel.
Everything at the hotel was excellent. The room was furnished well, the bathroom looked to be new. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The restuarant choices for breakfast was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay there again
Good location and parking, clean and comfortable.
Staff we met (receptionist) was friendly and very helpful. Room was nice in a great location. We had breakfast next door at the Q Street cafe, which we already knew about.
The staff were very friendly. The outdoor heated pool is small but does the job and is clean. The continental breakfast selection was very limited. Basically they had the popular cereal varieties like Kellogg's Corn Flakes etc, croissants, pain au chocolate, an assortment of jams, yoghurt, and some fruits. No oats. No soy milk. No peanut butter. No cheeses or cooked meats. No nuts of any variety. No pork is served on the premises due to the owner's cultural/religious beliefs. So dont expect a traditional English breakfast with a couple of pork sausages! The hotel looks tired. The surrounding area was nice and not far from the Eden Project. The hotel restaurant was shut during our stay. There are a few pubs within 5 minutes walk that serves ok food.
Staff where great, friendly and very helpful.
We spent a few days in Cornwall (not long enough) and this was a great base for exploring. Pool was great and staff were friendly and helpful.
Reasonable Hotel but currently not serving food in evening and shower was in disrepair.
Good size room, sadly bed was quite creaky, good in-room facilities, great for a one night stop-over.
The pool was lovely some tiles need work. Room looked new lovely and clean. Breakfast was lovely plenty of choices. Staff were all really nice, friendly and approachable. Lovely night would definitely stay again.
Great clean hotel. No pork at breakfast which is a shame. Pool needs some TLC as some tiles missing and no handle for going down the steps. Lostwithiel is very sleepy and the businesses there aren’t always open when their opening hours say they are.
All of the staff were very friendly, yet professional. When I rang to say that it was my friend’s birthday, Maisie was able to recommend some lovely lunch venues. And, when we arrived she, and the other staff wished us a happy stay, and they had decorated the room for my friend. They made our stay special!
Looks like the picture, average finish. Perfectly ok and 24/7 outdoor heated pool with a nice sun trap for the loungers. Staff exceptionally helpful. Our room had an issue with electrics but was sorted within an hour. The shower frame was un-finished but did work properly, no leakages and was a nice shower. Hotel is clean, just needs a little finesse. Town has places for dinner in walking distance as the hotel restaurant is not currently open.
Not a full English breakfast!Choice of chicken or beef sausage!!Dog hair on the bed throw
A bit tired on the outside. Rooms were clean and spacious
Very clean. Good value. Room number 1, a single room, was small and had opaque glass in the window, so you couldn't see out.
Really helpful, happy staff . Very co.fortable. Very clean.
No bar or dinner available.
Staff friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. Accurate location. Located right on the main road. Our room overlooked this and was a bit noisy. Some areas of the hotel liked a little run down. We stayed on a room only basis so cannot comment on breakfast.
The room was very nice. The hotel has a pool.
Good value for money! Beautiful location close to some lovely beaches and walks. Friendly and helpful staff!
Hotel was good in that it had a pool but this was tired, along with the rest of the hotel. Our room looked out on the main road, net curtains did not drop far enough to stop you being seen on the toilet, from the street. Poor fittings throughout, paper towel dispenser coming off the wall, holes in carpet, headboard unpleasant. Dirty bottom sheet and dusty bed cover. A lot to improve upon. Would not stay here again as much higher standards from other hotel chains.
My friends and I have really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Fowey. The staff have been very helpful and the facilities are excellent.
Very handily placed hotel on the edge of Lostwithiel, a very pretty little town. My room was good, the bed comfortable and the bedding nice. I actually didn't get too hot when asleep like I usually do in hotels. The bathroom was fine too. The staff were especially nice (just right). Easy to park too (no extra cost)
Dog friendly rooms with direct access to outdoor space. Reception exceptionally friendly. Good tea / coffee making facilities in room & a fridge. Location is superb with nice pubs & restaurants nearby . The bar doesn't sell alcohol but if you bring you own they will provide glasses. We were very pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel is & how nice the town of Lostwithiel is.
I had a great stay there and the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. I wasn’t expecting the hotel to be much as the rate was really cheap in comparison to other hotel prices, but when I arrived I was really impressed. The hotel was in a quiet and nice location, the rooms were clean and comfortable and it had a homely vibe to it. I would definitely stay there again if I was to ever go back to that part of Cornwall.
Really lovely suite that we enjoyed as a family the only thing that would have helped us if there was a lift to get up on the next floor as tricky with having a pushchair and suitcases
Dog friendly
We were impressed with the warmth of the hospitality we received at this quaint hotel. The gentleman opened the pool just for us for a quick dip even though it was closing very soon. The pool was so warm , especially in the pouring rain - lovely fun. The staff were very smiley, genuine, friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend
Liked the location and the staff. The bed was very uncomfortable
Clean and tidy however didn’t sell alcohol at the bar or inc pork in the breakfast. However great breakfast at the local pub that’s cheaper.
Breakfast not worth the money no bacon
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Has a heated pool which you can request to use. It was warm enough to use on a cold day. Handy location with free car parking.
We booked in for 2 nights, however left after night 1… The room was clean and basic. However I’d didn’t feel homely or inviting. Not a fault of any particular person just not for us
Very good all round. Excellent, helpful staff. Nice room, very good shower.
The hotel was clean & tidy, the staff were friendly & welcoming & the accommodation was extremely comfortable. The only downfall was the couple in the room next door waking us up 12.30 on our last night with loud laughter & talking all the way from the car park, up the stairs & then in their room. Not the hotels fault, but wish some people had more respect for others.
Good clean hotel with all facilities and on site car parking. Restaurant was closed and limited venues in the village. Good shower and bathroom, recommend this for a base to explore from.
Bed springs kept one of us awake. Unfortunately there was no bacon for the full English breakfast and no alcoholic bar.
The location was quiet, clean and pretty and the hotel blends with the surrounding neighborhood. The nicest Best Western we’ve stayed in. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. Parking was plentiful too. We had a great sleep.
Terriific receptionist (Jane)
I always try and book this hotel when I'm working in the area. The staff are lovely, always friendly and very helpful. The only thing I wasn't happy with during this stay was that they have taken the gammon dish off of the menu. Such a shame as this was my favourite.
Restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol and breakfast doesn’t contain pork.
This Best Western was a cheery little hotel but it’s just been bought by some Egyptian Owners who forbid the sale of alcohol or pork products. This will make a huge difference for visitors wanting a full English Breakfast or a glass of wine with their dinner. A bit sad really.
Like the area, close to railway station, locals are friendly.
Friendly staff and very comfy bed !!! Receptionist very efficient and engaging.
Fantastic hotel that is very dog friendly. It had a box with all dog stuff in it in the room which was a lovely touch and even a mat to put the drink bowls on too.
A very nice hotel indeed. Welcoming staff and very comfortable room. Would certainly go back.
Great place to stay. Lovely staff. Would have liked a drink at the bar but not a major problem as could bring our own into dining room. Swimming pool a bonus.
Loved the stay so clean and tidy and staff so warm and friendly
Room clean and tidy. Good location. Pleasant receptionist and nice welcome.
Stay was nice but because of my experiences with Hotel.com and the financial losses, i couldnt enjoy my holiday at all. Best Western Fowey Valley is a wonderful hotel to stay and i will go again but probably not with Hotel.com.
Check in was a breeze with very helpful and friendly member of staff. Room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Breakfast staff cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
We had a call the evening before to check we knew how to get to Lostwithiel. We were welcomed by Jane who was very helpful and friendly. We brought our young dog and everything was very easy for her too.
Excelent spot for a quick stopover. Lovely village to wander
I have stayed in six hotels this week between lands end and Exeter and this little place was by far the best. It lies in a lovely small town and is mostly quiet with only the ringing of the church bells every now and then. I came on a day when their chef was on annual leave (which I knew thanks to an email from them in advance) and the lovely Jane gave me a list of local places to eat that had been suggested by all of the staff together. I was directed to my fab (upgraded!) room which was very clean, modern and had a lovely view of the village. It was also well-stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits which is a treat after being busy all day! The car park was easy to find and secure so I didn’t feel uneasy leaving my car there. The only thing I would say is their leaflets say that their rooms are soundproof and they definitely aren’t as I could hear other guests who at times were loud but thankfully everyone was quiet by 10pm. The door also shakes when anyone else enters or leaves their rooms. Overall, an excellent stay and I would recommend to anyone to stay there for a short stay. Thank you BW!
Lovely stay in Lostwithiel. Brilliant apartment, very clean and outstanding room service. Good choice and breakfast. Outdoor pool nearby to apartment. Friendly helpful staff.
We found this little gem by accident: the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us - super kind to our dog and kids! Hotel is really pet friendly and makes furry visitors very welcome. Rooms well-equipped and spotless. Yummy breakfast cooked to order. Thank you so much: we will be back!
Great hotel. Fantastic service, very large well equipped rooms. Everything was first class, would definitely return.
Great place. Really friendly staff. Excellent location. Receptionist made me feel like I was at home. Lovely experience
I was very impressed with this hotel. One thing that really stood out was the hotel asking in advance for dietary requirements and then being aware of them at breakfast and automatically offering me something suitable without me having to ask. I have never had this at a hotel before and it was lovely. The staff were all lovely and it felt very welcoming. The bathroom was very modern and a good size. The bedroom was a reasonable size, but the bed was a little tired on the headboard.
Pleasantly surprised by the customer service the staff offered.
Great staff in a lovely little town/village, our room was on the main road as such it was a bit noisy, due to high ambient temperatures this meant we were hot a night as we couldn’t open the window. We are in their restaurant and the food was great.
Great location, especially for Eden Project. Rooms were very well kept and everything was really clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Clean and nice size room. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Only down side is the noise in the corridor and tight access road to parking
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The pool was very nice. Comfortable room with nice ensuite. Great breakfast and good choice of menu in the evening.
Very noisy, had to ask people to quieten down at 11.30pm as no staff were bothering not comfortable
The hotel is in a nice location with parking, has a nice garden with seating and a heated pool. The staff at reception were friendly at check in and check out. The room was a good size with a double and single bed and bathroom was good. Room also had a good sized tv with tea and coffee. Only fault is that the walls seemed quite thin so could hear quite clearly talking in the corridor and shutting doors, and there was a stain on the floor. But apart from that the hotel was great value for money!
great staff and we had the family suite - great "double" bunk beds for the kids which they enjoyed
Stayed 3 nights here. Brilliant hotel. Jane, the deputy manager, was a fountain of knowledge. Everything she suggested was excellent. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. The bathroom was great, excellent water pressure and hot water. There are a few pubs and restaurants within the village. This is a perfect base to explore Cornwall. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely room and very kind staff
It was quiet. Breakfast was very good. Their were several restaurants nearby. Plenty of parking. Shower was very good and powerful. I liked that they only cleaned your room if you asked so everything was as you left it. The bedside table needs to be bigger when you have two beds sharing one. There is a very good mirror in the bathroom but no shelf for your makeup. The mirror over the desk and the lamp was not a good alternative.
Pool was fabulous and warm! Could do with a shelter to keep towels dry in wet weather please. Room was good size and clean. Breakfast is too expensive at £17.50.
Nice hotel in Lostwithiel very convenient for trips out. Room was adequate had most things you would need. The breakfast was very nice with a reasonable choice. There is a swimming pool but didn’t use due to the time of year but a great added bonus. There is plenty of free parking at the hotel.
Great hotel, I always stay here when i'm working in Cornwall. It's central so perfect for me.
Great stay and very clean and comfy
Lovely friendly welcome, the receptionist even found the nearest EV fast charging point for me (sorry I didn’t get her name) Room was small but had everything you needed and was exceptionally clean with plenty of tea/coffee/milk. Food was very good, the steak was cooked perfectly, a little disappointing that the chips were frozen and not freshly made, but it is out of season so can be forgiven as they were very tasty 😊 Breakfast was good, not much choice on the continental but the cooked offerings were good, I had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and it was delicious 😋
Very comfortable pleasant stay. Everything was excellent.
We were greeted by a very lovely lady Jane, who was extremely friendly and very helpful. I had reserved the electric vehicle charger, and it worked well. Jane also helped us with directions to our next destination. The continental breakfast was good and the staff were all very friendly and professional.
Clean airy room but all a bit convoluted using the restaurant with a pay-as-you-go drink facility and no option of putting the meal on the main bill. All came across as untrusting and a bit rude…
The staff were very friendly and efficient. We only had the breakfast but it was reallygood with plenty of choice. We will be going back.
We stayed the night as we attended a function in the hotel and didn’t want to drive home afterwards, The food was excellent, at dinner and at breakfast the following morning. We had a lovely room, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Only complaint, the bar closed at 11.00 pm, even to residents, so the party fizzled out! In hindsight our organiser should have secured a later bar.
To be fair I have heard lots of bad press on the hotel group and my expectations were very low. I read lots of 10 scores and thought it may be made up; however, I was really amazed by this hotel. It deserves its 10s. Friendly staff, clean, great facilities, and I would stay again definitely.
Hotel very clean and tidy. Staff excellent
Breakfast options were excellent. We really enjoyed the evening meals that we had in the dining room. Every staff member we encountered was unfailingly, friendly, polite, and helpful.
Lovely stay, staff friendly and helpful, particularly Lisa who, alongside brilliant service in the restaurant, was giving good local knowledge advice on places to go and things to do. Everything was cleaneddown thoroughly in the restaurant between sittings. Room was good and clean. No room service unless specifically requested, but mugs/towels etc were readily replaced on request.
I recommend this to everyone in the area.
Good place to go
The place was nice, far too many stairs to get into the place and no way of parking and walking to car park of disabled. More suitable for able bodied people Restaurant only open for two hours a day was disappointing as when we arrived at 745 after a 7 hour drive it was all shut and the bar was closed at 945 so no way of getting drinks after then at all and no staff on site after 945pm. The staff were nice and the property was lovely too. Just wish more accessible. The room was lovely and bed was incredibly comfy ♥️ Would definitely recommend to others but will warn in advance that bar/restaurant times and also stairs in car parks. But other than that the place was adorable
Friendly staff, clean rooms but 2 different accounts for bar and hotel seems unnecessary.
Good location and clean
A nice, clean and functional hotel in a lovely village. The pool is a nice addition and was lovely and warm.
lovely stay although the bathroom light sensor often went off too soon, especially when we were showering, and there was little ventilation so towels and swimming costumes didn't dry very quickly, even with the option of the heated towel rail. other than that, we had a lovely stay. the staff were friendly, the pool was glorious in the sunshine and the location was perfect
Bedroom and bathroom good quality, comfortable and very clean. Staff generally nice but accounting problem – having to pay separately for meals and drinks, and breakfast having to be paid for upfront before being allowed to sit down! Guests should be insulated from the hotel's weird accounting practices! This spoiled an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Great place to stay but under staffed at Breakfast. People were getting served before me that had arrived after I did. Only fault during my stay though. Would stay again but skip Breakfast if busy!
Would recommend BW Hotel for its comfort and accessibility to train station. Staff are so friendly too.
Great hotel and ideally situated for work trips or a break in Cornwall.
Staff very welcoming and friensly. Hotel was clean, bed comfy, goid location
