Accoglienza e disponibilità, ci hanno consigliato escursione nel deserto, ci hanno dato possibilità di fare doccia e riposarci dopo il check in. Potessi dare 11 lo darei...consigliatissimo

De locatie aan het einde van het dorp. Niet midden in de drukte maar wel op loopafstand. De auto stond voor de deur. Een fijne kamer en nette badkamer.

Een haperende airco. Ook was er geen Youssouf te bekennen zoals in de reviews omschreven. Wel een manager waar het hard werken was om elkaar te verstaan. Ook de eerder omschreven woestijn verblijf was minder exclusief dan omschreven. We werden gewoon bij een andere grote groep geplaatst. En ook het noemen van verschillende prijzen achteraf leverde irritatie op…..

Bij Chez Youssef, word je ontvangen door Idir. Een rustige en heel vriendelijke man die ons verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk probeerde te maken. Hij regelde laat op de avond nog een feestmaal voor ons, klaargemaakt door de buren. En hij zorgde voor een overnachting in de duinen, iets verderop, inclusief de tocht en het eten, aan een scherpe prijs. Wij boekten een kamer in de riad, maar mochten in het naburige huis overnachten. Het huis had een gezellige woon/eetkamer met tv, een grote keuken, een badkamer en twee slaapkamers.

In het huis was er geen airco in de slaapkamers, maar wel in de woon/eetkamer.

L'accueil est extrêmement attentionné et sympathique. La chambre est simple mais joliment décorée et propre. La terrasse est magnifique et le patio très agréable pour le thé. Excellent petit déjeuner (nous n'avons pas dîné sur place). Idéalement situé pour se promener dans le désert, à 3mn à pied. Rue principale à 3mn. Youssef se charge d'organiser votre nuit dans le désert sur demande. Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Nous recommandons vivement.

Youssef war unglaublich freundlich und stand uns jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Er hat alle unsere Fragen geduldig beantwortet und war stets hilfsbereit. Besonders schön fanden wir, dass er sich extra Zeit genommen hat, um mit uns auf den Markt zu gehen und uns beim Kauf von Kopftüchern zu helfen – das war wirklich eine tolle und persönliche Erfahrung. Auch das Essen war sehr lecker und die Unterkunft insgesamt super sauber. Die Dachterrasse war ein weiteres Highlight – perfekt, um zu entspannen und den Aufenthalt zu genießen. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen!

This place was great. I would have easily stayed an extra night. I was there during Ramadan so the town was quiet and relaxed. The rooftop view of the dunes is breathtaking. The breakfast with the berbères omelette was delicious. Really a memorable stay. Highly recommend.

1) The host was very quiet, good person, nice to speak to. He organized a trip to the Erg on camels for us from his friends nearby. It was cheaper, than we were offered from the local businessmen.. 2) Place is quiet, easy to get asleep. Far from busy roads. Very close to the dunes, like 100m... The village life can be seen just over he corner. Very clean. 3) Host prepared us breakfast. The omelet was kind of unusual, prepared in oven with tomatoes and domething more. Well, something surprising and by far not expected at the breakfast (usually something very easy-made is seen, but here host spent some time and efforts to make us feel better). 4) House itself is cosy with a terrasse. Liked it a lot. Parking is easily available. Some local shops very close in the village. Liked a lot this place.

Das ruhige Riad lag am Ortsrand in unmittelbarer Nähe zur Wüste und zu einer Dromedarfarm. Vom Rooftop konnten wir Sonnenaufgänge beobachten. Dicke Decken, warmes Wasser und Fenster in das Freie - gutes WLAN. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants in der Nähe. Unser Manager war immer für uns da.

Idir ci ha accolto con premura e disponibilità. Struttura molto caratteristica e accogliente, con terrazza che affaccia con vista sulle dune. La camera dotata di tutto l’occorrente, soprattutto riscaldamento e coperte a sufficienza, dato il mese di dicembre. Colazione completa e soddisfacente.

Youssef is a wonderful host who is quiet, friendly, helpful and loves having guests stay. He serves a delightful breakfast that is a delicious variety of breads, yogurt, eggs, and of course toppings to either dip or spread on your morning bread selection. The location of the property is wonderful! In a quiet area just off the main path. Nearby Restaraunts have wonderful food options and the locals are quite friendly. The property is simple, clean and comfortable and offers a stay in a neighborhood setting.

Such a great caretaker. He really went out of his way to help us, showing us where to find a late dinner, where to buy supplies, and helping us to understand travel options. We are grateful for his generous advice.

Idir ist ein super freundlicher Manager und Gastgeber. Er hilft bei allem. Uns hat er eine sehr authentisch Tour mit einem 4x4 organisiert. Außerdem kann man von der Unterkunft gleich direkt zu den Dünen gehen. Wir haben uns deswegen gegen eine Nacht in einem Camp entschieden sonder für 2 Tage in dieser traumhaft Unterkunft. Beim Frühstück gibt es Abwechslung und es fehlt einem an nichts

L’environnement à Merzouga manque de charme. Nous y étions pour la randonnée dans le désert que nous recommandons fortement. Cette randonnée était organisée par le gîte. Le bivouac était exceptionnel.

L'hôte est très accueillant et très chaleureux. Nous avons beaucoup échangé avec lui et même partagé des activités. Il nous a permis de faire des excursions et de rencontrer des amis à lui. Nous garderons un souvenir inoubliable de ce séjour.

The structure was very clean, well equipped and well looked after. The host is magnificent and kind hearted. He picked us up from the bus station (late at night) even if we didn't ask for it. The morning we were leaving very early he prepared the breakfast before 7 and came with us to the taxi stop helping us with our luggage (without any request). The dishes cooked by him and his wife were really good home cooked. Thank you for the hospitality Mr Youssef and family!

Idir, the caretaker was a very calm, genuine and beautiful person. His warmth and charisma was humanly exceptional. He attended all our needs with that kind of acceptance that is rare to find. He even walked with us to a local restaurant...Thanks Idir!! The place is quiet and authentic, not a luxury hotel but a clean, comfortable and sound place to stay in a local part of the town far from tourists. The double bed is large and very comfortable. The breakfast and supper prepared by Idir and his wife were extraordinary, well above what could be expected for the price. I will go back sooner or later!!

Iddir was very welcoming and helpful. He kindly organised a night in the desert for us - a true highlight! Also, the room in his gîte was very comfortable.

Idir, our host was humble, polite but always there for us with delicious tea and fresh and often frozen water which we really appreciated. The room was very hot (in August when 45 degrees out, so very much expected!) but the night he organised for us in the desert was magnificent. Thank you Idir

Excellent location a couple of minutes walk away from the first dunes. Nice and cozy interior and tasty food. The owner organized us a camel ride. Staff doesn't speak much English so it's helpful to be able to speak French or Arabic.

Economy room has a shared bathroom with a squatting toilet, so just note that if you're not able to squat, it's better to reserve a more expensive room.

This was our favourite place to stay in Marocco - maybe anywhere! The rooms are spacious, clean, pretty and very comfortable. Breakfasts were AMAZING, the location was perfect, and the organised tour into the desert was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The location was fantastic, and we loved the friendly cats outside the house, who were obviously well taken care of. Youssef is one of the kindest, most welcoming, and most friendly people we met on our journey, and we can't recommend staying here highly enough.

A negative thing became something positive: I caught a bad flu on our way to Merzouga, which kicked in on our first night. It meant we had to postpone everything we had planned as I was completely incapacitated. When you're sick, you appreciate the small things more: how very comfortable the bed was, how the room could be completely dark when you wanted it to be, the quiet neighbourhood, the strong wifi, the excellent water pressure in the shower, etc. Youssef was also very understanding and flexible; his helpfulness made us feel at home. Thank you!

The hotel is in a perfect location, two minutes from the Main Street and with plenty of choices for food and activities; a close walk from the dunes as well. The room was really nice and clean and Idir’s attention and availability made us feel like at home. Thank you ever so much!!

Comfy beds, quiet, on edge of sand dunes.

This is morocco hospitality at its best. Our favorite people in our whole trip; genuine, sweet, accommodating... Good food, spotless, walking distance to dunes. They also arrenged our camel ride and were very professional at all times.

Most of my communication was with Idir, who I think works for Chez Youssef. Idir was very kind and kept in constant contact. My supratours bus arrived late from Ouarzazate in the evening and he was there to pick me up and walk to Chez Youssef together. His French and Spanish are great, English not so much but gets by. The place is clean, has shower a toilet (not of the conventional western kind). When I visited late December it was very quiet in the area. Local families of Merzouga live in small houses around. Table tennis table available. Rooftop terrace with a view of desert. And inside is adorned nicely. It was very cold at night time in December here, but sure enough they had a warm sleeping bag in my room available for use :) I did a short tour of the desert for a good price. This involved Idir taking me to a local camel herder, who then does the tour. This local may ask for a small tip after. Other members of staff very kind too and welcoming.

Unfortunately the WiFi didn't work, which was a shame. But Idir and his colleague tried hard and for a long time to get it to work for me, which I appreciate.

Youssef is absolutely the best part of Chez Youssef. We have yet to meet a more generous and kind person on our travels. Youssef and his family are friendly and accommodating and didn’t hesitate to drop everything to help us book tours or give us directions. And when we got back from our excursions he was always waiting with a smile and asking whether we had a good time. He prepared a vegetarian breakfast for us each morning and was so attentive ensuring we had everything we needed. I highly recommend staying at Chez Youssef, if only to experience his hospitality.

Youseff organized a wonderful trip by camel into the dunes where we camped for one evening. It was magical.

Youssef arranged for us a very authentic Moroccan experience for a night in the middle of the desert with 2 berber guides. He was supportive and helped us also for additional activities such ATV tour.

We had not much time to stay here :( Some little details in the communication, room or in the tent can be improved but they are not fundamental: Youssef's hospitality will make you forget them and live an amazing experience.

Our stay at Youssef was amazing, he makes you feel really at home and is super kind. The room, breakfast and hospitality were great and Youssef organizes night trips to the dessert in a mobile camp far away from all the luxury camps. Chez Youssef is marked with a star in the book the Lonely Planet and with good reason. He is very welcoming. He organized all our excursions with awesome local guides. Made us a good dinner. The house he built is beautiful, but most importantly M. Youssef is an exceptional caring host. Knowing that our next destination after our stay with him was Marrakesh, he contacted us to make sure we were ok and if we needed any assistance following the earthquake event. Would recommend him 100%

A perfect place to stay in Merzouga if you want a proper Moroccan experience. Youssef was so friendly, and helped to organize a desert night for us with his friends Ali and Youssef - where we rode into the desert on camels and were cooked the tastiest Tagine we had in Morocco. Away from the hoards of tourists in tent city, it was a unique and intimate experience. So glad we stayed here and couldn’t recommend it more, especially with the desert night. Other local recommendations: We loved having coffee and chilling at Chez Les Artistes - went there twice it was so peaceful.

Youssef has a rockstar reputation in travel guides such as lonely planet and he certainly didn’t disappoint. He is so kind and welcoming. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He gives great travel advice. We also book a trek in the desert through him, and it was perfect. You should 100% stay there !

Youssef cooked us a hearty breakfast, gave us local recommendations and booked a camel ride. He clearly cares about his guests.

We incidentally killed a sand roach that was hiding under the leg of a chair, but given the rustic location, it was understandable.

We absolutely recommend Hotel chez Youssef. Such a friendly, welcoming and caring host, who was always making sure we have everything need and we feel like home. His traditional sahara house is absolutely beautiful and special. The bedroom and the house in general is clean and very comfortable. Upstaires there's a terrace with a stunning view on the sand dunes of the desert. Even after checking out we were welcomed to stay for several hours inside his hotel in an air-conditioned room, in which we took a nap whilst the hottest time of the day. We were even given the opportunity to take shower then. Youssef organised an authentic and adventurous camping trip to the desert of Merzouga ghiuded by a team of two very professional and friendly sahara experts including an amazing camel ride only for the two of us, although we asked for the camping trip very very last minute at one of the busiest time of the season. All in all it was an amazing experience which we would love to repeat with the same host and the same team! Thank you, Youssef!

We loved the authenticity and kindness that we experienced at Chez Youssef. The place is intimate and well decorated. Food was excellent. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. What we enjoyed most was Youssef's spirit and kind hospitality. Youssef was also helpful giving us info on the area, and available to chat with us. We highly recommend Youssef's guesthouse to any travelers. Excellent value!

The most comfortable bed we have slept in since we have been in Marrocos. Very clean, quiet and beautiful traditional house. Yussef is very welcoming and helpful. He carefully organized us a private excursion in the dessert away from the crowds.

Youssef is a really great host and he organized a very lovely camel trip to the desert. Had lots of fun and a great local experience.

Youssef was very kind and helpful. We used the room just to take some rest before and after the desert experience which was organised by Youssef and was really nice.

Simple, charming, and comfortable property managed by Youssef and his wife. Youssef was so welcoming and hospitable. We ate dinners cooked by Youssef's wife in their beautiful courtyard for a truly warm and authentic experience. Youssef also arranged a sunset camel ride for us one evening which was so memorable. Amenities are lacking but we were tired from our drive arriving from Fes so we were there just to relax and enjoy the desert area. My husband and I were sick from something we ate in Fes and Youssef made us a home remedy drink that helped. Youssef's kindness cannot be beat! Highly recommend!

Excellent accueil par Youssef lui-même qui est aux petits soins et d’excellent conseil pour les activités à toutes heures. Il est le designer de ce petit hôtel où on se sent si bien. Il est aussi très bon cuistot et parle plusieurs langues! Et toujours avec sourire et humour.

I was welcomed from the time i parked my car. Youssef is a great host. He welcomed me with delicious cookies and mint tea. he also turned on the heater in the room for me. i feel very warm from both the environment and also from Youssef. I love how Youssef decorates the rooms and public area. The breakfast is awesome as well. i highly recommend you to stay with Youssef.

Excelente, el mejor lugar. Su dueño y las personas que trabajan con el son muy amables y acogedores. El lugar es limpio y muy bonito, la comida deliciosa y te asesoran muy bien para poder ir al desierto, para mi fue una experiencia increíble, estaba viajando sola y me orientaron muy bien. Lo recomiendo de todas maneras, al lugar y el tour al desierto, que es una experiencia única y que vale la pena hacer. Volvería sin dudarlo, muchas gracias por todo!!!!!

Sometimes things appear too good to be true. When I booked this place the day before, there were not many decent places left on Expedia for Merzouga, and I did have bad experience before that some fake people post high rating reviews on a property that disappointed me badly. So I was highly skeptical. But I was happy that I was proved wrong. Youssef is such a wonderful host, he picked me up from the bus station at 5:30am in the early morning and put me to the comfort of his living room sofa to catch up some sleep before the guests checked out. I never slept on anyone's sofa including mine for 3 hours. The breakfast is both healthy and filling, with eggs, omelette, fresh orange juice, fruits and different breads, such a nice treat in his sun drenched beautiful courtyard. He also arranged the sunset camel tour for me, and I was able to spend a magical night in a duvet covered bed in a tent. The room of course is very comfortable and clean. Too bad due to the over night camel tour I was only able to spend a couple of hours in the actual bed. :) The next morning he started early again to prepare breakfast for me when I returned from the desert and help me with my luggage back to the bus station. I have stayed in so many places in the world, but rarely I have had the real feeling that it is the home away from home. This time it was, in the desert of Morocco. Thanks Youssef, if I ever come back again to Merzouga, you know where I will be staying.

The hotel is the best out of all the places I stayed in Morocco in 3 weeks of time. It very cute, very pretty, very clean. The owner is super nice as well. We didn’t arrange for pick up. We arrived late by the bus. The owner was worried so he came to the bus station to pick us up. The next day, he let us hang around the hotel until we got picked up by the desert trip in the later afternoon.

We had the best stay here in Morocco, everything was well organised and the breakfast was our favourite at chez Youssef. Ended up staying one more night here because it was simply amazing! Highly recommend this place!

We loved our stay at Youssef's house. The location is great, very close to the desert and to the center of the village. House is very cute and lovely. Our room was big and very clean. Shower and toilet are good. You can't expect anything better is a small village near the desert really! Youssef is very nice and he was always there if we had questions. We also loved our breakfast, very tasty! We also tried dinner one night, it was absolutely amazing!!! Big big thanks again to our wonderful host and all his family! Shukran!

メルズーガでの砂漠ツアーのために1泊だけしました。 【良かった点】 ・今回のモロッコ旅行中でNo1の朝食。特に熱々のオムレツが最高。 ・シャワーの湯量が豊富で熱々だった。 ・オーナーのユーセフさんが明るく、いつも気遣ってくれて楽しく過ごせた。旅行前に砂漠ツアーのことを相談した時も、返信が早くてプランの検討をしやすかった。砂漠ツアーも私たちにとっては妥当な値段だった。チェックアウトの朝、水を購入しなければならないと考えていたら1本（2Lボトル）プレゼントしてくれて、とてもありがたかった。 ・年末の滞在だったがエアコンがあり、快適に過ごせた。 【気になる点】 ・部屋の照明が若干暗め。ただ、それ以外気になることなし。 全般的に、大変満足のゆく滞在だった。出来れば数日のんびりしたかった。もしメルズーガに再び行くことがあれば、必ずこちらを利用します。

Chez Youssef was such a wonderful place to stay in the desert. Youssef was hospitable and informative and his house was comfortable, the bed was the best we have slept on in years!! The Tajine he made us for dinner was the best one we ate during our trip.

Kleine, gemütliche Unterkunft im typischen Lehmhaus mit mehreren Zimmern, Aufenthaltsraum und Innenhof. Youssef führt das Haus mit seiner Familie - er ist sehr freundlich und super hilfsbereit! Das Haus liegt mitten im Ort, ist aber durch die Beschilderung leicht zu finden. Parken kann man auf der Strasse direkt vor dem Haus. Von hier aus sind es 1,5 km (5 Min mit dem Auto oder 20 Min zu Fuß) zum Parkplatz vor der großen Düne von Merzouga. Youssef bietet auch Übernachtungen im Wüstencamp an.

Youssef is a very gracious and accommodating host with a great sense of humor. The fresh, homemade meals are very delicious and his breakfast is very delicious as well. Chez Youssef is a very clean and quiet place to relax and recharge before heading out in to the Sahara. It's a 5 minute walk to the bus station or other cafes. I highly recommend Chex Youssef for anyone traveling to Merzouga. Talk to Youssef about desert adventures. He is extremely knowledgeable and can be of great assistance.

メルズーガまで徒歩圏内で、オーナーのYoussefがとても細やかな心遣いをしてくれます。 部屋にはエアコンがあって、シャワーもちゃんとお湯が出て水圧もちょうどよかったです。 すぐに乾燥するので使いませんでしたが、ドライヤーがあったのも嬉しいですね！ ここで申し込んだ砂漠ツアーは、テントがベッド&水洗トイレ付きで素晴らしかったです！ おすすめですよー！
