Hotel rooms were little bit smelly we had to change room. Staff was very friendly. But for weekends it was houseful.
Food was good
We expected a 4 star experience but felt like staying in lodge. For simple things we have to call them again and again. They were supposed to provide the toiletries like comb, dental kit, razor, moisturizer etc but to our surprise they said " We give on demand "!!! Who does like this? Most horrible thing : At malpe beaches are closed from 15 may to 15 September every year, but this was not mentioned anywhere on booking. Com!!! People spend money and time to reach there and they get closed beaches.
I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel with my family. The room was in a poor condition when we checked in. The bathroom taps were broken, the bathroom door knob was damaged, there was no water coming to the wash basin, the AC was not working, the door mesh/net was torn, and the room and bedding were not properly cleaned. To make matters worse, no bedsheets were provided in the family room. Despite raising multiple complaints, most of these issues were addressed only by the evening. Instead of spending quality time with my family and enjoying our stay, I had to spend several hours following up with the staff to get the AC, taps, and other basic amenities fixed.
Location is superb. Food is average but prices are rather high than good, authentic resturants outside.Customer service is very poor. The guys at the reception have a "don't care" attitude. Property is not maintained well, the rooms are also not well-kept.Moulds & patches on the walls.Furniture is peeling out.Cob-webs inside the lampshades!! The curtains are very dirty & small in size.Dirty ceiling fan & the AC cooling is insufficient. All the management had to say "it's a very old property, so it is like that". Total mismanagement in the hotel specially during breakfast time ( complimentary breakfast). All are literally fighting who will take the food first & no body to control that. Nowhere Paradise Isle is a 4 star hotel.
We booked this resort for 2 days so that we get a feel of being very close to the beach. It met all our expectations with regards to the rooms and also breakfast was good with a good sea view. Only thing that bothered us a bit was on 2nd day after the room clean, we found few small cockroaches running on the edges of the wall or inbetween the bathroom doors. If that is taken care it's a perfect stay for how many ever days you wish to stay for. My daughter loved it very much...
Staff at Reception should be properly trained to understand how to welcome and be understanding towards tired travellers ! Indifferent and untrained staff at their breakfast restaurant !
The property is in a very good location. Right opposite to malpe beach. But the property is very old and poorly maintained and rooms are not worth 8000 per night. Window , sun shades and balcony full of pigeon droppings. Found a Lizard and Lizard droppings in the room. Bathroom was clean. Beach view rooms are Too small for a family of 4. Breakfast was ok. Menu was limited due to gas issues. Food tasted good. Reception staff are dull and unresponsive. Suraj was the only one who was helpful and did a good job. Nemo and bubbles bar are 2 of the restaurants outside their property and all 3 restaurants have same menu. Bubbles was not good of the 3 in terms of service and ambience.
It's a prime property at Malpe beach. Good hospitality but rooms require little renovation. Little small in size. But it's the best thing in Udupi. Limited veg options around. But in-house restaurant is good
Proximity to beach. Clean
A/c kept going off
Facilities are not managed properly
Regretted booking for two days..!! Definitely not the money we pay for! Flooring very poor- small marble stones looking very dirty. Shower place was not fully covered in bottom thereby causing flood in the bathroom after taking bath-pictures and video shows the flooding in the bathroom..!! One full half day no water- reason given pipe burst! In which case they shd hv intimated and made some arrangement like supplying a bucket of water atleast!! It was awful when realised no water after using the latrine..!!
Over all not the worth
This place is a complete disaster and an absolute cheat. We prepaid and confirmed 2 rooms through their official website, yet on arrival they shamelessly said no booking exists and claimed the resort was fully packed. Utter incompetence and zero accountability. We were dumped into ONE cramped room, falsely calling it a family room, and had the nerve to charge us for two rooms. Pure exploitation of guests who had already traveled. The so-called New Year rooftop party was a total joke. A random childish host, a boring magic show, and unpleasant, ear splitting, irritating music. No DJ night, no dance floor, no New Year vibe, no drinks included — nothing even remotely worth the price. It felt awkward and embarrassing, not celebratory. This resort is built on fake hype, misleading photos, and terrible management. Once they have your money, they don’t care how badly they ruin your stay. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this place. One of the worst hospitality experiences ever.
The only advantage of this hotel was the location on the beach. Rest all substandard. Old hotel which needs refurbishment soon. Neither rooms nor staff were pleasing. Somehow spent my two nights as mostly time spent outside exploring the city and beaches. Too pricey as compared to the value.
We stayed at Paradise Isle Beach Resort with family for 3 nights / 4 days during the Christmas period. The location is the only real highlight—the resort sits right on Malpe Beach, which is beautiful and peaceful. Unfortunately, everything else fell short, especially considering the festive pricing, which was almost three times the usual rate. We booked a Sea Facing Premium Room, but there was nothing premium about it. The room was small, fittings were old, and the overall feel of the property is dated. The website mentions bathtubs, but there were none in our room. When we checked with reception, we were told bathtubs were removed due to leakage issues-yet the room continues to be sold at a premium price. The entire property clearly needs a major revamp. Service and hospitality were disappointing: In the restaurant, no one comes to take orders unless you call for staff. Water was never refilled proactively. There was no courtesy or warmth-not even a simple “Thank you for staying with us” or “Hope you had a good stay.” Food was very expensive and average in taste (we are vegetarians, so cannot comment on non-veg options). Overall, the resort seems to rely heavily on its location, but location alone cannot justify premium pricing. With better hospitality, upgraded rooms, and more transparency, this could be a good property-but in its current state, it is not value for money. Udupi is a lovely destination, and we would happily visit again—but I think not this resort.
We had a memorable stay without any hassles or issues. Staff were friendly and resourceful. Restaurants are good. This is right at the beach.
0/5 Review for Paradise Beach resort- Room interior not good Some lights not working Amenities and hairdryer drawers were empty Shower was filled with dirt Food was not so good and tasty Cost of room was too much Pool water was not clean it was green Bathtub is not clean and doesn’t work properly
Sea side view
The property seems to be ill maintained ...understaffed or staffs not duly paid...dirt at places...pool under maintenance... intercom missing in one room... toile flush issues...food over priced
Hotel location is good, its just near malpe beach and hotel rooms are also nice
Staff behaviour.
Due to rain, there was a lot of water in my room. Although the overall stay was okayish, the basement was filled with water. The badminton court and pool table was in a very bad condition. When we went for swimming, there was a small kitten dead by the pool. When i informed the staff, they did not show too much concern about the fact and told us that we could use the pool and they will remove the cat. They did not care to clean the pool. Overall the cleanliness of the resort is really bad, needs a lot of maintenance. It is a lot of money for the sea facing rooms. Not worth the price.
Horrible rooms , full of bed bugs , stinking rooms, not worth of 1000 Rs of hotel
We had a wonderful experience during our stay at Paradise Isle. The propoerty was on Malpe Beach. The staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make our stay and sightseeing easy and comfortable!!!
L’emplacement.....
Tout : l’accueil est déplorable : il n’a pas été possible de communiquer. Les chambres sont sales, il n’y a aucune isolation Le restaurant pour le petit déjeuner est repoussant de saleté. Cet hôtel est trop cher
Hospitality was good and entire staff was very helpful and co-operative. Room was spacious and clean. Food and cleaness was also good. Sea view from the room was awesome, but only one regret is that all the water games and sail to St.Mary Island was withdrawn during our vist due to bad weather conditions.
The rooms need rework, AC was not working in an AC room, couldn’t sleep, bathroom are leaking and not maintained, parking and entrance need a revamp, Food is really bad and few choices. No wash area coming from beach, kids sand all over reception and bad toiletries
It was rush period and the room we booked was not so great. The hotel is a huge one and exactly on the beach but not maintained the best. I found rest rooms leaking water constantly , walls not painted well and over all looked old and not maintained. There was massive rush for breakfast and the dinning area was too small to handle so many people. Overall below expectation.
The rooms requires some plastering work. For the amount we paid we haven't received basic things like paste, brush and those kind of items
I traveled from USA to UDUPI to attend a reunion. At Udupi stayed at Paradise Isle Beach Resort for 7 days. We are about 50 guests. The resort’s location is breathtaking, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Just in front of Malpe Beach. The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming, courteous and helpful throughout our stay. I would like to thank each and every member of the team. Especially Mr. Arjun who coordinated our event. The Rooms were clean and very comfortable. View from the rooms is awesome. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet each morning. The food and drinks at the adjacent restaurants with in the hotel management were also excellent. Enjoyed morning walks on the Malpe beach. Great experience overall. It is a good beach resort. I will give 5 out of 5 stars for this resort
95th Pilots and 33rd Navigators Course had passed out on 13 March 1966. For anniversary celebrations, as a venue, the organisers, after a detailed search homed on to Paradise Isle Beach Resort, Malpe Beach. Terms and conditions were negotiated which included lunch and dinner as well along with the normal tariff charged. 27 rooms were booked. Mr Arjun, the Assistant Sales Manager, at Paradise Isle Beach Resort was most accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Even went out of his way to arrange for and liaise with the Cab company to meet all our cab needs, including pick-up and drop at the airport. We celebrated our 59th Commissioning Anniversary at Paradise Isle Beach Resort Malpe Beach from 12th to 15th March 2025. The Resort is located right on Malpe Beach and has a wonderful view from the dining hall and other first-floor rooms. Rooms are spacious and airy. Our room no. 607 was beach- facing with a spacious balcony with a wonderful view of the Beach. About food. Breakfast good. Spread included fresh fruits, juices, eggs, bread and south indian as well as north indian breakfast items. Lunch and Dinner. Starters and all the items, veg as well as non-veg were quite tasty. No complaints whatsoever on food front. The staff was helpful & courteous. Special mention to the ladies of the housekeeping staff who were outstanding in providing good service. We will cherish our 59th anniversary and stay at Paradise Isle Beach Resort for a long time to come.
Rooms were not that pleasing. Some how did not get the vibe of resort
Stayed in Room 6XX there. Room was on 1st floor (do not know why itt was nunbered 6xx series). Place stinks. The entire floor has a a washroom at the entrance of the floor lobby. It stinks. The smell pervades throughout entire floor. The room toilets 'looked' clean but a very dirty odour emanated from the commode or duct. Swimming pool water was dirty with bird feathers and droppings. Great location. Poorly maintained hotel. Breakfast was below average quality. The stink from the washrooms was there in the restaurant too. Overall poor experience. Room was not ready at time of check in at 5pm and then alternate room was allocated after an altercation between the staff themselves! Overall poor experience. Staff is courteous and helpful (eg Rahul D'Souza etc.) But will never consider this property again for a vacation.
Very poor maintenance, bath room is in very bad state, TV remote is not working or get replacement even after complain. Overall it is really very bad choice for the amount charged for the accommodation.
View
Not clean enough, not maintained, loud speakers blaring, very disappointing
We stayed in the rooms with beach view, clean, spacious and well prepared rooms with comfortable beds and clean toilets & showers. The in house restaurant offered delicious meals. The buffet breakfast was generous. The beach is right in front of the resort. The staff were attentive and helped with all the information you need. For the guests who arrive by public transport there is a auto stand and the charges were fair.
A travel desk would have been nice.
Location.
I went at the wrong time. The food festival was very noisy at the beach.
Only benefit was it's location, it is situation right on the famous beach. Room was small and was very smelly, it was smelling like alcohol all the time. Food at their restaurants like Bubble and Nemo's was good but it is little pricey.
We (family of 3 adults) stayed for 2 nights in a non-sea facing room. Hotel location is superb, right on malpe beach. In fact, sea facing rooms and the 1st floor restaurant (Ocean View) have fantastic Arabian sea views. You just have to walk 20-30 metres from the hotel gates to be at Malpe beach. Auto stand is nearby, making connections with Udupi City, very very easy. The hotel has 3 inhouse restaurants and you can get multcuisine fare such as seafood, north indian, south indian, Chinese, alcoholic/non alcoholic beverages etc. We loved the food, particularly the seafood at Ocean view restaurant. Breakfast buffet is good. Room amenities include a refrigerator and good quality AC. The hotel staff are punctual, polite, sincere, service hospitality oriented, eager to please and responsive. The hotel has a good swimming pool, spa as well as indoor games such as badminton, table tennis, carrom, snooker etc. The supreme "malpe beach" location, the numerous recreation amenities, the ample restaurant food options and the hospitality orientation made us feel like we enjoyed 4 star type service while paying an affordable 3 star type tariff. We would recommend this resort hotel to anyone who wants to visit Udupi with a leisure orientation.
It's a horrible place. Looks nice on the outside but very shabby inside. The moment you enter u can see the mismanagement in the property . The front door has a missing handle, the glass doors are dirty. The swimming pool area smells of pee. The food is bad. Not enough lights in the room. Dirty bed linens. No window openings. A lot of power cut throughout the day. Although it comes back within minutes but those minutes are difficult to manage. And if you are in the bathroom it gets just impossible. It's pitch dark in the bathroom if no lights
Breakfast was pretty good - mix of Indian and more western options (usually kid friendly like "chicken nuggets") and varied from day to day. The place is right on the beach and overlooks the main section of beach that people swim at and gather around. All of the food options and street stalls also sort of centre around the fringes of the property too.
The property is looking a bit tired, but not too bad. They also didn't seem to have any credit card facilities that could cope with an international credit card - fortunately I had cash, or I'm not sure what they would have done (they were quite happy to let me stay while we tried to figure it out - which was great).
The location of this resort superv bang on malpe beach. You can view sea from your room. Nice staff and food is also delicious. But the property is old need immediate overhaul. Rooms are spacious but furniture is old bathroom fitting do not work properly. Management should think about it
We stayed at the hotel booking 2 rooms. One was Deluxe sea view, another was std Double bed room(non-sea facing). The stay experience was very pleasant. Likes: 1. Best Location in Malpe 2. Service/Staff behavior 3. Cleanliness 4. Food quality Some of the improvement areas as follows: 1. Furniture & fittings need revival 2. Food is overpriced in the in-house restaurant 3. Hotel rooms are prices based on 2 persons, not based on size. This can be re-priced based on accommodation capacity
A curate’s egg, good in parts & not-so-good in parts, Paradise Isle has its positives - warm front desk staff members, spacious rooms & a superb location (right on Malpe beach). However, the rooms have a fairly old look and need refurbishment. Also, the restaurant starts breakfast late (8 am) and just couldn’t handle a simple request (tea & bread) an hour earlier (7 am). On balance, the pros outweigh the cons & I recommend the place for a night’s stay in Malpe.
The only plus point is opposite to beach, nice view. The hotel staff is polite and quick service but small rooms. Less space in dining hall, very poor taste food. Not many food varieties, not hot. Hotel need to improve food taste and dining space
Very poor management, inexperienced staff who needs to be trained interns of how to talk to guests. It's 1:50 pm, and still the room is not ready for guests to enter. Not a pleasant entry experience.... I have to stay for few days here let's see how the stay is going to be.
Rooms are pretty bad / broken stuff.
No. Never. I would never suggest anyone to come and stay here who are spending so much of their time and money for having a quality time with their loved ones. The hotel looks clean and shiny from outside but inside its a completely different and not at all maintained. Lights aren't enough. Furniture and fixtures are broken and hanging. They give only extra mattress to sleep on the floor, no foldable bed. So if you need an extra bed to accommodate yourself in the same room, you will be given on side beg mattress to adjust yourself. Spider web in the bathroom. No proper support or handle, is given to get in or get out from the bath tub when u go for your normal bath(not the dipping in the bath tub). So if getting inside or coming out you have to be cereful as you might fall off due to slippery floor. No floor mat to dry your feet s you come out of tye bath tub. No hand towel. No food refil available even you go during breakfast hours. They would politely say, "sorry ma'am." Unwelcoming manager /staff at the Ocean View Restaurant. We went for dinner. The Manger was very reluctant in suggesting their best selling dishes. Food is below average. Can't say good food. Breakfast options are very little and inadequate in terms of quantity and varieties. Big NO.
The Paradise Isle stay was Fabulous and worth every penny. The room, property, view, hospitality, food and service is 5 star. The family enjoyed the beach, pool and food. The restaurant and its team were always helpful and have been a Joy to interact. The evenings are the best time to have a quiet chat by the beach. If you want Peace of mind and family time, then this is the place to be.
Management was nothing less than a nightmare that refused in the most nasty and verbally abusive manner to accommodate my disability which they guaranteed on the phone prior. Most greedy and fraudulent hotel I have ever stayed in my life. The General Manager yelled at me for over 2 hours for even having a back problem and refused to return my advance payment before check in. Director Manohar is no different and made this a real prison sentence which was intended as a 20 year anniversary. Biggest tourist trap in Udupi. Criminal conduct and we will seek legal recourse for first time in our life do no other guest suffers like we did. They even retaliated with the tea the next morning. If we drank it, we would be in the hospital. Extremely dangerous place behind the beautiful backdrop. BEWARE. Stay in Manipal and take taxi for $3-4 20 minutes to Malpe.
It's a good resort. The location is awesome. Just opposite the Malpe sea beach. Lots of car parking enclosed area. No issue with the security. Breakfast is good. People are helpful. We stayed in a deluxe sea-view room for 3 nights and 3 days. There are two types of sea-view rooms. One with a balcony and another one without. Without a balcony is a big room.
Stayed here for a couple of nights with family. Its located right at the beautiful, Malpe beach. The view of the beach from the dining room is gorgeos. The staff is generally helpful and polite. Our room experience wasnt that good. There was a persistent stench in the bathroom and frequent interventions of air freshners helped a bit. Room service was on the slower side. Breakfast in terms of choices in the buffet as well as taste was disappointing though. One great thing they have is a prominent listing of nearby attractions and things to do. Proved very helpful for us.
Got a lot more than we expected...The sea view from the dining hall is spectacular. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous . The Room was clean, well maintained and comfortable. Staff was helpful and courteous. The Central location means that the auto stand, beach shacks and fast food joints are just a stone's throw away. And of Course Malpe Beach
great location , near to beach and good eating outlets
very expensive, poor service not value for money at all
clumsy rooms, unresponsive staff, dirty, food spread had flies
Awesome location and next level service. Would recommend every one to visit. The location is awesome The food is exceptional Rooms are gr8 Staff are coprative Fun zone is fun Value to money Swimming pool was nice
It was an excellent stay.we stayed thier for couple of days.beauriful view from the room.service was very good.Rooms were neet and clean. It's our second stay here.this time the hospitality was very gud Special Thanks to GM, who personally met us.
The location is perfect. The sea view room was spacious and had a good balcony. A few of the restaurant staff were very pleasant.
Some of the management staff didn't understand English or hindi and wanted to enter the room even when they were stopped twice. My kids were inside waiting for their turns to bathe but the water was very hot. Even after explaining for 15 minutes that person wasn't able to understand. It was with the help of cleaning staff that i was able to get normal temperature water to bathe. It took them 45 minutes to provide a bucket of normal temperature water. The buffet breakfast doesn't open until 8/ 8:15 am
only location if Malpe beach is high on agenda. staff was good.
1. not worth stating as a 3- star resort. it’s a decent guest house type property. definitely needs renovation and better upkeep 2. price charged for what is provided. the rooms smelt weird, the linen did not feel clean at all. 3. the pool area was not clean. first day the pool was only half filled. 4. did not even want to check out the spa looking at the entrance next to the pool area. overall felt it’s highly over priced for the infrastructure. would not recommend this.
Unable to. Manage the buffet crowd
The property is good and tbe beach is across the property. complimentary breakfast wasexc ellent, ocean view from restaurant ia amazing. We were very dissappointed with the reception staff who was extremely rude. Despite our request to get the room cleaned, it was not done. Instead of accepting his mistake he was arguing and stating absurd rules that permission was not given by the occupant. I dont know how else you should tell them for getting the room cleaned. We have given the feedback at the hotel too
Ground floor water and waster water system along with electrical provision to be improved
more electrical sockets, more exhaust fans etc
Location, that's it
Room lights too low, Bad Smell in room, Bathroom taps leakage, Bathroom taps too old, No toiletries, Too much stinky, dirty room and bathroom Overall this hotel need full renovation, but front Desk staff behaving like they are 5 star hotel
Excellent location. Fast service. Swimming pool opens at 10 am and closes by 5 pm- this is very inconvenient and makes no sense. Should open 8 am to 8 or 9 pm. Best time to use swimming pool in Mangalore is after sunset.
The room was just not clean - dirt on the floor and furniture. All the faucets in the bathroom were leaking and on top of that there was no shower curtain. Housekeeping services were extremely poor as well. Perhaps the only good thing was the location of the property
Ok beautiful site beach in front of the hotel an food tasty in hotel but bit costly
Location is excellent, reception lobby is not impressive, rooms could have been better, front office staff are good
The beach view rooms are very good. The ac could have been
Amenities and cleanliness is pretty bad!! You can only book this property for location. Its ban on the beach. The service and food is also bad
Except the location, there is nothing that can be appreciated about this property. Front office Manager - Pujari( don't know his name) to room conditions, restaurant food and service there, cleaniness. Seems they are believe the people have no option but to come here for location advantage. I have not see any such arrogant front office Manager in hospitality industry. Good luck to these folks! Travellers, use your discretion and judgement before booking. So many bad reviews but still I thought there could be bias but seems they don't want to change.
Great location, good food, excellent service. Can do better on room quality and facilities. Staff is very helpful and welcoming.
The only saviour to this place is the location of the property otherwise a complete NO for any of the services.
In front of beach is probably the main reason people would decide to stay here. Breakfast was really good and also the restaurant was good with reasonable food choices but it was served in very odd sequence and no attention details such as we requested food to be served first for kids and we had to keep repeating but no one seems to listen. Good sea view from the room .Swimming pool was closed for total revamp, they kindly agreed to move into their other facilities but it was too much of hessels for us to repack and move. Good sports facility badminton, TT, snooker but not many people were using it. I did enter the SPa but surrounding smell was bad, may it was coming from the toilets next door . They had little pots with water for washing the sands, I would suggest a shower would be more useful and so the rooms won’t get dirty with unwanted sand.
Very near to Saint Mary's island and in front of beach value for money
