Breakfast was good. The room was spacious and clean. No noise whatsoever could be heard from our room. Good overnight stay to have when you have a long way to travel.

Clean and comfortable accommodation central for were we were going. Food choice was good and reasonable

Although on a main road, the room was very quiet and looked out over farmland. The staff were fantastic, breakfast and dinner were also very good. It is located a short drive from Bamburgh castle. There is also a petrol station and cafe on site

The door locks seemed a bit flimsy.

The location right off the A1 is really useful. Having the 24-hour shop available meant that there was food and drink, despite a late arrival. The staff were friendly.

The room was quite noisy with road noise, but I don't think that could be helped. Some marks on the bedding - I think were stains but still not very appealing.

Amazing! We booked to visit Bamburgh Castle for our wedding anniversary and needed somewhere to stay nearby the castle, purfy Lodge exceeded our expectations when we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast included in the price of booking which was reasonable even without breakfast thrown in, the breakfast was lovely and had options to have continental aswel as ordering cooked breakfast at no extra cost. We also ate dinner on the evening which had lots of choice and cooked perfectly, table service from staff was fast, efficient and friendly. We left feeling well looked after even with a staff shortage the morning we checked out. It is family and dog friendly including rooms and bar area which was lovely to see dogs being treated as family members. We will definitely be staying again and recommend purdy lodge to all 😊

The breakfast menu included lots of ‘continental’ choices as well as full English. I chose a croissant, which was served warmed, nice touch. The coffee was excellent! Dinner menu was equally varied, and the sea bass was superb!

We were after a comfortable stop on the motorway and this was just that. Quiet, clean, efficient, good food and a quick start next morning.

It was very nice, I shared a room with my humans, who were obviously comfortable because they snored a lot. I made some new friends in the breakfast room whilst my humans had breakfast and talked about how good the food was. The staff were lovely and made a fuss of me. I had left over sausage, yum. We were close to the beach and sea.

Staff were lovely....very welcoming and chatty. Also very professional under pressure. We witnessed one businessman turn up for breakfast 10 minutes after last orders and they were extremely professional, resetting the table they had just cleared sway and taking his order very calmly. The curtain fell off the rail and was hanging off...the carpets had a few marks on them and the fan in the bathroom wasn't working. These were minor things. However, the thing that we were most dissatisfied with was the lack of water pressure when we had our morning shower. The trickle was farcical and totally unacceptable. It was very difficult to even rinse shampoo from our hair. I tried to speak to someone about this on checkout but there was no-one about and I didn't want to disturb the girls as they seemed rushed off their feet as it was. I certainly think we deserved a discount off our bill for the terrible shower!

Purdy Lodge represents great value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restaurant provided a hearty breakfast and dinner was great value withe the sea bass being a highlight. The staff were friendly and looked after us well..

Great breakfast with eggs cooked to order, for once! Handy for Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne Island. Free parking with plenty of spaces.

The rooms are a little run down. The mattress was worn out and quite uncomfortable. The motel is a practical place to stop if you're on a tight budget.

Warm friendly welcome, very comfortable bed with nice linen. Interesting to read the history of Purdy Lodge and the family.

Sehr gutes Frühstück, welches auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet wurde. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war sehr niedrig und die Wassertemperatur ließ. Sich schlecht regulieren.

The staff were all very friendly and there was a nice breakfast in the morning.

The bathroom was very small and hardly any water pressure in the shower. I didn't feel the room was very clean and everything felt outdated.

Too many dogs, especially in the dining room. Bathroom was very small, water pressure in the shower was poor, no grab rail.

The room was large and comfortable comfy chair good bed slept well tea coffee biscuits every day. The girls were helpfull above and beyond breakfast lots of choice well presented.

We didn't like having shower over the bath not many toiletries but very clean.

Het enige wat beviel was het ontbijt (dat was goed gestructureerd) en het restaurant die 24 uur per dag open is. Dus hoe laat je ook komt voor je kamer, je kan altijd naar binnen.

De kamer was veel en veel te klein voor een gezin. Twee twijfelaars is niet te doen met een gezin met pubers. De badkamer was redelijk schoon op een grote schimmel plek na. Onder de douche staan waar een verzoeking. Totaal geen waterkracht, ik zal niet zeggen dat het druppelde, maar zo zou je het nog het beste kunnen uitdrukken. En 4 sterren? Ja als schimmel je een extra ster bezorgd zou je het terecht genoemd kunnen worden. Gemaakte vriendelijkheid is geen vriendelijkheid. Een cursusje hospitality zou het personeel geen kwaad doen. Op die ene enkeling na die het wel kon. Maar goed ieder zijn mening.

Nous avons passé un séjour agréable dans cet hôtel. Bien qu'il soit situé le long d'une route principale, nous n'avons été absolument pas dérangés par le bruit. La vue est superbe, avec des champs et un château au loin, ce qui rend le cadre particulièrement agréable. Le personnel est très accueillant et le petit-déjeuner, servi à l'assiette, était excellent.

En revanche, la literie était un peu trop molle à notre goût et nous avons eu des difficultés à régler la température de l'eau dans la salle de bain, ce qui a légèrement diminué notre confort.

Quiet room with a lovely view over the fields at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and served quickly. A big car park.

I appreciate many reviewers praised the staff but I found them a little disengaged which was a negative for me. I stayed on the ground floor corridor and thought the carpet and decor needed some renovation.

I found the room comfortable and certainly met my needs. I always love the breakfasts at Purdy Lodge which is why I return there and have booked again with friends in September. I do recommend staying here. The staff are friendly and there is a restaurant and an overnight cafe so you won't have to go far to find a meal or a coffee and Purdy Lodge serves good coffees.

I did not find fault with the Lodge it met my needs thank you.

Dinner in the restaurant was great much better than expected, also the Traditional breakfast was good. Room was clean, airy and spaceous, much like a Premier Inn. Bed was confortable. Because of the extreme heat overnight the staff provided us with a fan to help us sleep.

There is not much to say here, the one thing that was abit strange was that the hotel was at a Services on the A1. We thought this was a bit odd at first but soon came to realise that th location was great for touring the area.

We needed a comfy place to stay near Bamburgh Castle and the location was ideal. The room was very comfortable But most importantly, we needed a very early start the next morning, ie breakfast at 5 am. Not many hotels will provide this but Purdy House do. Magic

The only slight criticism would be that the evening restaurant does close the kitchens rather early. We only just made it but maybe that's why the evening meal wasn't up to the same standard as the breakfast, which was excellent.

The bed seemed really old and was so bouncy. I was staying on my own so it was okay but if there were two of you it would have been incredibly uncomfortable. I was in room 7.
