Lovely ambience. Good decor. Food was excellent, as was the room and facilities.
We had a fantastic stay at the White Swan Inn. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We loved the little touches such as the slow brew gin and baked goods left in our room each day!
Everything and will be definitely going back
Beautiful stay lovely surroundings
Nothing
Comfortable clean room. Excellent menu and quality restaurant. Ideally situated for Bamburgh and all usual tourist favorites but a sanctuary at the end of the day.
Breakfast choices are very good with fresh fruit platter (all the fruit was fresh and beautifully presented) and local kippers amongst the offerings. All the food is cooked fresh and the evening menu includes popular pub grub as well as more unusual choices. Food is excellent. Lovely touch with fresh cake and slo gin in the rooms. Fresh milk and cold water available from a fridge downstairs.
Cannot think of anything. I had thought the socket was too far from the mirror for hair drying but they had provided an extra mirror specifically to cope with this.
We stayed here for a wedding near by. The room was large and spacious. Complementary cake and sole gin each day was appreciated. The shower was excellent and the food in the pub (breakfast and dinner) was very good.
The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. The pillows were literally falling a part with bits coming off in the bed.
The room was very spacious. It was a lovely touch to welcome us 2 big slices of cake and some sloe gin. Then to replace it the next day. The food in the restaurant was first class. All the staff were very helpful and charming.

Super Frühstück und leckeres Abendbrot. Es gab jeden Tag ein anderes Stück Kuchen . Kaffee und Tee wurde jeden Tag auf gefüllt.

Hospitality and food
Cleanliness, it needs a full overhaul clean, especially inside and outside needs tidying to. Current pictures on here are very outdated.
Superb cuisine

Meals in the restaurant
Lovely room, clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. Complimentary cake and sloe ginba real bonus especially as the cake was delicious. Fabulous dinner, so tasty, beautifully presented and great value for money. Breakfast was just as good with a good choice. All the staff were so friendly and efficient. A wonderful stay all round.
It isn't nearer to where I live!
In a great location, nice and peaceful. The property has everything you need.

All meals were excellent. Breakfast was the best I have experienced at a B&B in the 60+ years I have been using B&B. The restaurant (50 Covers) was full all three nights we were at B&B. (There are just three letting bedrooms at )establishment
Only problem was accessing A1 road, which is single carriageway on leaving the hamlet, OK with very careful observation
Lovely room, and above average 'extras' (cake and home-made sloe gin in room). Fruit platter at breakfast was superb.
Clean and comfortable room ,good facilities, nice touches with cake and sloe gin treats
Nothing
The cake and sloe gin in the room plus the fact that we were called the evening before we to check if we wanted an evening meal as the restaurant was closing in half an hour.

People there were nice, helpful and had a good vibe.
One old cupboard. Old wood smell inside.
Great pub/restaurant. Food excellent and very well presented.
Great location just off the main road. In a quiet country village.
Nothing not to like
What a lovely hotel! Welcomed to the room by the lovely Leslie to find homemade cake and a snifter of Sloe gin on the side. The room was comfortable and roomy. There is a choice of real ale and craft cider. When it came to mealtime, the food on offer is superb. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal. The location is very quiet but the A1 is very accessible to enable visiting all the many local attractions in beautiful Northumberland. I would strongly recommend this little hotel!
There is nothing to dislike. The only proviso would be that, in our room, number 2, the bath is rather high. If you were not that good on your feet, you may struggle to get in and out safely. Didn't trouble us though.
A lovely warm welcome from the staff on arrival. Comfortable spacious room with home made sloe Gin & blueberry muffins which was a special touch. Breakfast the following morning was delicious.
The curtains in the room could do with being a bit thicker to keep the light out- might not bother some people but I like a dark room. Minor complaint though!
The staff were great and the food was out of this world. Apart from the usual things you expect you got some sloe gin in your room together with cake that was replenished every day. It was great value for money and well situated to visit everything in the area easily.

Fabulous food. Very tasty, very well presented and served hot. Great menu, both breakfast and dinner. Excellent. Lovely homemade cake in room as well.

A great stopover hotel. We arrived on cycles and the friendly staff were very helpful with overnight storage. Comfortable, spacious room. Very good bar and restaurant and a delicious breakfast. Perfect overnight stay for us.

Everything, picturesque location. Excellent food. Great village pub.
We liked everything.
The food was excellent. Probably the best we have ever had when we have stayed anywhere. Would definitely go back if only for the breakfast and dinner.
Everything was outstanding from the quality and comfort of the room to the excellent cuisine in the pub/restaurant. The staff were friendly, the breakfast superb and the atmosphere welcoming and convivial. We would certainly return as we felt the White Swann was great value and a wonderfully enjoyable experience.

The accommodation was just lovely and clean. The staff went the extra mile to make you feel welcome with complimentary cake and homemade gin. The breakfast was first class! We eat in the pub restaurant each evening and the food was excellent with a selection of fine wine. Ideal location for beaches and exploring.

We again really liked the cosy rooms.. the evening menu and the wonderful breakfast selection

Rooms are nicely decorated and clean, excellent shower and modern clean bathroom. Complementary cake and Sloe gin was excellent. Breakfast was excellent.
We were staying during the heatwave and the room was extremely hot. A fan in the room would have made for a more comfortable night.
Staff are very friendly. We went to the restaurant for dinner and the food was delicious! Lodge was clean and lovely and the hot tub was an excellent way to end the evening. Thank you!
Setting and location were relaxing and peaceful

Lovely room, well decorated and very clean. Room cleaned daily. Lovely extra touches in the room daily, bottled water, sloe gin, delicious home made cake. Breakfasts were delicious. Beautifully cooked fried breakfasts and great choice of breakfast "starters". The fruit platter was lovely. You could tell that really high quality ingredients were used. We had a meal one evening and again of a very high standard. Beer was reasonably priced. Well situated for day trips to Lindisfarne, Alnwick, Bamburgh etc
Only staying 5 nights! No garden.

Hele mooie lodge. Rustig gelegen en ruim. Met een heerlijke jacuzzi buiten. Goed ontbijt in de pub. Heel fijn om hier te verblijven.
Quiet location. Lovely hotel. Delicious breakfast. We also had great dinner there.
Everything that I had wanted. Comfortable with great good and excellent dinner options.

A quiet location just of the A1 in the small village of Warrenford The Sloe gin on arrival in room was delicious The fresh Victoria Sponge baked by the chef left in our room every day . Lovely gestures to welcome guests We ate in their restaurant both nights as the food was outstanding also . Advisable to book table as very popular . Comfortable bed & the roomy en-suite
Absolutely nothing
Good food and nice room.
Everything - hospitality, food, accommodation & two friendly lambs in the adjacent field.
Nothing.
Lovely place. Food was excellent. Staff were welcoming. Room was large and comfortable. Shower was lovely. The complimentary cake was a real bonus. Delicious!
The curtains let too much light in. When sunrise is at 4:30 that's not helpful
Great stay. The room, restaurant and bar were very good and the staff excellent!
Everything, very comfortable room, excellent food and friendly helpful staff.

A vegetarian version of a full English woul have been appreciated
The wooden bath mat was slippy when wet and not very safe or nice to use.
The food breakfast and dinners were excellent - very hard to find anything at all to improve
Nothing
Everything! Room was amazing. Great service, friendly staff. Food was first class.
The white swan was excellent, from cakes and scones left in our room along along with a fridge to keep fresh milk for our tea and coffee was a lovely touch, something most 5* hotels don’t even provide. The owners and staff were lovely and very hospitable, I have to say the food was exquisite both at breakfast and our evening meal. This is definitely a superb place to stay as rated on booking.com.

The location of this Inn was perfect to break our long journey from Suffolk to Dornoch. The staff were supberb and very friendly. The food was first class and could not be faulted. The rooms were perfect with comfortable beds and good facilities. We were travelling with 2 dogs and there was an amazing walk on the other side of the road, under the A1.
The only negative comment I could make would be about the outside of the Inn. The garden looked very untidy and unloved. There was only one suitable bench to sit on, on a very hot day and there was lots of 'stuff' everywhere. However, I think a good tidy up and the appearance of the whole site would improve dramatically.
De kamer was in een gezellige, rustige dorpspub waar je ook heerlijk kunt dineren. Het ontbijt was heerlijk verzorgd.
Location & breakfast was lovely with good choice
Room was very spacious but could of done with some black out blinds because used to sleeping after sunrise
Host was excellent and accommodating. Room very clean and cosy. Great location and breakfast choice was great

We stayed at the lodge chalet and it was perfect!! Tucked behind the pub to give you some privacy, a lovely hot tub, a spacious chalet with a comfy bed, modern and cozy bathroom and living area and the welcome wine and cake were an extra touch! The breakfast is amazing (genuinely the best pancakes I’ve had in a while) and great location for bamburgh and seashouses! Thank you so much :)
Close to the A1 for our onward journey
Garden could do with a tidy
Everything was absolutely amazing. The room was huge - king size bed, bedside tables & lamps, a large wardrobe, dressing table and two armchairs, plus a foot stool, and still plenty of room to walk around. The bathroom was also huge with a corner shower and a free standing bath in addition to the usual toilet and sink. All very tastefully decorated. So many extras included: small decanter of sloe gin, bowl of sweets, fresh cake every day, Nespresso machine & 2 pods in addition to a kettle. Also a small teapot. Fresh milk available from a fridge downstairs if wanted. A bottle of still water & one of sparkling water. A really good choice of breakfast items all cooked to order. Toast & croissants supplied. All food was cooked to perfection. We chose to have dinner in the restaurant both nights. Not typical ‘pub grub’. Such wonderful choices and very reasonable prices. Again, professionally cooked to perfection. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned each day and everything replenished, including fresh towels. Really wish we could have stayed longer. Location in a very quiet village (hamlet) but with easy access to A1 as well as the Northumberland Coastal Route.
Nothing!
The staff was very nice and helpful, the rooms very clean and well maintained, the food was very good. Very enjoyable stay😀
There is nothing not to like
Great size room - appreciated the welcome drink and cake in the room. Huge range of breakfast options wonderfully cooked. Great location for visiting Alnwick castle of the Holy Island. No noise from downstairs pub (which is well worth dropping in for a drink as is the restaurant which has a fantastic menu - we ate here both nights). Plenty of parking behind accommodation. Staff friendly and overall an ideal place to stay.
Nothing to note
Everything! Very clean and comfortable room, excellent food and friendly helpful staff. We loved returning after a day out to find fresh home made cake in the room a really nice touch. The food here is amazing with plenty of choice on the menu for all tastes, I can’t rate the White Swan high enough and hope to return for a fourth visit. A great location to explore the Northumbrian castles, coastline and countryside.
There is nothing to dislike
Fabulous food both at breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff.
Nothing
Loved everything - the tasteful but slightly eclectic decor throughout, wonderful food (both dinner & breakfast) and especially the little touches like towels folded into a double swan on the bed, and even the spare toilet roll had a swan origami on top! Enjoyed the complimentary cake & especially the sloe gin 😜. The epitome of a small country pub.
Nothing.
Friendly and helpful staff. Wide range of choice of breakfast food and dinner menu. Nice atmosphere. Good walk in shower and large bath.
Ideal for me just off A1
It was all excellent especially the food and the real ale . Lovely and well appointed bedroom with good linen .Friendly and attentive staff. We also appreciated the dog free dining room .
Nothing
Excellent food
A very minor point - Earl Grey Tea.
Food fantastic bottles water in room
The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. While the village itself is very quiet with little nearby, that suited us perfectly—we wanted a peaceful, relaxing base to explore the surrounding area, and The White Swan delivered just that. It’s a charming, beautifully presented hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the décor really stood out—bold wallpapers paired with comfortable, stylish furnishings that made the space feel both cosy and a bit special. The food was enjoyable, and the service throughout our stay was consistently good. The bar area had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, making it a great place to unwind in the evenings. We also really appreciated the thoughtful touches in the room, like the complimentary cake or scones and a little treat of their own sloe gin—it made the stay feel that bit more personal. Overall, a gorgeous little hotel and a great choice if you’re after somewhere quiet but full of character.
There was nothing we didn’t like.
What a fantastic stay! Room lovely and staff friendly and helpful. Food ( breakfasts and dinners) gorgeous and really good value for money, Thoughtful ittle extras such as a fridge in the foyer with extra milk and bottled water and fruit for us to help ourselves were very welcome .
There was nothing we didn't like.
Excellent location , excellent staff , excellent food. 10/10 every visit.
Everything clean tidy fresh the little extras!
Nothing to dislike
The sort of property I prefer - small and individual but with character. Very welcoming and homely but also clearly very professionally run. The food in particular was interesting and very well presented.
Bedroom door a bit stiff to open due to thick carpet, can’t think of anything else.
Superb food served by excellent and caring staff.. the locals are great folk as well.
Nothing
We like everything about it. The room was spacious comfortable and warm. The cake was a lovely surprise. Evening meals and breakfast were very good - couldn't fault it!
It was all good
Such friendly staff and lovely room to relax.Particularly appreciated the treats in the room.We were sorry to be moving on.
Excellent large room. Great en suite. Fresh pastries and aloe gin in the room each day. Coffee machine and tea making facilities.
Could not fault
Room was spacious and en suite was fabulous. Food was good.
Looked tired and dated and not very inspiring from the outside to the point we nearly left without trying. Glad we did though as it was lovely.
Food was excellent, decor lovely, very welcoming to dogs. Polite, friendly service. Sloe gin in the room and caramel shortcake in the room on arrival - lovely gesture. Coffee machine, tea, coffee making facilities too. Quiet at night with no road noise. It is on a quiet road but with quick, easy access to the A1 so convenient for Bamburgh etc. We will definitely be back!
Nothing
Clean, cosy and comfortable.
All very nice, we liked everything.
Overall it was a great four days. The little extras, sloe gin and cake in the room, which was very comfortable were a welcome surprise. The quality, service and presentation of the food was superb both at breakfast and dinner. The staff were without exception friendly and attentive.
Very comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff. Great choices for breakfast. Dinner was excellent too.
Lovely country pub.Food was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.10 minute drive to Bamburgh.Free cakes and drinks in the room a lovely bonus
Nothing
Never judge a book by its cover, whilst the outside is nothing remarkable it hides a gem inside, spacious and comfortable with everything we needed. The sloe gin was a welcoming aperitif for fantastic dinner. Breakfast kept me going for the day ahead.
