Lake Resort by Marsden

This place was absolutely amazing and far exceeded our expectations! The apartment was huge, with incredible views, and the downstairs bath and deck right on the water were an incredible surprise that we weren’t expecting at all. It was such a beautiful and relaxing space, and we honestly would have loved to stay much longer. Everything about the accommodation itself was fantastic, and we would happily return.

The only downside for us was the onsite restaurant. The staff were lovely and the pizza was nice, but unfortunately the other meals we ordered weren’t great and seemed to be mostly inexpensive frozen seafood. It was a shame, but the accommodation itself was exceptional.

Great spot, the $60 for the upgrade to a one bedroom apartment was great value. Nice and relaxing spot to stay.

Lovely units very clean and spacious. We stayed in the spa villa but didn’t use the spa. May have used it if there were robes provided as it would have been freezing going from the spa to the unit so opted not to.

Could hear the people in the upstairs unit every time the walked anywhere. The shower kept going from hot to cool. Aside from that had a great stay

Für ein angebliches 5* Hotel gehört hier viel renoviert oder ersetzt. Alleine die Nachttischlampen sehen aus wie äußerst billige Nachttischlampen. Auch die Sessel und der Tisch waren sehr abgewohnt. An den Wänden war an vielen Stellen die Farbe heruntergegangen und der Boden sieht auch sehr alt aus. Für diese Hotelkategorie haben wir uns viel mehr erwartet.

Fantastic accommodation hidden away. The room was spacious and well appointed. We dined at the restaurant onsite which was fabulous. Excellent value for money.

View from the balcony was great, yummy breakfast and helpful staff. A perfect spot close to Cromwell. This accommodation exceeded our expectations!

There was a little window above our bed which did not block out the light in the morning.

The location was absolutely amazing, beautiful views, staff were lovely and the property overall looked amazing. We loved our stay.

There were a few things falling apart, shower glass door hit the glass panel every time we used it, the rug was falling apart so all the cotton strips went everywhere, cupboards in kitchen the panel tape was all coming off. There was no vacuum in the room and when the cleaners came through they didn’t vacuum so after 3 nights it was getting pretty messy.

We love going there, such a great place to stay and recharge. Staff are wonderful and very helpful

The couches are not very comfortable 😕 Apart from that can't fault it.

Bed was comfortable. View was nice. Spa bath was satisfactory.

There was big stains on the curtains. Curtains had also been ripped and then sewn up. Shower was dirty. Balcony covered in bird poo. Microwave old and buttons didnt work well. Restaurant/Bar was closed on a Sunday.

The view was stunning the room spacious and quiet. The bathroom was beautiful. The bed was quite soft which was perfect for me but not as great for the friends I was staying with. The staff where very friendly and helpful and I loved the restaurant decor the bathrooms where quite fun!

The room is very clean and spacious, but I paid $ 20 extra to upgrade from the initial booking.

Neither WIFI nor data reception is available at all. The breakfast was very basic, not acceptable at all. I had to check out one day early since my family was not happy at all.

Great location, peaceful and quiet. Staff so lovely, excellent rooms, so clean. Fantastic restaurant on site, food was exceptional.

The view was picturesque. We loved how peaceful it was.

What a lovely room, so big with a view out over the lake.

We had a great outlook out to the lake and the mouth of the canal. The sunrise in the morning through the large window was magical. Shower was great Bed was comfortable

The only thing a bit off was watching a guy across the water flick smoke but into the lake.

The views are stunning! The comfort of the room from heated bathroom tiles, to heated towel racks and an electric blanket on the bed - made it feel so cozy! We have been travelling the South Island for a week now, and this is the best place we have stayed. Wish we spent longer here!
