There was a power cut for a few hours & there was no torches or candles available, no one in the office was available. You couldn’t see the path outside the rooms. For one of the most expensive accommodations in Whanganui, you would expect to have at least torches or possibly solar lighting outside. At least something for emergency lighting.

The broken towel holders on the back of door in bathroom. Mould in shower. There is so much room in bathroom but nothing to put your clothing on, only by toilet floor.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026My family and I love to visit places with spa baths. This is the whole reason we came to try this one out in Whanganui. But this is the very first time we've had troubles with the spa bath and major electrical issues as apart of our stay. This is too big of an issue to ignore, the power turns off from a small amount of water around the electrics when you use the spa bath. This is not normal or safe. Not to mention the jets spray water and so does the plug when pulled. I've used many different spa baths around australia and nz but this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. The staff are used to the power turning off too which is a big red flag. This happened twice too many. This was a eye opening experience.
