Gorgeous rooms. Wonderful food.
situation was good. The room was big , but only 1 chair ?
The hotel was not very warm and facilities not great. Value for money at nearly £200 a night poor
All the staff were friendly, very helpful and eager to please. The bar stocked real ale !
Excellent breakfast and I felt very well looked after. Loved the view from my room and its quiet location at the end of a corridor. Slept very well.
I would have liked some body lotion as part of the toiletries provided.
Great breakfast with THE best smoked salmon, nice room and staff was lovely. Dog got sausage in the morning and in general the hotel was good
The shower wasn’t very warm
good
Very welcoming and helpful staff. Great service in the bar and restaurant. Comfortable beds.
Excellent 2 night dbb offer stay for a silver wedding treat, great welcome, lovely sea view room with a bottle of cava on ice, the food was excellent but the highlight for us was the staff, the best check in experience ever, friendly helpful staff in the bar and restaurant and the cheerful friendly breakfast lady, just a perfect break, Thank you
great location handy for the railway station and walk into town and beach
some of the paint work could have been repainted and windows flap on extractor fan rattled all night
I stayed at Nether Abbey Hotel for a couple of days from 7/11/25. The hotel is in a very pleasant part of NB within 10 minutes of town centre. I was warmly welcomed by mine host, Marius (hope spelling right). My room, the breakfast and dining/bar area were all splendid. The food was excellent. The main purpose of my stay was to visit the East Fortune air museum and my visit there was brilliant especially as it included one of the original Concordes. It's about 15 minutes drive from the hotel. All staff were most friendly and helpful. I planned to watch the Rugby match between New Zealand & Scotland on 8/11/25. Marius suggested I watch it in the large bar/dining area of the hotel. I did so and enjoyed the game on the big screen with many others. Sadly NZ beat us! A thoroughly enjoyable couple of days. I will return.
Location is great. Short 5 min walk to the station and 35mins on train to Edinburgh or less than 10 min walk to the fantastic beach. Left the car in the hotel car park all weekend. Room warm and comfortable with tea, coffee, hot chocolate (rare!) and biscuits. Staff very friendly and eager to please. Bar was welcome after a long day out and about with sport shown on the TV. Would definitely stay again. North Berwick is a lovely town to walk about with a harbour, history, independent shops and plenty of places to stop for a meal or a drink.
If we are being very critical, instead of new individual shampoo/shower gel bottles in the bathroom, there were large bottles which had been refilled so many times that the labels had rubbed off. Also, there was a good choice for breakfast (which had to be ordered the day before with you stating the time you would be down) but the porridge was lukewarm both mornings and some items of the cooked breakfast were either overcooked or not hot enough.
good choice and pleasant room. very good and friendly staff
Great location. Great room with great facilities.
Ambiance of Hotel Room and bed Meals Staff
Very clean and cosey Staff friendly Food great
Beautiful, clean and well looked after
Nothing to mention
Breakfast, staff, location
Price of a glass of wine, attic room
Friendly staff, clean, good breakfast, great location.
Nothing.
The hotel was in an ideal location for us. The room was lovely, comfortable and clean. Though being on the second floor, they were sloping eaves close to one side of the bed. You have to be careful not to hit your head! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Just a bit more headroom to get into bed, though I know that is difficult to do.
The hotel was lovely and the staff excellent
We were Room 8 Unfortunately the shower fan made noise and the windows rattled. However the room was very nice
All of the staff were welcoming and professional. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Dinner and breakfast was very good.
I was very happy with all aspects of our stay
This was great. A choice of dining from quiet to lively. A superb bar.
Slopping roof for tall people!
Lovely staff, great bar and restaurant. Loved the decor in the downstairs area and room was lovely with a sea view.
Nothing negative to say, it was all great
Staff were fantastic. Diligent and very friendly, a credit to the hotel.
It was perfect.
Good service
Pre order evening before. I ordered yoghut and granola but was served overnight oats??
Very clean with great facilities and staff
Breakfast was very good, but I did not like having to fill in a form the night before picking what you wanted as you don’t know how you might feel the next day. ( this is not a big issue just my personal opinion). All the staff were excellent and could not do enough for you.
Ideally located . Staff efficient and friendly.
No issues.
Very efficient breakfast ordering the evening before. No long wait for anything.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were enthusiatic and really made us feel welcome. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable and we slept very well.
Very Quaint hotel. Comfortable room Breakfast was great The person who checked us in was so, so The woman who checked us out was terrific
Always a great place to stay.

Good location wonderful breakfast attentive staff
Bedroom described as luxurious but wasn’t really
Let me start by saying that the staff here is just wonderful given what they have to work with. From the front desk to the breakfast servers, they are a friendly staff. Our room was up three flights, an offer to help with luggage was refused by us. Got to room in the dark and the electricity was not working in the room. Back down to the lobby and they were on it immediately saying that it sometimes happens in that room. Back up the stairs again on a worn and dirty carpeted stairs, a fuse box outside the room remedied the situation. We finally called it a night. Left the bath light on with door closed to find our way at night. Got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and a hornet flew at me in the bathroom. I swatted at it and looked up and there were 30 hornets on the walls and attached to the overhead light. My husband had to kill them all, and we found more when daylight hit. We reported it to our breakfast servers, who said she would tell a manager when they came to work later that day. We were told that the light attracted them and they were looking to come inside where it was warm and we had left a window ajar which it was, but not by us. I also advised them that I carry an epi pen due to my bee allergy and this could have been fatal for me. We have not heard a word since.
The hotel location is excellent: within walking distance of the train station, shops, the beach and the Sea Bird Museum. The decor/ambience is lovely and the property is in excellent condition. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and courteous. We especially enjoyed the hotel’s outstanding breakfast, which was delicious. The hotel offers a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit and coffee, tea and juices. I would particularly like to single out Mario for his hospitality and graciousness to us during our stay.
Nothing!
The staff was exceptional. Marius was extremely welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. All staff we encountered were attentive, considerate, and very friendly. We were made to feel at ease as soon as we entered the hotel. They are a credit to the hotel. We had an evening meal which was both very good & filling. And the breakfast was a delight. I would definitively recommend this hotel.
Nothing.
Restaurant bar and outside siting area
Das Hotel hat uns sehr gefallen. Insbesondere das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonderen Dank an den Concierge für den außergewöhnlich netten Empfang. Wir können das Hotel sehr empfehlen.
Very relaxed with friendly staff
French toast was amazing! The actual room was great and spacious.
Unfortunately our room was on the top floor given elderly dog this was an issue as there is no lift.
Staff were friendly, location was really convenient for train station, room was large with a huge bath, and the bar was a nice place for a late night drink.
It was pricey but it was Fringe by the Sea so all of North Berwick accommodation was expensive that week
We met friends there and had a good evening meal, followed by an excellent breakfast. My wife, who is vegetarian, was particularly impressed with hers. The room was fine - no complaints - comfy bed, quiet room etc.
All good.
Exceptional breakfast and great staff especially at point of contact thanks again

Excellent service-with a Great and helpful welcome
Location and staff
No lift to second floor
The staff are all lovely . Very polite , caring and made you feel very welcome . We had our toy poodle with us and they even set up a table in a quiet area so he could dine with us . Bedroom was very comfortable and spotless . Facilities and breakfasts very good . Lovely little touches like bottles of water and muesli bars available for one to take every day for your journey . Plus a selection of sweets to help yourself . The lady and Italian gentleman on Reception couldn’t do enough to help and nothing was too much trouble . Gave good tips about the area, modes of transport etc . We didn’t dine in the restaurant in the evening but looked lovely and was busy . When they say they are dog friendly , they really are . Our dog loved it there . Thank you everyone . Room 4 Hotel is a fifteen minute walk into N Berwick and a ten minute walk to the station where the train goes into Edinburgh . Bus stop right outside hotel .
Everything. The staff were lovely, excellent location, beautiful room. Will be booking again.
Great hotel, staff were lovely. Food great. Breakfast lovely. Room very clean, lovely bathroom. Great views. Beautiful reception.
Looks nice from outside. Entrance shabby. Restaurant and bar,one of the same.Very uncomfortable and lacking any atmosphere No couches to relax, only hard seats. Room basic. The shower screen rubber was filthy. Bath very narrow. Bed ,mattress was sunk in the middle. Food at breakfast was okay. But fresh fruit and orange juice on table when you arrived, therefore it was warm. Night food, poor choice, and chips, although not burnt they were black. Never had triple cooked chips like this anywhere before. The second night, my husband was extremely sick. Could only guess it was the food we eat in the hotel. We had an executive room. Dread to the think what the rest are like.
Great location for nearby shops and restaurants. Took 15 minutes to walk into the Main Street and was lovely walking back at night along the seafront. All staff were very friendly and attentive in particular Mel who was so lovely and went out of her way to chat to us.
Feel the rooms are quite expensive. Would of preferred a buffet style breakfast for hot food.
Lovely stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.
Staff were very friendly & helpful
I know it is not possible but a lift would have been good apart from that could not fault.
Lovely team above all, Nice view
A superb hotel with lovely comfortable rooms, beautiful food and great service. Staff could not be more helpful or courteous and we had a marvellous stay. Highly recommend.
Friendly and attentive staff topped off comfortable accommodation and great food in good location.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast and and also bar meals. Room was very tidy, comfortable and quiet. Good location to access beach, train station, bus routes and 10 minute walk to local shops
Lovely area, nice old building, close to town centre
Price we paid for the room was steep but I paid the extra as the pictures of the room we were led to believe we were booking on Booking.com looked stunning. We were therefore VERY disappointed not to get the room which Booking.com were displaying on their website as the room we had booked. The room we though we had booked had dual aspect windows. Our room certainly did not as it was at the front of the building. It was nice, BUT NOT THE ROOM WE PAID FOR. This made the price for the stay far too much so, based on this, it is unlikely we would stay here again.
Excellent service and fantastic breakfasts.😁
Expensive hotel , but staff warm and welcoming and friendly
The breakfasts were excellent, and there is a good choice.
We thought the evening meal we had on the day of arrival could have been better. My wife ordered some fries which were of very poor quality. The main meal I had was larger than I could cope with, and made heavy by overly battered haggis in addition to portions of chicken.
Excellent service and accommodation. Food was first class and very reasonable.
Staff very welcoming and accommodation again was excellent. Pity it we were only staying one night.
central location, parking, really nice room, very clean, nice walk in shower.
Good location comfortable bed bug bedrooms
Had a lovely relaxing break at Nether Abbey. Staff fantastic - very friendly and willing to help at any time. Room spotless, quiet and so so comfortable. Food great and breakfast ordered the night before therefore no waiting for a table. Would love to go back again
Our room was very comfortable but the bathroom was as clean as one would expect for the price. There was duct tape on the toilet plumbing, and quite a loud knocking noise after flushing the toilet.
Staff and customer service was excellent
Fan in bathroom was broken and was noisy during the night
Room was large comfortable and clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast was good. Food from bar/restaurant was also very good.
It was a bit on the noisy side at night when people were leaving the bar.
Great service, lovely rooms and excellent food. The Sunday roast is outstanding.
