Super vriendelijk en gastvrij, hadden voor 1 nacht geboekt maar dat is te kort. Hadden beter 2 nachten moeten doen. Je kan dan heerlijk eten en rustiger Oudtshoorn , de grotten en een struisvogelfarm bezoeken.

Wonderful stay and visit here. Magda and Christo were so welcoming, accommodating, and helpful with travel and activity and restaurant recommendations which we so appreciated. Rooms were comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We highly recommend 88 Baron van Reede Guesthouse.

Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, die uns auch Tipps für rundherum und die Weiterfahrt gegeben haben. Sehr gutes, vielfältiges Frühstück. Zimmer und Badezimmer waren makellos sauber. Wir haben spontan ein Upgrade bei den Zimmer bekommen und hatten sogar eine kleine Terrasse dabei. Die Heizung im Zimmer hat super funktioniert und die Zimmer waren bei der Ankunft schon warm.

Exceptional. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure guests have a comfortable stay. Nothing has been overlooked. Everything you could need is provided, from a mini fridge, towels, shower gel, and a kettle with tea and coffee to a safe, a very comfortable bed, and secure parking. The breakfast was generous, delicious, and featured fresh local products. The hosts gave us an exceptionally warm welcome and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a lovely guesthouse in the centre of Oudtshoorn. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable, breakfast was scrumptious and the hosts are ever so nice!

Ein toller Aufenthalt in zentraler Lage mit mehreren Restaurants in laufnähe. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet und das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Aber was den Aufenthalt so besonders macht, sind die Gastgeber! Sie kümmern sich sehr herzlich um ihre Gäste und machen den Aufenthalt zu einem perfekten Urlaubserlebnis.

The location was close to numerous restaurants and the facility was impeccable. Our reception was unsurpassed as Christo and Magda gave us the complete tour and explained everything we needed to know. The room had everything we needed and there was a large selection of beverages and snacks available in the room. The breakfast was perhaps the best we’ve had at any B&B. Excellent selection of items to choose from and the entrees were cooked to perfection. Stop by the Ostrich center south of town for anything ostrich that you may need.

There was nothing not to like. It was too cold to use the pool but we were not up for that anyway.

Das Guesthouse ist sehr schön, super sauber und es sind mehrere Restaurants fußläufig zu erreichen. Die beiden Gastgeber haben uns sehr herzlich Empfangen und uns direkt alles in der Unterkunft gezeigt. Bei wärmerem Wetter kann man sehr gut auf der eigenen Terrasse sitzen oder auch in einem überdachten Bereich. Das Frühstück wird als Büffet angeboten. Eierspeisen, Schinken, Speck usw. Werden frisch zubereitet. Einen sehr gut bestückten Kühlschrank mit Getränken zu annehmbaren Preisen hat man auch.

Da gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Wir waren nur eine Nacht dort, aber Oudtshoorn und Umgebung hätte sicherlich auch für einen längeren Aufenthalt genug zu bieten.

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber, die sich um Restaurantreservierungen bemüht haben. Gute Lage inklusive grosszügigem Parkplatz. Das Zimmer war sauber und wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Toll war auch, dass sie das Frühstück auch bis nach der Erdmännchentour anbieten - das Frühstück war sehr lecker und umfangreich. Wir haben es genossen. Preisleistung ist sehr gut.

Das Wc/Dusche war in unserem Zimmer in ein Kämmerchen eingebaut - das war für uns grosse Personen alles ein wenig tief und eng.

Property was in a great location in the town and we received the warmest of welcomes from Christo and Clarissa. Throughout the stay, they couldn't have been more helpful with dinner recommendations and booking taxis for us. Rooms and pool area at the hotel were all fabulous. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

So aufmerksame Gastgeber habe ich selten erlebt! Für uns wurde am Ankunftstag sogar vorsorglich eine Reservierung fürs Abendessen gemacht, weil der Ort aufgrund einer Veranstaltung gut besucht war. Zudem war die Unterkunft wirklich liebevoll eingerichtet. Ganz große Empfehlung!

De behulpzaamheid van de uitbaters.Zij gaven uitleg over alles wat we nodig hadden, de activiteiten in de omgeving en ze deden zelfs de reservaties in de plaatselijke restaurant. Kortom ze waren begaan met hun gasten. Alles was perfect inorde.

Outstanding hospitality! The host - Magda - gave a personal introduction and tour and this happened for all guests. This level of hosting continued throughtout our stay including at the breakfast which included the TASTIEST Water Melon in many a year. Our hosts were happy for me to empty their larder on this one! Great location and secure parking (as always in SA). Lovely room with a veranda outside - part of an old house - with wonderful tropical looking greenery outside in a country that looks quite desert-like not far away. Oudtshorn itself has some interesting old buildings - there is a guide in your room - but was, surprisingly, not much of a place. Still you stay there to visit the Cango Caves, ostrich farm (we visited the original one Highgate - it was excellent - no silly gimmicks) and take the circular tour over the Swarzburg Pass. Loved Prince Albert - this is what we thought Oudtshorn would be like. The accomodation was busy - not surprising - but not in a way that was intrusive. Must give another 'shout out' for the sheer effort being put into 88 Reede by the two wonderful hosts.

Die besten und freundlichsten Gastgeber, die wir jemals kennen gelernt haben. Absolut empfehlenswerte Unterkunft, wir haben noch nie erlebt, dass sich jemand so fürsorglich um seine Gäste kümmert, alle mit ihrem Namen begrüßt, sich um Ausflüge in der Umgebung kümmert, um Tischreservierungen für das Abendessen, nur um ihren Gästen das bestmögliche Erlebnis zu bieten. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt dort sehr genossen, besonders hervorzuheben ist auch das großartige Frühstück, mit Müsli, frischen Obst und Eierspeise. Klasse Unterkunft, wir waren leider nur für eine Nacht dort auf der Durchreise zur Gartenroute, wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Super friendly hosts, very welcoming and full of lovely suggestions on where to go, where to eat and what to do. Beautifully clean and well maintained room with everything you need. Aircon was wonderful, the pool looked nice although we didn’t use it. Lovely home cooked breakfast and great coffee. We would stay here again if in the area - highly recommend.

Room has everything you need and the fridge is full, separate shower / toilet. You even have your own sit outside. Excellent swimmingpool. Great breakfast and the owners are doing everything they can to support, help etc. They will support advice on activities ( or book dinner etc ) location is in same street as main restaurants , bars etc. Parking lot is behind the gate so perfect. For us 10 out of 10.

Wir kennen das BvR 88 seit über 10 Jahren noch mit seinen früheren Inhabern. An der außergewöhnlichen Qualität hat sich nichts geändert. Wir kennen viele gute Guesthouses in SA, das BvR 88 ist absolute Spitzenklasse. Das beginnt bei der Ausstattung, der Sauberkeit, dem aufmerksamen Personal, den freundlichen Inhabern und geht bis zum Frühstück und der Lage mit vielen guten Restaurants. Absolute Empfehlung in Oudtshoorn.

From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel at home by our wonderful hosts, Christo and Magna. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was spotless, well proportioned and very comfortable. There was a very, well stocked fridge. Breakfast was amazing and cooked fresh. Would highly recommend staying here.

De kamer was compleet met badkamer en koffie faciliteit met aangrenzend het zwembad. Magda en Christo zijn enorm gastvrij en doen alles om je verblijf aangenaam te maken. Het ontbijt op de gezellige veranda is uitstekend en uitgebreid.

Die Inhaber sind super, super lieb! Total toller Service, total saubere Unterkunft. Sehr gutes Frühstück, man fühlt sich total wohl. Der Pool ist groß, es gab einen eigenen Kühlschrank. Das WC separat vom Bad. Sehr luxuriöse Ausstattung. Das Restaurant „Nostalgie“ ist der Wahnsinn. Es wurde für uns reserviert.

Der Ort ist an sich nichts Besonderes, aber man kann eben tolle Aktivitäten machen.

So freundliche, zugewandte Gastgeber, die sich bemühen auf die individuellen Wünsche des Gastes einzugehen, das hat uns richtig beeindruckt. Danke auch nochmals für den Tipp „Walk with the lions“ Das war wirklich ein großartiges, sehr empfehlenswertes Erlebnis.

We - as a group of 6 persons, were here the second time and again, our stay was fantastic: the most wonderful hosting family: friendly and helpful. The rooms are well furnished with everything one could possibly think of. A fridge filled with cold beers, water and cool drinks besides Coffee and tea making facility. A comfortable bed, crisp linen made for a good night sleep. The pool in the garden is lovely to dip in after a busy touring day.

That we only stayed for a night - will try to stay longer next time

On a séjourné dans 18 guest houses dans notre road trip et celui ci est de loin la meilleure , où on déguste un petit déjeuner aussi délicieux , tant par la qualité des produits , le cadre , la gentillesse des propriétaires La chambre bien équipée avec une petite terrasse , piscine et un parking sécurisé. Et à 10 minutes de toutes les attractions. Restaurant en face de la maison Formidable ! Une très bonne expérience

We enjoyed our stay, the hosts went above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken acre off. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent the staff amazing and one of our favourite stops on the Garden Route. To top all this, this stay was very reasonably priced and great value for money, topped off with outstanding hospitality
