I really enjoyed the good breakfast, clean rooms, and convenient location.

We noticed that the sink in the bathroom of our room was not draining properly, particularly after brushing our teeth or washing our hands. We would appreciate it if this could be checked and addressed, as it was quite inconvenient during our stay.

Breakfast was really good and my room was comfortable.

There was a smell in my bathroom coming from the sink. I didn’t bother complaining about it because I was only in my room one night.

The hotel was comfortable and clean. We booked an accessible room, as my husband uses a wheelchair. This room was at the end of a long corridor, then had to get through 2 tight doors to get to the room. Not practical location for an accessible room.

The Bar area is nice

We booked a standard double room and were given a room in a lower floor which is half basement actually. These rooms should not be treated the same as upper level.

Staff were GREAT! They were helpful and friendly and we had a warm welcome. The car park is free if you stay and decor inside the atrium, restaurant and garden is really lovely and looks new. The bed was comfy and the room was big. There's a pool and gym with a baby change table in the changing room which is great. Not far from West Midlands Safari and Cadburys world.

It looked like the room wasn't completely cleaned. There was dust on the coffee machine and coffee tray and water left in the kettle. There was someone's shampoo in the shower (from a hair dye packet so obviously left there) and the carpet wasn't clean. The pool is very run down! Tiles missing and sticking out, grout very very old and missing. The floor is very slippery. I assume it's quiet because there's only two loungers - fine for us because we don't have time to sit with kids and it was quiet when we went but if it's busier then it's got much left to be desired.

Breakfast was disappointing due to food items like fried eggs running out quickly and not being replenished quickly….glasses for juice and water not being available and having to use mugs….shortage of staff so they are not to blame just poor management

The hotel called us just before 4pm on the day of our booking to cancel it, saying that they had overbooked. It has now been 18 days since then and we have still not received our refund for this booking and the hotel has also not replied to our message about the refund.

LOCATION! ABSOLUTELY THE BEST FOR EVENTS AT THE PRIORY! Cleaning and breakfast staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was good as was the coffee. Bed was clean.The priory side is lovely and well kept with original features. HOWEVER ....

Check in lacked details! Our room was in a separate building across the car park, round the corner with no lights. Pouring of rain, if you wish to use the bar you will need a torch and mac, it's not very even under foot. Doesn't feel secure at all and the lock on our building was left open. Disheartened, we went to the room we just wanted to sleep after the event so no big deal. Filthy carpets, smelly corridors like an old peoples home. Needs decorating and upgrading, such a shame. Room 42 has NO COLD RUNNING water and the hotel are aware of this and continuously let the room out!!! Really badly lit, the chair was disgusting, smelly and sticky, no air con or fans available, damaged furniture. It really was the pits!!! If I could have booked somewhere else I would have, with the huge event on there were none available. Receptionist happily gave us bottled water after we had trekked back to report the water situation in the rain. There are no phones to contact reception in the room it was very hot and stuffy. The electricity safety sticker is out of date! Room 52 has 2 lights out also and out of date safety certificates!The convenience of location has kept this place running, but they are not reinvesting or keeping it up. Next time I will book elsewhere and get a train! The Priory itself is beautiful, but the Inn is unpleasant.

Location was great for us for our visit.

Outside the front, potholes bad, outside of building windows and doors look very tiered. Air con not working and we were in the room an above the steam room and sauna. Fans provided but room was still incredibly hot. Pool area, needs a full refund, tiles, ceiling, very grubby and run down. (Pool area not very clean) breakfast was ok very busy and some families there filling their pickets with waffles and cereals to go, shame on them. Also 1 staff member was lovely and was working incredibly hard (blonde young girl) the other dark hair girl… needs to get off her phone and do some actual work.

Minimal effort in the rooms. Bed was a bit stiff.

I didnt have breakfast ut was too expensive, it was going to be £16 and I onky wanted a bowl of cereal.

Decor and presentation was good making for pleasant surroundings. The room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

Staff on reception were not engaging or welcoming. Polite, but no personality, didn't acknowledge my wait, no smiles, and no conversation. Just lots of silence whilst waiting. We had an evening meal which was really disappointing. Poor presentation, lack of flavour, uninspired, and poor value for money.

Good place for a stop over; clean and comfortable room and plenty of tables/seating for drinks and food. Good selection at breakfast.

The spa and gym were neglected.

The hotel entrance was lovely, the buffet had a lot of food, and the pool staff were nice.

- Some of the male guests were creeping around and watching my wife constantly in the pool. One in particular kept sitting by her stuff in the chairs, watching her swim. He was constantly staring. - The bedroom was infested with fleas or bedbugs. My wife was bitten within an hour of us being there and broke out in hives. The staff couldn't do anything about it as there were two parties of people there for a function/party/wedding. - The sink in the bedroom was blocked. You couldn't take the metal plug out at all. - The spa, steam room, and jacuzzi area was grimy, full of bits of rubble, dirt, dust, and grime. - They didn't have half the food or drinks we requested in the restaurant (we assume they had not bought enough due to the functions that were on).

Location and general quality if the hotel

The receptionist I felt was quite abrupt. We wanted to leave our bags as we had a wedding at the Dodford Inn, which was starting at 12noon. We didn't expect that our room would be ready but to be told you are too early to check-in was totally unnecessary. The beds were too soft and caused me a restless night.

Although most of the staff were great however one was pretty rude when I sat in the wrong seat for breakfast, breakfast was pretty cold most days with not much care taken.

Local to my business I was there for, plenty parking, easy to find. Spacious accommodation and relaxation areas, great to have a pool to swim

The room was about as far as it could be from the entrance - unhelpful when one has to take dogs out regularly for exercise etc. Also on the first floor with no lift. I have arthritic knees so struggled a bit managing dogs and luggage.

Food was reasonably priced, tasty and well portioned.. Comfortable beds.

The spa wasn't very well maintained, the steam room smelled of urine, the jacuzzi was being retitled so couldn't use. The pool was very small and half used for swimming lessons and very loud and not relaxing. There was no air conditioning although advertised has having, the system didn't work, therefore very hot rooms. Noisy fans were provided but still circulating warm air so couldn't sleep.

Cleaning staff were lovely.

Air con has obviously been broken for months. Small windows, very loud road noise. Carpet in shared areas is filthy. No fridge in our room, just a space under the counter where it had been taken out. No phones in room, when you call reception on the advertised number, no one answers.

Rooms where big, food was lovely.

I booked this hotel due to having pool, jacuzzi and sauna however the pool area was dirty, bags of cement lying everywhere, the jacuzzi was emptied and shut, half the pool was closed off, the water was cold and the sauna was big enough for 2 people which I was unable to use due to it being full every time I looked.

Book day prior a wedding stay over and thus a night further. Nothing but the upmost highest stars I can give. Staff especially were 11/10 absolutely incredible.

Facilities were great. They had a pool, sauna, & steam room. The rooms were nice & the food was good. 5 minute taxi to town centre. Lovely park a few minutes away.

There was an error when I checked in of being overcharged. This wasn't handled well at all & was very frustrating having to deal with it. Not even an apology was offered.

It was very neat and the facilities (sauna, pool) were working perfectly. Breaking was very good too and staff were friendly.

Exceeded expectations, great quality rooms and facilities were a bonus. On site bar and lounge areas with outdoor spaces also. Pool and steam/sauna were a welcome surprise. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast restaurant was a beautiful room and good selection on offer.

The food at breakfast wasn’t the best, in particular the cooked meats and hot options. But it had plenty to offer.

The Tuna Salad

The staff were rude, unhelpful and didn't have any interests in helping. No air con which was specifically the reason I paid twice the price in the area, pillows awful, worst nights sleep I had so much so left at 6am as was just exhausted

The room was good, but very warm. We did have a fan brought to our room.., it was extremely loud. It was a struggle to sleep with the noose.

Diversions to the hotel were very misleading.

AC did not work and they say its not been working for 6 months and they informed on email and expect us to cancel. How do we know they have a perpetual problem with them AC and they wont be able to repair it 15 days after they sent the message. The room was far away and not directions or marking or help from the staff.

The swimming pool was clean, but clearly had seen better days. Car park was large and plently of room, though several potholes that need attention Though.the communal areas were clean, tidy and well kept, it is clear the whole hotel is due for a refit, window frames were rotten, air conditioning in rooms didnt appear to be working either

Weak wi-fi. Wine alcohol content should be clearly stated on the menu. 10% on a red wine is beyond contempt.[opinion] Minor niggles as an enjoyable stay.....as all previous stays have been. Thanks.

Chose the hotel on the basis of its location relative to an event I was attending. In hindsight should have travelled further afield. The only redeeming quality of the place is the friendliness and willingness of the staff to help. Mostly poorly trained and incompetent ... but friendly and willing none the less.

Arriving in the carpark my heart sank. Looks like a derelict building and carpark that has been abandoned. Check-in took an hour because of a power cut. Did not bother checking out because the reception had 20 people in a queue. No air-con in the room - only a fan. Was warned about this on booking ... but that was 3 months ago! Pre-booked breakfast ... and having been welcomed and told we could sit anywhere ... we discovered most tables still had cups and plates from the last occupant. Coffee machine did not work. Breakfast was generally low quality - except, surprisingly, for the croissant!

Have stayed a few times, staff are always friendly, hotel room was clean and well stocked with everything you need, bed was clean and super comfy.

The Air Conditioning has been out of service for a while now, on our first stay, we were advised of this (AFTER BOOKING AND PAYING) however, the staff provided a large fan, this was fine, as the weather was not too hot, however, on our last stay, the Air Conditioning was still not fixed, a small desk fan was provided and based on the outside temperature being 33/34 and the room being in full sun from mid day onwards, the room until around 1am was unbearably hot. This is NOT the staffs fault and they worked very hard to keep all of the customers happy during this time, the only saving grace was, access to the shower which we used roughly every hour or so to cool down before the room was actually cool enough to sleep. As I say, this is NOT the staffs fault, but the overall Air Conditioning units for days where the temperature is well above average need to be fixed, as it has now been months.

We booked a deal including an evening meal. Not a good idea as the menu is restricted and if you want something else you can't use the credit. My rump steak was terrible. Just dry and bland. Not sure it was beef. By far the worst aspect of our stay as everything else was very good including breakfast.

Great facilities, location & friendly staff

Air con wasn't working on a really hot night. Food order took over an hour to arrive after the young male server thought he was clever not needing to take notes & messed the whole order up.

The staff were welcoming and polite - nothing was too much trouble. The food was freshly cooked and tasty. The beds were comfortable, and the property was clean. It was a very nice atmosphere.

The bathroom had an awful odour, which smelt like they might have a sewerage problem in that room. Throughout the night, there was a noise that sounded like a generator, which disturbed my sleep.

The hotel was in the right location for the family wedding. The property had no air conditioning and in 30 degrees heat a fan is not acceptable.

For the price that was charged there was no air conditioning. Very poor indeed. I had 2 rooms for a family wedding and neither has air conditioning. I would like a refund!

Air con doesn’t work in most of the rooms, hasn’t since February, we weren’t updated of this before our stay, we would have booked somewhere else if so. Reception staff saying ‘you were sent an email’ is laughable… I was sent an email in February saying your air con was temporarily not working and you were doing everything to fix it, of course I expected it to be resolved 5 months later

The AC was not working and it felt like I was in a sauna. I couldn't sleep properly for 2 days at the hotel. I had to drive back to London tired and weak where I had no sleep. Luckily i had my own fan as the hotel didn't have any available. Imagine how bad the temperature would have been. Even the fan was blowing out hot air

It's location as was near the wedding we were attending.

Between booking.com and the hotel, neither would answer their phones or answer emails when l had some issues week before arriving. One of our rooms had no air-conditioning only a poor substitute of a fan. Lady on reception was unfriendly verging on rude. We asked if there was any discount because of no air conditioning, she said we'd be advised of it and should have cancelled. As we had paid for 3 rooms for 2 nights stay in full upfront we did not get the luxury of cancelling when hotel did not live upto what was advertised. She just shrugged. Breakfast on both says was quite limited, one choice of bread. Little selection of fruit and cold meats, cheeses.

Stayed for 2 days during the heatwave. Had a room on the first floor. Air conditioning was not functioning. The heat was unbearable. We requested another room and as given one in the basement. Seems like just the basement rooms have air conditioning that is working. So if you book and it's hot this is what you need. Our replacement room was tiny but such a relief that it was cool. However the shower had a curtain that had been made out of two bits of fabric and did not reach the floor. Very weird Also temperature control in the shower was broken and only came out very hot.Come on IHG you can do so much better.

Recently stayed with my mother in law. We both enjoyed our stay. Lovely staff, great room & the breakfast was perfect. Also we loved the surrounding, spent evenings searching for Swifts, Swallow & Sparrows. Wonderful to see the Biodiversity around such a busy spot. Didn't pay much attention to the car park, but the planting around this hotel is great for local wildlife.

The facilities you can use were amazing and clean. The bar and food is always tidy and well staffed that are so lovely.

Everything including towels are white. If your a woman on her time of the month that worries about leaks or anything, BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS.

June found me in the UK for a wedding and the closest hotel recommended for wedding guests was the Bromsgrove Holiday Inn. This is spot on - charming, excellent service, clean and homey. Breakfast has elements of a traditional English meal (blood sausage, beans on toast etc). And additional meals are available at the bar-restaurant (the portions are generous - and ingredients are super fresh). The Caesar salad and Avocado Toast were on point. My room was small and comfortable: there is no elevator / lift that I saw - so one has to travel fairly light; and because the hotel layout is built on an older model, there are some winding corridors before on reaches various spots. There is a gym and pool; the spa is for body treatments (rather than hair & makeup). Transport - they have a good cab service that can be auto-dialed from the hotel lobby phone. I would stay there again! The hotel needs updating - but you can make it work for a trip! Four stars for service.

This was one of the hottest days of the year and the aircon was not working, I know that this is not the hotels fault, and they did provide a fan for the room but it would have been nice if the aircon was working.

Just had an excellent 3 night stay. Tail end of recent heatwave, so pleased to find good air on in corridoors and our room. Better still, a decent sized pool for refreshing swims at end of each day. Very good breakfasts, plenty of options. Generous portions , decent quality on restaurant meals. All staff friendly and helpful. And very good value by today’s hotel prices.

Check in took a while it was late due to traffic and we just wanted to go to bed. Wasn’t giving any information about the hotel for example check out times, breakfast times, facilities. The Mattress on my bed was too big for the base so felt like I was falling off the bed most of the night. There was a fan or something similar outside near our window which we could hear all night, very annoying. Breakfast there was no milk had to ask for more, white bread had ran out had to ask for more, I asked for instant decaf coffee was told there isn’t any so I went back to my room and got some. We asked for pancakes to be warmed up was told to put them in the toaster which then got stuck and almost caught on fire. Then the Pancake was then put in a microwave to warm up. No staff at the bar had to wait

It was in a good position for my stay

There was no air conditioning. They had warned us a month before but I would have thought it could be fixed in a month. We were given a fan which was really noisy and stopped me sleeping. There was no ice available at the bar. The coffee machine wasn’t working and we weren’t offered an alternative. The tv didn’t work. It didn’t feel clean. The bed was very small.
