All good. Staff very friendly, food good and bedroom good standard. Overall lovely experience and would return.
Jug fresh water in room would be good as tap water not drinkable...
Beautiful setting food amazing.
Great bar, comfy room. Really convenient for Cahir Castle.
Central location for touring Tipperary. Hotel had everything we needed to make our trip enjoyable. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
There was nothing we didn’t like about this hotel.
The biggest selling point for this hotel is their exceptional staff. On a daily basis it is clear who the manager is and that person makes sure everything runs well. The staff engage with the customers taking an interest in them and making sure their every request is met. The hotel is a real hub for the town with many locals coming in for food. The chef does a super job, simple menu - really well done. Homemade bread is divine. One night I just fancied a chicken salad- no problem - it was really good. Shout out to the Housekeeper Rosanne. What a super girl. She fixed our shower, carried my case, hoovered the stairs and took such an interest in the trips and tours we did. We arrived as tourists and felt like we were leaving a friends house!
Nothing to suggest to improve on. Just keep doing what you do well.
Spacious room with a very big bathroom, enough storage space for 3 people (the room sleeps up to 4), very good breakfast combination of buffet style for cereals etc. and hot breakfast from the menu (very big portions), free parking available behind the hotel.
Excellent hotel with a lovely outdoor area. Right in the centre of town. The food was great, especially the breakfast. The staff are brilliant, special shout out to Catherine on reception, Victoria and Lily on the bar and Neil the floor manager. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The only downside is there are no elevators but given it's a historic building that's understandable.
Te hard bed (107)
Super vriendelijk en gastvrij personeel
Veel trappen en tapijt op de vloer
There was a free carpark around the back of the hotel which was very handy. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The food at the hotel was wonderful and we really enjoyed sitting in the library before dinner. It also seemed very popular with locals which is always a good sign.
Not an issue for us but there is no lift to the bedrooms and you had to get jugs of drinking water for the room from the bar.
The staff were amazing. They were friendly, funny and very helpful.
Not a thing.
Location is brilliant and the staff were so very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our luggage being lost and they did all they could to assist us.
All good
Stopover en route to Kerry - Location, good sized bed & shower room, clean, soft towels fresh scented, friendly staff, good breakfast
We arrived after 9pm, just an awareness no food/room service as kitchen closed. Beds poss could do with mattress upgrade 😊
We rang ahead and were able to get arrange to check in 1.5hours early, time was of the essence for us as we needed to get ready for a wedding. The breakfast in the morning was at a reasonable time, and we loved it. It was delicious.
No elevator, late check-in, our room also didn't smell great.
Great location, very friendly staff. Clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed.
Our room faced the busy road with lots of truck traffic. Keg pick up was noisy at 6 am one morning. Not the fault of the hotel, just bring earplugs for road facing rooms.
Location was good, clean the oops fab breakfast
Heating was on in the room
Ottima la colazione.
Hotel molto trasandato e sudicio.
The staff was very friendly and helpful
The room was to warm
Great location great staff
Large attractive bedroom. Very large comfortable bed. Great mattress.
Great location, comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Included breakfast made to order that was delicious (smoked fish called kippers, smoked salmon are options) restaurant for dinner was great even live traditional music, quiet comfortable room.
No elevator
Nothing
It was dirty
Had a great stay. The accommodation was comfortable and welcoming, and James was a fantastic host.
Superb staff and communication
Nothing
Lovely hotel in the centre of Cahir. Bar downstairs served food.
The tap water is not drinkable you have to request drinking water brought to your room. This is only clear when you open the welcome brochure and we weren’t told when we checked in.
Great location, super breakfast and lovely staff what more could you ask for
The hotel is grand and lovely inside. The room we had was large with a king size bed. The location is right in the heart of town and couple minutes walk to the castle.
Dinner and breakfast very good. Excellent service.
Minor issues only - The room decor was a little tired. The fan was broken but it was replaced quickly and the TV remote had definitely seen better days - the buttons needed to be pushed very hard to respond.
Staff were excellent. It was a well run house.
I can't really think of anything.
Location, dinner was delicious. Family room could do with some TLC. Very nice staff.
Stairs 2 floors glad I researched that there wasn’t a lift. Also no water in room.
Well located in the town , which is lovely to walk around,a really interesting history.
Nothing , good value, really clean and modern facilities
Location great. Room clean. Good shower & water pressure. Fan in room very welcome.
Could hear footfall from room upstairs. Also very noisy sink in our room and nearby (upstairs maybe) when taps were run or toilets flushed.
size of room, location and breakfast
no lift to 2nd floor and tired mattresses
Staff very friendly & helpful. Location is great - very central in Cahir
A bit expensive but it was a Bank Holiday weekend when I stayed
Breakfast was very good. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Value for money.
The only issue is accessibility. If someone is a wheelchair user they will struggle to navigate the hotel as a lot of stairs and no sign of a lift.
No lift
Excellent breakfast lovely big comfortable breakfast room. Free parking at back of hotel, spaces fill up quickly. Room very comfortable though noisy outside window from kitchen? Very quiet after 10 pm approx. Excellent staff. Brilliant location near Cahir Castle. We'll be back hopefully !

Because of the hot weather the rooms were very warm, but we had the fan which was a great help to keep somewhat cool. Dinner and Breakfast was lovely, we couldn't ask for anymore.
Staff were so lovely, very flexible and accommodating.
A comfortable hotel with very helpful staff
Being an old building there is no lift for heavy bags
Beautiful building with a lovely laid back atmosphere. Very clean with a gorgeous smell throughout the corridors, not a strong cleaning smell like most hotels. Lovely room, very clean and our food was delicious at the bar. We had a magician with cards come to our table and it was such fun!
The cocktail menu for such a busy hotel is very limited. One very young waiter in particular looked quite disgruntled when we asked him for a drink as he passed our table 🍸 🤔. He was not Irish let's just say. He might put customers off with that kind of attitude. Everyone else was lovely! Bathroom lacked more toiletries hair nets etc and room didn't have any water. All constructive feedback
Convenient en la ruta Dublin a Cork
No he posat un 10 per no tenir ascensor
Cahir is a beautiful, historic town Unfortunately Cahir house hotel is the only hotel actually in the town and walking distance to the castle and park.
The rooms very uninhabitably hot when I checked in .I could not risk my health by staying there. The fan I was given worked only on one slow speed. I left about 830pm after spending a very short very hot short time in the roomand travelled to another much more comfortable hotel in Cork with a working fan. The Cahir house refunded me only half of the €130. which I had paid via Booking.com for my stay. I use this website very frequently and have stayed in this hotel several times previously. Very poor , shortsighted customer care from both Cahir House and Booking.com.
The location was excellent. Staff were so friendly and very helpful. Room was spacious. Bar that served food on site.
There was no lift but staff helped with the luggage.
Our room and bathroom were huge with a very comfortable bed and pillows, and extremely clean, with modern furniture which wasn't out of place. During the hot weather a fan was provided which was a massive bonus to keep cool at night. All staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Hotel had history and was located within the town square, next to the castle and wonderful walk to the Swiss Cottage (don't miss), the Abbey and viaduct. Food was fabulous and I thoroughly enjoyed the Irish breakfast. Thank you, my only wish is that we could have stayed longer and we hope to return.
Central location
I was staying in Room 100 and live music started in a function room below at about 10ish, I think. I called reception several times from 11 o'c onwards to see what time it was going to stop at, as it was unbearably loud and I eventually got a response on fifth or sixth attempt. Presumably they couldn't hear the phone because the music was deafening. The person who answered the phone told me I should have been advised that it was going to be noisy on check-in and told me it was going to stop at 12.30 am. I wasn't (had I been told, I would have requested another room as had an early start the following day) and the music didn't stop. The staff -in particular the manager- was extremely rude and offhand. Totally accept that everyone has a bad day but he was just as rude the second morning as well. When I was leaving, I asked him where the exit to the car park was and without uttering a word, he pointed to a door and stomped off. It was almost comical. While waiting for some food the previous evening, I another manager attack some young lad who was very obviously waiting for someone and she told him that he couldn't wait there. Very poor waiting staff and food terrible-I ordered hake and got some other kind of white fish. You'd expect someone to ask if this was ok but that didn't happen. The fish on the plate was warm but the potatoes and veg underneath it on the plate were cold. I could go on, but don't have the patience. Not one person asked me if everything was ok. When I was checking out, the receptionist on the desk was so focused on scrolling on her phone, she barely looked up at me. I would not recommend this place-really poor standard of hospitality and very definitely overpriced.
Beautiful hotel! Friendly staff. Restaurant and bar on site after a long day of travel was nice.
Needed windows open to sleep due to warm temperatures and was at a bit of a noisy intersection.
Friendly helpful staff. Great breakfasts and also evening meals in the bar.
In the center of town close to restaurants, the castle and public transport. The hotel was comfortable, clean and staff were very friendly.
The rooms were a bit dated, but otherwise comfortably furnished.
Very friendly staff and food was excellent and good value for money
A lot of stairs. Difficult if not impossible for people with mobility issues but perhaps that's simply the nature of the building
The location is perfect for a stay in Cahir and the hotel itself is a fantastic example of an "old" Irish hotel with plenty of nooks and crannies and a beautiful back garden. Parking is available for free which is an added bonus. The breakfast was superb.
Unfortunately, there was only one staff member at checkout on Sunday morning and she seemed far more interested in chatting with her friends that dealing with the large queue that was forming in front of her. Besides her making the decision to have a chat with her friends it would also be much better if management deployed an extra team member to help with check out, particularly at the busiest time on a Sunday morning.
I had a wonderful stay - it was incredibly hot and the receptionist was SUPER helpful ensuring I got a cooler room.
The bed & bed linen were excellent. Restaurant & breakfast excellent. Most of the staff were great.
Noise outside - people & cars. Shouting Saturday night until 2am. Told not to drink the bathroom water but no bottled water supplied. Bathroom bit tired. No info online about parking.
